welcome back to Bonanza disc golf day two just made it 303 open three day eight year tournament here also Randy's back so name of the game today is just keep the disc in bounce throw some safe shots it's still windy not as windy so hot rounds can be had out here but this is the tournament I'm trying to settle back into things hey tier probably not the best place to do it but out of the cash let's see if we can get back into the cash today and then move up again tomorrow but either way I'm just trying to play my game have a good time and set pretty low expectations stay in every single shot all right welcome back round number two a little bag update I found a replacement for my Destroyer I threw in the panda 18 found the purple Destroyer after my round that I shanked on hole number nine but back in the bag my Sexton fiber which is a slightly more stable firebird and then I also changed my Putters back to the new Putters that I wanted to putt with the old ones didn't give me as much confidence as I thought they would hole number one 355 straight down the hill same disc hopefully same play as yesterday but it's a little bit more of a tailwind and you know tournament nerves at the first hole I put it a little bit wide but also a little bit deep and you guys aren't going to be hearing holla background all this time because I told him to not put anything if they don't want to just play the bananas part of hollaback girl my putt here is just outside the circle probably 40 50 feet asking whether or not I should go or somebody else on my card I decided to do it gonna do nice that putt up the hill I kind of don't mind this putt to start the round but I never really give it the height especially because I'm thinking if I don't hit either no metal or just the chains then it's not gonna sit it's probably gonna roll down the hill tap in par not too mad about it my Planet the first three holes is just try to settle in and take some pars well number two 746 feet all the way around this baseball field to where that last light pole is on the right side we're playing to a basket just over there I'm throwing my Jessica Wiese purple Echo Star Destroyer relatively stable for a little bit of a Tailwind just turned it over honestly got a pretty good shot basically everything that I wanted to do is just get just to the other side of the tree in the middle of the Fairway this leaves me with a forehand up to the basket basically about 60 feet maybe 50 feet past that little house that you could see next to that baseball field it's like a porta potty little thing probably about 300 160 feet left so I throw a destroyer on the hyzer the Ricky two-time Destroyer that replaces my other one I had some claps from the gallery a lot of people said that that was a good shot or I thought it was because it was pretty blind but wound up being pretty far leaving myself with another jump pot or step but I guess happen to hit some metal it was that would have been a great putt to have made to start the round but I'm not mad like I said parpar maybe get a birdie on the next hole but par par and then Birdie on hole four basically guaranteed that's what I'm trying to make happen well number four is 470 feet down the hill yesterday through Destroyer today I want to make sure I can turn something over but it won't go too far so I'm gonna throw my honor instead which is a glidey over stable nine speed I do get that little bit of turn get the nose angle just right it starts to come back and stable out just around that last tree and puts me inside the circle for the first birdie look of the round now if you guys are playing tournaments one of the things that you definitely know is that first 20 to 30 foot putt that you can drill that'll set the tone for your round and so in my head I'm actually thinking about that fact I'm thinking about hey make this except the tone for the round there was a headwind and I just kind of was a little fluttery with the putt I wasn't super confident with putting it on my spotter like committing through the putt so we take another par hole number four 273 up the hill again I'm gonna be throwing my honor because the wind's gonna be coming from the left to the right so I want something that can continue to push but I throw it in a little bit too much hyzer and there's a tree in the middle of the Fairway that you have to get either side of on the short side but that's still leaves me with it inside the circle putt which I'm stoked about now here the wind is pushing basically up my back all the way up this hill and so I'm thinking aim a little bit high it's a Tailwind but when you're putting up a hill Aiming High in the Tailwind is going to push it over the basket and I was a little confused there thought I just shank that putt I think it was actually a relatively decent putt but it leaves me with that 20 25 foot comebacker finally able to make one of those putts hopefully that will set the tone for the round but to be completely honest with you I haven't been practicing putting for a while as I've been working on my form and working on videos and so the pot's not feeling super confident at all and just this start did not really put a lot of confidence in me hole number five here is a 717 foot par 4 very eaglable for the big arms and I'm trying to push this Destroyer straight on a little bit of turn because there's a slight headwind honestly I have to be completely honest with you guys I really wanted to look good on this throw because there were a lot of throws yesterday I was like this is ugly I wanted to not fall off this t-pad still fell off the t-pad and because of that I wasn't focusing on actually committing through the shot and hitting all the way through it so I kind of stalled it a little bit early because I threw it super slow and it put me about four five six feet out of bounds as you guys can see there if you laid me down I'm five foot six I'm probably touching that if you lay me down for the Obi line so I'm throwing a Zone up shot here just trying to get down to the basket save my four pull it a little bit right outside of those trees and lands in the back side of one of those trees which is a very thorny Bush so you're gonna see I have a little bit of a lie I'm trying to get behind my disc but I want to give myself a little bit more space to do that so I'm going to go ahead and Mark that disc and at this point I'm thinking man don't take a bogey my goal is to not go OB for the round as I said at the beginning because OB Strokes cost me eight or nine Strokes yesterday when will be already trying to save the par barely clip off of that but I didn't really have a good putting motion starting to get a little bit frustrated with my round and at this point too obviously it's just cut straight to it but hole five to Hole six is a 25 minute wait because of the card backups here because this is a 901 hole par five not her one feet not 900 foot one hole Firebirds just going straight through that Gap I shorted it a little bit from what I would have done yesterday or what I wanted to do because in my head as I started my run up I had a little bit of doubts so I just want to make sure I hit the Gap I'm about 300 feet away from that Island maybe a little bit less and so I wanted to throw my Firebird again basically it's not a spike Hyster line and land in the middle of that second peninsula there which will give me a nice easy up shot into the green yesterday I hit the island kind of in a really crazy way and then when it would be on the green so I'm trying to correct and take either apart or a birdie ideally the birdie though without going OB again sits really happy with that right in the middle of the island exactly where I want it to be and I'm about to range to the tree that is right by the basket right where that Leaning Tree is the basket sits maybe about 25 feet left and straight under it the tree is about 300 feet actually exactly 300 feet because I arranged it I don't know why I said about so I have a bunch of this in my hand and this is kind of the theme for today it's something that I really noticed and wanted to talk about I'm gonna throw my altar here from birdie disc golf supply warming up with this shot really focusing on hitting it flat to the right basically that second tree that's on the right there the far limb if I hit it straight at that limb flat I'm really happy but recently my flat has been slight hyzer thought it was perfect saw the big skip and the spotter's gonna run over to it and told me that he has no idea what the heck happened there so we're gonna have to make the call up on the green unfortunately but all those discs in my hand were showing that I really am not confident with my bag yet unfortunately we stuck my pole out and figured out that it was just out of bounds by literally half an inch somehow snuck that into the cage to save my par but this is a hole that I really want to burn in I've been playing it so well except for that final shot so tomorrow we gotta get it hole number seven 360 feet Par 3 up a hill over this Lake my play is typically the Anheuser play but there was a Tailwind today so I play a flippy Destroyer on some hyzer push it high and hard and get myself probably Edge a circle maybe just outside of circle look that's about as far as I'm gonna push that drive since I don't have a crazy amount of power right now at all and since we're on a slight Hill I decided to go to the straddle really confident putt there and that makes me start to think maybe I should start a putt instead of inline putting I haven't been practicing a lot of either but in tournaments I've been much more confident with the straddle and Casual I've been much more confident with the inline not 100 sure though hole number eight yesterday it kind of got me by throwing my Firebird into the tree but there's slightly less wind so I'm gonna throw that same exact Firebird on a hyzer line it might pop up a little in the wind I put a really nice spin on it doesn't really pop up but I'm really comfortable with that play because there's a big berm right by the basket that I can probably hit into and sit but if you guys remember hole number six where I saved that part I was out by half an inch same exact thing here so this is for par and I don't mind that because there's OB about 20 feet behind the basket my putting's not been confident I don't mind missing that I'm just more frustrated in that moment that my drive was OB by literally another like quarter half an inch those two drives were less than an inch together being OB hole number nine here 712 feet yesterday I shanked this straight right with my purple echostar Destroyer so I take my Ricky two-time destroyer and mean to turn it over but but this one I don't know if I'm not getting along with it as well as my blue one that I threw into the lake yesterday but this one I really wanted to hit that tree because there's OB left and I found it by about 15 feet unfortunately leaving with this lie I just don't know exactly what's going on my timing seems to be a little bit off all my body is so tense right now in every single throw and I've not been able to find a way to loosen it up yet and I'm just not practice throwing with this 10 spotty yet so I'm gonna need to just continue practicing in the tournaments it is what it is about 350 feet away from the limbs that are hanging down which are about 30 feet in front of the basket so I know I could try to throw something crazy but let me just take my medicine throw a big hyzer maybe get some crazy distance if I somehow put a move into it otherwise make sure I'm in the Fairway because that road does turn into OB as you get closer to the basket leaves me with about 130 foot up shot here just taking my overstable zone gonna throw it on a low flex line that'll skip right up to the basket hit it perfectly but it kind of gets like a really weird straight skip does not go anywhere close to the basket but I'm still only 15 20 feet out and I mean able to make a putt so that brings the front nine to two over just like yesterday trying to have a better round than yesterday obviously this is a course that I know that I can shoot under Pawn these just small little mistakes are costing me a lot so hole number 10 360 feet straight ahead I decided to throw my slightly more stable strike straight at the basket on some highs or wide to either crash those branches or get into the branches luckily finally throw a shot like I'm wanting to throw it and it leaves me with just about a 10 to 15 foot birdie putt I need more birdies this course has so many birdies to give and I'm just not taking any of them but still not super confident a little bit left side we really need to get onto the practice screen after this tournament I'm not really putting between rounds honestly I'm getting these videos up and just trying to rest because this tournament is just like my comeback tournament shaking off some Rust I'll practice putting this week but I don't want to try to fix anything right now before tomorrow honestly as you guys will see it's gonna be a little bit of an issue to try to get back into the cash hole 11 771 feet kind of burn this one into the ground didn't really give it the full Flex that it needed by not giving it the height and giving it a little too much angle this is where things get a little dumb I'm 420 feet out I have my green EcoStar destroyer in my bag in another Testament to me not quite knowing my discs as I'm throwing into a headwind so I put a lot of hyzer on this thinking it would flip up and turn it just flips Up Rides straight and goes straight into the out of bounds again this is where I should have thrown my pharaoh and I think one of the things that I'm going to end up doing as I just throw that disc right back in my bag is actually putting that green disc out of my bag and just keeping the Pharaoh as I learned the intricacies of both of them because it's two slots that I don't know either of them well enough yet since I just finalized is my bag and honestly just got both those discs within like this last week or so and so right now I just need to learn them individually before I get onto having another tournament and being confident putting the both in the bag well number 12 is a 382 foot Island hole which I throw my Firebird on really wanted that to get the skip that I thought it would get which would go straight to the basket give me about another 15 or 20 feet unfortunately it's worth about 45 feet I'm not really taking any time in these plus I'm just stepping up to them and chucking because I have no confidence that any of these are going to go in and I figure hey if I think about it a little bit less I'll probably miss a little bit better and that's been the case but the hole number 13 I've been throwing distance drivers and so I decided to throw a fairway instead to keep it in the Fairway but this strike I have not thrown since I was down at sea level and so I threw it like I was at sea level to hyzer flip it and unfortunately it just stays in that hyzer it gets a little bit of ride and goes Obi again so I'm left with 450 feet up throwing that green Destroyer pretty good shot a little more turn than I wanted this time which is why I think I'm taking it out of the bag for now until I really learn all of my distance drivers and kind of leave it at a very overstable slightly over stable neutral and flippy distance driver before I add those stabilities in between but I have just this pitch up I kind of wanted to try to run this but I'm thinking let me just put it under the basket just mitigate all the bleeding this round is not going my way I'm not going to save it with hero shots I'm not going to give myself confidence by throwing hero shots I'm just going to think that I got a little bit lucky so I'm trying to count on my fingers how many holes are left that one goes a little bit high but I'm not thinking about these putts take a bogey unfortunately moving on to Hole number 14 relatively easy par 5 793 feet biggest thing is just to get your drive over these trees so you have an easy pitch up before you throw a tunnel shot so I'm throwing my purple Destroyer honestly couldn't ask for a better tee shot there stayed on Heiser the whole time got a lot of carry left me with about 120 foot up shot to The Landing Zone before the third shot that goes up a tunnel so I'm gonna do the exact same thing that I did yesterday or at least try to with my crystal Flex Zone but I've been pulling my forehands a little bit left today and that leaves me honestly with a pretty cut off angle which I'm very frustrated about as you can see there ranging to about 250 feet to the basket and trying to think how am I getting down this tunnel because I could kind of step out and maybe try to throw a flex forehand with a flippy disc but I'm thinking instead there's a lot of room up top so I'm gonna throw a Firebird on a spike hyzer try to get up to the basket pretty good on that angle and it gets pushed a little bit more left than I might want but it still leaves me inside the circle with a birdie look which I'm stoked about at this point not confident about how any putts are coming out of my hand just stepping up to the putt not really taking any time picking kind of a name point just trying to tell myself to put it in the basket and again I just cannot capitalize on these birdie opportunities I've been getting opportunities I just have not been putting them even close to being in the basket honestly I've been hitting so much cage so putting is going to be one of the main priorities this week before my next tournament in Pagosa Springs tapping him for the par which is really not a bad score for basically scrambling that whole hole hole number 15 288 feet down this tunnel basically cannot take a bogey if you get out this initial gap which is all I'm trying to do with this Envy didn't quite turn it enough been a little bit timid on that shot but should be really easy up and down from about 65 feet a little bit obstructed so I have to throw a Zone on a little flex line and I just stopped the crap out of it I'm so confused at myself in this moment I feel like everything I'm being so timid about because I am so afraid of taking another bogey instead of being confident that I know how to throw shots and know how to get birdies and I mean that's been exactly what's been happening today and I'm inside of thorns trying to make this putt around another thorn bush really did not have a great look at it take another bogey by just having a terrible terrible upshot moving to Hole number 16 246 feet kind of hard to birdie it's a really tight tunnel all the way down here but I'm gonna throw my strike again the one that kicked straight into the OB yesterday and I hit it perfectly I was so stoked on actually getting through that Gap actually getting out to a great landing Zone to make a birdie putt but again it's a 25 foot putt I'm very much not confident honestly up the Fairway I was telling Randy I was like I don't think I'm even gonna make this putt somehow sneak it over the edge very happy to have gotten that birdie I mean that feels really good I know my round is not going well I have to thank every single part of the basket before moving to Hole number 17 which is a 339 foot par 3. I have a lot of options here again and this again is where I am not super confident in my practice because I'm not super comfortable with my disc so field work putting playing some courses with my bag is going to be on the agenda this week even though I do have some reviews so don't yell at me for those I'm gonna decide to throw my latitude 64 Honor on a forehand instead of throwing the backhand just because it's a slight Tailwind I don't want to push it too far end up shorting it honestly a little bit out of the hand but thought it was still pretty good as you saw I had a pretty like small follow through I didn't really follow through hard but I thought I was probably pretty close to the basket and wound up actually only 40 feet short so not only but 40 feet short here with another straddlepot I thought that was perfect out of my hands unfortunately there was that Tailwind at this point I just every single thing in this round I thought I could go birdie birdie birdie to end it this whole 18 is really a relatively simple birdie if you just know how to execute three hyzers but I mean birdie par birdie not the end of the world still there was a point during this round for a couple holes where I was giving up probably between whole 15 and 11 so I kind of don't know if I can say that I didn't give up during this tournament like one of my goals were but hole number 18 850 foot part five just throw the hyzer because we have a slight Tailwind just want to get to a soft Landing zone so I can pitch up to another Landing Zone which is just across the lake here because I did throw into the lake yesterday I'm gonna throw my strike a slightly more stable one because there is a slight headwind now coming down this hill pretty happy with that out of my hand I knew since it's only a seven speed it's not going to move as much to the left to the right and it puts me with a 250 foot up and down to get the birdie on hole 18 and save a 200 par for my round sorry two over par I do not know why at any point I thought that I was under Park there's a lot of options that I could throw here but since I have awkward footing and it's gonna be a big hyzer I decided to throw my Firebird basically at the light pole or the telephone pole that is just to the right of the basket by about 40 feet I was really confident about that shot before I ended up throwing it and if you watch where my body was aiming it was aiming straight at that tree so I really need to make sure that I aim a little bit right very frustrated as you can see with that hat I mean I think I have a right to be frustrated about this it's definitely not how I thought I'd be playing there's obvious reasons for why it's happened but at the same time I think I can be frustrated about it especially with this up shot where I want to put it under the basket left myself another 20-footer but finished out with a par to leave me three over a part in a 953 rated round so not the end of the world rating wise but not great let's get my final thoughts no excuses we're getting back into it I'm really excited to be playing tournaments again 953 rated for the round still slightly by my rating for the tournament and these two I could have sworn in this round just like yesterday was going to be like a 900 rated round because I felt like I could do no right so not sad that I'm basically shot similar ratings on two rounds that I felt like were terrible sad that I shot two terrible rounds in a row and hopefully tomorrow can be the round that I'm proud of in this tournament I'm just trying to leave those expectations low I know a lot of the mistakes that I made I think a lot of it was just trying to make the aggressive play when I was unconfident about it so I'm going to try to make sure I have confidence before every shot and every pot tomorrow because I had none for all what has it been at this point 133 138 shots in this tournament so far and I think I've been confident at less than five unless you include like the circle one putts which is probably like 36 at this point because they're probably all tapping because I couldn't make a putt outside of six feet but if you guys want to continue following for tomorrow I'm excited because playing an mpo is really inspiring and I know that there are things to work on and in a tournament is not the time to work on them so I'm gonna pair my bag down a little bit for tomorrow and I'll give you that update for what I finally keep in it tomorrow maybe even use a different bag just to shake things up a little bit Something's Gotta change but excited for tomorrow if you want to check out the first round check it out right down there I'm seven strokes out of the cash so if I do something crazy I could get into the cash let's not count it out I'm kind of gonna I'm gonna be confident and aggressive tomorrow until it bites me in the butt but watch that video see you guys in the next one appreciate you guys so much for your support and for always watching and subscribing and doing all those things even just watching so so gotta get to bed okay love you guys bye
