welcome back to Bonanza disc golf and a kind of Stormy looking day today we've got some ominous looking clouds but today we got to talk about the fact that I am already leaving Colorado like for a pretty extended period of time and no it's not because everyone says well the courses are so bad and whatnot it's honestly a lot because of tournaments because my wife is on a trip because I want to collab with some people but we'll get to all that today while we do a front nine practice round for a tournament that I have coming up this weekend it's at two different courses two days three rounds this course West Fork we're gonna play one round at then two rounds at another course which also have a practice round for probably the first day of the tournament before coverage comes out but I also want to let you guys know about shirts and hats that you guys are able to pick up my first run of official March still have some discs left and I figured to give everyone a discount for picking up some First Merch if you want I'm going to be doing apparel boxes which are going to include a hex three other shattered van discs shirt and a hat it'll be based on sizing of the shirts I'm a medium this is a medium it fits pretty good if it's a little snug up here which is kind of how you like it very nice stretchy fabric mostly recycled as well but all that for 85 dollars in a box so pretty limited amount and a lot of that is because I am leaving town in like four days for four for four months that's so long so head over to bonanzadiscope.com and pick it up if you want to this term is called How the West Was Won so if you use htww as a code you'll actually get an additional 10 off today only like literally only for the next 24 hours one is 295 over that way kind of want to push something I'm guessing flat and have a finish I don't think you want it to really spike in because I think there's rollaway potential behind it so I think I'm going to try my Baseline Zone and then a couple other shots as well oh that's way too straight and far all right I think that's terrible I think that's better but I'm not 100 sure I'm gonna throw a couple more that feels like it's the shot Ultra flat that's a nice easy shot and I think we should be able to see if any of those are good so as a lot of you guys might know my wife actually just left on a road trip for three months off the Pacific coast that leaves me alone in the apartment and I still have the van we were initially planning on selling it but I decided I wanted to do some travel and initially was just going to go to Kansas City for a tournament not this weekend but next weekend go down to Arkansas to meet up with the Creator and then come back for an eight-tier here in Denver but I withdrew from that eighth year last night the main reason is driving back to Denver will be 15 hours and then driving back to Kansas City the next weekend would have been another nine or ten so 25 hours of driving instead of five hours is back to Kansas City and spending another week in Arkansas and so I actually signed up for a beach here in Arkansas instead of the eight year here and that means that I'm not going to be back in Denver until after the Disco Mania open which is a week after worlds also none of these shots are good they're all trash I might need to rethrow this all right big goalie I'm way down in a lot of them it is so much more left than you think ultra's not bad and it was the easiest shot so I think actually putting this one on a little hyzer should be good but I'm also going to try the Zone but you have to throw a little harder oh gosh oh gosh I'm gonna set you guys up real fast and then just try these two shots again and then go pick up the ones that are way down there I don't even think I got left that felt inside but if it's good I Gotta Throw it when that feels inside that's a weird hole to start with luckily this is round two also just finished like the fourth time today I've stepped on a cactus already that hurts why are they cacti here stop it all right it just looks like a little more hyzer will work because there's the Zone there's the ultra I think I'm definitely feeling Ultra with it I think Zona a little more hyzer there's so much less rollaway potential but then again the center all the way out of time so real quick I first want to talk about the core situation here in Denver when I got here I heard it said actually about the TD of this tournament that the community in Denver is second to none but the courses are second to most and unfortunately that's mostly just in the Denver metro because these courses are kind of a little boring and I got a lot of comments like that but I think that's also just a different mindset because my mindset is yeah these courses are boring but these courses teach you that you need to shoot at least 10 down to score well and that's difficult skill in and of itself to learn is that consistency of always being on some courses birdie is so hard and the par is not crazy hard even if you miss going for the birdie so you can't really shoot crazy crazy hot unless you're super on but it's a little easier to not really Bogue these courses is easy not bogey but you need to actually shoot really hot and that in of itself is a skill that I need to learn so I'm definitely not mad about that I'd also like how long a lot of these courses can be and how high elevation we are because I found that the elevation doesn't really play with the stability of discs as much as you think more so the Glide meaning you have to put more spin on the disc to get it to have the same flight path and so I feel like my spin even just being here for the two months I've been here has developed pretty consistently I'm spinning the disc a little bit better my nose angle control is a lot better because things will fade on you earlier because of how little Glide there is and I've also really learned how to throw anheuser's being up here so definitely some big wins the courses themselves are not phenomenal there are some Mountain courses that I haven't gotten to yet that I might try to play a couple of and film some videos this weekend and then just like release them over the next few weeks probably like Monday Tuesday because literally Monday I'm probably gonna spend playing some courses and getting ready and then Tuesday I think I'm leaving Denver for four months all right hole two 365 right there I'm pretty sure all the sidewalks are playing path and Beyond so you want to land a little bit to the right you could throw the forehand I think this might actually finally be a Pathfinder hole but at the same time I think about that and I'm like maybe it's actually just an Envy so we'll see about these we'll also try to spike like a Firebird or an honor but I think it's either a putter or mid probably since it's slightly downhill 365. yes thank you yeah really good I'll try to putter real fast I didn't have to throw that 100 power I think honestly might be a pure so glidy that's a little shorter so finally found a hole through the Pathfinder on in the tournament could also try a strike and origin real fast man that cogler strike is such a good Disc Go in oh dang it I love it this so much and then just try origin it's gonna juice it that thing goes so far perfect this Pathfinder I don't really think I got all of it solid shot 20 feet short this origin I think if it switches to tail it's definitely An Origin either way though just like a pure hyzer with a strike like I threw I think it'll be good I just like how much these mids like to sit down a little bit more than a fairway but seven speed is close enough that's why I love that 7502 category it's like my favorite disc ever let's talk schedule real quick this tournament is gonna be Saturday Sunday this week I'm filming and posting this the same day so all this stuff makes sense based on time that I'm posting and then like I said Tuesday probably I'm driving to Kansas City now I need to get a few days of play in at sea level without going to the courses that I'm going to be playing so that I don't freak out when I get there and then this just I don't trust them that way my practice is actually fruitful instead of scary so I'm probably gonna play like Eric McCabe's new course Black Hoof that they design maybe another one or two maybe one on my way into Kansas City because it's like a nine ten hour drive and I'd love to split that into like a couple five hour drives and play like a random course on the way but after I'm in Kansas City I have a four round two-day tournament it's gonna be absolutely insane probably gonna meet up with Apollo disc golf a little bit and then a couple days after that head down to Arkansas in Arkansas I'm going to up with Nate Turner there's going to be some really cool collab series stuff that I do you'll have to keep your eye out for that with all these people starting with Nate and then with someone in Minneapolis and then with someone in Kansas City who I definitely didn't already name gonna be in Arkansas just collabing for about a week there's like a triples tournament that if anyone is in Russellville Arkansas or persimmon Ridge and they need a third for a triples tournament on June 3rd DM me first call people to DM me I think can make that happen because Nate's already got other people to play so we need to beat him obviously and then the week after there's a beach here Arkansas states that I'm gonna play out which I signed up for and then after that head back up to Kansas City because that weekend I'm either going to be in Emporia playing at DDO because I'm 15th on the waitlist it'd be so cool to get into an elite event I'm gonna get my but such good learning experience and if not I have another tournament in Kansas City that I'm already signed up for so I'll bought the tournament this next weekend in Kansas city is actually qualifier for Des Moines so if I get top two somehow I think there's like 70 NPO players so it's a lot of people if I get top two which I'm not expecting I'll get a qualification for Des Moines Challenge and so the week after I'm in Emporia I'm gonna head up to Des Moines more than likely to start following the tour try the Monday qualify there and then at The Preserve and then I'll say probably a little bit in Minneapolis around The Preserve if I don't get in through my qualifying and just collab play composure play The Preserve play Blue urban Pines Place Bryant Lake a bunch of really great courses up there collabing with somebody else and doing some more collaborative series and then the week after that is Kansas City Wide Open which I'm planning on heading back to whether I qualify for it at my tournament at Bedrock or if I'm at DDO I won't qualify and then try to do Monday qualifying for that and then the European swing happens and I don't know my schedule yet so if there are any great tournaments within about five hours from Kansas City around that time please let me know and I'll try to get to them and play them and then I'll be in Ohio in August for my sister's wedding try and hit up some more silver events and we'll see kind of what happens well number three here 397 feet downhill probably a strike but we'll definitely see just straight ahead I kind of just want to take a hyzer with my echo Destroyer so I'm going to try first that way it's just like just a hyzer disc up because when you're on the open you can discount them through hyzers when you're in the woods I prefer to like or hitting gaps disc down and commit so we're gonna try this destroyer and then we're gonna try some strikes thank you it's pretty good color glow and normal strike and I think that's always unique because that ties it with the Destroyer was so good man that thing is not flipped like I think it does it's going to in a couple weeks a little left but that's down there so one other thing I'm going to need as well for these tournaments you can check my PDGA to see what I signed up for is caddy camera literally all that means is you fall behind me with my iPhone and you just press the cord and you just hold a still shot I will probably have like a like a little video you can watch or just chat with me about it if you want so if you're going to be close to these tournaments and I would prefer if people were able to commit for both days or all three days of a tournament everyone who's offered I've offered to like give them stuff and be like oh we'll do it for whatever which I feel a little weird about personally because I like paying people but just not right now on my budget so if that deters people I completely understand that I don't want you to feel like I'm just taking from you but hopefully I can give you stuff stuff of value and if you have any ideas of what that can be please let me know but yeah I parked it with the Destroyer so that's definitely my Play here's the strike right over here about 30 feet this is a destroyer my blue one I pulled it out of a pond I'm so happy I juice the Pharaoh just on a flip up hyzer like 40 long and this heat I mean this Destroyer seems like it's the play just put it on slight hyzer because it will flip up but it will hold the hyzer whereas the blue one it depends if it's a headwind blue one if it's any other win but a headwind that purple one all right hole four here looks like it's relatively similar just straight ahead about 380 but uphill rather than downhill so this honestly probably plays a little farther than the last one plays thing two there's gonna be like an OB bisecting these holes right here so definitely want to make sure you don't go into the road but I'm not even gonna worry about though because it's not something that should come into play but it is 100 gonna get in my head during tournament time which is a little Annoying embarrassing so yeah we're gonna take this Destroyer again might try heat as well slay headwind now oh gosh that's terrible all right maybe try more stable Destroyer flat yeah that's way better skip some place a little long we're gonna try this Destroyer again distrust it at the basket give it the right height the headwind makes this topper I think this whole is playing like 4 30. it's right around the edge of my distance maybe a little closer to that but yes really good short but Circle one trust the height and now for the start of story I'm gonna trust this one on anhyzer starting it not quite at the sidewalk but it should push and glide and fight against it the whole time it's a little domeier than my other Ricky Destroyer which is I think I went back into that gross water to find it quite knows down enough but that is the distance which should be a makeable putt and I'm pretty sure both of my Annie's my Calvin Destroyer as well as my Ricky Destroyer are past the basket right in line so I think I get that Ricky Destroyer a little more nose down or just throw it on the right like width left to right that will ride up the hill really nice all right so still super rainy unfortunately but I gotta get a practice fountain in here hopefully everything doesn't get a little too watery luckily I got like a nice little thing on the camera got five more holes in the front nine and then I gotta shoot another video for tomorrow and no one's got a sponsor on it so gotta get that done hopefully it won't slip and slide too much and hopefully we get some useful practice I waited like an hour but it looks like it's supposed to be like this level of rain for like four more hours rain rounds are fun hopefully it'll look good enough to film and hopefully we don't put any discs close to the water because it started rushing all right hole five here oh geez we might just have a nice little water filter for the horse the round this is a little psycho but I want to at least get these nine holes in this one's 450. over this hill and back to the left I think it's a pharaoh shot I gotta trust that I think it has some stability to it I'm gonna try the Pharaoh and my Destroyer it might be completely unusable but it's kind of fun so we're staying out here and doing the stay up that was actually pretty solid Echo Destroyer it's like the only one in the course that I don't feel like I should birdie everything else I feel like I can get okay I hope I did not just lose that disc there's got to be some sort of like left to right or something what the heck yeah left to right for sure let's see where those went and we have I have to find that Echo star destroyer and then we gotta go buy the hats and shirts please here's that second Destroyer I threw I mean I'm definitely not ripping full power so I kind of feel like I can actually get to this basket just a quick upshot a little long it's out of the circle I can't believe I thought I was about to play another 14 holes in this finish out the Pharaoh real fast even Trasher now we go look for that Destroyer I have to find that disc and then I go home and edit this video sorry it's only five holes hope you enjoyed it hopefully you gotta see why I'm leaving and be pretty cool if you guys have like if anyone has channels and they're in that route and they want to collab I can't promise anything because time frame is pretty tight like getting around in or like if you wanted to come collab and like play a practice round with me as a collab or something like that I'd love to make as much of that work as possible if you want to check out the last tournament series videos check it out right down there otherwise come back tomorrow subscribe because we'll probably end up playing from hole five on honestly again and I'm reviewing one of my favorite discs right now and see you guys in that video subscribe for that okay love you guys bye I'm like 99 sure it's gone forever I'm gonna go take a look at this footage and see if I can see kind of where it went down I'm about to spend the next hour looking at this because I need that disc God that sucks
