welcome back to Bonanza disc golf and to Sunset Park here in Gulf Breeze Florida just south of Pensacola apparently we're here at the perfect time because it is sunset but that means we're going to have to hike a little bit because today I want to take a look at some mid-ranges that you guys have told me I need to check out and one of them hopefully will make my bed because I've wanted it to be in the bag maybe because everyone says it just goes farther today we're going to be looking at the buzz versus the thought space Pathfinder in whatever this plastic is I'll put it on the screen versus the Axiom hex these are all pretty much the same five four negative one one some of them are five one one negative one one and the Pathfinder honestly just straight out the box feels smaller than both of these other ones it might have different flight numbers which I'll put on the screen they're all pretty max weight 173 174 plus 176. so we're gonna play six holes with them hit them against each other I don't think there are any crazy long holes so you might have to make a safari par 4. but I'm very interested to see how these all compare to one another because you guys have told me that the Pathfinder and the hex are some of the best straight mid-ranges out there if you haven't seen my buzz video I'm not the biggest fan of it but hopefully we can have a good time with these other two and the books I guess just we're playing disco it'll be fun now this video isn't technically a baguette or Bennett because I'm comparing discs but if I can't beat par with any of these discs I'm gonna have to give it away today because there's a lot of people on this course so I'm gonna have to find someone to give it away to if I can't beat par over six holes with any of these all right we're gonna get started here on a safari hole the hole is t-pads up there 195 just up and then to the left but mid-ranges I probably wouldn't grow from that distance so we're gonna back it up and lower the ceiling to see how we can get to what would probably be about a 250 foot hole but first this is an ESP buzz and I've always really liked the ESP plastic so really no complaints but it does feel a little slicker than these plastic ah maybe not this thoughts this thought space plastic feels so good and everything that comes out of MVP's Factory which I think makes Classics for mint MVP Axiom thought space streamline they all feel so so good so this this plastic and the hex I think feel better even than the ESP which I really like because it feels like it's a little bit grippier but also not as slick like you can really sink your hand into it and it'll feel fine all right we're just gonna focus on hitting this Gap right here and keeping it low we're gonna start with the bust because I've thrown that before get there very straight I mean that's pretty perfect that's gonna be pretty parked next we're gonna go with the Pathfinder here which does feel smaller but it still feels very good it also feels like it might be a little flippier oh oh not no it is not sit down hit something oh thank you for hitting something that was going OB feels so good oh no well everyone says gyro goes farther so we can blame it Rising on that and not a really bad throw all right we are also going to be putting with these because I really don't mind putting with mid-ranges and just to keep things interesting this hex throw was just so bad especially for a disc that feels so good and this is the one I kind of want to like the most but to be honest the smaller diameter of the Pathfinder I don't know if I'm just feeling that or if it actually is and to be honest I'm probably not even gonna look it up but uh someone would probably tell you in the comments down below these are the ones I like and they feel like I just don't know simple upshot what the hex all right as long as we don't take bogeys I'm happy I don't have to give any of these away today except for maybe the buzz even though I freaking parked it on the first throw of the day alrighty Mr Pathfinder just outside the circle look too low yesterday as I'm filming this I put up a little story about putting and you see I truncated my arm right here if there's a Bend you can't see it because it's really floppy but if I would have actually extended my arm fully I would have made that pot luckily we got I mean unless I do something catastrophic a couple of pars and a birdie here Buzz has the Box heading into our second hole hole number two is here is pretty good for this shot we also have pretty light leaks coming through but we're going to a basket that's up and then tucked into the right you can probably barely see it down there and we're going to be throwing these all on forehand because of the straight mid range you want it to be workable with forehand and backhand obviously the forehand is going to require a little more touch we're going to try to just throw these on hyzer see how they hold a hyzer through this Gap and hopefully skip up to give ourselves a look really really high get through that's bad you really want to keep that low not really falling through on that let's go Pathfinder I swear this has to be smaller diameter no it doesn't look like it I don't know why it feels that way then maybe both of these have very similar rims these might be like the same mold honestly but the rims feel like this part of the rim right here not the edge but this part is a little bit closer to the edge than it is on the bus I'm probably making that up but that's how it feels in your hand feels very good though it feels a little more rounded than it was those two get through it geez that tree likes to eat up some diskis there we go just trust it more still gonna be a little short but not the best showing by me but they do hold those four hands which is solid I mean they seem like they're going to be all prototypical straight flying mid-ranges because honestly a lot of differences and so many discs as I've thrown more and more and played with them are so minuscule it just comes down to how they feel in your hand and what you like and that is a very important thing because if you don't like throwing it you're not gonna throw it well but these might all be the same use might prefer throwing one more than the other so skip straight that'll do a little far maybe oh that just kept going and this that'll do that'll do that'll do all right here's the hex to take a stroke on the card make a good putt extend your arm extend your arm absolutely that simple come from the buzzed oh kind of got to go between this tree oh no no no no no no no no no no oh no all right buzz and hex are under par now with project Pathfinder for being honest because this disc looks and feels so good if I had to put in the bag right now probably gonna be the heck just because I heard they go farther and sometimes you don't have to know something is true to believe silly things from the internet all right our third hole we're gonna back up a little bit to make it more realistic to what would be like more of a middle because it's normally 205 feet straight kind of ahead there but there's just a hyzer gap so we're gonna see how these things hold hyzer the hex has the Box not a lot of flip up I don't think I'm trusting these to be stable I think I'm thinking they're flippy but they're just stable Now The Buzz that's better actually trusting that one and now one more the Pathfinder I think that's the flippiest of the bunch oh silly tree it's definitely the flippiest that Pathfinder is we'll have a couple more holes to test out that theory though take a little back behind the scenes right now this course is so busy and that was actually so much more anxious because I know I'm gonna have to let so many more people play through so I feel like my play right now is so atrocious compared to what it could be but go to a bad play if you're throwing the same discs on similar lines you're gonna be able to tell how they fly differently so it's just reality sometimes y'all sorry alrighty Mr Pathfinder this is a long putt foreign just too high I do need two birdies though alrighty hex get down oh that's a great line well too committed apparently all right this is just that just circle we can make another putt here Moses two down through three I still don't like it though okay all right the hex I thought I missed that I really really thought I missed that plus one minus one minus two Pathfinder you gotta get some freaking birdies all right so hole 14 it says 3 45 to be honest with you it's probably closer like 250 260. straight through there I'm going to call Mando standstill because I'm not really great at standstill shots and I want to see how they'll fly if I really focus on just doing a standstill because that's something that you'll probably do with mid-ranges while you play so Buzz is up first then hex then Pathfinder it's all right those are more stable than I give them credit for much more stable maybe not the Pathfinder I'm gonna test that here but here's the hex laughs get around it oh so lucky I mean I meant to I meant to do that oh wow I really like that line apparently that one didn't go as far as the heck so I guess you could say gyro works the buzz definitely is the most stable which is interesting because I mean I would expect that from the Pathfinder because the Pathfinder is 173 grams so it's going to be lighter which is going to make it a little less stable but it's not super super light maybe it's the Plastics the bus definitely so far most overstable out of the three of them hopefully we can all get birdies though that's kind of a good test of my standstill abilities apparently finding local lines too at least it was a pretty shot right just gonna try to stand still put it though just flakes then oh awesome and for the rest of these boys just clean up this hacks absolutely Parts Lefty putt that's how parked it is it's all clean up so hex is minus two Buzz minus two Pathfinder even with two more holes to go I think we can get another birdie with the pathy findy it's gonna have to make it happen I guess I guess that's how it works I'm bad at talking sometimes guys sometimes you go and film a video you realize you're all tired you realize you're also being a little silly and stupid that's right now but you should still subscribe to the channel because we're always so stupid here and you can be free to do that too if you want more smart I don't make the rules well I got to do it with my channel okay bye well not bye on to the next hole all right so apparently I don't want to keep the Pathfinder because right where that sign is for the t-pad it's 260 feet to the basket so I'm putting us right at the edge of my distance range for mid-ranges which is about 323 and 30 comfortable feet obviously we're gonna call Mando between these two posts so we're gonna see if how far these guys go boy Buzz is not first buses last thank you well I'm glad you're able to see the full flight and how far the hex goes okay whoa that's way flippier holy holy not stable holy far it kind of flips fast that's interesting that's definitely the flippiest the buzz and hex are probably more similar no that's even less stable what all right here's the bus pretty simple forehand up this is just reaffirming even though I got some birdies with it I'm not a buzz belly foreign that's all right that Pathfinder did kind of go but that was pretty flippy for a straight disc because I put that on hyzer it kind of acted more like my fused would with a little more finish like a five six negative one zeros on my fuses that kind of Acts probably most similar to what an actual five five negative one one is there maybe a five five negative two one and honestly because of that I don't even know if I would like to put it in my bag because that's not really a slot I like here's the hacks I think my best straight line there is this patent-pending little anhyzer guy yeah get stable oh that might have gone and if that tree wasn't there but now I kind of make a long putt this is so far oh just short I think we're just outside the circle yep just outside oh thank you for catching I was so afraid of missing that pot right there and we got cars around our sixth hole is hole 16 which is straight through the trees where is it so we do have a highs line here I'm gonna play all these on the anhyzer line and see how they hold turn because we haven't really done that the hex is up first still then the Pathfinder foreign all right that's going to be set down pretty close to the basket I think that that's definitely more stable than the Pathfinder it's but it's really I don't know if it's as stable as the buzz because what's hard is stability versus Glide I think it might have the same stability as the buzz just with a lot more Glide than the buzz has because it does fight out of it probably pretty similarly we'll see when I throw the buzz but it just seems it seems less stable but I think it's just because it goes farther it's like a farther Buzz Pathfinder foreign that is pretty short I thought that was a lot farther I thought that was gonna be parked and it is not all right Buzz let's see how you hold some turn I think one thing that's interesting too is the bottom here this is a lot more like it feels sharper than those two it's not like sharp but it's sharper than the bottom of those and that might help with drag which will make it less glidy that's pretty that's pretty right next to the Pathfinder I think a little I don't know definitely seems like it's less glottie than the hex the hex seems the most glidy but the butt seems the most overstable and the Pathfinder is kind of it's kind of like a starter hex like I feel like more people would really like the Pathfinder I have heard that those baits beats in a little bit fast so that might not be the best but I really like both of those discs I like them I would bag them both before I bag the buzz honestly not in the same spot though I wouldn't put the Pathfinder in the same spot as it was but I would put the hex in the same spot as the buzz seven eight nine sometimes I don't like stepping it out because then you get 31 feet and you're like oh I'm gonna miss a putt now because it's 30 feet I'm not gonna miss it I'm gonna make a putt wearing any underpower with Pathfinder I told you let's go it feels so good to make 30-ish Footers star frame let's go and that's not one of the easier holes I'm not a great anhyzer thrower as you can tell by the spread there it's not something I'm really wanting to work on this off season I guess every part of disc golf is something I'm really wanting to work on this off season but I'm stoked so Buzz versus Pathfinder versus hex in terms of stability I still think the buzz is the most stable least glidey one the hex I think is what I would prefer from this slot it's much more it's much more similar to my beaten emac truth and that's very glidy and has a little bit of finish at the end but you can really work it into a lot of angles this one isn't quite as Glady it's not what I like in a mid so if I had to replace like that beaten slot I'd probably replace it with this and then I have some emacs that are like a little too flippy for what I prefer in that slot and that's kind of where I'd slot this Pathfinder right now I would say if you're looking at a mid-range I would honestly definitely recommend these Over The Buzz just not a big buzz guy to be honest with you so I definitely say for either of these to bag it for me personally it would be the hex I don't know if it's gonna make it into my bag but I'm glad I don't have to get rid of it because I'll probably make a rotation or see where it could go I don't need it in the bag but I know that I got it on Deck just in case I'm planning on doing a lot more gyro for these comparisons and bag it or minutes but if you want to see one of the last ones that I did check out an Alden Harris pa3 otherwise make sure you subscribe if you enjoy my patreon you can tell me which disc you want me to do and I have to make that video I have a lot of those in the works and some of them already on the channel just like this one for The Prodigy F5 otherwise I will see you guys in the next one love you bye
