welcome back to Vivian's disc golf to another tournament we're playing the gyroscopic here in Kansas City we're actually at bad Rock Creek which is the home of the Casey wide open and we're playing the Casey wide open layout I don't have a caddy or a film person today so we're gonna go back to the GoPro on the bag right there you can see nothing's feeling bad nothing's feeling great so don't have a lot of expectations for today that's my last tournament for three weeks and I'm kind of a little burnt out if you guys watched yesterday's video but sometimes that's when you play your best golf sometimes you just play mediocre like you're feeling so hopefully we can muster up some really good golf today if I could shoot on their part here it should be a thousand rated plus so hopefully we can make that happen and a big part of making that happen is making sure that you're ready for the round I don't typically always have this full of a warm-up but it was really nice that they had these Visionary naps I think I also have them Linked In My description if you ever wanted to pick some up started by working on all the angles making sure they're coming out of my hand well forehand and backhand then working on some backhand and forehand up shots trying to dial that in feeling pretty down on the upshot from these distances you need to remember to stay calm stay cool and collected the whole entire round driving putting everything no need to get worked up I've been getting like really tense these last tournaments let's try to just narrow that out for this whole event still commit to shots like there's a way to be committed and like still in control and calm and I haven't found that sweet spot for a couple weeks now so we'll try today and finally with three wins in his uh PDG career including the Argo classic in 2022 check him out on YouTube he has lots of great stuff there from Westminster Colorado Anthony Bonanza massive shout out to MK the tournament director he has run two of the tournaments that I've played so far this year this and the KC flying disc challenge both have been run so well whole one is a 575 foot par 4 that you carry over water kind of hard to see because of the GoPro being on the bag end up just kind of pitching up to this first landing Zone which leaves me about 250 into the basket where I'm trying to just take this Zone make sure to give it enough height because the Miss is long and left and you don't want to hit these rocks early and drop in the water luckily bounce right off the top of them and give ourselves a nice Circle one look there you go really committed on that putt right in the heart of the chains let's hope to keep that momentum moving into hole number two which is a 204 foot Island hole where you can see the basket there my play I think typically is a forehand over the top with a little flex but I decided to throw the Envy today because there's a decent amount of headwind coming at us the Envy did land safe so I'm really stoked on that trying to feel for the win which is not really there but a little bit head left to right if anything should be another easy Circle and make that's it happy that I committed uh but I was a little over committed on that shot end up missing the comebacker from again 20 25 feet and we have missed two Circle one putts able to put that last one in for a bogey on a hole that we were 20 feet from the basket on for a birdie so it really sucks to take a burdogi there and we could see a little bit of a new way that we're taking a look at The Strokes that we gain or lose putting Wise from Circle one and circle two I'm counting it as two strokes lost C1 and if we make a circle two putt then we'll add that back in so maybe it should be two strokes lost c one slash two or Circle putting but that just gets a little bit too long in the bottom left hand of your screen so this upshot here is 390 feet out from the basket it's a 605 foot Par Four there's OB that sneaks to the left in that tree line and unfortunately I slipped on my run up in that shot and it caused me to throw on a little bit too much hyzer and it goes down this hill leaving with a circle two putt to try to save the par get up man stop being about really commit to it was a little bit of a baby on that butt as you heard me say another bogey moving us to plus one now like I was saying on the intro even part of this course plays a decent bit over a thousand maybe anywhere from a thousand to a thousand and ten so plus one is still in that thousand rated Club so definitely trying to make sure that we just continue to take pars and give ourselves birdie opportunities where we take them obviously I'm trying to birdie every hole on this course except for two of them that I don't think I can get but if I'm able to take pars on all of them and find a couple birdies we should have a really solid round unfortunately I leaked that first shot a little bit long in this 835 foot Par Four which is mostly downhill honestly a good tree because the honor was a little bit less stable I threw honor honor there and I really just wanted to flex that first one and then throw a little bit more inside and not land down here because I can't see the basket from about 200 feet out I'm going stand Still Envy just on a slight turnover I think that's a really like cool looking shot that's why I kept the bag back at the top of the hill ends up decent but not great I knew out of my hand that it was a little bit right but it leaves us just inside the circle here with the uphill pump which you should easily be able to run good pace and everything just kept it too low from the basket you really should not be leaving putz uphill low able to tap in another bogey bogey train lives on folks probably everything else we got a decent round I'm just enjoying myself though I know no reason I should play well right now so if I do it's a bonus I was talking with Kevin Kiefer and he's like yeah it's never good to play a tournament not 100 I agree but you know if I'm signed up for it I'm gonna play it this is the hardest one in the course I think though super tight Par Four so if I can bring this one get some good momentum moving into the last bit but trying to find I'm gonna try to find my way back to even if you're going on a parsec if I stay at two four five whatever just cut off the freaking Pokey train hole number five here is a really difficult par 4 624 feet where you have to choose one of two gaps moving down this Fairway I'm going the forehand through the left side so I make sure that finish right because holes up to the right get a pretty decent rip into it but not quite as much as I would necessarily want but really all you need is distance and not hitting trees which you're able to do very well unfortunately because I want to be about 40 feet higher on this hill I have to choose one of these small gaps in between these trees and just throw a lot of hyzer on it trying to get close to the basket again with the Calvin Destroyer end up really hitting the Gap that I was trying to hit which I'm really stoked on and I Leave myself maybe about 60 65 feet with a putt going uphill so again I am going to try to run this there's a slight Tailwind that I'm not really feeling right now but no I'll sit down buddy really really frustrated to have just hit the cage I thought it was good out of my hand should be easy tapping and I don't know what is going on with my pot right now just it's like a sitter like 10 15 feet slightly uphill come on man make a bus so unfortunately the bogey train does roll on to Hole number six 588 foot Par Four there's a pretty specific shot you have to throw here because there's a very specific Gap going left in those woods it's hard to not be able to do what your mind wants to do and you know that you have the capabilities of doing it it's a lot around left this will be a good one to learn how to bounce back definitely a tournament here or at least a round so far that I'm really trying to work on my mental game and stay a little bit positive unfortunately I think I could have made that shot work and I threw exactly how I wanted but I lost both of my crystal Sparkle Heats practicing for this tournament so unfortunately it hits off that tree and gives me this Annie upshot to try to make with the zone give myself a putt and then I can't Bogey and unfortunately I feel like that's actually the case talking to my putter trying to tell it to remember how to go in the basket not for a bogey finally got a part moving us into hole number seven 411 foot par three pretty tight Gap it's a fair fair way but relatively tight for a 411 foot shot I'm throwing my Ducker Destroyer slightly lightweight on a little bit of a turnover it started to fade and then hit a tree which was another one of these Annie upshots pretty simple with the zone and I'm able to basically just tap that one in hopefully I mean my tap-ins have not been tappens recently luckily this one goes in so far apart let's just keep the pars rolling if I par out plus three is really not a bad score at the scores that's honestly what's in my mind of course I'm trying to birdie every hole except for this one and one more because hole number Eight's a 756 foot Par Four that you have to get out of this Gap and because you land on a hill here and still have about 415 feet in it's very hard to actually go towards that tree that's on the right of your screen where the basket's under especially because it's downhill then back uphill so I throw right here and I'm just trying to pitch up my crystal Flex Zone end up kind of juicing it way too much you can see the flag waving on top of the basket it leaves me with this downhill very strong headwind putt from about 25 feet for some reason that's the putt that I decide to be able to make today but I'm really happy to have saved that par because that's what I'm going for on this whole whole nine is a 270 foot part three they actually move this one back from where it was before the tournament because Ricky wazaki had come and played through and made some of the suggestions to the course including moving this from just underneath that last Branch to out in the open because it'll bait a little bit more Fairway plays instead of Potter plays and luckily I was able to hit a gap with my strike and it leaves me with this nice easy putt not so three over through the front nine moves us in a hole number ten which is the other hole that I'm not actually playing for birdie I'm laying up here with my Firebird because it's a 487 foot Par 3 with pretty tight OB all around it so you can't really just like mash one out there you have about 30 or 40 feet in front and behind the basket as a landing Zone I have 180 foot easy up shot here with my zone just push it on some hyzer but I end up throwing it a little bit too hard uh we're going a little about a pill I barely inbounds I actually am touching the OB so I'm going to take my meter and I should have a nice easy Circle one putt to be able to clean up another par so frustrated that I'm not able to make anything right now tapping that in for a bogey on this hole and even though I'm playing it for par it should be such a routine par from 180 feet in with that zone hole number 11 is a 383 foot par three trying to flex my Calvin Destroyer through the Gap here throw a phenomenal shot down the gap oh yeah maybe I can finally not miss a putt God I hope Evelyn is putting well this week because this had to have come from someone we had to like Freaky Friday spot what is happening I just enjoy I might try to straddle the restaurant am I just trying to cry who knows poll number 12 652 foot par five it was a par four last year but PG actually made him change it to a par five because of how hard it played I'm trying to throw my strike through this Gap and just a little swoopy with that hyzer giving myself some claps really frustrated about this putting if you look down at the bottom left of your screen you see I have lost seven strokes inside the circle already today second shot here I'm trying to force over an honor from a patent pending and just didn't quite get the angle right I wanted it to go down the middle of that Fairway ends up Hitting off to the left leaving with this pitch up here with an origin this is my Neo origin super flippy shout out Greg one of my patrons and a buddy of mine he ended up giving that to me right before I left Colorado very flippy one and it leaves us with a pretty decent upshot in now I can try to throw between this Gap and I'm thinking Pathfinder on a slight Flex through the Gap trying to get up to the basket I'm only about 220 feet out instead I see that there's this patent pending and I decided to go with my meta origin my midnight Pro 2. and of throwing such a beautiful shot with it I think that leaf just robbed you yeah it might happen yeah shout out Jason and the rest my car mates they thought that I got robbed for the birdie save very happy to have made that Putt and when you make a putt like that and you're like super relieved about it you know you've had a bad day putting but hole number 13 here is a 364 foot Par 3 Play Slightly uphill there's a little bit of a left to right so I'm trying to leave this Docker Destroyer way out to the left end up just pulling it a little bit inside and it's never going to be able to flex out of that it goes directly OB leaving me with a very simple routine upshot here with the zone I don't know what happened it slipped off my finger early I mean I am having audible problems elbow pain I just I can't blame that that's just so lazy another OB stroke actually I was OB with it ended up missing another inside the circle Putt and I'm about to drop in a six on a 360 foot hole eight Strokes lost from C1 plus seven on the round trying to just let all my anger out on a really bottom of a forehand here ended up misreleasing it high and there's OB to the right thank you so really frustrated about that and here I'm actually gonna be able to take relief because the basket is in the line that I'm walking so I can move pretty far back and try to just bomb this Calvin Destroyer on a forehand ends up hitting it really well but that tree that you saw there actually slowed it down I think I might have actually gotten it pretty close to the basket to save the par unfortunately I am not messing with this elevated basket especially with the OB pretty close behind too yeah this one's like there's been something like I can't dunk a disc I'm like this is unfair that one's elevated for little people so luckily we're talking about the elevated basket and how some of times even if I like pitch up to the base of it I'm not actually able to dunk the disc so luckily that's not too high hole 15 is my least favorite hole on the entire course just clearing off some debris 288 feet I'm throwing my strike through this little Gap end up getting a pretty good rip on it I thought it was actually going to clear the other side it had just hovered over the other side I had Jason call it not myself making sure that my card felt that but luckily they gave me this spot just in Balance I think is pretty fair I've never seen that strike and we'll never see it again unfortunately but we have a pup from about 30 feet to save the par so so stoked on that raising my arms so happy moving us into hole number 16 and at this point I'm trying to get birdies on all these holes but if I par out I know my round isn't good but I know that it's not like the absolute end of the world in terms of potentially caching I throw my Decker Destroyer straight to this Gap I've really been loving throwing on Anheuser through gaps instead of hyzer and it leaves me with a pretty decently simple upshot I just have to curve it over and back down to the right from this Gap oh my gosh man misreleased I've really wanted to turn that over just at all just a little bit and could not put it in bounds unfortunately just out of bounds and so now I need to try to get up and down for the parsai they're way over the top again with the Ducker Destroyer so three in a row with that purple boy end up throwing honestly a pretty solid Spike hyzer Jason who is spotting up there let me know that I actually hit the skinny tree that's just in front of me here and it was going to be even closer to the basket but it leaves me about 50 55-ish feet I've not been putting very well hopefully we can finally have a circle two putt drop don't know a lot of what's different between those two sometimes when your body just like isn't doing anything that you want it like happens for some reason and I have no idea why moving us into hole number 17 very tight tee shot I'm throwing my midnight prowl two just hit that Branch unfortunately and it leaves me with not a lot I'm trying to see if I can go to the left over any of those gaps because it's about 200 feet uphill to the basket instead I decided to throw a forehand roller with my Calvin Destroyer which ends up being a pretty decent shot was able to get this putt from that shot I want it to curl a little bit higher when we hit the basket again which is pretty solid but we don't really win this time we're happy hole number 18 in any of my practice rounds I did not really get a great tee shot I was kind of Landing in those trees that are way out there this is a par 5 over 900 feet trying to get a really solid rip and I throw my echo Star Destroyer because there's a slight Tailwind end up with an absolutely perfect shot right in front of where it's going to be the Gap that we need to throw through to the second Landing Zone it's actually a little shorter than what is 100 ideal but I've decided to throw my Envy just down to that gaps about 250 feet to get there throw it on what I think is the absolute perfect shot there is some OB that lines the area down there but it shouldn't be too much of an issue because it isn't Tall Grass unfortunately some of the lines like this one weren't up against the tall grass so even though it was really slow it did not push it back out into the inbounds it was just barely OB just contemplating that so frustrated about where that was lined and I heard that maybe that line isn't exactly where the teenage wanted it but I knew it was there so I should have thrown a better shot throwing my Firebird on a spike Kaiser from about 260 feet trying to just land it close to the basket because there is OB long and we have the spinal putt to save a par and another parse from Obi only get one that's kind of committed even though it's not a headwind my headwind post today I guess have been committed which is so weird all right that also felt like the worst round of the year it didn't quite feel as bad as the other one because I was able to like scramble say part it's a much harder course eight over is atrocious I was throwing this it's not even great but I mean my throwing was so much better I'm going to take a look at rating real fast I mean it's like a learning experience Two Strokes out of the cash right now High 12th which is like not the end of the world but really not ideal let's see what its rates right now it says 965 which is good because it felt like one of my worst rounds and that's why I like harder courses they're a little bit more fair because people can shoot really bad one birdie and then four boogies in a row and then I was just able to save a lot of pars then I was able to basically par out saving a lot of OB so I was really stoked on that especially with that Circle two foot but anyone could have a bad day anyone could have a good day it's all just gonna be on if I can put the putter in the basket I don't honestly think I'm gonna be practicing a lot of putting tonight um kind of burnt out from the tournaments and I'm just gonna chill tonight and come back refreshed who's been putting in the in the morning oh I think my rating will actually go down a little bit um just because a lot of people who are above me haven't finished yet throw the finalized one up on the screen I played worse than my rating and that's not ideal so hopefully tomorrow we can just come back and have a solid round I'm excited for it I don't think I can come back and win this tournament definitely want to get a top 10 because that's cash and I don't want to get out of the cash so I'm really going to be fighting for that tomorrow keep my cash week live and the only way that I feel comfortable doing that is if I go and get a ton of rest tonight this round took over four hours if you want to check out how I almost got into my first Elite Series event check that out right down there if you want a more fun video where we have last play and check that out right up there otherwise I'll see you guys tomorrow thanks so much hopefully you subscribe okay
