just about a month ago Jesse over at trash Panda sent me out this package and as the phenomenal content creator that I am I'm finally getting around to making a video with it and I told him that and this is all he had to say today we're going to take a look at the trash Panda dune that's cute Jesse always has the best touches on things but inside the packaging here he sent me two of the dunes and this one smells some stickers I'm sure awesome we'll do something with these stickers later but today we're gonna play nine holes with the dunes talk about how it feels how it flies compare it to a bunch of discs and answer a bunch of your questions they had over on Instagram because I want to start incorporating that into a lot more reviews but first off look how cool that is let's go into the course all right so we got the Doom pack here this is 170 this is 175 and I have three discs that we're gonna compare it to two will be the main comparison after this hole first we're just gonna kind of give them both a throw I heard they're super straight the feel is a little deep for my taste and it feels a little bladed like I don't think it's flashing but it's like it's not like flashing but it's not like not flashing slight right to left just gonna put it out on hyzer we are at elevation here in Denver right where they made them so should flip a little bit about 100 sure only 300 feet foreign it's kind of nice go in the basket I thought I aced my first shot oh that is a that's an inner core-esque mid-range flight I will tell you what it kind of just flipped the whole way and didn't really have any sort of crazy fade this I'm gonna throw flat at it okay slightly nose up wow they kind of go far whoa that's 300 feet that just went like a really easy 340 okay we are going to pull these out to compare them actually because I really want to see with this win we have the fuse and the echo which I heard was the most similar we're gonna throw it on that flat line thank you very similar it's a little lower and the fuse I guess is I'm guessing is a little more stable at least this opto one oh I feel like I ripped it a little harder because I thought it was going to be more stable but it wasn't I do feel like the echo is probably going to be a really good comparison this is the first red one the orange one that I threw kind of flat at it sailed it by like 60 feet let's take a quick look at the shape difference between these three first is the Dune which first off really cool little sparkles in here and this one is 100 recycled if you don't know trash Panda story from the side you can see it's kind of got like this downward slope it reminds me a little bit of a Supra in that very domey pretty flexible at least the ones that I have but the one thing is that the bottom side feels a little bit sharp right down here not necessarily because there is like slightest amount of flashing ever right there but because it kind of like just goes straight down after coming to a point which is a little different than the echo here which you can see similar amount of Dome maybe a little bit less a little flatter much more like bladed Edge so you'd think that this would go slightly farther or be a little bit faster so if that's a five speed this might be like a five and a half speed it is a little bit more rounded at the bottom here and similar flexibility and then the fuse has a slight bead at the bottom or at least it seems like there's a slight bead down there very domey similar start up here to the Dune but a little bit more aggressive curve here the dunes kind of rolls off a little bit and I'm starting to get rained on and I need to put the camera away so that it doesn't get destroyed I'm gonna play one more full Mega fast JK I'm not stupid we're gonna head back to the van real quick this should pass quickly that's kind of always how the Denver storms are just a little Annoying that the weather says it's gonna be a perfect day out and then it's not are these raindrops so massive what the heck oh my gosh I hope you can hear that I just got into my van and it just went boom my mic is yelling at me though because it got wet I think so look I'm in the void that's kind of fun first impressions are good like better than I expected good especially for the release point of it being a slightly deeper disc you guys know I got baby hands so if something's baby hands approved especially if it's deep that's impressive I think these are gonna be good comparisons there's one more disc that I haven't brought out yet that is in your Instagram questions the first one obviously was going to be about the stickers and this bag right here is also a recycled bag I've been really loving it because it's so lightweight talked about the company a little bit before almost 100 recycled except for the zippers I have links for it affiliate links down in the description if you want to help out I'll also link to the Dune even though it might be sold out but the cool thing about this is since it's recycled billboard canvas or vinyl whatever it is you can actually throw stickers on it see how she fares I don't have any other bags that you can put stickers on so if that's your thing might be back for you I don't know not sponsored by the oven button this is one I've been kind of using as my daily for a while because of how light and nice it is why did it have to rain dude the rain didn't stop in times the next morning I woke up with three renewed goals first to finish the review and find the dunes closest counterpart the four discs I'm going to be comparing it against two to answer all the questions that you've had about the Dune with over 50 already coming in and three to get the second YouTube Ace with the trash Panda Dune because Jay Milling just had to get one before me whatever dude so these are my first two attempts to Ace with the Dune I picked a relatively difficult hole and as you can tell it did not quite go too well I did have one decent shot though which I guess is kind of redeeming but I'm a quitter sorry all right we're back at it I've gotten rained out again coming and trying to film this video it's literally a week after we started it I left my house again and it was gonna be perfect weather and now it's raining on me already and I decided we're gonna change up the style of how we figure out which disc is closest I've added in the origin which I don't know why I didn't do that because this is literally the disc that I'm bagging right now and the buzz SS so we're starting out on a 250-ish foot hyzer hold but we're going straight into a headwind which will make things a little bit trickier because these are flippy-ish mids we're gonna throw all the discs and then eliminate one disc every two holes until we have the winner of the closest disc to the Dune out of these four that I have which are probably the closest comparisons that I own no that was like the worst throw and it's the flattest once again that opto fuse was just surprising me with how understable it was we threw the origin which I expected to be pretty flippy as well and it was pretty similar to the fuse finishing up with the buzz assess which I thought would be much more stable than the dunes were oh maybe not maybe in the bucket oh I think that tree's like 20 feet in front of it but it felt like it was an ace run Echo with the CTP origin with a similar feeling shot doing also though two for two the disc that surprised me the most in that batch were the origin definitely thought I'd be a lot flippier in the fuse which is just like way flippier which is kind of surprising and I know the fuse comes in like a billion different Plastics so you can find stable ones this just was not one it also feels in my opinion the most difference just a little deeper a little more beaded hole 11 this one is I think 2 30 or 280 straight ahead and so into a Headroom we're not throwing the hyzer anymore we're gonna try to throw the hyzer flip just straight shot see if it'll drift a slight amount but really just kind of want to keep it straight wow did not burn over at all whoa I like that a lot okay oh I slipped on that one but similar flip hold but both the buzz assassin Echo I think you could see their head a little bit more finish yeah origin's a little flippier surprisingly Flippy but the least amount of finish like its numbers would say I think it's the only one that's also a negative one zero even with that though I do think that it's the first one to go because I think it's the least similar in terms of both feel and flight to the Dune I think the fuse might have snagged the CTP though the next one on a chopping block honestly for me is this origin in the first of the two holes to determine that is a 340 foot straight hole that I think will really show us how straight these can push as long as I can keep them all nose down pretty perfect oh I shanked that one out of my hand but it really it's kind of a slow flip and it does not have a finish oh it's a Tailwind maybe that's part of it but also it's pushing left on that that felt like my best throw of the bunch but a little nose up I think foreign there we go there's that high speed turn or yeah I guess like mid-flight turn where all the rest of them if they hit that point in the mid-flight they're not going to keep turning but the origin definitely does origin is the only other one that did make it into this circle here the first dune and like I don't I don't want to say anything too early I honestly thought about skipping the next hole because 355 feet down there I don't know if any of these are reaching them even with a slight right to left but this is gonna be much more full power shots jeez what the heck so needless to say I didn't really expect to push a mid-range not past flat and get there I think that's a testament to the lack of finish of the Dune because these streamline Echo and disc scrap buses that shots were honestly pretty much carbon copies they flipped up wrote on the hyzer but they did have finished so they didn't really push all the way to the Dune the origin I definitely expected to fly a little bit differently kind of on the opposite end as compared to the dune sometimes you know when you think you see something from the t-pad and it doesn't end up being the case I was still believing I was like 40 feet short and I was just going to get up there and be like oh whatever but this is where the dude landed this is a 355 foot hole into headwind right to left cross profile of this disc I didn't think it would go the farthest but it just like doesn't move a lot left to right I've noticed when I really power up on it it starts by flipping up and then it just kind of like holds it and Glides on it which I honestly I don't quite understand and I don't even know if Jesse understands but the one thing I really want to see is how they handle just being thrown out there on my stock like flatter shot okay that is slightly nose up not good A little lean back on that that's lower and worse nice it does not seem to have like an aggressive turn though but sometimes you like sometimes that's why I like the origin because like kind of aggressively turns and a lot of that comes from having that late flight where it's going to start to turn and it's going to keep pushing much better shot very similar to the first dune not just bombed I don't know which one I felt like was more similar because that is not a shot that I'm very good at I typically will just throw the hyzer or a more overstable disc on anhyzer because I'm trusted a little bit more interesting I think this parks a little lower line definitely need the height but it just kind of holds and pushes it seems like flat it doesn't really want to turn too much anhyzer it just holds it really feels like kind of like a five-speed glitch flight ask foreign at least of the discs that I have ever thrown seems slightly unique out of the box honestly one I wasn't expecting and two I hate saying about this because everything is so similar to so many other things but it does seem to have a tad bit extra Glide that doesn't accompany extra understability which is not normal yes this was the echo inside the circle nice and the dude is parked last hole to throw with these and I honestly don't know which ones on The Chopping Block right now it honestly kind of feels more like the echo like this run specifically about assessors this z177 plus banana Club bus SS because obviously runs and whatever wear and tear is so different arm slot matters a lot for how this is gonna fly like right now with my like distance which seems to be averaging in like the 4 to 425 range this seems to fit very well and with my stock shot which is the slight amount of hyzer so all that's going to be a factor and feel obviously a part of it too which is surprisingly for being so deep I love how this comes out of my hand if you notice we switched holes no you didn't I was great at the last hole I don't know how much that last hole showed us but before we get into the Instagram questions I don't know if there is a direct comparison for the Dune out there on the market but I think the closest of the ones that I compared surprisingly to me is the buzz assess I thought it'd be the echo but the echo just kind of sucks see it won't even go in I've tried this like 10 times now that was my best take and it obviously sucks because it couldn't even go in I did not think that was gonna work so first off on Instagram these were just not questions and then these ones I didn't understand because I'm not a nerd just kidding I just have never seen or read didn't then I got some questions that honestly made me concerned about your guys safety like how yummy nummy delicious is it and does it dip in chocolate milk good or no are you guys eating your frisbees please don't but I did not like smell anything weird and it obviously didn't taste it but apparently there's something on the Internet that is going around that I don't know about I feel like I answered most of these questions as I was reviewing it in that part of the video but the answer is it flippy I'd say the out of the box it's not like Flippy but it will hyzer flip up to Flat because it does seem to have a decent bit of torque resistance which I was pleasantly surprised about another good question of is it actually like neutral stability or do you think zero zero is correct I think I'd honestly give it the negative 0.50 that they gave to the inner core this is the more stable One the red one actually took a little bit of wear and tear flip up the flat don't really turn too much and you just kind of sit down like there's no fade now all of this obviously is in Denver you can probably see some mountains in the background there we're at 5 000 a sheet of elevation and so the next question is what does it fly like at sea level and even though I didn't get the chance to actually throw myself at sea level asked a couple buddies Apollo disc golf and Josh over at Jamie Lee disc golf and this is what they had to say so how does the Dune fly at sea level slightly understable like I think Jesse has the turn on this at like negative one and fade zero I would say that's pretty accurate here at sea level I even threw your little nose out but it's still like yeah it's still turned and yeah you definitely want to put hyzer on if you wanted to go straight here the salmon Dune that I had was kind of more like a beaten Buzz that had a little bit of a flip up and a straight finish while the purple Dune that I had was kind of like a hex like more stable had a little bit more of a stable finish I got a lot of disc comparison requests and honestly I didn't have some of them like the md1 the spruce the Gateway elements and some of the requests like the Pathfinder and the hex the Dune is more neutral than both of those discs and so for my very limited experience with these dunes and with each of the specific discs that I have I'd say that to answer the question of what other production disc does the Dune most closely resemble it'd probably have to be that buzz assess quick rapid fire round before the last couple questions does it Yeet apparently because I buried a 355 foot hole ignoring the recycled plastic should people throw it compared to other brands I'd say not necessarily it does finish really straight which is really unique but a lot of the selling point is the fact that it is made out of recycled plastic because it's not worse than any other disc by any means plastic compared to echostar I'd say is honestly pretty Sim similar if anything slightly Slicker and gummier will this disc make you better not per se but I think this class of disc will definitely make you better I'd say that this is one of honestly the more beginner friendly ones because I found that it is a little more gracious on the nose angle is it better than the inner core they're different discs different categories of discs so I would say like in general no but for me honestly yes because it feels more comfortable to throw for me personally does it feel like a normal disc 100 almost all this are a copy of the successful mold how is this an improvement and the main way obviously is that it's 100 recycled I think that that in and of itself is an improvement over other molds but the thing that I think that's set it apart for me at least is it seems to be very highly torque resistant I'm not feeling like I need to like baby it in any real way but it also has very minimal finish which is a really really good thing for the next question we're actually going to be throwing it into a headwind just to kind of further explain my point because the question is why do I stink and turn it over first throw with it was amazing now I turn it over every time and not seeing you throw I have two guesses one is that you're throwing it too fast for the spin that you're able to give it so to do that I'll typically slow down my throw and focus on snapping it more and spinning it more because the reason a lot of things Turn and Burn is because they have too little spin for the speed that you're trying to throw them at it's like this is the flippier one I'm just gonna try to throw it on like a useful hyzer flip into the headwind slowed down a little bit gave it some spin and is still able to get out there pretty good the second reason is the main thing that I'm guessing which is you're probably unintentionally throwing on more anhyzer this is something that I did a lot as well and this is actually the video that helped to start the journey towards fixing it for me if you want to check that out also link it at the end of this video but what I was doing is I would run up and I would turn away from my Target and so I'll be back here and so I would have to round going this way and it's really hard to throw a hyzer when you're going all the way around your body and so you're probably unintentionally throwing more anhyzer on the disc here I'll show you and so even though I try to throw I legitimately try to throw it flat you see how much Anheuser comes out on that which is why you probably are throwing more overstable discs a lot of times so if you can't throw hyzers honestly your form probably needs a little bit of work that video will help I'm gonna throw this as hard as I can into a headwind but I'm gonna put the right amount of hyzer on it hopefully to not let it turnover oh that's on the road nice is it made of sand no that was last at the rapid fire but there's three more really important ones and the first one is can you get an ace with it can you Ace with it in Furious throws than J Millie why weren't you the first to get an ace with it it's always your own audience you know always your own people now we got a couple requests of lines to throw with this disc make it through roller boom roller flip it rolled I'm just really bad at this summer line 106 feet now finally we'll actually do a shot that I'm like relatively decent at with these discs how does it forehand you're gonna really need to focus on giving it that finger pop the spin more than the arm speed similar to how that'll just turn over your backhand you're gonna get too much flutter in the forehand two turned for me it's really getting intentionally bent so I can throw a deeper hyzer with these because you gotta put more hyzer on them especially to give them the right height look at that it'll work I probably would forehand it much but if you're an exclusively forehand player it can still potentially fit into your game just need to be a little more touchy with it and finally the most important question I love the Recycled concept but is it good enough to make the bag and honestly I would have to say yes surprisingly I was a little overhyped on the inner core initially when it launched I love the concept I think it's a good death I've aced with it but it shouldn't have stayed in my bag because it was a little too slick whereas these I was very skeptical because I didn't want to oversell it again they more and more and more draw me the more I threw them but right now I don't think that they're going to take a spot in my bag because I feel like my bag is relatively solidified and I do love my Origins and my Pathfinders someone's literally in like a big tractor and they just like stop right next to my van so the last big question that I have is the durability which is another question you guys have posed as well initially I thought that they were really good they've hit some trees for sure but this red one when I threw it on that big anhyzer over the tree on that Par Four and it smacked the ground I think something happened with it it does feel a little bit more flexible just out the gate then this one did and that might have something to do with it and it's still I think a really nice flying disc but for someone who needs to rely on their disk in competition because that's the main thing that I'm focusing on for right now I think the Dune is not going to have a place in my bag but if I ever didn't like the origins this is probably gonna be one of the first cysts that I actually turned to to replace it so more views in this style will be coming soon for you guys if you want to check out my initial inner core video which had way too much hype in it check that right down there or if you want to check out the video that I referenced about throwing on a bunch of Annie check that one out right up here this is day three and 365 days of uploads if you want to subscribe I mean a ton to me I'm trying to hit a hundred thousand at the end of the 365 days of dailies I'll see you guys tomorrow
