My Birthday Round Did NOT Go as Planned...

hey hey today is my birthday so I thought we' do a little chill round I'm going to be filming and posting this on my birthday but we're at Adam's Hollow which is one of my favorite courses in the city for now it's got some lines that you have to shape and in order to make it a little more difficult even though as you can see the wind is kind of ripping today we're going to do a training session just like how C Allin and Joel Freeman like to do them they'll throw a backhand and a forehand and then they'll take their worst shot today I'm going to take my first shot whichever is a backhand or forehand but I really need to warm back up my forehand cuz it's not been feeling good my wrist has been a little clicky clacky I've been doing some kind of tendon strengthening for it to make sure that that stops in the next month or so but we got some exciting stuff to talk about uh that I just signed up for today we'll go through a quick in the bag before we get on to Hole number one and talk about which Putters I'm using still doing putter Wars still haven't fully decided yet but I do have a tournament on Sunday that I have to kind of train for which is the point of today I got to feel good at this golf so this in the bag still isn't complete for the season yet I think really where infinite's lineup Falls shorter of the rest of their lineup is in their mids and Putters so I'm not sure where what I'm going to be using using from them and I only need to bag one infinite mold but I like a lot of their Fairways and drivers so we'll see if any of the bottom of the bag turns out to be from infinite first off in putter in the putter pocket these are the two that I'm really testing right now The Clash disc Popcorn versus the birdie Disc Off Supply Marvel this is 2301 this is 3301 I believe everyone said that the Marvel was like a P2 and then someone commented if you commented this thank you so much I forgot who it was the Marvel was only a little bit deeper than the dis meaning of logic like by .1 mm and so I was like hm the P2 felt so much deeper let me have birdie send them out so shout out for Derrick for hooking up these stiff blends and they do feel like they're not quite as deep as a P2 and the shape of them feels a lot better we'll get into that more during putter Wars but surprisingly these have been holding up to wind and these are making a run for it I thought the popcorn was going to make a run for it cuz I was not missing pots with these but these are kind of overtaking it we'll PO with both of these a little today just to practice I have Zone back in the bag there's going to be a lot of discs that I think come back in the bag from last year cuz I was very consistent and trusted them and I haven't found great replacements for them yet so Zone going to be back in the bag a base and a premium Envy we have two chariots this one's a little flipper than this one I think this is where again I'm going to need to figure out this bottom of the bag lineup I might throw a throwing marble in there since it is a two-p speed and I like two-p speeds if I do end up putting with those whatever I end up putting with I'll probably have one of those throwing Putters as well I really like how it feels in the hand I don't know if it'll take every slot for me though because this one I was trying to make work for that flippy slot like that origin midnight prow 2 and it just got a little bit too much late stability I just want it to keep drifting I'm honestly really debating as to whether or not I need an overstable mid-range I'll probably end up putting one in the bag cuz there are some shot shapes that can be different with it but it might just be zones it all depend on how much power I feel I get back on my forehand cuz I have a lot more touch with my backhand my forehand might need that in between for the fairways into control drivers we have the Halo Centurion which is kind of Flippy one I do love James Proctor so I like having this in the bag but I'm not sure if this is going to be my seven speeds yet I really love athenas I really like strikes from birdie last year I threw those all over the place so that's still a slot that we'll have to figure out I have about a month from now to really dial in the bag a sphinx metal flake Sphinx I think I'll always have a sphinx in the bag I love the late turn it goes so freaking far it's great roller as well uh so really love this thing I have the dynasty here which are kind of a heer flip up a step up from the Sphinx maybe two steps up and then I have a scepter which is a stable 9 seed and I have a cap wrap in here for now then my favorite disc in the lineup I think right now or at least one that I've been using the most since we're in hydrail Colorado we have a Halo Roman and an ESP blun Roman this one is much less overstable than this one this is much more like a faster Thunderbird I'll probably end up reaching for this one if I want something to just hold and kind of dig on a Hiser and this one for something if I want a little bit more distance or to really kind of shape something lastly for distance drivers so far I think these are pretty well dialed as to what they'll end up being for the year we have this ey blend Pharaoh which is my really flippy guy kind of a roller disc as well if I need it to be but really late late turning disc this one is Big shout out to my buddy Matt who is going to trade this in end up giving it to me it's a splatter s blend Pharaoh I love the stamp that's on this guy I honestly haven't thrown it too much and I have thrown some of my S blend bananza stamp with pharoh those might go back in the bag if this doesn't fly exactly like those but I really like the stamp on this so I'm keeping that in the bag for now we have an interval which I love super straight almost an 11 and 1/2 speed feels a little bit smaller than the 12 speeds like I have in my hand here and doesn't really move as much left to right we have two Emperors I honestly might need another emperor that is kind of a step down from this cuz this one I still kind of have to flex I want one that I can pop up Let it turn a little bit and then finish this one I have to flex to get that flight the interval doesn't quite drift as far right to left and sometimes you do want that shot and then I have a really overstable one right here very much a wind fighter and then a conqueror for just it's old pd2 mold if you need some beef you got it I want to give a big shout out to my buddy broadrick if you haven't checked out his YouTube channel you definitely should but he recently posted just a practice round video having a blast he was in North Carolina so that looks a lot more fun than this course is going to be we either have very similar ideas or I'm copying him whichever one you want to think but big right to left here I think my play is actually going to be up the middle Gap I do like just the big wide Hiser especially in this wind but that's a little bit more boring and uh I got plenty of practice throwing hisers I actually might like the forehand first even though it's only about 3:15 I think we're going to go with the interval on a heer I think I can reach it with my slower discs but I did figure out something about my forehand that I think is helping me sit down yeah the wind kind of stopped it up I think that's still 30 ft so we'll have a little putt to make here is kind of The Chariot of the gut nice really got to hug that right side makes me a little uncomfortable but trusted it with the right to left so I actually played a couple holes to warm up before I even turn on the camera which I think I'm going to start doing a little bit more often cuz sometimes of these videos I just play like trash but with my forehand I threw a Roman and I realized I was trying to come around with my body before my front foot even planted and so what I did on that one and what I'm going to try to do more and more as I try to rebuild my forehand having not worked on it since October when I went and visited with Drew jeez that's forever but I'm really going to start focusing on planting and then rotating staying coiled until I plant and then everything can come around and honestly one thing that I threw a pretty powerful forehand earlier that I noticed is I opened up this hip similar to on a back hand how you want to clear that front hip really planting and then opening this hip and just snapping through and following through very forward that's something my buddy braen sides taught me when I was in Georgia cuz I was really putting my hand in my pocket and that's just not a good follow through got nervous that I was on camera not even going to lie that's so embarrassing there we go dang think that's a bogy to get started this windy practice is good though we have a winter storm rolling in tonight and then the little C tier it's only one round tournament that I'm playing on Sunday it's likely to going to have some wind and probably some snow so less than ideal conditions but I need to play that because I'm trying to get signed up for the five approacher events that I'm planning on playing this year I haven't come out with a full schedule yet but I'm trying to sign up for a few of them that are in wave two opens up in about 2 weeks for someone who is 990 rated but later for someone who is 970 plus and right now I'm 988 rated so I just missed that cut off luckily this happened earlier today let's go baby just got my haircut and oh I'm shaking because I was so nervous weight list for 970 plus I was 988 rated and 990 plus got to get weight listed or sign up to tournaments the first wave of dgbt sorry a lot of energy it's 11:01 and I waited till perfectly at 11:00 I had all of my stuff pre-filled in on dis Golf Scene I was ready to go and I got signed in I made sure my PayPal was ready to go on my phone cuz I don't have my laptop first person to get on the weight list in the 970 crew for both Waco and Austin so I'm number 20 for Waco which there's a chance and 23 for Austin so I'll be there no matter what but we're on the waight list baby I was so worried I was going to miss it but we didn't miss it and W and Austin are going to be some pretty popular tournaments so hopefully we can get in earlier but I have to I I've already talking about that in this video what am I talking about um back to that one but I was excited let's go so I might be able to get into those two tournaments which is really exciting but I don't want to have to just wait on that wait list for these next ones that I'm trying to get into and so if I shoot I think I calculated cuz I had like this ratings predictor sheet that's always been pretty close if anything a little conservative but but I if I shoot one 1020 rated round because of the drops that I'll have and because of that being added on I should get bumped over 990 rated and if I'm able to do that then I can sign up early for these next couple tournaments otherwise I'll just have to try to Monday qualify or get in through the weight list again I should be there regardless I'll come out with that schedule soon as I finalize all my travel for the beginning of the year since they just announced the Q Series which I released a banana froth video on earlier today just kind of giving my first thoughts on it so I'm trying to train a little bit more with this bag and figure it out since I have this weekend that I really need to worry about and shoot a really good round cuz I think you have to shoot 14 under at this course uh which is really unfortunate at Colorado courses because it's so hard to shoot poorly when they don't give OB and they make some really easy pars but I can complain about it or I can just do my best to make it work and that's what I'm going to try to do pull two is going to be 510 ft uh Par Four it's going to be hard with the forehand especially because we're going straight into a headwind but I think backhand will throw an emperor and try to force one over and get some good distance in the wind and then maybe throw a pharoh on a forehand since it'll ride the wind on the Hiser oh get out of it oh dang it oh wow grateful I don't really have to throw any forand this tournament holy cow much better stayed over that one with my chest a little more oh that was a good shot for being pretty flat this is a range I haven't really been super comfortable with recently as I've been focusing so much on distance My Touch has definitely gone to the Wayside slightly thought it's might be a little short but on the dance floor it's always fun when the forehand that got a full flight after you skipped it across the ground gets a little farther than your backand wow Anthony Throw It Wide jeez who Dude using zero my legs for those putts so interesting to me whenever I like take my own bag out I always add this like layer of expectation to myself I think sometimes attracts for my play cuz when I'm just playing with whatever I'm like oh I can just have fun and then I just kind of throw and now I have my bag it's like I have to play well which I think I need to one learn to work through that and still play well regardless of kind of the expectations I'm putting on myself but two less than those expectations because I know I can execute all these shots and when I don't that means I'm probably tensing up a little too much for no reason I really hope we can make that P focus on those new cues we'll throw mvy here on the backand m a little over rotated that's better that one I kept my chest down focused on the mechanics of pulling it through an anheiser and uh went a lot better cuz I was talking with Ganon actually we were FaceTiming about some stuff with his YouTube channel and we were talking a little about my form and one of the things that he notice is like because of the way that my elbow gets to here and like I have to come here it's so I can like basically only throw hisers or when I do throw an anheiser it's a controlled grip blck instead of when you watch him or Isaac throw it's very it just stays on anheiser the whole way and just gets thrown on anheiser and I feel like that's what happened with that second throw and I focus on kind of that internal queue so if I'm throwing more aneis I'll be focusing on doing that just that external queue might help me to actually reach back and pull through on the correct line even through three another thing that I really have to learn is to not spiral when I don't get birdies cuz there's a lot of courses that I play throughout the country that are my preferred style which is where you don't play well through the first couple holes but that's okay because you don't have to score crazy well in order to shoot a really good round you have to course manage and that is not Denver courses they're not course management courses they're scoring courses and so I can start to spiral if I'm like plus one through two or even through three like this but then I have to remember there's 15 holes left and I'm good enough to booty all the holes maybe I don't get them all but still getting to 10 is a good round it kind of feels like the end of the world if I only shoot five or six but even then it's like it's just one round and that doesn't matter that much at the end of the day I wonder if I can get my Dynasty there or my Roman but I think we're going to throw the interval and just kind of throw it flat hopefully put it close and tap in another one that's money that should be about 20 ft I did put that a little more higher than I wanted and kind of fell over my brace a bit but we got to try beforehand so since we're in the tail we'll try to just flick this pharoh sneaky yeah okay wow my forehead feels so weak but that's down there a little bit and we try a Roman I love that disc dude it's just a laser beam yeah I mean that's all the distance and more but that's why I think I need to throw a driver on this hole until I can get there on Heiser with my NP speeds cuz that Roman I threw it flat and got there but it just went straight whereas the driver will move a little bit more left yeah that Emperor is getting really good that ey blend one o that is parked parked not a bad spread here Dynasty probably about 35 short the pharoh actually got a little farther than I thought it's over there in line with the trash can nice inside the circle but then the Romans inside the circle perfectly pin High it is a little tail left to right so that wasn't like the best one for that hole but still pretty favorable nice whole five 4:15 straight down there basically more of a straight tail at this point the wind's a little swirly today but I think just a wide Hiser probably with this Emperor just cuz I know I can like rip it out there flat and high instead of Hiser and high cuz I don't want it to get taken too much left a little more Hiser than you want sneak a is okay now it's okay looking at that flag now it's more of a right okay oh too much heer out of the hand shoot I do think with how much that moves to the left I wonder if maybe Roman or Dynasty out to the right won't swing as hard okay I hit this I hit the route but that was going to be perfectly parked so I think that's the play is kind of slightly slower disc oh that dynasty is good that was a good rip too that was my best throw of the day so far for doing what I wanted to on the back end yeah that's money these are flying better I'd felt very pessimistic towards my forehand and it's so silly cuz I literally just hadn't trained it so of course when you start working on something it's going to get better but if you have some muscle memory like I do with having like a solid forehand it'll come back faster but I'm still expecting this to take 1 to 5 months to really feel really really good oh he yep I ain't high on a headman foot that was best part of the day replicate it let's go all right so this one it's around 320 I believe we're kind of going into a headwind so I think we're going to go this ey blend Chariot just leave it out there on a little Hiser not flat cuz I don't want it to drift and if it pops up that's fine seems pretty good flipped up it might be a little right but that's fine and this might be where we throw this emperor okay head one definitely I started running up and I felt the head one start to come up but we're going to try to throw this it's kind of a back door route that I never really try but seems like it's there that was the cleanest forehand of the day even if it's not going to be good the fact that that wasn't was a bad result but felt good I'm taking positives away from that if it felt good but it was a bad result you can work off of that I think this hole alone just made the case for me to bag a more stable seven speed cuz that was sketchy and it still only got to he fine I think that skipped right up to exactly where I wanted it to be since we got tail I think we're going to go this electron firm Envy I think it's in the exact same spot as the beforehand but sometimes you got to come back to earth with your limitations of your poorly thrown for hands now we got a decision to make with this Tailwind Envy is Right Where I want this one to be oh left dang that's the part I want from the drive you guys have been here a while you know that for some reason this is my Nemesis hole whole L straight her feet it's straight ahead I think if I really want to wrench on something this is a little more forgiving for me so we'll go cap WP this is why this memesis holds all this wind just die just die just die just die I got that so nose up that's what I was worried about I need that shot with the cap WP no stress okay with the right to left thinking this envy and just a touch Annie at it and it'll just flatten out and stay straight or touch a Hiser and let it do the same well if I threw that the first time this would no longer be my Nemesis hole we get along me and EnV we got a good relationship they might stay in the bag for the whole year who knows I do think I want to slower Potter which is where if I do putt with marveles that might come in for driving Potters it's hard to beat that thing and I'm sure I could beat one to crap to make it really flippy we're living in safe bid territory I can see the basket o all righty I think we're going same basically same shot 290 a little shorter just a little more turny and just let it sit down flat might even be a little more overstable one but I think the way I've been throwing this thing un like Heiser flip up to Flat has been good but we got to figure out this cap wrap for like how much anheiser I needed to throw on it to actually throw it good A little shinky Doodle come on come on come on come on it's a little far and way right but makeable butt yeah I knew it too man just over rotating that brace got to get comfortable popping that hip up septer 1 I think that would be my actual play yeah look at that baby now I'm scared for this one cuz I thought that was going to turn a little more yeah look at that way nose up but the right angle on the nose up I also want to see how both of these fly against each other cuz I do like throwing a putting putter okay very straight I thought that would have a little more stability so I put it on touch Annie into the wind not a good idea popcorn I threw on Heiser and that's in the basket or too long o i I'll throw the other Marvel why not this one I think I think I think the popcorn feels better to throw this one almost feels better to putt cuz that little Ridge is like perfectly the size of this knuckle to this knuckle when it's diagonal and so it fits so comfortably in my hand oh that is nice whoa scepter is money honestly I really prefer this to the Halo ones just I think it's just so much more familiar to me and like it's very very similar to that run a champion that I did so it feels super good little right aim right at it there you go 2 through nine is a pretty slow start for me out here not going to lie but whole 18 today we're going to Eagle it my throws I don't feel the most powerful ever today but I definitely feel like I have enough juice just got to stay over my shot and commit to it this hole I really like it's 385 you see that big Leaning Tree it's about 25 to 30 ft past it so you hit the Gap you're pretty money I think I could also get there with a forehand on a good day which we'll see if that's today or not but my actual shot is either a dynasty or a sphinx I think because of how much Hiser I like to throw and how straight I want it to stay I think we're gonna actually throw a stinx okay really missed my aim point but that's why I throw the F that got through exactly the line that I wanted that's why I love that thing here is the dynasty just a little flatter oh that's the shot if it doesn't hit anything I hit something those two dist I get along really well I think we'll try this Pharaoh on the forehand fight out of it oh my gosh I'm fine with that my releases are getting so much cleaner just during this thing all right yes I can thrw aiser for the forehand again well one time my shoulder is definitely feeling it cuz it it uses slightly different breaking and throwing muscles um Agonist and antagonist muscles if you will if you're super fancy but it doesn't hurt at all it's just like hey you're using me in a new way you weirdo so try this emperor okay A little nose up fall over my brace on that one but I think I'm throwing 3504 hands again that's why I love the Sphinx we're parked this is the Heiser flip Pharaoh so my body definitely has to get used to this movement pattern again feels like there's light on the other end of the tunnel which is good wow need to beef up there buddy good late finish though and we got tail input wow that was that straightened out get through it's not bad at all there you go that Roman's pretty stable I like that a lot that just epitomizes that like 27t range for me slightly out of the comfort zone it's just a reps thing it'll get dialed Tailwind 360 I think a pharoh forehand basically trying to keep it on Hiser is pretty perfect but I think we're going to go Centurion on the backand just on a pretty deep Hiser oh inside little nose up interval maybe flat wow okay those flatter driven lines are much better for me that was really good get the legs involved baby interal was money it's might be my forehand disc right now it's just very forgiving since it seems slightly slower it's much more like a kid to uh nice neutral wraith I found oh no it's not dang it didn't turn it over at all this will be a fun forehand to try I think we'll try Dynasty sneaky oh what that was sweet wonder if I maybe should even even though it's only 350 like dis up to the stable Emperor I honestly think I just need to throw a good shot conqueror that's money I think this is the perfect time to have used that conquer and I totally forgot I had it in the bag all it's going to be a little tough out here sit yeah that's pretty good weak sauce use the legs living in bogeyville dang back to 300 then move the next tole into the longer position which I'm stoked about makes it a little bit harder sneak under oh yeah cheating baby let's go yeah I definitely need to get a non ESP one a little more overstable one there but that's down there more I'm really happy with that 347 with a little Tailwind I think this is where we pull out the color glow Chariot that Joel Freeman gave me cuz I think if we put this on some Hiser It'll like stand up the whole way I don't think it's fli be enough to Really Turn and Burn now yeah definitely different category than those discs but I think that's pretty perfect also good just have to leave a little more right I think this is where we try out the interval again a little nose up still but it's getting better basket is 580 on the dot we might try a silly little backend line over the top of everything but because it's mostly head with left to right I feel a little less confident so probably just bust something up the middle it's a fine shot I'm throw this Emperor honestly just try to pierce through the wind wow are you kidding me I did something I wanted to with the forehand that's going to be money too so that tree if we're in line with that that's 365 the one that's out there that's so clutch all right we'll try a really fun big shot with this Pharaoh ride it baby oh a little flippy I think that's money that's still down there though that's that's a pretty good pump probably right at around 365 370 which is pretty pretty solid want to put a little more inside of that even that's 25 ft though yeah we're going to Johnny Roberts and practicing some touch shots before the season starts in Earnest here we'll get a pretty accurate read of this guy for 19 it's saying pretty decent nothing crazy 451 not mad about that for kind of going across the crosswind this might be a little Envy we could try to go wide and like skip something but I think the straight line shot here that's a lot of left wow that was really early release of course knows it's my birthday baby 307 now the wind's kind of because it was head left to right in the last hole that was pretty much just straight cuz that last hole went this way I might honestly just throw this Eclipse Envy which I have in the bag perfect I think might be slightly short the head one really took some off of that but ah two NOS that to be perfect dang that's fun though I like that shot I actually left this put a little bit shorter than I thought I did oh my gosh that was the worst part of the day wow wow get some more reps in tomorrow for sure all right this is the one if we can Eagle this one unfortunately that only gets us to eight Downs not the best showing but honestly the score today is kind of Superfluous to me somehow this is one of the not greatest scoring rounds but best feeling rounds that I've had in a while unfortunately we do have a pretty straight head Wi on this hole so it'll be tough to get there I think I should do that honestly just do this ey blend one CU it'll get some stability at the end out of it dude skip wow that moves so far left I think it's like in line with the hill so we got good distance but try the pharoh that might have been the shot no way huh one of my new forehand this the interval right in the middle not bad wow terrible okay three chances at the Eagle all right little forehand here yeah it was great even get the actual Eagle I think my putt is a little farther than I thought no was really hoping for a nice little Tailwind on this one to really rip one up there as it stands we got two more chances we'll go popcorn from this pharoh and Marvel from that one I think it's impossible to to this whole no one's ever done it before ra also I guess I never said I'm turning 26 so in case anyone was wondering I'm not that old but we'll make this birdie and I'll let you get on with your day thanks for watching appreciate you guys a ton Birdville yikes coolest part ever yep all right see
