My First Taste of MOUNTAIN DISC GOLF // 22 Holes at Wondervu Disc Golf Course

welcome to a new series here on the channel called into the mountains I know a lot of you guys travel to the Denver area because I get a lot of questions on Instagram as to what are the best courses to play and I've always recommended this course because everyone else recommends it to me but this new series into the mountains I want to take you into all of the closest mountain courses to the Denver area and rank a top 10. hopefully I can get to all of them before they close for the end of the year but I think there's like upwards of 20 to 30 of them within an hour and a half Drive of Denver we're starting at Wonderview it's actually the one that's closest to me only about a half an hour from where my apartment is the course record eagle has at 14 down and I'm honestly thinking about starting a series to break Eagles course record and so today even though this is a part of into the mountains I did buy a season pass for 60 instead of paying the 10 per day fee which I think is fair because these are mostly private courses but we'll see if there's even like 15 birdies on this course for me because if there's not no point in making that series what a cool spot man this is one of the things I was most excited for in cutting my road trip short getting to play Mountain Golf so I want to honestly do at least one course a week with you guys it's what a disco the elevation is three or four thousand feet higher typically at these Mountain courses than it is in Denver where I typically play so things are going to even be less glidy but one River here is a 22 hole course instead of the typical 18 and I know you guys have been wanting to see a little bit more technical golf on the channel oh gosh don't run down mountains all right basket Straight Ahead there looks like there might be a big hyzer out it's pretty windy for being up in the mountains I guess it makes sense mountains are pretty windy but we're just gonna have a great time today and hopefully play these around I'd love to shoot under par my first time playing all these courses but it's definitely a very different style and flight pattern than it is where I typically play so under yeah it's left that's enough but the Glide here the lack of Glide here is is something what a start 22 down here we come baby so I'm really dumb I just thought the basket was that way for literally no reason I was like that's a tie looking mine looks like we can kind of see the basket through here right by that red sign probably a little forehand can't believe I moved out here this place is awesome probably gonna go Firebird I have no idea what the ground action is behind the basket that's gonna be a lot of today and if it's a lot of holes like this I definitely think we might make like a very similar break 68 series like Foundation does but for beating Eagles record here foreign anything that was so sought off I will say if you have problems with balance coming to A lot of these Mountain courses might not be best for you this one I've already noticed it's not like rough but like you gotta have some balance harbit thank you sign you might be able to see a little red thing right over there I believe that's the basket you just calls it 296. I think it's gonna be a backhand looks like there's a big forehand hyzer if it gets a skip but there's so many rocks that I'm not willing to worry about that I think it's going to be strike on just a turnover keep turning keep turning wow everything is so much more stable all right definitely was the basket in a decent line just need to trust a little more turn on that thing just put a pier under the basket no what just happened that might be the coolest disc golf shot I've ever made in my entire life all right hope for you could probably see through those trees there it looks like honestly the play is a forehand over the top that kind of dumps in get there no wind is pushing it so far back wow I should have thrown something plated it is a headwind and when I just saw that the whole flight plate the one said all right go back to the t-pad definitely got to keep that nose down in the headwind this is why I brought a disc that I haven't in a while with a glitch what is going on today I'm not cutting like I'm not cheating or anything that's freaking cool I'm loving all these like little wood structures here onto five I got chills like this is kind of insane what's going on right now I haven't had to do a ton of Gap highlighting recently but I can barely see like a stick that's above the basket Straight Ahead 253 there's a gap that we're going to kind of flex the forehand through there's a right to left win so it should be helpful especially with no glide on any of these discs even only at 253 I think I'm still going Firebird get around that tree that's perfect maybe a little long hit something oh wait hit something I think it's in the circle so I think I hit this tree and I have not seen it yet so that is not necessarily a good sign oh back behind that tree over there gotta go from me I think I'll need any oh we're on one today all right hole six I'm gonna get out of shape just from like finding all these holes looks like it's in the 250-ish foot position a flip up Gap straight ahead of us that just something can hyzer flip the whole way or throw a big Flex Shot over the top I think I'm gonna do the over the top option because no chance Eagles not grenading this hole get some stability back left I didn't see that thing ever come down that's not good so far I am definitely realizing what I've been missing this is just incredibly fun it is a hike more fun hike than most disc golf hikes because we're playing in just beautiful amazing terrain I think I probably got the distance just about right if that thing did come down oh I see it it came down and it got back left I think I'm I just circle along nice seven looks like the basket's all the way down there that little red thing you can see I'm pretty sure that's a basket it says 432 which I might honestly because of the downhill will be able to like Flex High I think I'm gonna go pharaoh thank you oh why are you not flipping I hope that hit train is rolled back I threw that like I would in Denver also a little too timid especially on the Tailwind honestly my more comfortable shot is definitely right now the flat the flex my Highs are flipped to turn game I've really not been trusting and then to have a headwind now getting out here having to be right to left I show it on hyzer and I did not pop it nearly enough I gave it enough distance to get there but not enough pop to flip ride and come back we might have a long look at it but that's where I should probably trust my game being that flat to Annie five through seven puts us on Pace for just better than 15. it's like technically like 15.3 down or something if I can go every seven holes and only take two pars you should be in business okay actually never mind they called that a par four so we're still six I want to know Eagles like number now though because if you shoot a 54 or did he shoot a 56 because that felt like it could easily be Eagle if that's a four like I basically shake my shot and I was able to get up and down for easy bird so I'll have to ask the owner if I even get close but we still got to play consistent but technically we're six through seven miss that tree oh I hit the tree get back right a little bit underestimated the wind on that one I mean it's pretty sick too is it looks like they have a little rope that's tied to this to give you the the 10 meter mark yes all right hole nine 330 it is down and to the left there probably is a way to get there flipping something up the whole way but it goes back uphill so it seems like the play is again over the top so far right stop it Anthony I feel like this is not the 330 position yeah there are multiple positions you know what's funny this according to you disc landed right on the 320 position so I should have trusted my gotten thought that it was a little bit farther nice I think I think that's only our second part all right 421 all the way down this Gap par three it's a par four in here so I'm guessing the other one's a par three as well because this says part three but they call it part four so a part of me just wants to pump my CD one down there because it's so straight and it won't really move as much side to side but I might go Echo Star Destroyer and try to actually like carry the distance foreign get through that so good come on now it's just a matter of how far left did I swing it might have gotten all the way there oh is that blue no oh no that's not bad okay I'm past the basket there's my disc there's the basket oh you can actually see them both in one shot good off let's go birdie I'm interested to see I'm guessing eagle shot 16. so now we got to try to get that but that wasn't even the point of this video but I'm playing so well why not all right you can probably see a little bit of red through there it's 3 30. because the slope is guiding you down that way it's going to help your disc just Glide down the hill we do have a Tailwind though so I think we're going to go either origin or midnight Pro 2. I have both of them in the bag I don't know which is right because it's going down the hill there are some trees to beat but we want it to start stabling out because there's a road over there which I'm sure places will be get lucky that's a little inside ah dang that's pretty poor that was meant to be a lot more to the left so what I really like about a course like this is like that shot in Denver is still gonna be inside the circle because there's not gonna be enough like obstacles it's gonna Flex out and it's gonna get back to the left towards here I miss my line I got punished which is good I also like that this course I've noticed this about elevation change it definitely matters but not as much as I initially thought it did and especially not as much as when I was less consistent throwing because I blame some of my inconsistencies on the elevation whereas honestly just my inconsistencies if you're a Denver local don't feel too called out about that this is like it is kind of a poke and Hobie hole there is a line but just gotta hit this putter line act like it's a basket yep that's it that's great 495 if you can see that little orange thing down there I'm guessing that's it look at this view though swirly love it oh I should be oh I should be worried about it I realized in my run up too I was lining up a little too Center so I know technically speaking it's not true but it really feels like if I can't save par from here the run is over thank you hence it no not that hit oh that's so short huh that's not bad we're gonna have to basically go perfect in order to beat this record we can maybe tie it we'll see momentum definitely feels like it's waned a bit but we got a pretty straightforward one right there into a headwind at 260. Harmony wants to just throw Pathfinder since we're going uphill and that part of me I think is going to get its wish it's a good part of me nine more to go looks like we're getting on the face of the mountain where the wind is really pushing up the hill which I think for this one's actually gonna be kind of helpful nope straight head we want to be ahead left to right which I guess right now it kind of it will be once it gets that way because the basket is almost directly that way 320 to 3 30. you just says 320. so I'm thinking of going over these trees and just crashing left honestly I might go my neutral Destroyer where the heck did it go if that kept flipping it might be like so long maybe I should have thrown over stable but I thought just that Heiser would help so the t-pad was right there between those trees and then the basket is even more up left so it is an interesting shot shape definitely going to practice though especially in these winds I'm just really hoping that I misheard because I heard my disc kind of way straighter than I wanted it to be it's down here we're gonna have a Tailwind oh there is a lane for the putt come on man give the height tell him oh we gave it the height dang second one's locked well I guess not I don't know all right we have to birdie out to tie it at least that's what we're assuming all right hole 15 winds still blowing up this hill 2 30. it looks a lot further than 230. you're not gonna lie they caught 281 that makes a lot more sense but I might want to like slightly Flex something I might go cd1 instead of strike because strike I feel like I'll have to start on hyzer a little more touchy or CD one I think I can throw a flat it will turn a bit but it's going to have more stability all right so go on broken disc up there all right hole 16 225 wind's still coming up the hill so we have kind of like basically just left to right at this point probably gonna be hard to see from the T but basket is straight through here you really want just something that throws straight and finishes straight because the Hill's gonna bring it down to the left it's that one skinny tree you need to pick a side of I'm gonna try to go oh I don't know actually I'm gonna go with my flip your Pier this one's got some magic juice from hole three so go winner hit something good I think this would have been fine because once it hit it was gonna like stop it was going pretty slow but I think that Branch helped me that was a really good Branch it is good to know that you got like all these things over here so it'll likely be pretty difficult to just like sneak through everything but if you do it's gonna be a really difficult putt it's a whole 17 is 260 up through this Gap it's probably place closer to three something I would guess this is what's behind the t-pad so there's really like no good place to put you guys I just don't like putting you on the t-pad in case it shakes and you tip over because you guys are so expensive and special to me definitely not talking about the camera I think if I throw from this corner and make sure I don't fall off because I'll die I could throw my origin at it perfect sit down though sit down sit down oh man I really don't want to juice it too much but I definitely should have when you're a little tentative like that for me it comes out a little nose up that's one of the things I really want to work on is nose down down Tempo that better I don't know I don't know how to explain it better the hill definitely play with my depth perception that was much better than I thought it would be yes let's go all right it's 2 30. again up this hill this way so headwind right to left so it's probably don't want to push something on hyzer out there I think we're gonna go Crystal Flex Zone oh no it has no worse out of the day I didn't turn it over at all really pretty views I think the wind makes it a little scary but I think we're gonna try to throw the glitch a little too much Glide don't see it yet so I'm getting the feeling it went pretty far down the hill Oh no that's pretty disappointing this should be definitely one of the easier pulls and really fluffed it so far ah not bad all right now we're playing for 14 under or maybe 15 under course Park really hoping that those are supposed to be parforce at this point okay well this looks insanely tricky 290 it's like a backdoor hyzer flip up or a forehand we could go over everything again it kind of looks like it's a play but I think I'm gonna try to flip up a heat flip more oh dang it the hyzer I really went like this and like swooped open instead of really just punching through it don't make the same mistake twice just to the zone ah so much wind left that was crazy out of my hand I was like oh it's great and I just went big Tailwind good putt all right so you guys do get platform privileges on this hole because that's the drop off only 145 up the hill there's enough behind which looks kind of nice of them it's really hard to shoot this close to me throwing but we'll make it happen because we're gonna Ace maybe it should be glitch it's gonna be glitch or pure you know what this is one that we threw in earlier today we typically threw the the purine as well but I was a little more lock-based foreign I wasn't throwing seconds really just like to save my arm because we're playing so many holes but also because I wanted to I thought I was gonna have a record hunt at this point I'm only on track for like 11 or 12. so not a bad round but not what I wanted anybody don't be dumb just aim are you kidding me I'm dying I'm so done of course I aced it of course I aced it oh my gosh what a video holy cow we'll make a putt oh my gosh that's crazy two holes left we're ten down according to you disc not a bad round for my first ever Mountain golf round in the Colorado mountains I definitely think if you guys want it let me know I'm gonna do the series trying to be Eagles record and maybe he'll learn about it and uh maybe when I beat him I can like have him hook me up with Vivo Barefoot or something we're just like go to lunch with me because he seems like a sweet dude basket because that's like a Mach 7 or something oh not an ace but that's pretty good all right basket up there to the left you can probably barely see it looks like to play it's like 290 it's just a fair way you know what we'll give the strike some love why not no shanked it let's get a skip still yeah I like being lucky a lot more for good measure you know my last second shot we aced so might as well go cd-1 at it get there oh that was great too sometimes it's better to be lucky than good what a fun and good round I do wonder if like the udisk record has Eagle in there load all time number one right there tied dang I just need to see one better according to you to see at least all right we're at least gonna get the udisk record and we're gonna be Eagle sometime this summer maybe fall before it closes this year we gotta do it all right finish the round just over two hours seven thousand steps I mean obviously this course is number one already because it's the first one that we've played but this honestly might be get into the in close to the top 10 of courses I've ever played and so far I've played 214 courses so this is a really good one this does make me super excited to head on over to a bunch more mountain courses I'm gonna try to like play at least one a week and bring at least one week to you guys here on the channel but this is some seriously refreshing disc golf it's also like fun to realize that just because I play all these demo courses doesn't mean I'm terrible when we get some more wooded tracks if you want to check out another really fun video check it
