My Portland Open was ALMOST Amazing!!! [DGPT+ Vlog]

last weekend I was able to play the Portland open presented by latitude 64 a disco protour plus event that does have a cut this is my full experience of it and for the third round of the tournament I was able to fulfill one of your guys wishes on one of my recent videos get it commentated by these guys so stick around to that otherwise enjoy round one Portland open I'm super pumped about this course this event my game actually feels really good trying to go in still with low expectations but I honestly feel like I have the ability to make the cut it's just going to depend on if I can execute the shots and and make the putts as I need to I'm definitely nervous about this round overall but not super nervous this is the first time that I've actually been excited for you guys to come and like watch me play cuz before I don't know if like I didn't think I was good enough or I had too much impostor syndrome but I was just like oh my gosh like people are going to be watching me play it's going to be embarrassing but now I'm excited I'm like no I can actually play I was feeling confident on these courses especially with the people I was playing with we'll see what ends up happening actually during the rounds uh cuz everything's always different in practice versus tournaments but about to go get warm and uh hopefully have a really solid Portland open this week is going to be long it's 4 days there's a CAU after 3 days top 40% of Mo that's my goal of trying to make that that's kind of a stretch goal the bigger goal for me is that the last protro plus event I had I came in like 98 so do better than that slightly windy beautiful day let's go have some fun be oh I like what the heck is happening Anthony how are you feeling about today I'm excited low expectations you know feel like if you just don't do anything super stupid and be patient it should be the biggest thing is being patient I suck at being patient recently the hardest part of the game it really is Thomas are you feeling like you're going to 200 under part today oh yeah under part for sure lenus say hi to the vog oh hey man hey man what am I doing I'll I'll be fine with four four down yeah 30 minutes to go snack from goodies even and I was in the 7th place and then went just check in behind the ropes feeling warm feeling ready a little windy today little head left to right as we just threw a bomb with an onyx farther than I'll ever throw my drivers maybe not ever but this week for sure all right KY just thre a crazy shot on h two like so good I threw one that was a little high didn't quite flip as much but I missed my PT on hold one for about 18 ft for birdie and one I just walked to the second teapad patient which I was really proud of obviously don't want to miss a lot of those slly uphill into the Tailwind I was telling I was like yeah this is just my Miss where I'm like pulling up too fast instead of going slow he's like don't for aniz it just make the so I was like oh I never thought about like that so that's the call ni spot I know having a lot of early round realizations but I also just realized I was like oh no I'm zero for one Circle 1 x I'm going to have to make a lot more and I was like wa who cares about my circle 1X percentage I care about my score I just got to nothing about stats I got think about score like I'm such a dummy how do I think that oh w currently playing the most boring round of Disc Golf in the entire world I'm even through 12 holes and we're about to get on 13 these last six are like a hard finishing stretch which hey maybe if I've been playing pretty boring so far we can get a couple of them I know it's they're definitely birdie B the last three are all getable I missed three Circle one puts so far and one Circle two putt that I should have made so I could have four more but boring is fine like I only took one single bogey hot round last year first round was eight and second round was nine and I think the cut was not crazy I think Cal thought like six down is going to make the cut so if we can even just shoot even and then come back and get those four that I missed today already and shoot even for the rest of them get four down then two down on East which is is a more scorable course I think it's all doable but it's really hard to keep staying patient especially after I got that bogey I was almost very impatient on the next tole but it just sucks that I'm not capitalizing on the opportunities that I'm staying patient for but that doesn't mean that I can not be patient you know round is over and I'm so pissed just kid I'm not pissed I'm just like dude what are you doing because I miss seven putts I should have made Seven again so my putter stopped working I like the pace of my putts more I'm not I didn't three putt a single time let me verify bogey was a two putt other bogey three birdies yep okay didn't three a single time so my Pace has been better but my mind and my brain is being really stupid it's like hey when you miss putts you have to Puff from 30 ft and so I shorted a bunch of them I missed them really inside I didn't commit to basically any putt I committed to one birdie putt from 30 ft and then one pot from 60 ft that I made everything else though I just like fluffed a little bit and so I'm going to really get some work in today getting some more putts in maybe about 10 or 15 minutes not even too long but really just get some putts in and then come back tomorrow and just like focus on the exact same game plan just to making putts because if I would have made all the putts that I should have made or if I would have missed two of them I would have shot 400 if I missed two I would shot 600 if I made them all and I didn't even throw the disc absolutely phenomenally like there was a lot of room for improvement on throwing the disc I just stayed really patient so I'm really proud of that really frustrated because when you're I I talked about it already when you're patient you got to be patient for the opportunities that are going to come and then you got to take the opportunities and I just I did the patient part tomorrow we got to do the opportunities part because I'm only three Strokes out of the cut line I'm 69th right now nice and uh hopefully we can continue to play better tomorrow cuz I didn't play out of my mind I didn't play great I didn't I don't even I feel like I played all right I was playing a little bit worse than I think that I am and I think it's a little over thousand rated here's the round I don't know what it is but yeah got the behind the scenes the alen Vlog Oh Come oh my that's actually really nice uhoh come on it's good that's fire that was actually really good go this channel you did some crazy stuff round two today unfortunately got home from r one I got back to my airb be and I felt like awful like super sick then it was weird cuz I didn't feel that during the round it came on like as I was driving home and now I'm like congested and feel bad so uh I don't think I have a fever or anything it's probably just like something coming through my system I don't really know but it's going to make today a little bit tougher maybe I'll be able to I mean I don't have to change a lot of my game plan cuz I'm not being overly aggressive I just have to focus up a little bit extra to execute shots but dang really sucks I'm playing with James Conrad World Champ today it's going to be fun Garrett girthy and then Colin who is a guy that I met yesterday think he's a kid I'm really solid th8 rated guy from Washington so yeah I feel terrible honestly I feel so bad but hopefully uh we can play okay just made it in don't have too much warm time which is honestly probably best for today I was hoping there was a smoothie somewhere cuz that would be so good but there's like no smoothie places here nervous for today because of how I feel but I know I can still execute my game plan even not feeling great cuz my game plan isn't crazy so that's the goal for today luckily it's a pretty big gap off first te so just put it through there and turn burn it over like just stay safe don't FL with the OB and you're happy how of broom food Colorado Anthony bodanza that's good oh yeah good job forgot about the headwind on my upshot and I rolled my pharoh into Oblivion and I somehow got OB on the green so we'll tap in a five and move on to two I actually Juiced it harder than I anticipated for how I've been feeling so that's good sign for today plenty plenty of holes left the fans cheering for everything like it's been a blast bogey bogey birdie much more interesting round than yesterday already just stay impatient try to take my opportunities all right we are through five holes bogey bogey birdie birdie bogey missed too many Circle one plus count just kidding we can count them but they're all left side so I'm just going to try and move my Endo right cuz that's what I did in the last one and it went in from 30 ft cuz I went 30 ft downhill just bad up shot though so not ideal I would say let's go let's get birdie walking a whole 11 after 10 it's been a whole lot of boring pars since we talked last ah man I missed some putts not any for birdie inside the circle luckily one I just missed from 33 ft which is essentially the circle like it was just outside maybe by about a foot and all my putts I missed to the right now so I think I'm going to move my a point slightly right in the chains and try to figure it out I think also extend into where I'm aiming cuz I will kind of aim there and then like toss it at it and like I don't know I'm doing some weird stuff with my puts so K oh what are you doing hanging on why you making us back up toas uh no there was three groups before us what you doing like no we'll just pop you here made it up two under par which I don't know what it's rated I would I'd imagine played a little easier today than it did yesterday but I won my card by a couple Strokes which was fun I got the last two birdies and just battled the whole time so I still don't feel great like sickness wise and I threw some like really really weird and bad shots like I try to roll on the hold that there should be literally zero things to hit except for one tree and I squared that tree otherwise I I don't know I played pretty clean I started making my PS at the end there which was a big win feels like it's starting to come a little bit more together uh I'll talk to you guys a little bit later cuz I'm actually going to come back and uh do some stuff with gon and all in after their round so was able to get home watch coverage and I'm about to head back to the course cuz gon's about to get finished up and I'm going to film with him and Al in was it going to be someone else maybe we can find someone else to play with us just for fun but we're going to do a roller only challenge over like four or five holes I did look I'm still three Strokes out of the cutline uh 1020 rated round right now which is solid so it's crazy that I'm shooting 1010 this week and I I am still not in the cut which is awesome for the tour is going but I'm in 58th place right now I think I'll need to shoot between a 5 and 800 tomorrow I think seven will be like okay I've made the cut um I think five or six will give me a chance but ultimately I just I know that cuz I looked at it but I'm going to do everything in my power to not let that be in my head at all and just continue to play the exact same game that I have been doing try to get myself opportunities and capitalize on him and be patient cuz that's all I can do like and that's proved to be very good and if I end up missing the cut and shooting at th000 rated 1010 can't be too sad but if I'm if I if I'm right here like it's only three Strokes the other course I think it's a little more scorable on every hole which means it's more scorable for everyone in the field but it's also newer course for everybody so there might be some learning CES with that if I can get over that and just play well that'll be the name of the game but let's get of course film Some Fun roller videos with the boys that'll be after this video I don't tournament so far and I am all only bogeys away from being inside the cut and not even OB Bogies and all that really means to me is if we can keep it a little cleaner we can shoot those rounds that we need to be in the cut line consistently but we just got to clean it up whole one I'm a little it's a it's a Nery little te- shop but I'm excited to get it started get off and running I'm playing with some fun people to James Proctor Chris Clemens and Luke Samson so it should be a blast I'm about to head over to the course and get ready still feeling a little congested a little sick but not bad and I was slow yesterday IAL and played well hopefully we can do the same thing today just finished warming up and the nerves are starting to hit it's different today it'll come it's like good nerves I we're seeing Proctor Luke Samson here um so all good players so far on the car that's not a good shot yeah spoke too but he's a good player okay and here we go the first player that I don't know we'll see oh going for the green oh actually looks money needs to hold needs to hold looks like it's stable and out there then that's almost always going to find a I think that was a bad decision probably highspeed driver there needs to be going with the Fairway and Chris Clemens just perfect yeah doing what Chris Clemens does he's just a perfect guy dead center oh wow so he's way up here but he's way up here went 50 to 100 feet out of bounds but he's going to have a relatively easy approach nearly impossible to mess up that's so short what oh wow must have got a unbelievable skip up I will tell you this folks if you are on a golf course inbounds is the number one priority yeah we're just going to skip hold two here two probably tripled so our skipping it uh decent shot that's kind of how it works on this hole you just throw it at the trees and hope you get through money powerful yeah you know one thing he's uh known for is those little forand approaches from circum those a couple things today start in this round we're threw three holes par par par birdie or par save after OB drive on one and then whole two missed a Circle T put hold three had an airand drive and I realized a couple things one I guess got to stay patient three things actually two uh I think I'm good enough to like trust myself to Envision lines and hit them I've just been kind of trying to be like hit the Gap and hope not going to work and three kiding scores out of my head is hard so I'm really only going to focus on getting them out of my head on the T when I need to execute a shot other let the thoughts roam gets the T Focus up skipped hole four probably Bo it again yeah on the hole five here it's one of the muskets on this course Very uh routine birdie for very downhill most people get way past these these bunkers yeah ideally most players are going to be going over this green um oh that is so short interesting weird play but okay positioning now he's probably 180 chip for oh going with the turnover is that Destroyer from Circle three that could not have been a destroyer cuz it flipped oh he he definitely can't do that good shot though wow nice so after that kind of a shot if you want to make it on the prer you have to make this putt okay that's got to be out of bounds oh no it's not okay okay there we go putting in the par going to lose a stroke to 99% of the field but we're on the two yeah on the whole what is this seven yeah for some reason we're just going every other hole that's a perfect oh nice nice little skip off the stum lucky Rober bir skip there distance driver into the green it's like really good positioning actually should be wide open Heiser some uphill run up can uh make this shot tricky but seems like he's doing well this looks like a 34 footer coming oh wow oh two feet off not bad all right see if he can make up for that Miss putt on the last or two holes ago that was clean that was very clean he's uh he's feeling good from bullseye's Edge oh that was the bullseye okay um good good okay shot honestly kind of surprised by his distance here he's he's got tour distance little unfortunate to be stuck behind that green but see if he can do what robbed I think I think that was a Rollo got a nice late fade at the end oh tap in birdie wow we just finished up whole 10 we're going down to whole 11 I'm one down I got to one down through nine whole 10 I threw my wife is filming like every other shot is why I'm interjecting in between G and Alden but through a shot that was not exactly what I wanted off the te and I had a very small forehand Gap that I knew I could get up and down from but it take a very specific shot but I also KN if I hit the trees it wouldn't go OB be so I smacked the tree and I think what's happening as I'm starting to think much more about misses right now instead of just getting on the teen executing shot so my goal is to get on the tead empty my brain I could have thought through all the misses before I step up there but like I shouldn't think through the misses because I just need to think about my line and then my misses will be less than if I am thinking about misses if that makes any sense but just step up there and uh get the line envisioned rip the shot I haven't looked at scores yet where the cut line is um but if I just play clean here on out no more Bogies and take my chances cuz I'm making putts now it could be good all right now that Mario is off our screen maybe go find your brother Luigi somewhere maybe in a tube on the whole five here pretty much impossible not five wait what did I say this is not whole five not sure where I got whole five par five is what I meant but I was going to say impossible not to get through this initial trees butt he hit the first I'm not going to lie don't like that play off the T I like the left Gap cuz it at least advances you down the Fairway this is actually looking extremely out of bounds yeah I know he may have not had any practice rounds on the course which is smart to do in the there's a tube over there to shoot you to the basket though maybe he'll find his brother looks like you did find out of el we saw a little bit of frustration there after that second shot but looks like he's do a pretty good recovery wow oh my that was a sick shot actually wow I've ever seen once again has to make this after that kind of a shot no no commitment in the rage that would have secured him making the cut the cach line but um it's over now it's over okay is this a roll I like this play because this hole there is not a single Gap you don't like this play what is I I don't even know what just happened here wait what just happened interesting so he I think he was lining up the roller but mid throw he decided to go airer Spike Heiser over the trees on the right somehow touch touch Circle two beforehand like I like I said on a whole three this is what he's known for these little approaches but wow lifted has to make this see if he can connect from 16 okay there is absolutely no way he is in his head folks and that you can't even you can't hold on to a cart wire tapping in yeah I'm pretty sure that may be legal he may got strok we are just skipping shots because they are not any I would assume based on this hold is probably his fifth or sixth throw oh wow bombed with the Road Runner again see if he can get the fade get it does okay yeah for Gavin somehow yeah tell me about it on the hole 17 that's a that's fatigued right there interesting I can't even get past the first tree in the Fairway 250 oh so you're going to want to go up this left side but he chooses the right side I'm going to assume that was probably a a late release but he's going to end up going to get away with it wow okay left him at the oh let me guess another Miss no no no I I I think he's going to make this air ball oh oh no that one is not going to no man but he cang banged it 18 it's been a quick round final shot I don't think he can clear the water here but that is I've never seen that okay you know I could tell his uh his goal there was to hit the Gap he did it but it leaves him in the worst spot on the course he's not going to have much from here and folks this is the biggest shot of the tournament to make the cut has to get up and down in two throws needs a birdie surely won't flexo be left right great angle with the Rollo once again getting the late finish that it uh that it has that's that's a great jot that was actually extremely committed very proud of him here just has to get up and down here oh all right that'll leave him with this putt he could secure his top 100 I think yeah a big big accomplishment for him does he have it it's for everything no the answer is obviously no it always is no probably going to roll out of bounds yeah really fortunate break there not to go out of bounds okay this is not real this is so unfortunate he doesn't even know where his disc went I didn't realize I was still out be getting the oh yeah and no claps from the crowd and rage contrary to what these fools were saying I was not close to the cut i' missed way too many putts I missed enough putts to make the cut though so I'm glad I would gave myself the stress of being able to give myself into position to like have those stressful feelings rather than just like having a throwaway round where I just try to play good um so that was a big win but yeah how was how was your tournament Alden pretty good uh first two rounds were pretty good second two rounds looked a lot like Banas if you know what I mean bad what about you me um dude you you would have thought that bananza was putting for me this week Fair what about you just say I found a lot of those Mario tubes the basket a lot
