NEW INNOVA GORGON REVIEW: I Wanted to Love It

when Ina dropped this disc I was kind of surprised at the reception I thought it was just going to be any other disc and then I saw all the reviews being about how amazing this disc was Inova already has so many moldes that you think that they would have their whole entire lineup filled but I guess 106 -21 are some numbers that Inova doesn't really make right now but these guys apparently are like some distant bomber guys and very good for amateur players so being sponsored by infinite discs they can hook me up with all the discs that I want to review and I reached out to ask for these and then they didn't come in the box and I was like what the heck guys what are you doing but this disc was so popular that the first big batch that they had completely sold out so we're making this now to see if the Gorgon or the Gorgon I I'll probably pronounce it between those two today is one of the best distance drivers that's ever made for amateurs we have one in the star plastic and the pro plastic and we're going to be comparing it against a couple discs that I probably will have zero bias towards the discmania TD which has the exact same flight numbers well five2 one people are loving changing up their Glide numbers I can't wait to see the first eight Glide disc because it's going to get so much hype and it's going to be no different than all the five sixes and sevens that are out there I honestly forgot toia send these out to me but the profile looks relatively similar there are some slight differences that we'll note after a couple holes and this that doesn't have the same flight numbers but probably flies similar is some losers Tour series Halo Sphinx so we're going to throw these today too because of course I bag the Spinx we're going to be doing a beat the bag it's a style of review I do where if either of these discs beat the disc that is in my bag I will give it away and because it's a tour series Halo Sphinx and I have some extras of those I'll give one of those away as well but that's not going to happen cuz the Spinx is about to win baby hole one we're going to play to the whites and then for the rest of the nine holes cuz we're going to do a 10 hole challenge for 10p Speed the rest of the nine holes will flip a coin I should I actually brought a coin we'll flip a coin on my phone we'll flip a disc that makes more sense and it'll determine which basket we play cuz there's two baskets out at this course Birds Nest we'll start with the Sphinx here's one from the first run that we did there's like very few of these available if you find any that just have this on their hieroglyphics that's those the second run right here we added the run two runes cuz you guys sold out the first run I think these things fly great 480 down the hill nice easy Spinx it's too good it's way too good I don't know what to tell you next up we'll throw the Gorgon I want to see if there's differences between these two the Gorgon does feel like a more 10 speeed like it feels wider on the rim it feels like honestly the bottom similar to the Sphinx is a little bit around this way which adds to the Glide profile of it there's a little baby bead at the very bottom of these guys the pro does feel a little flipper and a little smaller just cuz Pro plastic tends to feel slightly smaller than this cuz I think it's a mix of DX and star but we'll throw the star boy see if we can match that or better oh that's glidey s will only do one off the top cuz I feel that so much two off the top for these guys this one put a little more wide a little bit of early release oh it's so much flipper no go left go left oh my gosh that goes so far go go go go go oh baby let's go probably edge of circle now for the TDS I thought these looked identical and I was almost wondering because TD is an old Innova made minum mold that they remade I almost wonder if the Gorgon is the old TD or retool TD because I do know that some of the discs that in coming out with like the Hawkeye I think being the old FD mold or maybe fd1 or a mix of those it wouldn't make sense that if they own those molds some of them they leas to infinite like the Sphinx being a valkyrie on the top and a rodon on the bottom the emperor just being a destroyer but they're going to want to keep some of the good molds for themselves so maybe it's a TD or a td1 or something I don't really know but some of you guys might and I haven't seen any info about that I just pulled these out and remembered that this made it sent to me a while back purple let's get our first parked job of the day oh that might be more stable than those other ones wow okay oh it's definitely more stable well that's kind of different very glidey though holy cow we have a couple objectives today with the Gorgon we need to get a forehand birdie with it ho two is going to be really good for that if we coin flip to the right position we want a birdie a hole that's over 400 ft and I want to go bogey free with it those are the three objectives on top of just trying to beat the Sphinx which it's going to be impossible Spinx is too good sorry just based on first throws the TDS I think will be more over stable they actually looked a little more over stable and felt that way I'll show you what I mean here in a second the Sphinx is probably going to be the most understable but we'll also maybe go the farthest because of how awesome it is that was filthy the pro Gorgon might be kind of similar to the Sphinx some Innova on Innova violence right there holy crap all right last one there's people on tpad so I'm just going to put it and you got to believe me oh I was scared TD with the early lead with the worst Shots by far that's kind of impressive now of course today I wanted to throw the Sphinx it's my Tour series I love it I don't get to throw it enough but it's so fun and it honestly is pretty similar to these discs but infinite might have a disc that is a little more similar so we'll take a look at all the profiles now and I'll get your opinion this is the Inova Goron the profile as you can see seems to be a little blunt on the edge here but a little round on the bottom and the top not actually a lot of dome which I don't hate but there's that little micro bead kind of sitting at the bottom the bead seems to be a little bit less pronounced when you go to the pro version and you can see that the wing or The Parting line is dropped so where the two parts of the disc meet that line that goes around the middle if it's lower it's typically going to be more underst stable now if we just compare this Gorgon to the TD which could have some potential similarities as they might be based off of the same or similar molds you can see that there are some differences the TD seems to have a little bit more of your typical concave bevel down here The Parting line also seems to sit a little bit higher and the Goron just kind of seems to be a little bit more symmetrical in shape and it has that little bead at the bottom so I do think the TD is going to be more overstable this plastic is also slightly stiffer this feels really good this feels like a little bit faster side Winder almost it's a little bit slower this is definitely 9 speed this is faster as a 10 speed and you can feel that on both the TD and the Gorgon but the Sphinx has a little bit lower over parting line by a little bit and is a little bit more round round with a little Dome this has a little bit of round elements but it's mostly flatter as it goes to the top so Spinx I think is a little bit more forgiving of a shape and uh I'm probably obviously going to say good things about this it also I didn't even notice has a little baby micro bead thing kind of down there not really maybe I'm making things up but there is one disc from infinite that might be similar and some of you guys love this disc and it told me about it it is the Aztec I personally don't throw it 10513 or12 are the numbers this in the eye blad I'll throw on another hole just to show you the differences but this might be more similar one of the main differences you can see is the Gorgon has a little bit more rounded edge here this is round whereas on the Aztec it's a little bit blunter and flatter you also have a little bit more of like a TD like Rim at the bottom here where it's mostly flat to concave whereas over here it does have that little bit of roundness on the bottom but they both have that little bead right here that'll probably get worn down over time Aztec has a lot more Dome eye Blends tend to be very very Dy discs I'll throw this against these later but we're still comparing it to the spiny boy we got the two baskets one there and the white disc catchers and then the Mach 3s we'll go ahead and use the Aztec as our flipper heads means and Tails means heads so as you heard heads meant Mach 3 basket straight in front of us um and so heads will be mo 3 Tails will be I mean I already said that you already heard it but Tails will be Innova and heads will be o 3 looks like we do have the opportunity to complete one of the quests Gorgon forehand first TD I mean we're going box order cannot believe that TD got the birdie and the rest didn't wow okay that was straighter than I thought I thought that would get more stable more fast more stable more fast but that kind of acted more like a it's like a negative 21 maybe almost maybe like negative 1 one definitely one fade not two fade but the turn I don't know about sinks next a little more wobble sit down o that's a long putt TD might be the MVP so far let's get this Gorgon birdie come on Focus snap easy oh yeah oh come out of it whoa oh interesting flipper than the TD for sure I kind of thought I could throw out like the TD and it just drifted long put to try to get that forehand down there TD great shot Gordon good distance very flippy kind of would be a nice Woods forehand disc I think for handing I like this a lot more than like my Sphinx cuz sphin is a little Dy make this putt complete one of the quests oo let's go we're putting today quest number one complete that's a good star frame we still need a 400t plus birdie with a Gore gun and no bogis we have two options there's a basket up on the mound up there then just a straight guy right through the middle heads is Mound tails is Middle heads going up to the mound little Tailwind again this one is 320 ft so I think we're going to see how they all want to just hold a panning turnover cuz this is definitely more the shot that you'd want this disc for if you were not in the wide open get over it okay it got through is that stabling out pretty fast oh s next it's also tail on that one's also getting out of it but lots of Glide might need to turn it a little bit more I think this will show a lot of how this guy flies oh man oh wow a little more turn I don't know if I'm just not liking the feel as much oh I feel like that disc is easy to get over the feel is definitely hm it might be closer to the Sphinx than I thought the Sphinx in the Gorgon might be closer than the TD in the Gorgon but I thought it was going to be the opposite yeah Sphinx has a birdie putt the other ones are kind of in scramble City and we got to make sure they're not bogey with the Gorgon to keep Quest 3 alive nice and glad that's a great shot TD is honestly a little out of putting range so Part Town see if we can make this thing so buckets TD and the Gorgon were both like 15 ft so I just snagged them cuz they're someone on the teapad and my social anxiety gets very high when I'm filming in front of people this next one we either have a pretty easy par 4 where we can let loose some bombs or about a 39ish foot par three we might only really have one or two more chances to try to get over 400t birdie with the Gorgon see what we got heads again I'm starting to think that this disc might not be able to land on Tails but we're playing mock 3es if it's heads one more time we might have to change the disc things first we got a right to left this time and I think to make things interesting I won't let myself just throw a straight Hiser at these we're going to have to throw some sort of like either Hiser flip at it instead of wide like pushing Hiser or turnover so s first that was nice TD a little more anahis I believe that's nice it is more stable but I would say it's more of like a negative one1 negative one and A2 one I think that shot with the Gorgon is pretty parked but a little bit higher whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa holy flippy that might be more understable than Spinx I doubt it it can't be here's the pro heer FP big turn here's the Sphinx I think that's as underst stable if not more than the Sphinx wow good comparison I just wanted to throw it more and do a little bit more uh hey maybe you should snag one but what the heck that Gorgon is such a flippy boy I do think it'll give us good distance for this next toll though which we have to we have to roll tails I need to play that disc catchet cuz that's 420 ft birdie attempt and we're not going to have a lot of those TD didn't get all the way down here sinks is like 10 ft and the Gorgon is just over there kind of seems like a faster side Winder I know my my spin is pretty stable like I would probably call more of a -2 one Orga -22 dis which is why I brought it out cuz these Halo ones the like metal flakes or some other ones are very very flippy but I like these cuz they're super usable nice par where the heck did this guy go like I definitely didn't think it would be this far I thought it'd be shorter I guess that's what you mean by you say oh no sit oh that we're good this is a very interesting feeling disc I remember someone in uh the Discord community that I have with the people who used to be my patrons some people just like weren't able to figure this disc out and I kind of understand it but it like wants to turn wants to get to turn fast I'm glad we have a lot of holes to figure it out got to play the farthest wow I was so scared I was about to bogey there it's too good people all right this hole there's a 365 foot position left which is heads straight position 425 which is Tails slight slight tail left to right Tails never fails come on I kicked it and it still landed up now I know which this to take with me to cheat at random draw doubles we'll do DX Beast tails that was a very legal way to do that're playing the Longs this is the only one that like really matters but 25 down there why did that take so many attempts SX has the Box oh this will be able to show some good differences we need to be able to like let loosen and see how they fly like it gets to Flat wow I kind of stay on higher that was surprising me it's all the way down there though I'm like 99 100% sure of that TD next this one I think we have to throw flat the Gorgon I think if we throw like the Spinx it'll be really good I was surprised how understable that is yeah pretty much flat it'll turn itself that's really good I think I hit the Rocks I think I heard it Gorgon I'll figure it out because it's bulbous but also at 10-speed it fills your hand like a lot especially for someone small our hands just commit to the hit point for that same shot as the Spinx and see how it flies that's like a metal flake Spinx that's the best shot of the group I think but I might have thrown slightly different I'll throw a SX again this is crazy see that's why I love the Spinx is it's such just like a gentle everything the Gorgon having a little bit more flatness it probably flips harder and then you saw faded harder the Sphinx because of that Dome it like rides that's one of the reasons I love that disc especially for like late turning Big Shots this Gordon this one's a little domeier but I think it's still just a flipper disc like what like those are NE like if the Spinx is supposed to be 9631 and that's supposed to be 106 -21 flip flop keep the speeds though cuz that's right drilled it TD can catch up the Gorgon needs a birdie for the quests but it would still be one back yes come on 400 plus foot hole forehand now we just need to stay bogey free this might be the only hole out here that only has one position so we throw the Aztec as well on this one and we're going to go forand it's only 300 ft so I think it's a pretty good distance oh it's trying that was on Hiser unfortunately but I like the spin that came out of my hands on that wobble boy get out of it oh yeah oh it's so forgiving get his fegs they are all very easy flying discs I will say they are all very easy to throw here's the Aztec I think it's more stable than all those that really is more of a negative one too kind of reminds me of one of my Romans that I have that is a Ed in compared to these discs these are all in that flipper category I know in gstar plastic they call the Gorgon 10631 I think it might just always be that or I might have to update the swing flight numbers to be like a 96 maybe 98 97 910 -2 one I thought I was just recording all that and I wasn't but um I birdie with the SS and I parred with both the other ones I had to make a comeback putt from about 20 ft with the Gorgon oh man what a shame I did a whole joke about like doing a dad Putt and being a dad I missed it farther than that but you get the idea now on to the next toll we're going to try out the Aztec again but I do think the Sphinx is a better comparison and it's looking unlikely for the giveaway unfortunately cuz the SX is too good and I know it too well back to flipping and I'm changing the disc again because these just hate me I don't know why maybe I'll try with my Putters but we have 340 ft to the Mach 3 we have about 430 is Ft I how range it I don't know how far is yep 425 to the long position see how the Aztec flies here but four holes to play Sphinx is up by two we finally got a Tails let's see if this one can do heads or if it's just a a Tails guy wait Tails again wait wait oh no if you ever see me cheating at random flip doubles no you didn't to get there the over the top is definitely play and I think we're going to do it we're going to throw Big Sky anes we're going to throw some some fun shots s first I didn't like it at first like it'sing around I think I parked it I really think I parked it oh my gosh I love that disc so much I cannot I don't even think I can explain how much I love that disc all right G on next that was Psycho that's just so fun I can't help but smile whenever I throw that thing I threw that wider and on more Hiser okay it's stabling out faster so that's a good sign it's flipper it's flipper than the Sphinx what the heck that's crazy TD oh that was too flat ah I meant to put that on more anheiser throw the Aztec on that similar line but we're going to actually have to turn this guy over a good bit I'm pretty sure it's a little more of a stable than all those harder yeah it's just more of a stable it's close to the TD but it's definitely more wow that went so much farther though holy I'm going to have to U this that see how far that went we got ourselves a decent ways here I think I say the TD probably goes the least far to all these but like not by always anything it's just cuz it's the most overstable and uh the other ones have a little better Glide profiles so this one's pin High just about 35 ft so really not bad the Spinx is like 20 ft long though that's like a 440 ft shot with that guy right on target into a headwind like the wind is blowing backwards not a helping win for that shot that's crazy not a helping win for that putt either huh I'm I mean I got to cough up a lot of Strokes on these last three holes this is so good there's the Aztec all the way down here so if you're looking for a bomber 10p speed and you don't like Romans cuz Romans are awesome that's 464 so that's pretty cool all right this one has a 355 ft position straight ahead and then a 430t position kind of tucked around the corner you betrayed me dude what the it L on Tails uh-oh didn't turn it oh wow I mean I made the Mando again way more tail what the heck was that those are probably three of the worst shots you could ever see the white down here is 485 and par three that one's 4 or 550 in a par 4 and the storms look like they're rolling in so I'm glad we're almost done with our 10 holes we got a new flipper Avengers SS tails that means we got a really long part three uh-oh might try the pro Gorgon just to see if I can get some extra juice out of it second to last hole we'll end it on a shorty so we can see that low speed stability on all these SP first jeez no it's 488 47.7 to be exact swing out of it it's down there next up we have the Gorgon we're going pro we're going to throw this that way and anticipate a lot of late flip if we can birdie with this disc on this hole I think I win it life that is insane wow a little too much height unfortunately I mean that's with the roll back that's still putting that is like ridiculously flippy if I throw my SP on that line it's on the next teapad over there TD we got to turn this one Big Sky Annie no why I throw it so low I don't I think I forgot what sky any means it's probably going to be a little short cuz I don't think it quite goes as far distance line looks really nice though sorry to all the TD stands for this shot make up for it the Gorgon has a birdie putt I parked it with a TD like Park Park oh my gosh I was looking for that disc over there it is under the basket pretty much that was the worst part of the day what are you doing oh I'm sorry I mean that is this is 487.1 this is with that 10p speed I can probably get to the basket with the driver or like the par 4 that'd be cool to try soon we're going through the V oh player two let's go also before that hole if you want to snag any of these discs there all be at infinite discs these ones obviously support me directly and then if you're a retailer you can also buy these I've heard that they sell out very quickly in local shops so if you're wanting to do that feel free to snag some of this new run but I really don't think the gorgon's for me it's a little bit touchier of a disc than you'd want if you need something that's flipper than like the sphinxes that I have I would recommend it but I might recommend like a Maya from infinite like a heat like a flippy like a cuz they're just Dy and Dome a lot of times especially on backhand forehand it's harder so Gorgon might be good for you if you're a forehand player and you want something flippy but Dome really mitigates mistakes that you might make because everything just becomes a little bit more mellow in the flight in turning and in fading that said we got about 250 ft Straight Ahead here we're just going to try to throw them straight at that V tree and uh see how they deviate on that line try to get lucky on one of the sides of it probably not the best way to play the hole we'll throw this nice and down Tempo show you how they fly so when you're throwing slower you saw it still it was pretty glidey on that line on that left to right Fort faded I think if I'm going to guess the Gorgon is going to fight out of it a little faster so see it how it moves so much more to the right honestly much better shot so that's great for that line it just has a lot of variants even when you're throwing it slow here's the pro a little flippy on that line and the TD well we didn't miss the V tree these are actually like really fun downtemple here's the Aztec a little more overstable than all of them but also parked I will say if you're looking for the flip of the Gorgon but you want more Dome that recycled the venger SS I threw it on a similar line and you could see it's like similar flipp maybe a little bit less maybe a little bit more you'll have to decide for yourself I honestly I can't tell it's between all of them but it's just so much more gradual because it has that extra Dome that recycled ESP Avengers SS would be pretty money for you if you wanted a disc in this category but the Gorgon you thought might be a little bit too fluky for you or you thrown it and you just kind of didn't like how it flew Step Up get the Spinx two steps up get the TD at the same level if not slight set down recycled Avengers SS pretty money coron is parked and I think it's going to get the box and no Bogies aste is closer though this super fun unfortunately this just kind of isn't for me and I'm really glad that for some reason infinite decided to give me this as a tour series super grateful grateful for so super excited all three quests complete the Sphinx ended up shooting five Gorgon at three and TD at two but we did Park that 488 fo the hole so that's a win of itself no giveaways this time but I'm
