THIS Is What Disc Golf is SUPPOSED To Be | [18 Hole Vlog]

welcome back to videos of disc golf today I just want to kind of go back to the roots of disc golf because having this Channel and doing a lot of training it's easy to kind of get caught up in the work that is disc golf and I pulled up this course to film like a how-to video montessippi Regional Park in Monticello Minnesota probably the closest 18 hole to The Preserve we're gonna play it from the Longs because I just looked at this place and it's just a gorgeous property so it's gonna have fun playing 18 holes trying to shoot under par and learn a couple things about their bag because it has to make a couple changes I lost a pharaoh playing at Blue Ribbon Pines so I had to put a new one in here it's a little bit heavier a lot of this beat in so hopefully it's gonna work fine I did recently add the cd1 but I'm gonna try to throw slightly different lines than I'm used to throwing because I've been really relying on some hyzer flips doing a lot of midnight prowl too not as much Pathfinder and I really want to also rely on these stable strikes in cd1 because I feel like that's an important part of the game is that anhyzer game so probably not play the coarse pars though there's a lot of holes like this Par Four 276 feet like I said we're gonna try to lean on some stability so we're probably gonna go Envy in Pathfinder just try to learn the Diss and have some fun I'm gonna go Pathfinder first nice and early sneaky what a kick oh miss it super generous kick here and also super nervous because that's where I'm already about to shoot something here so there it's on the front seat bed oh man I suck at putting my nerves are kind of through the roof right now because of that which makes no sense because they're not even watching me they're just chilling one of the interesting things that I've realized is I've been doing some body work which basically like massage work with my athletic trainer oh Ace run city has to do with a lot of the reason why my form might be struggling right now I think still on here I want to try like this pushing highs line with this little Kevin keeper Pier stay up oh great shot not a Gold Line guy yeah man I feel like those are pretty similar discs but the premium one I feel like it's more stable even though I don't know if it is one of the things I've really been working on with my trainer is we were doing some bodyworking he's like yes some of your areas especially your shoulders and things are some of the worst that he's seen and I think a big part of that is I've very conservatively thrown like 50 000 drives in the past year without a lot of lifting or stretching at all and so parts of my body have kind of conformed to my form and for instance forehand I'm gonna talk about this in a future video but like my forehand has been out to the side here and I think that's because my body doesn't like it really does not like this position it feels super crunched and so doing like four range of motion lifts is really going to help to kind of I'm hoping over the next honestly six to 12 months we'll get that back into a position where I can't get into all these positions that I need to be with my form because some of it even backhand wise like this is a really uncomfortable position for my hand even though it's kind of naturally where your hand used to be in order to make that movement work well unfortunate but we're kind of gonna deal with what we can a little flexi forehand okay crust I feel like the backbend's a little longer than the front because I played through the back then just as a little warm-up and that's what I realized like I could do this how-to video and I might still after this but I just gotta show you this whole 18-hole course in honor of Brody being literally two holes over we're gonna go get freaky Zone Kevin Kiefer warm stuff he told me to do that's gonna be short let's try just a forced over Envy that'll help that's better man it's not coming out what kind of crazy nice little baby death putt all right we didn't let Brody down oh not twice there's luck though all right hold four you can probably see up into the left it's 355 from the long probably the force over looks like it might be the player or at least maybe not even a force over maybe just like a turnover this might be going to try the Pharaoh one even if that's not what I'm gonna throw at 355 I'm probably gonna go distance guy turn that over way too much I think that line with my halo one is pretty good we're gonna try the sparrow flat and just kind of see okay it was it was turning before you saw it smack that tree all right we turn this over somewhere oh way back here oh not terrible way better dang man nothing I mean that was that was don't say dang when you make it crazy like you're fun I think a big part of myself honestly all right we got a pretty cool one par four it says 282 it's that position really interesting line it kind of looks like a flex forehand is the play not as nose down as I needed it to be oh it's so much more stable didn't hate that if I got out of the side of that tree the funky eye the super super flippy origin just gonna hyzer up the whole way I mean that disc is just crazy go in I mean that's a great shot but yeah I got that fly right in my ears I point the putt now this is the first one that might never mind not a part four way up there to the right or to the left sorry we're gonna do a bunch of one shot holes here maybe two because Brody and Ezra sneaking up on me man it's just everything is slippage really annoying and I wish everything about this park is great except that they have such Dusty t-pads with no I almost had sweepers brooms God don't be stupid Echo Destroyer don't be solid oh my God I'm slipping all over the steeped yeah that's perfect I mean as best as I can do maybe not but got most of the distance things just got like this great little late flip with just a little more expected I think when it's in a headwind which is what I threw it into there it pronounces that late flip and so I was like oh perfect it's gonna start fading back and then it just kept turning a little bit instead of giving me the fade and push towards the basket but yeah I mean that definitely was it we're just under pinheim we had some bushes so stay up another birdie which is a par I think they're reviewing from the shorts like their new Putters or mids that are dropping so like running through this one shot one putt throw to t-pads I told him they could play through but they're like oh you'll probably be faster and I'm like okay no I have to actually be faster that's the problem oh it's definitely one that I want multiples on 186 feet straight ahead I think once again in honor of Brody getting on my tail we're going get freaky oh baby come on okay Envy Swing Swing Swing Swing but I'm saying this is what this goal is meant to be I'm not talking about the Russian I believe that this property is just like it's not getting a lot better than this air quality index is terrible today really scary don't like that definitely gives preserved Vibes like just outside of Minneapolis if you've been in Minneapolis you haven't been out to this course I'd say this is definitely one that's worth a trip all right looks like we got the basket all the way down there true Par Four finally they call it part five so we're gonna lace one out there maybe straight with a little left finish I think we could go like a fairway here but no reason why we can't push a driver all right that's where we love the late flip a little more highs than I want I thought there would be a little more headwind but there wasn't alrighty pharaoh yes that's why you love the Pharaoh dude just a bomber on hyzer look at whoa that was not massive massive but kind of huge and then just continue learning it I'm gonna throw the CD One real fast touch a hyzer late drift should have some finish okay definitely thought it was a little more stable than that which is good because I want it to be that understable when you throw it at that high speed okay what I think happened I'm pretty very happy about my choice of adding that neutral nine speed to the bag did I pass it I had to have passed it right no okay the CD one's about 70 feet farther whoa this anyone's probably almost 400 feet so we're like 120 out from the basket we're walking backwards about 50 or 60 feet to my star destroyer and I didn't get the full rip with Echo Star Destroyer but I feel like because of the stability of this oh it's pretty neutral but also a nine speed I feel like I'm gonna start throwing this on a lot of those shots that I don't need crazy distance but I want to kind of stay close to the Fairway Crystal Flex Zone oh yeah but I think that because it doesn't move as much left to right and it still gets really good distance especially probably at my arm slot right now maybe throwing that a little bit more than like that Echo star where the heck does this Fair go though okay this Pharaoh is like an 80 foot bid almost Pharaoh never even got past fly I think Bombs all right we gotta walk this Zone in because they're behind us again because they just played that little dinker hole and I was trying to figure out some of this here drop we'll take a bar well this round has definitely got a little rush compared to how I thought it was going to be but we're a whole nine somewhere under par sure if we like had our time we'd be playing a little bit better but I think I'm gonna try a forehand on this one it's 375. I've not really been reaching that but I like the shape for the forehand here and I think with these recent tips like it's been feeling a lot more powerful so I'm just gonna go for it yes wow I think that was over like well over 400 feet that almost hit my van that's not supposed to happen on a forehand for me what's that oh thank you these guys are just throwing what the heck watch my camera just like say anything next time so I did look at udisk from where I put that it said I was 410 feet from the t-pad which would make sense based on how long that hole says it is I didn't think that I had that and that was also like four feet off the ground the whole time hectic Frontline over hectic back nine to start this was some type of video count that not as OB even though it probably is we can take a bogey doesn't really matter we're not really playing four score there's no chance we're not shooting under par unless I like hit all these trees because this back nine is definitely more wooded and it starts here with an actual par five straight through here and then curving up to the left it's definitely eagleable but it's kind of guarded for the last 250 feet so it's a tight shot for the second shot if you are able to even get the first one down there and this is one where I still probably would throw driver because of the ceiling we're still going to go that Destroyer I just cannot believe how far I just ripped that for him get off it okay now it's not flipping that's also because there's a Tailwind pharaoh a little too flippy got some catch them out catch the magic man that thing goes so far so we still got some distance it's kind of up through this Gap and then to the left you have to get a little lucky but I think we're gonna go that same Echo Destroyer maybe just practice this standstill shot skip straight oh that could have gotten really good I meant to push it a little more right and I probably should have aimed my body a little more right because I kind of threw Right Where I Was aiming which I tend to do better on standstill when I'm running up I tend to over rotate slightly and push it out to the right that's why it's definitely a bit of a soft five because even from here the two pretty mediocre shots some would say bad still have an eagle bid there it is Ace run City try to head up to the right I think we're gonna go my little retro up here the Kevin key for one really practicing these turnovers focusing on throwing it out and then following through instead of over rotating because if I over rotate this is going in the crap way early together okay it is more stable not a lot that other Pier I don't know if like there's a difference enough but let's go in oh just laughed hold 12 we're gonna try some funky lines in this one basket straight through there this is the Fairway though that turnover it's climbing up the gut route I wish you're definitely gonna throw maybe with Crystal Flex we'll make it real we're gonna throw it for our actual shot I think I'm gonna try to go on the inside of it because this guy's not super stable foreign 's feeling a little bit better than in the watt versus glitch video huh jeez all right whole 13 this is the one I think it's kind of dumb because right where that Mando sign is pointing to the left it just goes straight in from there so I feel like it's actually a grenade which I don't know how to throw maybe just a big old Spike hyzer something super stable yeah maybe we go flat top Firebird that might have worked oh what it hit a tree and it just rolled back like 50 feet the only other thing I can think of is like like a really flippy disc like my heat throwing a lot of hyzer and just hope to get lucky through a gap if that Parks it I'm gonna be so pissed I think that part so I'm pretty sure I see that my heat is just as a circle maybe just inside we got a little bit I've been throwing these on a lot of hyzer so really make sure it comes out flat and high foreign let's go I got our basket Straight Ahead there it is 360 feet it says it looks slightly longer than that I think it's the CD one through kind of that middle Gap I've been missing this one on a little too much hyzer okay slight headwind too so maybe that makes me want to put more hyzer but I think I'm just going to try to throw same anhyzer maybe slightly more left stay up skip straight oh yeah they got that nice little nose up finish yep that was the right disc for this shot wow all right hole 15 385 down here and kind of pushing straight and left problem is I don't know if it's a driver or that Fairway the cd-1 or strike or something I think I'm gonna try the driver you know we haven't been throwing it very well we're gonna try to throw this Halo Destroyer on some Flex down the middle Try Not Over rotate to give the powers to actually throw it out similar to how I was talking about those piers and that turnover shot just much more power and much more distance and like drivenness here so it's really easy for me to just open up and rotate instead of staying close and throwing and then rotating you'll even feel a difference like if you let your body rotate while you throw feel something but if you let your body stop and then you throw you'll feel kind of your fingertips have a little more blood that comes to them because they're spinning so much faster so not quite as nose down as I won't get through that though dang it if I got through that that's still parked but ah try something even more stable textbook over rotation at least I did something textbook you know after a couple more try the CD One yeah man I something about that disc and I just we're clicking we're clicking and now we're gonna try this slightly stable strike throw it flat it's a little bit more stable than that CD one but slower flat and hard oh baby I need to spend more time with that disc because that flight those seven speeds are so gladly they're so good baskets right through there strike is parked if you can see the strike you can see the basket dang what a great shot just working with these seven and nine speeds and like what I'm in the woods those are the fairways those are what I gotta be throwing hopefully soon up to over 400 feet but right now okay we're gonna do something floaty I think rodinas are left so I no longer bound to the cause of my contract that says when they're here actually get freaky we're just gonna do a nice little floaty bid with this Kevin Kiefer pure Kevin kiefer's never been here but he's still been putting no more okay oh let's freaking cool I'm loving those floaty vids right now and then to add some like icing to the cake this is the CD One inside the circle barely don't look at the putt strike Parks it needs to be parked when you throw in Mr KK himself Kevin told me that he'll often watch these like right around the time that he's showering so I hope that you're enjoying watching that throwing on the toilet Mr keeper this is very aceable hole 230 feet right in between those trees he's got to hit the right line we're obviously gonna do it first time I was gonna give it to Brody but we're gonna give it to Kevin says he just went in the basket so maybe actually oh my gosh me and that disc love each other right now on to the next all right hole 17 they call it part five I think it's actually Par Four 591 feet up into the left you can probably barely see it through those trees this is one I think where I need to start working on throwing my Fairways instead of just like trying to rip a driver max distance because my difference in distance there is maybe if I get a good hold of it 20 or 30 feet as long as I don't feel like I have to overpower and over rotate on my Fairways yes we're very happy just don't slow down too much just got a lot of finish which is really nice like that's a great disc see that a lot more flip and I need one of those that'll just keep on turning but that in of itself is also really great shot okay a little more hyzen I threw both those other ones on I'll need to work on that a little bit all right the basket is way over there to the left I picked up three of the drivers of the four that I threw and they were all shorter than these discs and these were much more controlled lines I think it's because like I'm not in an open field like I can't really give it a full rep without any disregard for anything so I have to tone down on it a bit and that same level tone down with a disc that's meant to fly at that speed gonna go the same distance if not slightly slightly farther okay not bad it's not good it's not good hole 18. it says Par Four it's 440 all the way down there looks more like a par three I think it's probably a driver just because this is where like that distance does need to come in yeah to see how it goes you know this is one that's a bonus burning for me right now hopefully soon will become more routine but definitely a little bonus right now thank you yes dude yep get around it dang it oh that was gonna be parked oh but it wasn't but it wasn't keep drifting that's a putt definitely a bit disappointed by this one I think this thing was still pushing pretty good do it oh my gosh that shot is getting die old dude oh Crystal Flex Parky all right here's the echo starter store here we go crazy little throwing with Kevin almost another bogey definitely
