welcome back to bidenza disc golf recently Simon has been talking a little bit of crap as he moved over to MVP saying that the hex is quote unquote the perfect md-1 he still says he hasn't thrown it a lot on tour and I did notice he was throwing his mind mender a little bit last year so is the hex actually the perfect md1 we're gonna find out compared to the c-line md1 as well as Matthew when I posted that I had gotten this from Another Round Disc Golf thank you so much another round Denver for hooking it up as well as a cloud breaker which I'll be able to review soon Matthew had let me know that he actually had an old md1 which feels very different much more like a rock so big shout out to Matt seems like a really cool guy here in Denver I'm sure we'll be getting some rounds in maybe on camera if you guys want but we're gonna play nine holes putting the c-line md1 the new one up against the hex up against an old innova-made md1 it's 167 grams first run right owls then disc golf course here a little nine hole track which everything is in like the 200 to 380 range so perfect meter resistance most around the 300 points all right so we're gonna get started here hole number one it is 290 feet straight ahead of us that tree to the right in front of the basket is about 40 feet in front of it so we want to make sure that we beat that tree which should be nice with all these discs this is Max weight ish 177 I think the hex is 176 and just by feel this feels much rounder fills your hand a little bit better than the hex which feels more like a traditional mid-range and the md1 is definitely deeper definitely deeper than the hex but The Parting lines like the wing underneath it seem pretty similar this is a little more bladed this is a little more rounded and I had bagged the hex for a little bit but took it out of my bag because it's a little too finicky and it's got no Dome where this does and everyone says the hex is such a far flyer honestly I think a client md1 will probably far fly will probably fly farther than the hex just because of how Dome works on discs hold on miss that tree no oh that was such a really pretty beautiful shot oh hex that just stayed so straight though that is such a straight disc that's good because I'm thinking about bagging md3s this year so that might be a good compliment that one was a little wider I saw the wind push it back to the left I think it hit almost exact same point in that tree though and now for this md1 I imagine this honestly feels like it's going to be more stable because it has like a little beat it feels Matt was saying that it feels more like a rock and it kind of does it definitely is different it's SG line I imagine it's gonna be a little flippy though because it looks pretty beat no stable I put a little more highs on that one than the other ones I thought it would flip I can't believe I just smacked that tree in the same place two times in a row well I guess this is kind of an argument for my consistency maybe exactly as far from the t-pad as each other just aim for the middle first run md1 off to the early lead what I like about this course is there's only one hole it's like under 220 and there's a couple holes that are pretty decently over 300 that's normally my mid-range distance all right so it does seem like the hex and the new c-line md1 are more similar in Flight than the old first run SD line because of the lack of dominant hex though it does seem like it will move a little bit more left to right off of One initial throw I like the fight of this I really like the feel enhanced too it does feel just like a mind Bender because a mind Bender was basically a c-line metal flake-ish md1 but the Mind mender was way gummier if I remember correctly so number two there is that kind of tight line to the right we're going to go for the turnover just to see how it holds and it's a little bit tighter of a line adds a little more danger in here but has two line md1 I was up first get through somehow yeah that was fair that was a really bad shot my struggle with anhyzers and this is a good teacher moment is I think oh I have to throw over them and and rotate instead of trusting if I hit my spot out here Embrace behind myself it's going to go on the path so I end up throwing a good shot but I over rotate because I want to watch it through next is the new c-line md1 and that is a much better representation of what to do what's it doing good things happen okay not bad those are two putts I mean they are very neutral so they're just going to kind of hold your line so it really depends on if you put it on the exact same anhyzer and throwing the perfect anhyzer twice it Rose very hard also this hole is in like a 280-ish 285 foot range I should have probably actually tried to throw these instead of trying to like throw touch shots just like throw it at the basket hard and let it go past it but for some reason in my head going past the basket is worse than going up to the basket it's a really dumb way to think about things flip man that thing is a good little kick there but the handy ones better that basically proves it all right the two MD ones are all tied up hex needs a birdie and just like with all bagger bits if I can't be part with any of these discs they're going to be given away over on my patreon which we call the sponsor Circle because if you are in it for a year you'll pay for the entry into one of my tournaments but there's a ton of benefits and stuff that you can check out link down below I don't imagine this would be a typical use for these discs for people but we're gonna throw them on a forehand and just see kind of how they hold this one's only 220 feet so we can throw them on a slight hyzer see if they pop up but we're not gonna throw them too hard and we're gonna focus on finishing slightly Palm up because that will make sure that they can't really roll over too much so quick tip make sure you pop them and keep the Palm up not the best for your elbow so don't throw full power drives that way because you need to make sure that you pronate afterwards but if you want to just make sure something stays on hyzer like this it can be good get there oh a little more flip up but it's gonna go in the basket oh oh those are really good shots and they are stable enough to hold forehand torque if you're gonna throw them for some touch forehands especially like that's really good if you're in the woods and you kind of have a bad stance and I haven't seen a lot of Woods Golf here in Denver recently don't worry I'm going to get out to the good courses out in the mountains once the snow melts all the way but when you're in the woods you can't really do a run-up if you can just kind of flick that like that instead of taking your overstable disc you take something like this which is neutral understable and you leave that Palm up it'll help push it a lot farther straight and still give you that finish just like all these had so we have putts uphill for all these honestly thought that I threw in the hex all right hey now as long as no Bogey's no giveaways but man I feel like just because this is in c-line plastic and in my head for some stupid reason Champion or sea lion or proton or whatever is associated with more stable even though I know an MVP it's normally less stable than Neutron which is the star equivalent for some reason in my head I'm like oh that md1 is going to be so much more stable than the hex but they do seem very comfortable and the one has the box we have a left right wind so if we throw it flat out slightly to the left kind of towards that big tree it should glide back in this hole is just under 300 feet it's like 298. all right literally aimed right at that tree oh and I had some Integrity in that crosswind it's down there though that's a putt sgm D1 I think these will put a little bit of anhyzer on them at that same aim point much better really good and now for the hex okay that's more Integrity I think the nose is slightly more up on the hex than it was on the SG line md1 all have butts I feel like with the mid if it's under like 310 a lot of times I'm like oh I can throw it so baby and like these aren't bad but I'm excited next one is 3 30 and we got like 270 then 340 then 380 and the last one's just over 300 as well so we'll have some good finishing holes that are much more mid-range assistance but these are not bad at all I would probably throw them in here just save my arm make life a little easier everyone has lost the box but we're getting birdies we're happy all right 325 that ahead of us pretty nice hole here got a tunnel to hit towards the back maybe that's starting at 220-ish feet um and you got to carry it so we want to kind of hit high up towards that right side of the tunnel and let it finish gladly towards the basket pretty good disc for the shot we just got to commit um sgm D1 it's up first Flats like Tailwind so throw it flat and high try to keep the nose down not an easy shot for me not bad I did not put that quite right enough so I like that shot I like the distance just not quite right enough oh my gosh I think I put that one right here that was nice and generous all right I'm gonna rethread those get up and down with the hex first though so I'm not cheating or anything hey so at this point you're gonna see me running up there and kind of tapping all these in and then I came back and with the intention of rethrowing them really well ah I kind of did not rethrow them any better than this so just a hard hole for me did not throw it well on to the next all right we have a pretty significant left to right win on this hole didn't really learn anything from the second throws because they were pretty bad that's probably one of the harder shots on the course just that's the heart shape without it overstable disc that you can Flex or an understable one you can hyzer flip and make sure it comes back so not mad about it everything took the par this one is going to be pretty just dead at it flat to baby hyzer because the wind should just keep it straight if not even push it a little more right but I ran a couple times to get those discs so my heart rate is up dang a little too much hyzer not a bad shot though much more what I wanted it to do still a little pretty decent a little high and a little more finish I'm gonna throw the same shot with md1 oh that kind of drifted a little more similar monetizer hmm so if I remember when I had initially reviewed the Mind Bender versus the hexes actually versus that hacks that I'm throwing right now and I said that the Mind Bender was pretty significantly less stable the Mako 3 was a little more stable or maybe I threw against the buzz but I remember them the Mind Bender being slightly less stable than this new md1 but this one's still by no means is like stable I'd say it's pretty much this mania's version of a mako 3. this is a really good mold it just is very much like for me feel and Company dependent if you just want to throw this Mania throw this disc if you just like the feel of it being a little deeper for this disc if you want to throw gyro throw the hacks and if you want a more readily available mind Bender throw this disc for four days oh gosh dude I don't know why I turned a new bird there sorry cheese dude throw it in the air all right the stuff's gonna be slightly tricky basket's about 340 down there and the wind is now pushing right to left because we're going back the opposite way at it flat or a little left of it flat because the wind will help it to turn it over but if you show the underside of the disc it's going to just push it on that hyzer so that I put it right on Heiser like I said not to do and it is going to go far but it is gonna go lift holy cow that's a putt for yep oh I get turned get back get back get back back good shot that should be a putt that turn two no too low and turned Yeah the more I throw these the more I'm like man the new MD one is not an old Innovative md1 very different but it's very similar to a hex it's just slightly deeper and slightly domeier and I'm in someone else's Fairway so just chip it up foreign that's cool but all right hex might be taking the lead here and I think that might be for good reason I really anticipated liking the md1 more than I like the hex and uh I think if I the hex had a little bit of Dome how would I like it and I have some fission axes coming in with my stamp on them um pretty soon hopefully that you'll be able to buy but if they have some domey ones I might I might mess with those all right two left this is the bomber and the last one is a nice tight total shot you just says this one's over 400 I don't believe it I don't think I have so many bags right now I don't know if I have my green spider this one oh I beefed turkey from the foundation Lone Star box let's go so unfortunately while I was finishing that jerky and letting someone play through the wind turned into a headwind so we're just gonna mash them hopefully throw them good try to be smooth instead of trying to mash them you know be smooth tell yourself that get your body a little bit be smooth throw far nope I do think the profile of the hex makes it go farther than the md1 because it's a little more bladed coming down here if they said a little Dome I would agree that it would be the first flying mid-range probably but so right now I can't do that can't do that pretty good very smooth not great actually pretty good that's a pot see if it'll go further or lesser good englisher oh I might have been right about the Dome actually I might not take back that what I said so fast oh I think that's a little farther oh yes those are kind of Juiced okay here's the deal uh maybe the wind shifted maybe I warmed up I don't know all I do know is that this hex is 25 feet behind both of these other discs I do think Dome has a lot to do with that there's more air that can stay underneath the disc keep it in the air I think a lot of people think that the hex is the farthest line mid-range because they compare it with things like the buzz which has the same numbers slightly less Glide they say but the buzz is typically more like an overstable straight mid like an emac truth like an mb3 whereas this when you compare with other things in its class which this is I would say more like a five five zero zero not 5501 or something or it's five five negative one one I would say that it the md1 maybe the M4 like I don't think it significantly goes farther than those discs especially if they have Dome so I don't know I don't know y'all can argue with me and say I'm wrong but if I make this putt you have to shut up in the comments deal dang it you guys can chatter and chatter and chatter unless I make this oh too high got it no my gosh all right then all right dead ahead of us just like 260 ish 270 280 293 175 000 feet 290. since all these are flat I think slight Annie at them we'll have it finished down towards the basket and give us a little hike so I will have to say once again big big shout out to Another Round Disc Golf Denver local shop here really with another round out of Charlotte who has all the aces that you've ever seen in your life from Joseph and then this md1 big shout out to Matt thank you so much hopefully we're both I'm surprised because this is 167 it's 10 grams lighter than these but it's more stable than both of them so I don't know this old Innova made stuff kind of lasts I think I totally proved that the hex I very much definitively prove that PEX does not go the farthest but I think here we can also prove that it will Ace the last hole foreign Get Lucky ah not bad I think it's definitely more stable there's also wind pushing that way just throw the md1 in the basket oh my God it's one of the hardest parts about like doing nine holes for reviews is like I would probably even though it seems like a good hope for this I probably wouldn't throw this on this whole I'll throw and even flip your mid-range which right now I don't have this is admire both stable oh good shot I know you guys have been waiting all video for me to make a good putt so I figure it's about time to deliver I guess that's good it's a nice putt but it's not a good pun ish so we got the hex and the two MD ones uh honestly I feel like I like the hex more than I like these especially that prism plasma one that was in the OTB drop unfortunately I had to give that back to another round for mystery box that we did but if I got one that had that kind of Dome I might think about throwing the hex in that straight to understable slot I still haven't found out my overstable Straight mid-range yet kind of like the md3s but they kind of also fit weird in my hand so not 100 sure but definitely a good disc a bag of disk um not going to my bag though unfortunately but luckily I was under par with all these so I'll get to keep all of them but yeah I hope that that lets you know anything a little more stable than the Mind Bender probably but really good disc this old innovo one really cool to be able to throw a very different disc a lot of fun being out here I got another video to go and film check out the last bag of a minute right down here or the last no check out the MVP drop that was a sick drop in a really cool video with something really cool that happens that never happens for my channel but it happened in that video go check it out right down there ah subscribe like the video okay love you guys bye
