hello everybody zach here with foundation disc golf hunter behind the camera this is going to be our first disc review of 2020 we have the machete so we're both going to be throwing backhand forehand i'll be the lower like intermediate player backhand and hunter is going to be their professional backhand and then almost switched for the forehand but he's got a better forehand than intermediate um but all right let's get this going holy tank all right so i'm gonna give my initial review on this backhand first off it is super flat also the rim is on the smaller end it feels really good in my smaller hand i think it's super overstable think firebird raptor something like that it's definitely reliable where you you know if you put this thing flat it's still going to come out um even if you rip on it hopefully that's what we see 100 throws um and if you're throwing this on hyzer then definitely definitely um that exact angle you put it on is where it's going to fly to i'm excited to put more power on it when i throw it for hand to see what it does but this so far is seems really reliable all right so that was my first time ever throwing the machete i had heard some people talk about it but i didn't really know what to expect and let me tell you it is extremely overstable um which this is honestly a disc i didn't think this craft made something that no matter what the wind condition is no matter what's going on you can trust this to come out i threw it flat as hard as i could it went straight for maybe 200 feet before it started coming out and then it kind of slowly faded and dumped to about 300 310 and then i threw anti-flex on the way back and i backed up an extra 50-60 feet um and i think i was able to get it probably close to 350 because it ended a little short of zach but i mean i put it on a lot of annie it felt like and it fought out very quickly um i will say it has a little bit more stable than a firebird flight to me at least but it also seems to be a little bit faster i would guess this is a 10 maybe 11 speed uh if the firebird is your baseline for a nine speed feels a little bit thicker but because of how flat this is it feels very good in the hand doesn't feel too big i don't think anyone will really have trouble gripping this disc um i'm excited to see how it flies foreign all right so as i kind of expected this disc is a little bit too stable for my forehand um i threw it on a touch of hyzer and it went like right at 200 feet and when i threw it anti-flex with it i wasn't throwing as hard as possible but it went only like 250. um but that's about all i would use this disc for is just kind of like utility up shots uh in a lot of wind you know crosswind stuff like that because this thing has zero glide and is extremely overstable and reliable so no matter what wind you're facing you know what flight you're gonna get out of this personally i'm considering putting this in my bag i'm simply because the most stable thing i have in my bag right now is a crystal rafter and i'm a little bit scared and a headwind that that thing might flip up on me a little bit um and i know this thing wouldn't but i would probably get this in a big z or esp plastic simply because that would make it a hair less stable than this z plastic but if you're looking for a disc with no glide that you can trust in all conditions i think this is a great option no matter what plastic you get it in all right so so far we know this disc is super over stable i'm gonna go ahead and crush on this thing with a big annie but with this disc really you're just trying to get 250 300 feet out of it just as your utility disc but let's see how it can hold up to the torque and then we'll go from there all right so like i said with backhand with forehand this thing is super overstable as well um when i threw it flat maybe it went about 230 to 250 when i threw it off annie i put it on some height just because i wanted to see how long it could hold that angle but it didn't came out right away so definitely no glide like hunter said maybe it was like 280 if i maxed out during as hard as i can with this forehand maybe 300 310 so if you're going to use this it's going to be for a purpose definitely a good utility disc hunter said he has some issues with the his crystal raptor i have a different run that i use um is our second run which is more overstable so this almost um is is similar but the crystal raptor actually has more glide so if you want less glide then this is what you're going to want all right guys thanks for watching this first review of 2020 let us know in the comments below if you like this and if you have any more ideas for us all our links are in the bio instagram facebook twitter our store patreon all that good stuff and we'll see you guys next time
