Video Transcript

What is good foundation nation? Welcome back to break 69. >> [music] >> Well, back to New London for a break series is what I meant to say. This is episode one of break 69. So, I broke 68 at New London almost a year ago. >> No problem. >> Now, it was a problem. Took me 2 years. 2 years of trying. >> It is crazy thing right now as we stand here, we could be starting a series that could be years by the time it ends, everything will be different. Connor might not even be here. He could be dead. >> It's true. I could be dead. >> Any of us could die at any time. At any time. New London got redesigned if you're not aware. So, this is a completely new course. There's a few holes that are the same, but the par is now 69 instead of 68. The goal is the same. I want to shoot under par at New London. I think this will be a similar difficulty if I'm being honest cuz it got easier in some ways. Like there's very very little OB, almost no OB, but it got harder in other ways. There's a lot more trees. In my opinion, I think this course plays a little longer. I feel like I have to go distance driver a little bit more often. >> I agree. >> But yeah, today is about we're going to put a score up. Mentally, I'm kind of taking this whole my because one of the keys for me breaking 68 was I had to learn how to play that course. It was a lot of golfing. I had to learn how to golf out there. >> You were golfing. >> know how to golf out there. >> exciting. Whatever we shoot today, we can start devising our game plan. >> Yeah. By the time we got to the end of the last one, like we knew the plan. It was just coming execute it. But like we have not formulated a plan. >> No, I have no idea. >> None. I formulated a plan. It's next time we will not shoot this monologue on the first tee pad cuz I can't hear you guys over the traffic. >> I am >> going to just kind of attack every hole today and see what we shoot. I'd like to be close to par. I would be shocked if I got close to under par today, but that's it. >> did it? What if you did it today? That'd be awesome, huh? Hole one opens with a As the guy who comes up with the video ideas, I'd probably be I'd probably be mad. >> No, but back to break 60. >> [laughter] >> Hole one's a par four. Yeah, I have the calendar year to do it. >> Go down here and then hard left par four. I I think that one thing to note about this course is at the previous New London, and we'll see how things go along, but I always thought to myself whenever he does it, he's going to have a good bit of birdies. And he did. On this course, I think the recipe is going to be some birdies, but a lot of pars. I think that's going to be more of a get a ton of pars type course. >> birdies out here for sure. >> Absolutely. For sure. A lot less birdies. >> Well, also less OB, which means >> scrambling. >> not have to make like you can make a ton of pars. You don't have to worry about that weird OB double bogey or anything. Passion off the first. Oh, in the way that it was meant to be played. All right. Got so quiet when I went to throw that. It did. All the cars stopped. >> cars just stopped. That is kind of weird. OH! OH, that would do the trick. That'd do the trick and oh. Yeah, I like it. Yeah, good job, Hunter. Go on Skybro, try to get up and down. That's too hard. That's sauce. Oh, too wide. I knew it was way too hard. One thing that's exciting, PA3 back for 2026. >> What 36 Let's sing the PA3 song. Ready? PA3 >> [laughter] >> You didn't know it. Good job, Hunter. All right, tap out of bounds. No idea what was going to come out of you. >> [laughter] >> 400 ft par three. Try to get it through that right gap. I'm going up to the street, which is kind of in my bag as a passion OS. Ooh. Cuz my passion's a little flippy. So, um this street seems to be a lot uh more neutral, a little bit more bite at the end. So, I'm going to try to hit this right gap. Not that right gap. Pretty? Everyone cool? >> [laughter] >> Sriracha. Wow. Roller? Not at all how I was trying to throw that, but hey. We'll take a bogey. >> We're learning lessons right now. I'm not sure what they are yet. We'll have to give it to our interpretation guys. Good shot. All right. All right. Bogey bogey. What have we learned through the first two holes? Tee shots are important. >> Mhm. He's learning. He's interpreting. >> Woo woo, keeping stats on you disc. All right, hole three. Just get this in play. My passion has been very flippy recently. >> Yes. And it just took a nice beating. So, we're still going to throw it on this hole. We're just going to try to trust it a little more highzer. Have you ever considered layering passions? Did you do that? You did once, didn't you? I have a streak in there right now. It might just be time for a new passion. >> Okay. That's a great throw. That is a very good passion. All right. That's fantastic. Fantastic. That's too far left. Oh, wow. Yeah, it's into the trees. Yeah, this is going to This shot here is going to be a tough one to figure out. I'm just It just needs to sit. Long. OB? Probably. Oh. It's a good Your angle was pretty solid. I mean, you were good left to right there. It just That was a lot of disc, I guess. Oh, short. All right, first double of the day. As As we're walking up and I was evaluating this hole, I think that the strategy is going to be exact same tee shot cuz there's really no point in going more aggressive off the tee this early in the round. And then just discing down to a mid on the second shot cuz you don't want to go fairway cuz if it stays too straight, I'm going to go OB deep. But if I go mid, I can get to the top of the hill and be able to see the basket and have like a backhand putter in for a par. And I just don't think at my skill level and distance I can even really try to birdie this hole consistently. >> so unfortunately, like we'll never be at a point where it's like we know we need to attack it. Cuz it Yes, it is. >> go flip up driver and that's the terrifying It's a It's a game plan that we would only pick if it was like hole 15 or like we need a birdie. So, yeah, I think this hole is going to be a play for par. >> Really, the tee shot is this hole. Throw a good tee shot, this hole is very easy. Throw a bad tee shot, this hole is very hard. Passion basically is what the exact same tee shot thrown with my muscle. Not over there. Well, Wait a minute. It's going to be great. Let's go. Well done. Nice execution. If you want other great discs like that passion, you should check out our monthly subscription box. Oh yeah, that's right. We have a monthly subscription box, foundationdisc.com. We have a three disc and two disc option. Each month, we have specifically crafted and themed boxes for our audience. We do insane themes throughout the year. We just did a Christmas box recently. We've done Connor themed boxes before. We do awesome stuff. This is actually where we debuted our prototype mold that hasn't even released yet. Sometimes you get exclusives like that. Check out foundationdisc.com, search our subscription box, check it out. Good shot. Good shot. Well done. I get up and down from there. PA3. Yanked it. Good kick, left. Good kicks. Good kick. Good kick. Hey! >> Yeah, let's go. >> Fantastic. Wow. All right, let's go. Well, if I make that putt, we're averaging a bogey still. >> Excelente. Yeah, get hot, stay hot. There you go. >> Yeah, let's go. That's a par. I think I'm going to go proto disc here. Okay. >> Hole five, 576 ft par Try to get something up there. Oh, it slipped out. I've seen that before. It just normally was on hole eight, huh? Yeah. Well, it's like the other holes when you hit an early tree, it's like, "Okay, we'll learn something." This hole, it's like, "No, we learned this We learned this for 2 years." >> Yeah. You should know he's got your max weight right now. A lot of pressure. Max aura, they're so freaking cool. >> had it really framed up there, and I just was like, "Man, he absolutely mashed it right down the middle." >> He absolutely mashed the aura. Yeah. That was money. A little bit of fade. A little bit of fade. I mean, >> Actually, I actually flexed it. >> Yeah, I was like, "That's a good throw. That's a good throw." Oh, low. Dang. All right, tap in bogey. All right, 1,234 ft par five, hole six. If you heard me right, that's 1 2 3 4 5 6. Woohoo! That was fun. Can I ask a question? Why I didn't put it on anhyzer? Yeah, why were you trying to throw it in? I mean, that's Why were you trying to >> I don't want something to risk flipping over. In no wind at all though? Like what else do you Like I I agree. >> My next stability is the DD3. So, we're back where we started cuz that is a massive >> aura and the DD3 getting insane. Maybe, but that's a really big gap. >> that disc flat, it turns. That looks really good. Yeah, like I don't think I'm getting a forehand there. That's great. Carved it. All right, we can get up and down from there. Yeah. >> It's going to be very hard. I'll be down from there. I You know how many times have we been on this hole and we bogeyed it in this type of challenge? 80%? 90%? Show me some fade. >> Come on out of her. Well, I'll give you the credit in the sense that you ripped it. Yeah, you did rip it. >> a putt. I think I went deep. Dang, hon. Good par save. PA3 PA3 [screaming] Going opposite ways that time. By the end of the series, we'll be a barbershop duet. I'm sorry, guys. I came in flat. I'm not vocally trained and I'm sick. 450 par three, hole seven. Going to go max weight off the tee. Ooh. If you Okay, fine. If you birdie with max weight, I'll finally throw a max weight in my bag. Somebody just has to give me one. Oh, so good. Flipped it all the way up. Yeah, it's not going to >> One more highzer and we've been saved. Oh, it's out of bounds. No [laughter] OB. Absolutely boom crushes though. I found OB deep. OH, NO! >> IS MY PAR PUTT. PAR battles Hunter, dude, one time. Oh my. Oh, yeah. All right, save the bogey. I think I'm going to go up to my DD3. I think I'm going to get aggressive here because we're just learning things. This is one of the new holes. I don't even know what the other like strategy is. Well, the other plan is like throw something straight. So, this is my goal is just to have it like flip up and start turning and just get way down there cuz I want to four this. I don't think I can three this. Oh, way too early. That's probably a good tree. Okay, now we're playing for a five. It backhand roller. Good job. Just not enough anhyzer. Oh, no. Oh, wow. That really kept going. That's going to be a new spot. [laughter] That's going to be a new hole. I think you're on a different property. My my. My my. My my. You know, good shot. Yeah. Oh, no. Fluffed it. Yeah, it's putting. The one thing See, the one thing about this course is interesting is like you've seen now on quite a few holes Hunter has played them not even close to optimal and he's still collecting single bogeys. Which, if the course were had like a really scorable stretch, I'd be like, "Oh, this is great because like you It's hard to make double or triple." >> Yeah. But, the problem is it's just going to be the birdies. There's going to have to be a day where he makes like five birdies and he's going to have to do it then. Hold on. Nice. Hole nine, par five, high can mountain, throw down it. Yeah. That walk sucks, man. It is tough. It sucks. >> we're going to max weight. We're just going to try to let the dog eat here. Is he challin? Is he challin? That's such a good drive. >> [screaming] >> Oh, it's a >> Oh my goodness. >> thing like you might not throw one that good. >> No. money >> But, it's good to at least see like, "Okay, I threw a really good drive." Doesn't matter. What does it give me? >> Let's see. Let's go see. >> It's definitely worth it. Yeah, this is fantastic. Into the gap, which if I get in the gap, I can birdie. DD3 or Passion Torious? I'm going to go Passion, yeah. Nice. I was really hoping you'd get a good one out there so we could see what it's like. Let's go. Right behind the tree. Not a great tree right there. I think I'm going to have to go Do you think I can get a mid there? No. Go fairway. I'd go fairway. >> Oh, you know what? I'll go with the prototype. No, Hunter, I early released it again. My last one was a yank. Oh, okay. Well, give him another par. Oh! Nuts. >> The line looked so good. I'm going Passion here. Uh 335. It's a long 335. I need to just kind of start this on the left and trust it. This does feel like a long 335. It looks like a long 335. What you got, Hunt? Dang it. Perfect flight, just too far left. You'll get dialed in on this shot. >> Yeah, no, this is I feel like this is going to be one that eventually it'll be a birdie chance. The tough part is like you got to off the tee barely miss this tree on the left >> Yeah. if you want to like hit it right. This hole I feel like >> wants you to yank it. >> This shot is a mental shot. Very much. Yeah, no, shouldn't be that hard if you hit it right. How short is that tree? I don't know. You did throw it nose up, but maybe that was just the shot demanded that. >> my MD3's probably landing like where we're at. Yeah, there's no way you're going to miss too short with it. >> No, cuz that basket is a putter. I think it just looks really long. It does Yeah, cuz if you look back at the tee pad, it doesn't look that long. >> And it's downhill. Let's go, Hunt. Try to get out there, get moving left, and see if I get lost. This is another one where like we haven't hit the gap yet, so we don't know. Mhm. I've played this hole and that hole a bunch of times, never actually seen one pureed and like, "Oh, that's where this goes." Okay, that's awesome drive maybe. Two flips. Nope, two flips. That Thunderbird is beautiful. Wow. >> And isn't that gorgeous? >> That was gorgeous. >> Yeah, we are falling back in love with the Thunderbird. Did you see that thing pop up? I saw it. That's what the color glow Thunderbird problem problem Passion's on its last leg. It's all right. Cuz that thing I love when a Thunderbird gets to flip up like that and the Passion will just be out of there pretty quick. >> Oh, that. You had the flip up Thunderbird and the Passion in your bag for a long time. Yeah, it's true. Well, flip up Thunderbird I have. I haven't had that Thunder color glow Thunderbird that flips like that since I lost my last one. >> that? Your last pink one. That you had that You lost at Brad's house. I don't remember her. You definitely had You definitely had flipped up color glow. Yeah. Yeah, all the color glow ones are so good. That was tricky. one of those max weight things. Good shot. Oh, great kick. Easy par. tree This is just that distance, man. This distance will kill you. I'll try. I'm worried my jump putt from this distance I don't think I can hold it straight enough. tree This is just that distance, man. This distance will kill you. >> Did you do your cast method, though? No. [snorts] Could have been casting. Could have been casting. Show him. Show him if you had casted. Get the balance out. Show him if you had casted. He used a PA3. That's what I was saying. Where the sky Yep. Yeah, the cast method. Stay up. Good par. Yeah, Hunt. I I would have sucked to not get par. You played the hole really well. >> 368 MD3, huh? Let's go. Started out there flat for a You need to sharpie that. No, that could be good. Good shot. Good shot. Very good shot. >> Very good. Nice. Wonderful. I love that disc so much. >> [laughter] >> It's good to see you guys back again. Oh, it's so long out of my bag. MD3 Let's go, Hunt. Not close to doing it, but not playing bad. I'm having fun. All right, happy with hole 12. Hole 13's going to be a doozy. DD3 Uh do you think I should go distance or do you think just Passion? Like should I just hit the line. Yeah, okay. I'm fine with that. We can see what that does. >> I'm going to just hit the line today cuz I I don't I genuinely don't think I can birdie this hole. Where I've seen how far drives get. I feel like I just want to throw something that gets me into the middle. No, I yanked it again. Kick left. Oh. You're getting really I will say >> Getting lucky tree kicks. >> We are getting really good tree kicks that like we haven't gone very far in the rough today at all. No, we haven't. It's been pretty mild. I do like the fact that this course though like as opposed to old New London like even if I go away in the rough, I have a chance to scramble. Very true. Versus I'm just OB. Yep. So, I think that will help me score cuz I'm a decent scrambler. To where like that will at least that will at least help like instead of just being back in the fairway at one, I like my chances of trying to forward advance. You know what I'm saying? So, I think that will lead to more single bogeys. Scoring's just going to be very tough out here. Oh, I didn't turn it. Oh my. Too high. baby That's funny how I just gave that speech about how we haven't been that far in the rough today. I was like, "Oh, yeah." That's almost so far in the rough that you're back in the fairway. You're actually on that wood pile. Can you say boom shakalaka? Do you actually want me to or Oh, WHAT A KICK! Boom shakalaka. >> Dude, the trees love me. >> Stop. That's great. I'll give you $50 if you can guess what that disc was. That's the Falcon. No, it's an Ape. AN APE? DUDE, I ALMOST BAGGED THAT EXACT APE. WAS THAT THE ONE THAT WAS in the used section? Yeah. Ooh, that's pretty. Shove a little further right. Nice. >> That crushed. Maybe. We'll see. Hunter Ah, putting so well today. Hole 14, par four. Uh short par four. Birdie a board, I'm going to go max weight off the tee here. Oh, not high enough. Ain't going to turn. Friendly kick. Friendly kick. The trees love me. 2 300 and par. I don't hate that. Come out of it. All right, that's an easy par, I think. All right, stick par. Well, just a Hole 15, playing For this series I got to play the true tees. I'm going down below. What skull is this? The Crystal Skull. I'm pretty confident it's a deer. Crystal Skull is a fake Indiana Jones movie. I'm very fairly confident it's a deer, but I'm also even though my name's Hunter, I'm not a hunter. So people could correct me. I don't even know my name is Trevor. I'm not a fisher. Oh. My name's Connor. I'm not a conner. Passion disc >> [clears throat] >> Dang, holy snap, dog. >> He threw it really good on three. >> He snapped it like like bean sauce. Oh, bad kick. Try to go through it. No. Yeah. It is too flippy. I'M SORRY. >> [laughter] >> A better Rolo? No, dude. I've got a video coming out that's going to put all those to rest, bro. The the freaking flip is flippy allegations. Oh, there you go. Oh, oh, it's broken. It shattered. >> [laughter] >> Second throw with that disc. It just shattered on that tree. What just happened? >> [crying] [laughter] >> I played from the biggest piece, right? Yeah. That's touching for Trevor. Dang. Uh, not really for me necessarily. >> Like it's like my Panther back in the day. Yeah. That's a >> That's never happened. Huh? I was You want to know something though? If that ever happens, you buy a disc from our site and you do that happens within 30 days, Foundation Care still covers it. Dang, hun. >> Yeah. So, you could still exchange that. We'll pay for the shipping back. We'll get you one you love. And that that's how good this Foundation Care is. Foundationdiscs.com, all purchases in the US covered by it. What a spin. >> You don't even have to do anything. Some are saying he broke the disc on purpose, though. Skipping too far. Oh. That's all my fault. I'm still processing. Dang it. You know what's crazy? Literally right before we left, I went on YouTube and on my feed popped up clip that we posted of me throwing the Panther and it shattering. Really? Today. That's funny. I think it's Max Aura. Yes. Let's go, hun. And people When do people When can people buy Max Oras? >> Oh. That's also going to be the release, the first ever release of our prototype disc, first run. Wow. So, the not the prototype, we'll have the name on it which I don't want to spoil when that's coming. I don't know when that's going to be announced. We'll have the name officially stamped on it, first run. Um, Disc Ease, that's when both of those are dropping. So, if you're going to be there, come say hi to me. And get yourself a few of those cuz then they'll hit up they'll hit online, the interwebs, a few weeks after Disc Ease, so probably February. Ah, yanked it. Sorry, Con. That's okay. Oh my Oh my god. The love is insane. Well, [laughter] it worked They have to. They just absolutely RKO one of my discs. That's true. That is true. >> I'm going to pitch this one. Oh, cast? You casting? Okay. Skipping jigs. Let's go. Look how smooth that is. Let's go, hun. I just fixed my forehand. All right, hole 17, par four. Going to go with my It here. This hole's actually gotten a lot tougher with the new OB on the new design cuz the green is so much smaller. So, I'm going to go with the It here, try to get myself in position. I could birdie this hole, but really just looking for a par. If I go par par, I still break 80 today. That's funny. >> Ah, that's OB. That is far OB. Uh, probably okay. Yeah, I don't think it's a putt. Um, I think it's going to be a bogey. Nice PA-3 shot. Trevor? Let's go with the PA-3. Oh. All right, 18. Really all we're playing for here is learn the hole and if I birdie, I break 80 cuz I know I have a bonus on that one. >> But we we're really trying to figure out some distances. So, hopefully I get this Passion out there in the middle so we can see like is it worth going Passion? Should I just go mid? This is a very touchy tee shot. >> It is. PA-3. There you go. Nice. Sick. Let's go. I'm going to go DD3 here. Uh, I need to push pretty far to get where the landing zone opens up. It's like, oh, you just threw that tiny little fairway and you got it to land in bounds now. You got to chuck it to a tiny little island way down there. This hole is hard. So flippy. GO. GO. OH, LET'S GO. I think it's safe. That PA-3 is getting real flippy. >> This hole is hard, bro. Thank you. Let me know what's Oh, yeah. Never happened. Yep. Cut. One sec. I mean, Trevor's making it un- like unrealistic now. We can edit that out in post. >> Oh, first try? >> Try. All right, up and down for birdie. Let's go. I don't know if I can get up and Go. I'm going to throw the Max Aura here. Oh. I'm basically just going to throw a Max Aura. Oh, it's so good. Oh my gosh, it's so good. Wow. >> there? Wow. >> Wow. Let's go with the PA-3, Trev. PA-3. There you have it. So, I think 79? That's so annoying. Yes, he won. >> 79. Uh, let's draw from the positive. We also only shot three over on the back. That's pretty good. Final stats: 67% C1X, 50% C2, 48% driving. That's the big one there. Uh, you were only 11% G- greens in regulation C1, uh, 33% scramble, three OBs. You know, what does it say about me that I felt like I putted really well today and it was 67%? >> of thought you putted well, too. You had tap-ins for bogey on like almost every hole. So, like that was a lot of your putts today were like your a lot of your putts today were like 10-footer like And you made them all. You didn't miss any stupid putts. I'll say this confidently, you didn't miss any stupid ones. I would say you missed like two putts that you should have made. But you made a couple putts >> good ones. that you wouldn't have made. It's not the problem. It was driving for saying. Feeling Feeling that's like a 80% good putting day for >> UDisc round. That's respectable. That's nine almost 980. That's very respectable. >> Right? And then you get to I think it's almost 980-ish. Played it in 2 hours and 12 minutes as well. Very respectable there. Uh, really what we learned today though is just tee shots going to be uh, very important out here. I think that over the time of playing this, I'll learn a lot more when to attack and when to pull back. It it's going to be tough. I think that the scoring I think we're going to see a lot of rounds that look like today's. Mhm. I think that this is going to be kind of my comfortable spot. It's going to be hard to get close to par, very hard cuz I do think that this this course is less blow-uppable, but also less scorable than the old New London for me. Totally. For pros, I don't think that's true, but for me, I think that there's less potential for blow-ups >> Just the distance. and a lot less potential for scoring. So, I need to just get a lot more pars. I need to figure out how to make pars on a lot of holes and then if I get a chance for birdie, take it. Like the hole 18, I feel like I could birdie this one more times than not, but there's also OB. So, it's going to be an interesting series. Is it doable? Absolutely. Got a long road ahead of us per usual with these. We don't make these series where we're going to do them the first time. We want it to be a progression. So, we'll come back out here next month and see what happens. We'll see you then.
