We Didn't Think This Disc Golf Shot Was Possible!!! | Bogey Bros vs. Pros

Watch on YouTube

Watch as Gavin and his team take on their toughest opponents yet in doubles play at New London Disc Golf Course. The stakes are high as they compete against the Bogey Bros, a formidable team of pros, in a battle for bragging rights. With Gavin's track record of success, including beating fellow pro player [name] by four strokes in a previous match, the stage is set for an intense competition. As they navigate the challenging course, Gavin and his team will need to rely on their knowledge of the layout and strategy to outmaneuver their opponents. The conversation touches on the evolution of disc golf techniques, with one pro lamenting the loss of the "hiss-er flip," a once-popular throw that's now largely replaced by newer stable discs. Will Gavin and his team emerge victorious, or will the Bogey Bros prove too much to handle?

What is good, Foundation Nation? We're out here at New London with Gavin playing a little doubles against them. >> All right, it's Tour Championship week. Uh, actually, when you're watching this, it was just Tour Championship week. Finishing prediction, what what are you starting at score-wise? >> I think two under. >> Okay, so you got down by six. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Confidence level. Um, well, he's he's he's got he's he's having a rough week this week and not gonna be able to get in until Wednesday. So, uh, unfortunate circumstances for him, but that favors me in practice rounds. So, practice. >> I mean, anything can happen. Got him. I played with him round two at USGC, I think, and uh, beat him by like four. >> There you go. >> So, we just need a couple of those and we'll be chilling. >> There you go. So, congratulations. You're the now Pro Tour champion. We just saw it happen. Hull one, 643, par4. Basically just a placement shot out there in the middle and then we attack down. >> I think we probably have this in the bag cuz we've actually played the course. >> We've seen the course so we know where to tell them to throw. That'll help us the most. >> Going to just one off one. >> Yeah, we're ready to rock and roll. >> All right. >> Yeah, man. I mean, we we we just roll up. >> I'm down for a two off one. >> Listen, we roll up and get injured. Like that's what we do. >> Yeah. Yeah, you're going to like that. Yeah, you're going to >> not work. >> You're going to like that, >> man. All these new new age disc golfers just ripping over stable stuff. Whatever happened to the hiser flip? >> Yeah, hunt. >> That's too left. >> Is it? >> Yeah. You don't want to be that left. >> We'll have something, but that's the left edge of the >> saying positive stuff. >> I hit I hit a line and it flew forward. So, I that's a win for me for sure. This is my warm-up routine. >> Warm up routine. >> You got to do one, two, three. One, two, three. We're unlocked. >> There we go. >> We're not joking. That's basically every every video we film. That's about it. >> Like a couple drive. >> We do a couple dry fires. Get it rolling. >> All right. Well, hey, we're out there. All right. Yeah. Gavin got a decision to make. Left or right gap? No. >> Oh my gosh. Did he get all the way down there? >> Hit a late tree. >> Late tree. Okay, that was sneaky. Yeah, we're kind of pinched over here on the left. >> Hunter's going to try and go for the aggressive >> magic happened here. >> Yeah, he go for the magic play. See what happens. Maybe. Oh, you did beat it. >> No. >> Well, >> no. It got down there way. So, I'm going to throw the same shot. >> Yeah, might as well. We're in a par. We're in definite par territory for mine. >> I didn't turn around. >> The basket's down there. Trevor's over there. >> You're a mad man. Were you running that little half bid? >> Little half bid. I It looked good the whole way. >> We can go ahead and take a lead here. That needs to get down. Oh, >> it did. >> The next best thing. Oh. >> Oh. >> Oh, that is so far down that hill. >> Go ahead. >> All right. >> All you. Yeah. We don't really believe in >> in uh uh order. >> Yeah. There's no such thing as honors around here. No. Ready golf. Ready golf. >> Unmatched confidence. >> Right. >> Hey, listen. We're The good thing is we're only we're only playing eight holes, so we just have to stay alive for seven more. >> 400T par three downhill. Uh really pretty straightforward. Basket's just sitting out there four feet away. Put it close. >> We don't really birdie this one. >> That's good. >> Not to intimidate you. We are terrible this whole thing. >> Not really our thing. >> And let me get some clout off him. >> Is that actually like his >> uh one of one of his 18? >> Oh, okay. So, he's just hoarding them. >> Yeah. >> Oh, he chose the middle gap. >> Well, that pushes far enough forward you'll have like a jump cut. >> Okay. Okay. Oh, that's a new one. That's going to do it. >> Hey. >> Yeah. Missing, right? >> I don't know if I've ever missed there before. >> I think I just like need to throw something flat. Like I think I need >> throw this disc. Throw this disc. Beat the hole with this disc. >> If I throw it on his like you know where it's going. >> No, you got to beat it. >> You got it. >> All right. Nice and low. >> This is your time. I'm going to just try and throw it. >> Just throw it into the ground. >> Yeah. >> Hit the ground before those trees. >> Yeah. Oh, I like I was better though. >> I respect that. I respect that you ended up in the same place. New way to get there. >> But I overcorrected. New way to get there. That's good. And it was a rocky relationship. There's no sense. >> We had a rough start, but you know, we've made up and it's beautiful. >> Yeah. I say now it's really been good. >> But yesterday you did fluff one from the exact same spot. >> No, I was in the woods more. >> That's >> That's fine. >> 20 ft closer. That's the important thing to learn. I'm really working through some things right now with my game. Oh yeah, Trev. >> Oh yeah, like a true local. Gavin just went ahead and threw it into the path and he's got a birdie putt after his misguided T- shot. You know, that's why they're the pros. That's really been working for him lately. >> He made a lot of those at wind throw. At least the first couple rounds, I think. Yeah, >> the uh round I played with Gan and I the first three holes I hit like triple back to back circle two bucks which was nice. >> 800 ft par4 here. Uh we were telling him this is the old hole six. So a lot of you will recognize this. Um so basically where the T-shots were kind of landing, you get here and then now it's a par4. So you play around this corner and the basket short of the old OB elevated. So throw something down this corridor, throw a hiser into the green. Best play. >> That's all there ever was. Back to the PD. >> Back to the flippy PD. See if we can get enough distance on it. >> I will reassure you that if you hit the fairway, you'll have enough distance. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, >> for sure. Cuz us little baby arms can get enough distance with a fairway. >> That holds. That is beautiful. >> Sit. >> Okay. >> Kind of cute. Not quite beautiful. It's kind of cute. >> Yeah, I would say. >> Uh I went back to passing. >> Okay. >> Hasn't done me wrong yet. >> Yeah. Now, I will say we did like pure it >> like yesterday. I think we have to. >> I'll go up. >> I think our arms are too small. >> Oh, >> not that much either. >> There's never It never was. Oh, it kind of did. >> I mean, that's a >> You might have a magical voice. >> Oh my gosh. >> Oh, I just missed it. >> Oh, not turning enough. Give a magical roll. My voice didn't work. >> I'm going to get somewhat aggressive here, Tra. >> Oh, you're wild. >> Thank you. >> We kind of have to a little bit cuz I we say it's like an easy part. You saw Cran throw that yesterday and inspired you, didn't you? >> Yep. That's exactly how he threw it, too. A little >> Well, yours is fine. That's good. >> Well, he did it with a putter. I tried going fairway. That's not at all what I was trying to throw, but I'm going to take it. >> That's going to stall so early. Help. >> We'll be looking for her. Is that good? >> I think so. I think so. >> Is that left enough? >> It was It was If anything, it was too left. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> This is a new spot. I don't I don't know how many times from here. >> Is that turned? No, it's coming back. Okay. >> Don't Oh. >> Oh, >> I think I hit the basket. >> You're You're the You're the greatest of all time. It's going to be too left. Good height. >> You know, we both threw respectable shots there. >> That's all we ever tried to do. >> Can't get upset with that. That'll pars. >> Really happy that par. >> Yeah, I have to like remind myself we are playing doubles. So like it feels like a huge accomplishment, but also at the same time that's probably shouldn't par that in doubles. All right, we have like a 650 I think it is par 4 here. Tight tunnel to start throwing into a wide open grass field landing zone and then you got an island green. You have to approach from there. Tricky shot. Uh we'll see what he's able to do. We know what we're about to do. >> Hit a couple trees. >> We're going to try We're going to try for Okay, I like it. This is fun. >> Oh my goodness. Oh, I thought it was going to work. >> Oh, now that's just terrible. >> That's not good over there. All right, this is our chance. >> All right, here we go. Skyway >> birdie. Birdie takes the hole here. Problem is sometimes we get out the gap and then we still don't make birdie. >> Let's not worry about that. Let's just worry about what's in front of us right now. >> Crazy thing that happens. >> Oh, okay. Fairway finder. That's the fairway finder. We might be able to attack from there. >> I don't really know where it ended up >> if it stayed middle. >> But it kept sliding. >> Oh, I did it. I overturned it. >> Oh, no. >> Kick left. Oh, kicked right. It kicked down. Okay. One of those is a par. >> Not a lot of air space. >> Nope. >> It might be a This might be a 90° play. >> Yeah. >> Oh my gosh. What the heck? Oh my gosh. >> Yeah, that works. >> Nice. >> How is that possible? We're We're trying to turn it over all the way out there. >> Give it some height. >> Maybe this is what we needed cuz we can't seem to hit the island very efficiently from like out the gap. That is Oh, it is going to hold. Look at you. >> Oh, >> is that sick? >> Too far, right? >> Huh? >> I mean, it's got to be OB, right? But I crossed the island, so I would go to the drop zone. >> 67. >> There he is. >> Nice. >> Ah, grab. >> Should be okay. >> Yeah, that Yeah, you're good. >> Calling a provisional. You know, they say it like a thousand times before every tournament I've ever played. >> It's not in the simplified rules, though. >> Not in the simplified rules. Something to think about. >> Oh, there's the sun. Look at you. >> Delightful. That was delightful. >> You had some snap on that thing, Trev. >> Just kind of hit my hand weird. Wow. Oh. >> Oh, >> that's a trick shot, >> dude. We just made Connor kiss himself. >> M. >> Yep. Yeah. >> Convincing >> an unwarranted part >> just keeping us around. Well, we Hunter I mean we have the advantage on the next hole obviously. Yeah. Clearly >> that we can't get there no matter what we do. >> Exactly. So we will never go out of bounds. >> Excellent. >> I still will go out of bounds. I like somehow got a bunch of tiny like splinter thorns. >> No, don't say that. Hole 15 par three. We jumped over to 15. We're going to play eight hole loop here. 466 ft par three. um just long straight and it finishes right. Typically there's OB all on the left side as you can see on the sign here. But they don't have it marked so we don't know if they're going to like last minute take that out or if they just haven't marked it yet. >> This is game time forehand. >> Yeah, this is a this is a big boy forehand right here. Get out of there. Get out of there. Get out of there. Get out of there. >> Yeah. >> Is that there? >> I think he might have done it. >> Okay. Well, I guess we can't say it's a bad hole anymore. We'll >> see. Where would you rank your forehand as far as forehand power on torque? You a top 20 guy, you a top 10 guy? >> I'd say it's got to be close to top 10. >> Top 10. Okay. >> Yeah, >> that is about if I like like when I'm fully warmed up in tournament. If I see like 460 on a rangefinder, then I'm like pretty comfortable like just like getting there >> comfortable. >> That's how I feel. If I see 260 on >> for me, >> 200 160. So, obviously you've made it to the Pro Tour Championship. You've had one heck of a season. Walk me through some of the like key discs in your bag that like you've been relying on this year. >> I'd say the top three probably uh Exo Hard MD5. I throw this >> Oh, >> I throw this so many times every tournament on just forehand approaches or just powerheisers. Um, I like the base plastic just because it sits, but yeah, this thing has been an absolute workhorse for me all year. >> You have a premium one in your bag, too, right? >> I do. I only throw that backhand. I have two >> I have two baseline ones. This guy's kind of ugly. That one sees things. >> Yeah, this one. This one I can stretch out to like over 300, but it's nice to just have an overstable approach disc like that for my forehands. And then two distance drivers. This Cloud Breaker has been probably my go-to. It's just extremely workable for my backhand. It's kind of just a bomber that I know is coming back or I can hit it on some Annheiser and just really >> really shape it. And then these Skystone PD2s are >> I have course for my sidearm just uh that P2 finish a little more accurate. So, sacrifice a little bit of distance, but on just flex shots or power forehands into the wind, I was throwing this a ton at USCGC. And yeah, I don't know what I'd do without one of these in the bag. So, those are probably three that have saved me tons of strokes this year. Thanks again to Disc Mania and Gavin for making this video happen. Still lots of golf left in it, by the way. But check out all the Disc Mania discs on our site and check out they drop crazy stuff all throughout the year over on their shop as well. So, check out all that fun stuff if you haven't tried Disc Mania out yet. you're missing out. They're also, spoiler alert, title sponsor for a video you're about to see in two days. Impostor. >> Okay, now watch us chip forehands in the saddest way possible. >> Should I try to throw like a back? Let me just say this. That one's probably going to be like 30 or 40. >> Here's a funny story. We had a really big triumph yesterday when Hunter threw the best roller yet from the other T and just made it to the edge of the circle. But >> I'm going to try a roller today. So, Watch out. Where is it? Oh. >> Oh no. I That's just the saddest way to go. OB. >> That was just I mean that I don't even know what just happened to the old good old doubles debate. I'm assuming you guys like to go aggressive first, safe second. >> No, not depends on the situation. >> Not off the tea. >> Typically, no. That was probably a bad idea. >> Yeah, we like to do that. >> We do like it on putts. >> On putts. Yes, >> we're an aggressive first putting team. >> Only way we're going to not do it on the putting green is if we feel like laying up is really hard off the T. No, that's just called us being a bunch of idiots right there. >> I was just feeling it there. >> Respect the play regardless. >> No, there's no there. Do you see that roller? >> There's no I have to earn respect out here. >> Oh, never mind. >> Oh, that's a shot. >> Yeah. See, that's why you play doubles this way, folks. >> It's true. I guess what I'm what we're trying to say is we don't feel pressure, so doesn't matter. >> Perfect layup. Perfect. >> Oh, a >> thump. Not even a thump. >> Oh, Hunter. >> Oh, it's not going to swing enough. >> Also didn't get there either. >> Another fine shot. And there's one of them. There's one of them. Okay. Well, >> go. >> That's a really good bird. I don't >> I think that was a misleading uh >> that's a misleading representation. >> That was very misleading. >> That's a 1% birdie there. >> Hole 16. Uh we're now down two. We got to make a move here. 397 ft through the gap up the hill. Tough hole. Tough hole. I doubt he'll get it first try. >> Oh, that's so low. >> Going to get a counter. >> Oh, what just happened? >> I got eaten up. >> So, this was hole four's t was f. You're standing like three's green. >> Was that turnover backand? >> Oh, four is a little flex. >> Thre's back right now. >> Gosh. >> Oh, it's not going to flip. Never was >> I birded this hole the first time I played it. I have never even gotten over the hill since go >> not even close distance. >> Yeah, that's that's a good Maybe that's the strategy. Maybe it's cuz I try to throw a full power shot every time. Ooh. Hold, hold, hold. >> Yeah. >> Yay. >> All right. It's just a passion. >> We got a birdie. But yeah, maybe for the likes of you. >> Oh, nice shot. >> All right. Meable putt to get within one. Two to play. >> Cash into the >> I just I'm so bad with that putter. >> Yeah, that putter >> isn't November yet. Please get it out of my bag. I putt with the worst selling putter from the previous month every month. >> We have to sound so ridiculous. >> Like that sentence is so silly. >> Well, no. I The goal of it was to be like >> a lot of the year it's been good of like look this putter actually works really well. >> PA2 PA2 Sonar Challenger SS. I was good with that. >> Yeah. It was so far I should have rangeed it. That didn't do us any good. >> That's okay. We like to make our move on 17. >> 762 foot par 4 here. Same hole as old hole five. How many times you think I'm going to say that >> before it's like irrelevant. >> Yeah, we're going to be hanging on to that for a while. >> Yeah, just, you know, it's just how I view this hole. But anyways, just throw a backhand roller, forehand, something out there. Paul Cran is going backhand turnover. >> Well, he forgot his roller disc. Uh, >> good point. Keep that in mind. >> So, get something out there and then attack into the woods. H >> I'm doing that today. Hunter, >> are you >> I'm going to throw as far as I can. You throw your roller and then I'm going to throw as hard as my elbow will allow me to throw and we're going to just measure up. >> Understood. >> We're going to measure up. But like pound for pound though. What do you >> like 215? >> A little over 220. A >> little over 220. So >> what you What are you in at right now? >> Like 180. >> Okay. How many pound per feet? like how far you >> I'll let the comments maybe decide that. We'll do the math afterwards. >> Oh yeah, that's that's the hunter I know right there. >> That's going a billion feet. >> That should be good. If anything, you'll be able right, but it should be. >> So what you'd be giving me? 80 ft. >> 80 ft, Trev. So you got >> I mean on uh So that that just went about 430 and so >> I mean maybe four on that just high. >> Okay. You got 320 in your Trev? >> Yeah. >> I think it's per pound on the same line. Yeah, you got to be the hyd. >> Yeah, right. If I if I even tried to throw the same line, it wouldn't go in the same line. >> What are we often for? >> The ether. You >> ever heard of an ether? >> Another one of those basement molds. >> Uh maybe. Is that the Is that a PD2 mold? >> No. What is that? >> Nope. >> What am I thinking? >> You do not know what this is. >> I'm thinking of the elixir. >> Oh, yeah. Fair. That's the >> That's fair. That's a gateway disc. >> If you stare at it too long, you'll get possessed. So, >> come on. Little pop top. Yeah, sure. Here we go. Oh. >> Oh, Trev, let's go. >> Get off of that. Get off of that. Oh, we would have had if it wasn't for that tree. >> Yeah. Yeah, that one that that one might have got >> that was inspiring. Trevor, where where did that come from? >> Oh, it's not flipping up. I don't flip enough disc. That one will count for the stats, though. >> Yeah, we'll go for the >> You know, that's still respectable. All right. >> It's going to be close. >> We've got them both lined in here. It's going to be close to 80. I'm calling about 110. >> 83. >> 83. You lost by three feet. Dang. >> Heck of an effort. Tra in play. You're off by a pound and a half. Pound and a half. >> No, you're a forehand guy. >> You think that just ether rip job? >> Yeah. >> Didn't turn that. >> Is it good? I can't see. I'm blind. >> Left. >> It's left. >> It's It's safe, but it's not. I feel like every hole we're filming right now is straight into a birdie putt. You going forehand? >> Yeah, you dropped it. Let it eat. >> Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? I can do it. >> Let it eat. >> I think What is that? Headwind. >> Head. That plays in your favor. >> Head right to left. >> Yeah, it'll turn. >> Yeah, she'll pocket. >> Flashbang. >> I love it. >> It's not there though, is it? >> Did it get in the woods? >> Yeah, it got to the woods. >> Okay. >> It's just a little bit sad. All right. Magic died off. >> Big feet inside. Inside. Oh >> no. Squared it. >> Oh, >> bullse eyes edge. >> I'm going to get this one there. >> We absolutely owe it to ourselves to put these putts basket height. >> Oh gosh. >> Okay, I got it there. I did what I said. >> Oh yeah, you went over top. That was a good run. >> All to know that. >> That sucks. >> All right. We'll just have to like eagle the next hole. Always got to film tester putts. You never know. Final hole. We got to get two strokes somehow. There's OB though. A lot of OB. So, it's not impossible. Looking at like a three shot par five for us. 964 ft. Play it down the tunnel. Try to carry the OB in two and then try to carry OB again on three to get into the woods for a birdie put. It's tough birdie for us. >> Yeah, it makes sense once it gets just like Hunter and I never even >> we never we just sense as OB. Well, because also if we have to throw far enough, can't go forehand, >> right? >> Oh, is that gonna be it? >> A little bit, right? >> Yeah. So, like from there, well, you might be far enough that you can carry the OB. >> Oh, for sure. >> I don't even know what I'm talking about cuz we never get that far. >> Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I've gotten far enough back. I'm just kidding. >> No. >> Oh, I pulled it. >> I got to be straight with you, Trev. I think the sweep needs to come out. >> Well, the here is I think it needs to come out. I am throwing the sweep, but I'm also throwing it a lot and I'm throwing everything. >> I just don't think it I don't think it lines with your game. Keep throwing it to make it do things it should do. You're not >> I'm trying to throw hiser flips. >> Exactly. Right. But that's what I'm saying. >> I'm trying to practice though. >> Okay. You're trying to practice it. That's >> Yeah. It's not like, oh, this is my best shot. I'm just kind of mad at it. So, I'm trying to get better at >> Yeah. The sweep happens to be Oh, that's rich. That's ridge. Yeah. Oh, too far right. Uh, that should be okay. That should be okay. Too far. >> I don't think so. >> Same spot as you. >> Yeah, I think right on top of me. Um. Oh, might be out of bounds. Right. Woohoo. I didn't turn it. >> Oh gosh. Turn it. >> Oh no. Double O B. >> We aren't even be able to take advantage. >> No. >> Oh, that's so wide and not high enough. So, >> I like >> Okay, I think we're good with that. >> I think it's too wide. >> Too wide. >> That works though. >> I mean, you know, probably okay at the end of the day. >> No. >> Oh, snap. >> Player two. Player two. All right. Well, appreciate you playing with us. Great shooting today. What do you think of the course? Your eight little >> So far, the first eight holes very challenging, but I mean, it's all fair, which is I think why everyone loved New London in the first place. So, I think it'll be good. Uh, especially as it like beats in and stuff, but it's pretty clean for being like a brand new >> brand new course. So, >> yeah, I'm excited to see how it plays this week and what hot score is going to be. I think I mean I don't know. I can only say so much after only playing eight half. Well, we appreciate you joining the channel. Uh check out his tour series discs next year. Maybe there's some this year too. >> Gravity Bomb. >> Gravity Bomb 2 hasn't dropped yet. So >> Okay. >> Whenever those >> Is that coming in 2025? >> Yeah. Yep. >> Gravity Bomb 2. Check out PD2s, right? >> Look out for those whenever cuz I don't know. >> There you go. Well, hey, be hyped about that and we'll see you in the next one.
