welcome everybody to the fifth annual buffalo run disc golf tournament sponsored by DG a disc golf legacy discs and native disc golf my name is Gabriel down and I'm here with Bobby Cox how's it going everyone we have a pretty awesome card for you today we were only able to make it out for the segment third round but we do have coverage for those for you we do have Kota Hatfield Kevin Jones Emerson Keith tied at 10 down Matt house the course designer actually won back from these guys it's pretty windy day yeah that's outside but gonna be a battle it's a little windy but starting off hole one this is a par four these sidewalks are playing OB that parking lot to the right is OB as well there was a little bit of a right-to-left wind today so you're gonna see a lot of highs I'm sure some of these guys have the power to get all the way there which is a crush but we do also have a little landing zone right in front the basket in front of the creek there and not gonna because OB it is it is and you'll see a lot of layups just to tap in for the break yeah this is definitely an eagle a bull hole for some of these guys look how windy this yeah I I forgot how much Wayne there was that day KO's going with the Heiser trying to play it safe yeah that's a little too safe yeah well it's me well short he's gonna have a pretty tricky up shot especially with this wind and the creek and some trees in the way I believe mm-hmm here we have Kevin Jones who had a great season this year I mean the banners are about to like rip off the pose yeah yeah it's it's ripping up there but you are on the first tear up on a hill and yeah exposed he's going with the Heiser playing a little safe and that's the perfect landing zone yeah for the safe shot mm-hmm this this guy bombs ya ever seen Keith sponsored by latitude time a little more left than you want but it's not gonna make that much I mean he's got a he's got a clear look at the basket from there nothing in the way here we got madhouse the designer of this course yeah host of the tournament yeah I did a really good job this is one of the best park courses in Oklahoma for sure it's such a great guy to always get some turn on the disc I'm gonna be trying to go all the way across Wow does and that is such a scary shot that is fantastic you can't also overthrow this for these guys that need to slow down oh that would be just like that that's how scary is that putt gonna be yeah this this greens pretty treacherous it's you've got the downhill you've got the Creek right there you've got the OB road right behind it and it's it's scary yeah you constantly see putts going OB on this hole okay I'm just gonna way up there should have an easy tap-in didn't I mean this is a sketchy upshot to go get the angle right on the disk yeah quite sad to say you know okay I believe it stayed up we have Kota Hatfield absolute nightmare yeah this person oh wow that is such a great comeback er from Kota that was like the perfect but I mean you guys can see how scary that but is creaks right behind there with the downhills on the whole one first part of the round oh wow and we're saying what's the little first part of the day that tests not that wind yeah and this room for Britain in this run you're gonna see a lot of 15-footers that just look impossible yeah with the amount of wind we have today and Emerson is definitely not happy with that par no hole - is a par four seven hundred and fifty seven feet the basket kind of carries along this little I wouldn't say creek but a stream of water yes stream of water yeah but most of these guys will be throwing a big turnover shot just to lay up in this little clear area and then just lay up and get their birdie yeah the biggest key on this drive is if you're go for the turnover shot don't have it fade out early because it might get stuck behind that building yeah building or there's a clump of trees right there as well and yeah it's just guessing often running behind they're out some of these guys also be taking that right gap over the road a little bit riskier that's important with those trees but that's totally fine that's right open your phone dad is a bomb here we got Matt and Matt those pretty far - yeah turnovers well that doesn't look on stage yeah that's fading out early now it's gonna be behind that clump of trees it looks like yeah I'm always gonna have to do from there but it's nothing something amazing it's a little bit more open than I expected but it's not gonna be fun just like a big Heiser out of there or what yeah that's what I'm guessing here we got kota sponsored by dine or actually westside now we're sad and also d mart a little awesome disc golf store in Oklahoma City check out definitely immersing Keith from Denton Texas don't over the road probably yes he is just crushes disks and that's a great play yes that's right where you want to be especially if you have a good forehand which he does mm-hmm and going over the red you kind of cut off a little bit of the distance to come up a little bit short but that's all right yeah just looking about oh that is yeah and mash look the Volt I'll take back what I said earlier he was not in a good spot nope I thought he was a little bit more right of those trees and Emerson's gonna do the hydro over the road I'm gonna try to sneak it in there it's looking good it's got perfect tight Wow that's perfect he's gonna have a easy drop in three and Kevin from a great position as well Kevin go and putter straight at it and that's almost a perfect as well they're wanting to get as close as possible to eliminate any putts hopefully Matt kin Oh got pretty uphill putt here nah he's almost bounce back at him I did a little high but dead center pretty much no I was a get for say from where he was at yeah he put a lot of spin on that to try to cut through the wind and it was perfect captain lining up the turbo there for a second yeah I dunno no I mean that's gotta be like a 25-mile power headland yeah I mean y-yeah great putt puts him at 12 down and that's going right to left you that's like the enemy of his putt because he cut such a hyzer that yeah it could easily just blow right left to the basket oh and coated with a little amp side action and a well-played hole from Emerson Keith oh three is a 303 foot par three you've got as you can see just a bunch of little trees we're right in front of the tee box which is just the main treacherous part of this hole but once you get past these trees you just kind of want to Heiser in towards the basket which is elevated up here to the right yeah it kind of wraps around the building yeah it's it's kind of a tricky shot you don't see a lot of birdies on this hole really just because of all the trees in front of the tee box you just have to throw a tricky line to get all the way up there and then you have to bend around the little hill so in the green is on a 45 degree angle yeah and it's like 10 feet elevated yeah you're definitely set up for failure and that yep unfortunate and you'll see that quite a bit the line is just so tight on this hole and you can kind of bail out on the left side the forehand gap on the left and just kind of play it safe but it doesn't look like they're doing that yeah Emerson gets it up there I want a great roll yep a little more height than he would have been all the way there that he'll just kind of sticks out and if you don't get enough height on it it won't bend all the way around it it Matt's just looking at every possible one here yeah gonna resort to the forehand that's really all that's there man look at that thing go oh that's right Ellen though I do on the Obi thought I was gonna roll back in for a second Cotto's got a great forehand he leaves it just short on that little lump yeah it's like you got to keep it low to get under the trees but high enough over to that hill yeah it salute you have the perfect shot to get a birdie look Kevin a decent birdie look yeah no yeah and this grass I hear is super thick and there's not a whole lot scopes yeah it's pretty crabby and there's a little mud too so yeah that's pretty good from hell Kota we should be able to salvage a par there okay I mean puts a little bit right but I think it kind of drilled down oh yeah trickled down a little bit and we're soon just laying up for his three as well and this green it's pretty scary as well I mean it's downhill you've got the OB right behind - so easy to get a roll away oh oh sit down which Matt house almost had guys surprised he ran to that yeah that's that's a scary putt grape up and Kevin you know not too pleased with the bogey though oh they hit the ring on the job yeah and hit the ring at the top and just dropped it's never fun putting after something that happens like that yeah like that's definitely happened to me yeah please don't happen to me please a hobby hideout that's kind of a weird putt all right you're done straight up so Emerson - yeah he's not known as the tallest guy ever but he's gonna go the turbo he's glad it's a him yeah hey they're having fun all right whole four is a part three 415 feet most of these guys will be taking a forehand just because the gaps a lot bigger on the right side you do have a little flat fairway or mid-range but it's like I said it is tighter and a little bit more risky because it's not fun if you hit one of those trees and ended up with a 300 foot up shots no and it's a very scary up shot with those rocks and the water right there yeah yeah this green there's a lot of treacherous greens on this course yeah it really is a lot of elevation for you know Oklahoma yeah yeah I'm sure if you're watching in Colorado you think this is you know a sheet of paper flat but now Emerson has a good-looking shot yeah as friends up just down the hill though he's gonna have an uphill putt I'm not gonna be on the green that's that the next best place probably I'll have have a look but it's not an easy putt and encode is taking that gap to the trees it's looking nice you just swing over yep oh yeah and that is perfect about 25 foot up shot or uphill putt get going with that forehand flexes it on up there god he's got so much power that forehand yeah he's gonna be about say thirty left I mean he threw that 415 feet with crazy winds out there yeah pretty low to you pretty well you ain't going straight up to get it he's playing that real safe yeah that's okay well hopefully I didn't roll down okay we're good yeah as you can see it I tell you my baby roll off there right behind the basket yeah these greens are crazy it gives it a little run and yeah this is such a tricky putt you just have to get so much loft on it and we can barely see the basket from down yeah there's that big rock right in the way and he put a lot force on that too and it's tilting out there and the wind was kind of coming at him too Kevin with a great opportunity to take the leave here look at it yeah it's just dancing around won't have to tap in for his par total with the best Drive of the bunch oh just out am side snuck right out yeah it looks like we're gonna have a star power yeah those trees right there they were getting knocked over I really didn't remember that the wind was this bad see how I was shivering I was freezing it wasn't even colossi just the wind covert admin for power as well and we are on to hole five this is a par four it's 480 feet it's a big dog leg right most of these guys will just be throwing a forehand right up here to this landing zone and then you have a pretty pretty easy up shot to the green as long as you're not behind these this bunch of trees yeah you're really just trying to get past this little landing area and then just a wide open up shot mm-hmm and then the green not as treacherous as the other ones but there is OB along the left and right side behind the basket so you do have to be wary if going long your cinch don't off that forehand taking the high route yet looks like you might have stopped that off a little bit but that's perfect yeah only any of these guys are going for the two I don't think you actually sub that off because that looked really good it looked like it initially put in code ago with the turnover that might be a little bit short I'm up being the in the trees okay let's turn it over so I got shot down by the wind a little bit yeah but he's in a good spot yep I go at the forehand hook it off mmm yep oh that's gonna be a really tricky lot yeah he's gonna have to squeeze under that tree code almost dunks it look at this yep good thing there's nothing in front of them though yeah exactly should be a pretty standard upshot Oh despite the awkward footing or awkward lie it's better to be on the last side of the tree than the back side yeah obviously good shot though that'll play interesting going with that Boston Bruins justice may throw this all the time a little deep with it yeah a little right stays inbounds but I mean long putt Hey Kevin's laying up as well yeah you played rumble perfect and we're not very pleased with his upshot you just have to get it as close as possible with these wins he's gonna leave it just wide left I bet how about the same distance there you go but he need to get that putter so let's go way to do it come and how beautiful is this course yeah it's it's one of the best in Oklahoma it's a very unique part course because the holes are so long and it's so much variety yeah you know and going back to the elevation change it's probably has the most elevation change well the lodge the lodge probably has a beat but this might be second to the lodge courses yeah if you're ever in the area definitely check it out all right we are on to hole six this is a par three three hundred and eleven feet it's got a pretty low ceiling initially off the tee got a little gap that you have to hit shouldn't be a problem for these guys but let's say most of these guys will be throwing a wide driver that will skip in or a mid range yeah a lot of good shots on this hole will get eaten up by those trees by the basket but you can't do anything about that mm-hmm just right though some straight and have it skip left that's not really the way to play it yep pretty standard and get away from that ditch on the Left yeah there it's not fun putting there's there's also a ditch right behind the basket to that you want to avoid yeah it's not like in the corner of it yeah it is yep accept code is up first and I forgot how low that low hanging tree is yeah right from the tee box now looks like it's hide ring a little bit too much code ones let's go right that'll work yeah it's perfect a little bit short but I'm liking the earpods yeah that looks money the zone that looks money keep it all around Wow right ray stop by Kevin yep perfect we shouldn't have any crazy wind putts on this hole there's some trees wrapped around the basket but I see some awesome putts Emerson trying to catch up to captain again lost a stroke he's gonna have to ace this and he did not it's gonna be a little bit of a tricky upshot once you line it up here looks got forehand flex and that flex a little too soon he's gonna be in the bundle of trees yeah you might have a little gap to the basket it'll be an interesting putt for sure this does not look fun it's so hard to get up to turn on those kind of putts yeah really any any pun general but especially if you're on a knee I can't quite put the torque on it that you want yeah takes a lot of finesse yeah uh-huh so I think I stayed up a little bit yeah looks pretty mad about that putt here's Emerson for three straddle out and kind of lean left it's just it was too - Kevin you know he's he's gonna be taking a bogey on this he drops at the airport okay yeah how's the housing to find that in all those leaves yeah there's like co2 stayed up yeah and co2 first par and Cotto with the great par say they're from the ditch Emerson Keith is not happy about the bogie and losing two strokes to Kevin know how stepping in for his par as well and we are on to hole seven this hole is a par four 600-foot you've got a pretty tight gap right here off the tee that you have to hit it's about I'd say 200 feet in front of the tee box and you really just want to make it through here there's a little landing zone and then you have a tunnel straight to the basket you'll see a couple of these guys I'm sure go over the top just to avoid the gap a lot of land right in here where you're walking around yeah yeah most people will take the forehand but these guys have the power to get over those trees and carry it all the way down the fairway so yeah we'll see what these guys do this point one of the hardest holes out here I think yeah it's a it's these drugs at the tee shots tricky the up shots not quite as tricky and as you can see here Kevin just thrown a bomb over the trees having it turn over and that's perfect yep as long as you're right in that little area because it's gonna try to follow that now is he going to the middle now he's going over top it looks like oh yeah there he goes you need to take off and that needs to drop and it does yeah that's really the way to go if you have the power to get over the top yeah it takes away all that trouble in front of ya because if you hit one of those early trees you are almost guaranteed a four or five yeah oh no and that was like a bad kick Wow at least he kicked out a little bit more towards the middle but I mean he's not gonna be able reach the basket from there no no he was too much better to try and salvage a par Emerson is going up the gut just turning it over and I'm a little shocked by that choice but worked out yeah worked out perfect with the arm he's got not surprising you didn't go over the top I know yes is it a tough shot right here just get as straight as possible I was he roll yeah he was trying the roller and that did not work out for him and I believe he went obj though being up then another incredibly harsh tile having to wrap around those trees he's carrying it over the OB and hoping that he just pokes through the trees it's a gray sophomore heals up yeah he's gonna have a probably about say he almost went obd there you go five yeah he's he's outside the circle there we got Cota playing a while but he's hitting some branches that's income up well short well short yeah he he's gonna be about 30 feet out and this is a great spot to be just because like that tree on the right prevents the hyzer line and there's such a low ceiling on the left side that makes the forehand difficult so really Kevin and Emerson had the ideal spots and that looked like his yellow approach disc from hole to where yeah put it right under the basket great shot by Kevin oh what a great try yeah that was a good run Kota tunnel of some Cherise I'm sure he's thinking about the wind here yeah just low oh wow I'm shocked by that yeah that's uncharacteristic from Kevin he was taking a stroke from Kota in Emerson well I see a lone bird a bird Ellen taking a stroke oh right back yo-yo yeah well done Emerson was this double bogey yeah he's falling a little bit behind with that hole can't be going that direction yeah he's not happy about that especially with Kevin on the card especially on his his own his own course yeah all right we are on the hole 8 par 4 it's 519 feet this has a lot of trees off the tee like most holes yeah you pretty much want to throw either a forehand under the left side to get to this clearing or a straight fairway or driver anything straight really down a gap on the right side to get to the clearing as well and then you'll have a pretty clear downhill up shot towards the basket and yeah you're really just trying to get out in the open then have a wide open approach shot yep so as long as you don't hit those early trees you're good looks like we have Emerson lining up that forehand line and that's smart choice so you can face your target the whole way through yeah I always seen it that way more accurate with the forehand I think it gaps a little bit smaller with the four handle and it looks like it pure dit yeah he's wow he's done a great job and he's gonna have a pretty easy up shot there yeah Kevin with that backhand line looks like yeah the backhand lines just a little bit wider than the forehand like I said so I've actually never even like looked at the forehand gap before I don't think yeah I don't think I have either because the first forehand I really saw was Emerson on this yeah and yeah that's it's a good line here we got coda looks a little high flip it yeah not tree but he's in the clearing and he's gonna have a little bit longer of an up shot but still look at the basket still look yep full motors him that puts out a really nice shot bombed great shot yep and he might have a little putter jump shot up shot no I thought that close is he yeah oh yeah Wow coulda gone with the big Heiser it looks like keeping out of the window and he catches the one tree that you can't hit really the one tree out there yeah nice seventh row shot that Bruins justice Oh scaring it that's well done and Kevin there for the tap-in Birds and that cut the weird bounce there yeah it looked like it was gonna skip right up to the basket but the wind just kind of counteracted it Kota doing its best like get it close to the basket this wind is yeah the winds the wind was nuts on this whole mats just got a straight headwind put right now he's like do I have to put this yeah great oh that is just an awful spit out what Matt putted that perfectly and just got unlucky just bounced straight back yeah I was one of those things with the chain just like bounce back at the perfect time when your discs kind of floating there and just punches it back out the good thing is he has no one to blame but himself yes is his course all right or the wind how's the wind besides the wind yeah all right so we're all to the final hole of the front nine home nine par three it's a 333 foot this one's pretty self-explanatory you're gonna be throwing a overstable fairway low and to the right and have it skip up to the basket or some of these guys will be going mid ragin putter even we'll just see what these guys do yeah and Emerson played that last all really well it was a good uh he's come back nicely from that bogey that he took two holes ago good confidence booster yeah definitely oh no that's yanked yeah he was going for the high route that was he so we'll win the one must been tail-end or something yeah it had to been right for that cuz I don't see people try and go over that tree very often I've seen it before I've tried it myself didn't work but yeah I have seen it before and it's kind of a scary landing you know when it's coming in that hot and the the Greens basically dirt and dirt and rocks and it's on a hill so it's hard I have anything stick up there yeah and Kevin went real low with his and ends up way wide right he's gonna have a pretty treacherous putt yeah and again this green is not fun yeah this is another treacherous basket of Buffalo run it's uh it's coming on a little hill with rocks all around it so you can get a roll away pretty easily that looks really good fit hooks up yeah that wind is just pushing those disks to the right he's getting a favorable roll yep and he is right below the basket probably about 25 feet here we got Matt and I forgot to mention there is a mando to the right side so no forehand no forehand lion or turnover lined allowed yes one of those words really easy to hit them and obviously but yeah this is forcing not to throw a certain life yeah ever since just forced away hurry up shot means the land of softly yeah yeah had a fortunate little bounce there yeah that's cool were a little bit and Kevin he's from about it's got to look like yeah I let's say oh she can't slow man he got that full-on follow with nice that's well done well great to you keeping the train rolling good from down the hill a little bit further than I thought my circles bitchin whoa whoa hands up just left yeah just need to get him a little bit more right he's been on the like in that left side today and oh and that was fortunate for it to stop because that's a pretty mats had a lot of bad breaks this round yeah so far yeah that it just looked like that putt just slipped out of his hand he pulled it a little bit right there's Emerson with a very scary but yeah he's got this tree to contend with as well oh okay he's not that people does not happy at all especially after getting those two strokes back from Kevin I guess one stroke yeah yeah unfortunately bogey that are coated with the par alright and that is gonna conclude our front nine looks like Kevin Jones is ahead by four strokes and coda and Emerson are not too far behind Matt house has kind of fallen a little bit behind this round but hopefully he
