2018 First Capital Classic | Final RD, F9, MPO | Hatfield, Sears, Griffith, Tillman, Scrivner

hey everybody welcome back this is the final round of the third annual first Capitol classic out in Guthrie Oklahoma my name is Gabriel down I'm here with Bobby Cox what's up everyone we've got a pretty cool card for you once again we've got Kota Hatfield that just shot a killer round first round he has three strokes ahead of Kelson griffith and Taylor Sears Bo and Mike Scribner yeah they're gonna have a little bit of work but should be some good golf yeah hole one this is a par three unfortunately we do not have the distances because we didn't have official distances for this course but and there are a bunch of new tee pads but and recently so yeah and then there's a lot of moving around at the baskets as well and this one actually is not this basket right here it's gonna be to the left and straight yeah it's really behind that far tree straight down the middle mm-hmm just want to throw something that'll just flip up flat and ride all the way there and there is that mando pull from the first round it still applies here we have coda and I said this holds probably like 370 I don't know something like that and that's a pretty common thing it highs are not hitting those trees mm-hmm yeah you really want to just throw something that flips up flat maybe has a slight turn to it yeah it's really a hard hard shot I mean keep it just straight that long it's not easy to do mm-hmm and this is looking good yeah looks really good oh yeah and that is a great shot by Taylor it's about 20 25 short maybe here we got Kelson Griffith in case you guys didn't know or didn't watch last round this dude started his tournament with an ace yeah on hole two yeah first though the tournament you gotta be feeling pretty confident of that yeah right like you're steaming yeah here we got both Tillman of course everyone knows him if you're from Oklahoma at least you sound a beautiful shot there while we're right under the basket it's so hard to do you know these guys just got their angles down that's what it takes a shot here we got Mike looks like he'd turn that over a little bit too much that's gonna need to fade hard without hitting the tree it does hit a tree but he's still imparting range yep we got my outside the circle he's just gonna lay it up hurry so I did that me like that treat on the way yeah really don't have a look at it kind of a low ceiling to use yeah I had to kind of jam it in there and posed me back by that Bush it's gonna be a tricky footing all sleeping back there Taylor just just a little too high just Kota for his three nice butt and this is really a birdie or die course the second round or this run right here is a little bit longer than the first round when it comes like the holes but it's still you want to get as many various possible ah-huh if you can just stay away from the bogeys and get the birdies that are there you'll be just fine yep not ask too much of you actually played with Mike at the that Mohawk was it going it was a the turkey warm turkey warm up that white loss yeah Devon put on really really nice guy Oh awesome God play with him he moved up advanced yeah oh yeah you were all the same colors on the same card yeah I'm so sorry I totally feel about that yeah just kind of leaving me out no it's so bad no I honestly forgot hole to this was gonna be a par three a little shorty you've got an OB that carries all the way down the left side which is a road and then there's actually a painted line along that line of trees on the right side as well so this is gonna play in as an island must be able to be throwing the forehand you might see a couple backhands as well yeah if you go for that backhand you have to keep it really low and you're not really gonna count on a slide up to the basket every single time and there's a lot of roots and rocks over there so back in it's definitely the line but if you don't have it or for hansaline but feeling I have it back in can work as well mm-hmm Kelson had a decent Drive there just a little right don't his slightly too high and ends up halfway down the fairway so and that's the risk of throwing the down the gut shot with the backhand is it's just so low and you have to avoid so many trees yeah and Beaufort on had quite a bit of ground action on his forehand shot on this hole but I'm guessing that's why he went to the back end yeah Kota just had something a little bit too over stable and some wind effect who keeps this nice and low oh yeah it's moving all way down there yep you just needed to stay in and it does and that looks like an early release that's gonna actually find the OB right there yep he's gonna be right up that OB line that's the one thing I hate about pantalons is you can't see him from the tee box mm-hmm you know I read code with a pretty scary run I mean this ground is very slick yeah he's not even gonna run that no blame him he's got the lead yeah getting around yeah gotta take your pars unless you're you know 30 feet in though just gonna lay up as well here we got Mike with the super scary puffers 300 sit down and he has gone double OB double O he's gonna be he's gonna hit that come backer for five here we got Kelson Griffith yeah I just kind of got away with them immediately yeah and Taylor for a stroke on the card nope just a little too high and Mike for five come on Mike you got this he's taking his time with this one there you go and that is like the one thing I noticed when I play with them and I'm sure you'd agree yeah very confident but yeah very confident super he always took his time he had a routine and that's what sets him apart and he wasn't afraid to put some energy behind it was shot oh yeah oh yeah parfum Kelson yeah you really ideally on this whole want to have like a touch like mid-range forehand something that'll not have as much skip the land softly I don't feel like no I agree yeah you'll have a it's big district it's not shot I can do so I don't really feel like speaking up on that and Taylor with the three as well whole three the signature whole out here though with little model pose just always trying to do a little GK pro modeling alright we are on the whole 3d let's say signature whole out here the basket is gonna be down here by the water you want to really throw something maybe a mid or just really something that'll get flat and carry all the way down and then you also want to have some good distance control on it as well because you'd have to be wary of going long into the water yeah don't go in the water and then these trees as well are pretty in your face off the tee yeah like as long as you make it down like this little hill right here it should slide far enough to where you're in putting range mm-hmm and that actually caught a tree and just slid all the way down deep down so that worked out and there's that Maino tree on the right side but it's pretty hard to guess it yeah if you're not making that man do what you're trying to take like a spike hyzer route or something yes something nuts that's gonna be a that doesn't be a way up from there I'm guessing oh yeah so what are your thoughts on all these top pros switching sponsors it's crazy enough I don't know I feel like it's like it's good for the sport because it's like kind of bringing in some drama oh yeah I totally just got a scene and so it's got more eyes on the disc golf world you know yeah and it gives people a chance to try out different companies because you know you stay loyal with your favorite player you end up throwing whatever he throws and then for you know you're throwing all dis Kraft Taylor found a tree there he might have to lay up from there might need to get something going cuz he used not starting off on that was oh yeah did that just say no it didn't but it was close I promise I'm really good got Taylor with a super death putt oh I didn't know was gonna run that but he's good he's got some work to do so yeah he's got a comeback there let me get the stretcher headed with this fennel part 24 those efforts house for birdie oh that's already okay it's like Mike went wrong oh man short and neck coulda gave him like a ton of confidence right there oh yeah that could turned his round way over this is definitely one of the trickiest holes out here yeah and this course is just like just north of OKC and all these players are from the OKC area except for Taylor see Justin nine one eight Tulsa yep Ellison gain some ground Lakota okay something once drove back now yeah yes things are heating up and getting exciting if Ellen Taylor can easily climb up there as well with the caliber of players they are all right hold for this is a short hole like most of the holes out here it's pretty you got a OB sidewalk on the right side and nothing too dangerous you really just want to throw in touch Heiser with a putter or a mid-range and not have it skip too much because it is a little dangerous on the left side of the basket because it kind of drops off down into this little creek so yeah this hole can turn into a for real quick if you're not careful yep it's really touchy and that's looking really good from Kelson yep just a little long he's gonna have some awkward footing there but should be able to convert the bird and that Heiser route would be a little bit more appealing at that Bush wasn't there yeah kind of forced to go straight out I mean you could highs around it but then you're bringing the skip down the little drop-off or the Oh Nobby or you can go sky-high that is such a ballsy move that's crazy I mean any stuck it yeah Teno apparently that's ideal for this whole ten out of ten on the landing if you can land it on a spike in that circle it's not gonna roll anywhere yeah I mean it's really the ideal play that was a good good little tree cake I thought that was gonna like Heiser down the hill but yes kept going desperate now he caught that limb and just kind of smacked it down towards the basket we got Mike oh yeah there's the birdie that's perfect here's Kelson after go a little bit deep and knowing that code is part he's feeling like he needs to make this why he does wow I was a great putt from That awkward foot and I had to analyze it around that tree a little bit too oh no oh no oh don't roll don't know don't roll oh it looks like he's still falling down the hill we can't see it was oh man a longer putt we stay up there though okay yeah he's not happy about that really unfortunate bogey on more probably probably Ellen look it's the easiest cuz there are some sketchy factors that the shortest sell out here for sure yeah just having the bird oh yeah get to like with the park job total with a very impressive shot yeah I was dropping in yeah I don't suggest doing a spike hyzer but I feel like good then go for it alright hole five this is a par three it's gonna be in a different position than last round before it was tucked into the right of these trees but here the left side OB is actually going to come into play because it is right next to the basket you really just want to throw something dead straight and have it land right up there yeah it's kind of a similar shot so hold on you're sad Estrella bout a reef if you get the blind or something like that oh yeah straight in here oh okay yeah Thunder through yeah you throw way up on the end of a hyzer line Artie that's peered while is money money that had it been a mid-range yeah and Taylor's also like really good at these tests trade shots as well that's looking pretty similar to cover his line you know Justina skip right up that's just fine that'll work he's right inside the circle and Taylor has played some really good golf this year yeah he really has I mean he's been on our footage what it's like his third time yeah and they're all like leak hard it wasn't like a feature card either it was all like League are like he earned his way oh no oh yeah he's a force to be reckoned with here in the Midwest that is for sure oh yeah yeah that's looking good might be a little bit short no yeah it'll be inside the circle have you noticed all these disc golfers vlogging now we've seen that trend no I dude I mean I saw about Simon's little video yeah Simon started out as ice skating around where was that maple whoo how sweet was that blog that was sweet he just I'm glad at the end he did announce that it took him a bunch of tries he almost he almost just like quit disc golf and just make trickshot video guys like that's his career yeah oh yeah in both and just out over two that's surprising and beau had a very frustrating first round as well I mean he's only card just cuz he's really good and who's bad rounds are better than a la people's good rounds but for him he did not play up to his standards no not at all just couldn't get the putter going now so I think he was really excited to come out here and try to prove a point yeah tell us what's good recovery there Cotto it just it drop in for his birdie and the lead yep he goes back to a two stroke leader three-stroke lead yeah I know that later look at that pearly thing yeah that was a pretty disc alright hole six there's gonna be a par three this is probably the easiest hole out here pretty much a short dead straight putter shot you can throw a forehand or whatever however however you want to get there everybody want to get to 250 feet that's how you gonna do you really just want to avoid going long because there is an OB line painted kind of trailing along that little metal piece that you saw behind the basket so yeah down to like the left side of the green as well so yeah this is looking good yes perfect I'm a little bit short but he's and what well in the circle you got Taylor taking the wider route and that's how that's that's the play I think I think I do I'm on is very comfortable throwing it dead straight give me a little bit of Heiser room and I'm feeling a little more comfortable that was well done by Taylor Kelson popping one up there it'll be a little left but that's just fine with the same test he just tapped in and tapped in with oh yeah that's perfect as well and all these guys should be getting this panel last week and laughs yeah no nope it helps for every beat in disc yeah it's just fine and our fathers personal weighs about 20 feet out there you go whoo he wanted to spit back out and Calvin's playing super-confident was round yeah I mean I'll just do not play confident when you started with an eighth you're right I guess that makes me confident all day long automatic at least one stroke on the field well it's like when starting hole it's like when you know you're taking them cash no matter what it's you you play a little more relaxed yeah exactly don't have as much worries just kind of chill and playing disco yeah x3 oh I couldn't tell we moved it too fast yeah it looks like it here's to move to 14 boom he's holding on to that two-stroke lead he has an obsession at hand he just likes touching the best I love it it's him he's got a basket fetish alright we were on to hole 7 this is gonna be a par 3 same position as last time pretty much just want to throw something straight down this tunnel to get all the way up there really just kind of have to be careful not turning it over too much then you also have a forehand line which you'll see Khoda here throwing kind of flex it up there through the tunnel yeah we saw a lot of routes from the first round a couple over-the-top shots this is probably the most popular shot it's like the Flex born in right the middle mm-hmm a little short but yeah that's button you know have a putt to go with that flip to flat shot I'm guessing that is looking like oh my gosh who he hits the pole doesn't get like a dollar for that no oh no I think it caged or changed you get like a dollar if you're playing that game that looks a little wide ya need to get off the tree yeah got off of it looking out but I haven't opened it yet one of those branches on the right bells gonna need to start making a move right now yep and that should work as long as it didn't go deeper into those woods yeah I think he might be pinched off a little bit by those trees but you'll have a look and that's just the early-release yeah he was going fat death straight shot but it came out a little bit early and still slit up yeah I didn't see that I got quite a bit up there once it look like it went straight to look j-money come on Kelsey it's the old saying I'm so confident with this putt that'll work great putt by Cal soon and coughs feeling the pressure here but Ellison just making that birdie putt oh just right yeah also got 5050 that - and you know it's one of those where he is so there it is that's the putt we're used to seeing right there and Taylor Sears with a absolute Robin with a dirty birdie tap-in par for Mike that's the basket okay all right we are on to a whole eight this is a part three you really just want to throw a hyzer aim towards this tree right here to the right and have it skip back towards the basket it is kind of a bomb because I know we don't have distances but it's probably roughly around 4 10 4 15 ish so especially because you got a happy the Heiser like a lot yeah yes one of the few holes that here would they get it though a full-power driver shot mm-hmm and that's great that's just what you want yeah I mean the gust of wind that we get in Oklahoma you really got to be careful with high or not high during out but flattening out into that tree that's a pretty common thing as well so you really I guess I'm over stable make sure you get down by the basket that's so good that's just fine I know first round we saw a couple hit the barn couple of the tree so they're really making the adjustment here and that looks really tasty Oh get up going go in Oh just behind that would have been such a cool lady did you imagine that yes on the elevated basket like that Annie couldn't you can't even see it from the teeth oh yeah totally blind days yeah I was very upset when I didn't see that go in the rice all I'd not go on code it's gonna be well short yes not the best shot on this hole Pina high actually here we got Mike Mike doing his little bit higher but that's a little short as well yeah I think Kota actually got yeah I don't weigh it long Wow I said a weird camera camera angle cuz looked like he was way short yeah and if your drive isn't within like 30 feet you're probably not gonna run after the boat and that was really unfortunate just to back at Kota and he could have had another one not quite but Kelson it's just on terror and he's now tied with Kota yeah so it's a great birdie he's starting to catch fire yep yeah this is one horse where you just don't want to bogey it you know cuz a bogeys can happen so easily with elevated baskets at least if you're like an am like me yeah they're tricky but all right we are on the whole nine this is a par three definitely one of the easier holes on this course it's really not asking too much nothing too crazy you just want to throw a dead straight putter shot or you can throw a slight hyzer or however you want to get there there is a little bit of a drop-off to the left side of the basket and some trees so you do want to stay a little bit more right but again nothing too crazy yeah we keep saying like all these holes are easy but this is really a awesome and fun course yeah that's gonna be a really tricky spot pretty dynamic for how short it is yeah it's kind of a it's kind like a buffalo Ron makes it like the lodge and Pawhuska but definitely shorter and he's gonna be a little short but but ya know enjoy testing that green so far Taylor owned it there we go higher it's gonna be terrifying yeah weird but especially for his style to that tree yeah he's not really like a jam like straight at it kind of putter kind of Heiser's it in there and Kota Hatfield with this but oh no no way down there I don't know how he's gonna have a puff from there with all those branches that's unfortunate we'll have to see exactly where he's at okay just slow down I think that's okay I think I might have went down a little bit but he's been like 25 and that's about all you could do from there yeah and both he's gonna want to jam this one or right in there just a pro side spit out nothing more nothing less and look at that oh and that Taylor just like drops it in from way back there yeah great putt by Taylor like he's gonna be putting through these trees how frustrating is that like I'm sure off the tee he thought he was a threat next to that yeah and he walks down there and he's and look at that pop I gotta to expand that lead to 15 down while he was a little bit more open yeah power and we got a battle for you guys Kota Taylor and Kelson all right next to each other this back nine Amy were real exciting oh yeah good save there from Mike yeah all right that's gonna conclude the front nine of the third annual
