here on commentary on gk productions coverage joined by gk pros one and only Bobby Cox what's up everyone we have a great card for you today so far boat Tillman Taylor Sears deep minis Avery Jenkins in Landon Knight all having a decent round aside from a couple of these guys looks like Steve and Beau are kind of pulling ahead of the party here I think Taylor's in the mix as well yeah yes but a whole 10 here we've got a par 4 500 foot this is an interesting hole for sure I mean I've seen a roller on it you see forehand play you also for bombers you can see a slight turn over to get all the way to the basket we'll see what these guys do yeah though the window is really tight to reach the Basques on this hole we got it though literally perfect come and play is kind of throwing a safe Heiser out there may be a 4m flex and yeah buzz right there in the middle farewell turned it over just a bit playing the series not that happy with that shot that's turned over a little bit more yep yeah let's see if Taylor can correct on that that's looking nice got a little branch at the end there to kind of dampen the flight but and that is a mando tree on the left like a ride at the tree takes away the big forehand maybe the big any rule I only know why it seemed there I mean you can't hit a mando that's right there then well I mean even if you go left of the tree I mean how are you gonna get over to the basket that way Avery thrown a great safe shot here he's gonna have an easy up-and-down for the bird a little Heiser around the tree yeah great shot Hart and this is one of those holes that it's really a pretty easy birdie but the eagle is definitely possible to do obviously no no these guys are in range for that but bought it pretty simple up shots yeah that's gonna skip right up to the basket well done if you guys are curious what beau Tillman throws check out our in the bag that we did with them did about a couple months ago and it's pretty awesome it's like we might be looking at a star frame here Napa's Taylor at seven down he's continuing his fantastic round with the great putt as well we're creeping up on the treacherous holes in a couple holes it's oh no that just bounced off the pole like that was crazy-looking I'm in the background there you can see the little crowd over there that is actually Eagle McMahons card on the treacherous hole 13 he brought out a big old crowd bigger than we've seen in our tournaments here in Oklahoma hole 11 is a short little par-3 but lots and lots and lots of trees so pretty much what most people will be doing will be throw in the hides of lying on the right side there's a little gap there you'll see I'm sure bo is going to try and hit it here yeah he's going for it yeah nope didn't up and then turn it over just a little bit but uh that's that's the right area that you want to be yeah this is on those holes where do you think you thought perfect hits a tree and sometimes you think you shank it and it makes it all the way down there so we're really just like a polka note definitely get a bowl yeah they're throwing the low line here more down the gut I snuck a leaving about sixty out though Oh Avery has turned hits over into the world he is going to have a fun up shop there shout out to all the Tulsa disc golfers that came out throughout the week before this to clean up the course a little bit picking up they did a fantastic picking up branches this whole East have a lot of branches just laying down so you couldn't really get any skip but we cleaned all that up Hooven he is got an unlucky kick there right into the woods no that doesn't look pretty yeah a breeze he's let's see how he handles this situation and this is like a tiny tiny taste of a Blackhawk is like looks like he's lined up oh wow what do you what do you what do you hold on what do you call that we don't like ake pancake yeah that's way over the top and he just executed that perfectly put it six feet from the basket yeah I often like just do that shot playing around like casual rounds but I would never do that in a sanctioned I'll have the trust more tricks you have the better you are a little bit short still smiling though yeah he's having a good time he's having a pretty good around so far Steve is a party machine he is officially on fire ladies and gentlemen eight down through 11 on Redhawks and that is a fantastic par set from Avery Jenkins yeah whatever both sponsored by universal you know it's Avery pretty well given up a stroke to Steven we just have only one birdie on that it's not it's not a easy birdie I mean it looks easy when you're on the tee box but Ronnie here treats turns into the field I guess hole 12 this one's just one of those must get holes at Red Hawk it's a 289 fie par 3 - Lana I mean you pretty much have four hands get shot or the sky hyzer line they go to the top looks like we got Steve manie's here lining up the forehand and there is OB behind the basket in case you want to do that yeah that a big highest rate I'd be careful with it and Bo is definitely going with the big hazard doesn't though too many for hands he's got plenty of power to get over there he's gonna that's looking really nice that's looking really nice it's part he has hit the bull's eye there oh you saw that off yeah that's that's in the tree oh nice little tombstone there yeah he's unhappy with that job about 80 feet out though so he's gonna have a difficult putt and I'm sorry I'm a little shocked to see everybody go with the forehand I mean I know it's sporting it's not not bad or anything but the hyzer just seems too obvious for them but what do I know you put it right there and say yeah why why throw the hyzer when you can put it why why ever listen to me tonight that looks like it is a little sawed-off that's coming up a little short that is behind the tree there he might have to straddle out to get a look at the basket see if Taylor can hit this long jump putt no not quite there today that is a great putt by Wayne tonight he actually wasn't directly behind the tree like I thought so he had a nice little putt at the basket and Avery Avery's gotta start stacking up some birdies he's fallen behind see if his man I think got robbed on that one that won't look like it should've stayed in yeah where's disco but he's gonna have to get that dialed in if he's anyone just be sitting good after this first round good birdie by Steven puts him at nine down it's absolutely killing this round right now yeah him and Belle's going back and forth all right hole thirteen one of the famous holes at Red Hawk disc golf course it's 820 feet you've got OB lining all the way down on the left side so I mean you really most big players will be taking the ante lying around to just try and bite off as much distance as they can and the safe players will be going there's a little gap underneath the tree on the right side a little bit of overhang so you have to be a little bit accurate there or you can take the big hyzer line as the ultra-safe play we'll see what these guys do I'm thinking these guys are getting aggressive I don't think that was supposed to be roll or I think hopefully on cut roll he's okay they're just a little short I'm sure he wanted a lot more distance on that though and last year when Kevin Jones played nation last year when Kevin Jones played this tournament on this hole he threw it about mono 600 feet maybe will be farther is at least absolutely inside Oh actually got a little clip of the top left at the tree there and shorted it a little bit Landon ooh and that stays in and this is that safe line I was talking about just to the right of the tree there you can either go under the branches there or you're over the tree like Taylor's lining up here yeah when you play the safe route it's almost impossible getting three on it you really plaintiff or unless you're Simon lazada Eagle McMahon yeah well I'll think equals going safe that's the thing yeah he's playing on for the two crazy he's put out a nice shot here that's great position yeah niebo goby I think so he clipped the top left of the happy like I said and I think he rolled out of bounds he has kind of a tough angle at the basket here too he's he's got a lot of work to do to say the least yeah that's a good position that's great yeah be getting a four on this whole or a five with OB stroke yeah yeah also good shot as well this holds pretty much unless you're a bomber you it's pretty much lay up lay up way up and then yeah tap in your three lotta laughs so you kind of see that with what these guys are doing with this whole being so open on that right side the win is usually howling but it's pretty early in the morning for this round so it looks pretty calm yeah it was very calm perfect conditions but there's nothing more annoying whenever you play the safe shot off the drive and then you're trying to you know get another 400 feet you know just turn it over I've totally tried the roller over the road and just did not do a good job at all it seems like we made it yeah seems are gonna be trying to play aggressive of that road just crazy things happen like although I thought my like my most overstable destroyer never flips over this whole Oh flips over yeah that's that's pretty much how it works we've got the card here pretty much everyone's laying up and well actually got some good distance on a second shot here we got Landon Louis trying to stay in the hunt oh that's a little short scares the basket but that was going from the camera's view at least you know both a little tombstone there with that soft morning ground nice but and both saves his par that is great par save Steve's not missing that one I'm really impressed with Stephen er his putter is just in flames like I knew he was a great player but this is just like insanity tailing with the birdie as well it's good to see he's creeping behind him that's for sure we have a lot a lot of good players in this open field this this year so it's gonna take a lot of hot rounds - just looking stephenie's is 10 down through 13 and that it's just a great start and here we have hole 14 the hardest hole out here I think hardest hole out here by far par-5 868 feet you pretty much want to throw a safe shot if you can get past that tree noise just like on this area 350 foot down the fairway then you can have an open look towards this side of the green because it kind of breaks right and yeah a popular shop of the righty is stone just like massive roller - yeah we've seen a lot of rollers I've seen last year at the Oklahoma 7-eleven Ellen's yeah through about probably a 500 foot roller he threw way past that at that corner yeah he was he had a good look at the basket and whenever you get down towards that tree or a little bit past it you can really attack for the three but if you're short of that like kind of where Stephens going it's gonna be a really really tough shot and that really stays in man scaring the Obi there and didn't wanna turn anything over in the water so he played a little bit safe that's looking like a great line and that's your typical line right there you just want to be right there yep that way from right there picking you throw a low forehand skip shot or a most likely a little Annie flex shot looking great as well Taylor is not known for throwing terribly far but he's so good with those angles kind of like Bobo it's not really known as for bomb and disc but they can put that back in wherever they want and that's looking like it's leaking a little bit OB I need to get down oh good surprise no rollers asking me a tricky tricky spot behind that tree yeah I feel like we're not seeing a lot of rulers just because it's the first round and yeah just a little unpredictable sometimes yeah especially with those Oh bees just to the left and the right and look a harder shot this hand I mean it's almost impossible getting to the basket from here yeah pretty much when you're right there you you just got a layup towards the green in the general area just keep it low yeah it looks like Steve caught the over/under hanging branches right there in front of them big Heiser big Heiser taking the big Heiser that's for sure playing it safe that's that's not gonna get anywhere near the basket I'll think oh no oh no off the tree oh thank God they didn't go in the water oh there's got a little bit better of a look you ideally want to be a little bit more right of the tree cuz there's a little bit of a gap to the tree that's directly in front of bow that's a pretty a shot from there though oh it was fantastic yeah he'll actually have a look of a will jump up he's good she's so close that water and hot water is usually pretty muddy so you can basically say goodbye to that desk nice safe shot from waiting there and Steve is trying to bail out that mistake that looks really hitting that tree and oh my kill it's gone deep that is a bomb he's gone behind the tree but he's got a look at the basket Wow good shot you really trusted his desk on that putting it right up there looks like yeah there it is perfect and shout out Oh get down shout out Brian Rick's for throwing it in from the creek what's on the right turn last year I was playing the Oklahoma open and and he just canned it from 360 well and it was a fantastic shot Taylor with the good comeback er I believe he went OB there into the water so that was to save his par also shout-out to Tucker wallets last year for waking everybody up on the course I'm not gonna get in the detail here but it was exactly havin the best round and you know he got everyone's attention one of the funniest moments I've ever experienced when Cain and the bird and Steve saves his par partes fine on this or is fine he's still he's still ahead of the game right now so many things to go there's a couple more holes that you can attack down to the stretch of this first round oh yeah absolutely we've got a couple more birdie holes but right now we've got hole 15 par-3 495 feet a little Church list with the creek right on the right side there's also an overhanging tree right in front of the basket too so you have to just finesse this drive not only finesse if you also have to bomb it yeah I've shown a slight turnover pretty much that doesn't say yeah just something that's something that slowly just reap that leaks right I can get up to the basket other than that you're trying I can get there little short he's just basket rates I mean that's like the normal spot to land and just past those trees kind of easy super easy pitch up for your route 3 as you turn this one over enough doesn't look like I hit the tree drops right down yep and that's gonna be kind of a scary upshot too with the water drop on the basket though just shanked that low it was not good yeah that is short as well pretty easy up and down there aside from the water being behind there like you said let's see Stephens that looks great at this hot streak going that's that's pretty much all you do as safe as you can get he's gonna have an easy up-and-down me 3 yeah he's not a guy that's gonna be throwing 495 on a low ceiling not many people can so that's pretty much exactly what he wanted squeaking through there he's gonna be over right by Steve actually he asked a shot too are you free that's right looking oh I hate the pole water the night but look hey it's a pole oh okay yeah great aim there just a little higher get up and down than tha less and that's pretty routine for him and Steve like I said he loves those highs rep shots and he is great at him yeah just keep it simple I guess taking this little runs that just hit cake I thought it did I was gonna say something but I can't really tell ooh landing just a little bit short there cars all around a star par cars all around also I think up ahead a couple cards equal McMahon I believe the sin that twelve down at this point well down yeah so we might be seeing him next card so definitely tune in next round looks like we got one more land at night tapping out curious with the hot with the hot score is on this course the course record I'm not sure the course record but I mean I'm sure we'll see some hot rounds yeah I'm whole sixteen 297 feet par three most people will be taking the forehand skip line there's also a risk/reward gap right down the middle going right over the creek yeah but like I said most people will be taking the forehand skip route which is what Landon Knight is lining up right here yes looking pretty good right there nice hi good angle on it no inside the circ great shot that looks a little bit sawed-off a little wide skipping over it spying the tree a little bit of a lengthy putt boughs can get testy here going with the middle made through it's kind of leaking left though a little long as well but I mean I think you're happy with that even you know he's outside circle as long as you got a look I'm sure these guys have different mentalities than what I do but if I'm going with the middle I'm just hoping I don't go in the water yeah I just avoid the middle at all cost I don't ever go in the middle and Steve line up a really good shot there he is inside the circle probably about 10 15 feet Taylor Sears taking the local route and he is piped it yeah it's literally perfect right down holes I and Avery's got a little bit of a tester putt with the treacherous OB right behind it yeah that Creek kind of wraps around the whole basket let's go that is not in his head at all beautiful putt hopefully he can bring that put into the next round kind of took him a little bit to get it going yeah he's got some work to do but you know I'm Blackhawk if you play clean you know you're gonna be catching up to people hey pop I bow fantastic putt 11-under par and Steve's a little bit farther than I thought I said about 10 or 15 feet but it looks like he's about 20 30 even yeah he should be making so oh and that is I mean he's making that all day yeah his putters been hot today I'm surprised he missed that one Landon I feel birdie putt at the birdie I'll play them at six down stays down this is for birdie for Taylor right yes he piped that he doubt it good putt by Taylor hole 17 is 256 foot par 3 pretty much is a must ace hole yeah pretty much because it is so short so gettable so easy I'm pretty sure intermediate to open fields are must getting this hole yeah cuz it's right there but it's good that it means it's really nice to have a hole like this after those super treacherous holes a couple holes ago and then you kind of get your mind back on track and keep you from going insane yep this is a pretty much relax and throw a hyzer hole up there come on give us an ace do it she's going with the spike hyzer spike hyzer Steve likes those big Heiser's yeah is like the hyzer he likes him I guess he's had a lot of like bad skips and rollaways in his past all right let's see if he can put it in for 11 oh and he is not happy about that one a little surprising that he missed that little 20 footer with the way he's been put in this round good birdie by Landon put him a 7 down Taylor for birdie there it is tight and tied up Steven though just gonna keep separating with you he is 12 down at Red Hawk that's all pretty that's so salty no we might be seeing him next round too so yeah we'll see we'll see what happens as well he's not missing that little shake spreader hole late teens a little weird it's a par 3 465 feet but you've got these two trees right in front of the tea pad and it's you basically just have to hit this little gap with the trees I've seen roller on it you can throw a big ol straight shot turn over pretty much whatever you want but as long as you hit this little gap right off the tee pad you're good yeah and there's not a whole lot room for a roller either it's really forced me to get there in there a little bit short but that's still a great throw yeah he's he's looking at about 50 60 feet I'd say Avery looks like he's turned his over he asked not come back either yep he's got to put at it but uh definitely turned over he's not he's not too happy with that drive let's see if beau can make a statement here that's got good action if it comes back it's got scotch it now hit the tree you got Taylor pushing that yeah get it real close that you're a spy that tree on the right and and I mean the gap is pretty big but it's so close and those trees do like get get in your head there you get in your head for yeah I've hit him multiple times yeah well you're not you know you know you're not open play pretty weak attempt honestly yeah didn't really commit to the he's got a long putt here yeah you might have been laying up honestly as well yeah great putt by Landon that's a good way to finish right there I don't must say this is kind of a bonus to when he says is definitely a bonus to 465 feet with the tree right behind the basket I mean that's that's a curry to those looking at a little 45 50 footer here tricky putt kind of Danny a tiny bit let's go he is pumped up fantastic putt what a fantastic round 13 down that's incredible 13 down ice in his veins rest of them tapping out for par great round by Steve manie's yeah he played well over his rating a little bit of a shaky putt towards the end there but he still killed it and here's our lead card for next round we got evil McMann Richard white bow Tillman and Clayton Lawson along with the world champ Greg
