hello everybody welcome back to the third round of the 2019 Duncan Lake hillclimber open my name is Gabriel down I'm here with Bobby Cox what's up everyone we've got a good round going for you here bow Tillman holding that lead at 18 under par he's got eight strokes on coda Hatfield who is at 10-under par we have our tulsa local Lauren Lewis sitting at 3-under par then we got Nick fobel at one big and then we have Sam Hazen winkle sitting at four big for big yes so yeah hopefully we can see Khoda trying to make a move on Bo here because right now I was just way ahead of the game yeah by was killing my co displaying some really good golf too so it definitely happen yeah okay first hole this is a hole 12 this is a part three 455 feet it's just a dead straight tunnel really the basket finishes right so the - really is not there on this one honestly unless you throw a perfect like fairway driver that has some late turn all right you're you're not getting all the way to the basket I mean yes you're gonna have like an 80 footer yeah it's already a long hole and then with that super tight fairway it makes it even longer so you really is trying to keep in the middle third what yeah unless these guys will just be trying to flip up a fairway driver have it right straight this is looking pretty good it's gonna be on the left side but it's way down there yeah you might have a little forehand pitch out there pull please not too pinched off that looks just like your t-bird three yeah I don't think it's a t-bird three though and that's gonna be on that right side there and that's gonna be a fun spot yeah is Bo think that silky smooth form and gets a fortunate little kick out there on the right side and still got some work to do we've got a lot of work to do actually looks a little bit high oh yeah I got shut down pretty much immediately yeah and I mean at least he's dead center fairway right can't complain about that we have Sam going righty this time he took off the sweat band get a little too hot you know getting too hot and that's actually a meeting really good spot for uh hopefully a theory I won't go with the tomahawk there's actually a really smart play considering you got those super accurate shot if you don't take that fairway it's a couple of short but he loved a pretty open look got Bo going with the turnover shot and really nice Oh and just barely Clips that branch oh no and say I'm just with an early release there yeah I'm thinking those branches might got in his head yeah trying to avoid hitting it on your follow-through yeah Kota gets a fortunate kid happy speed on him yeah here's Nick from the right side of the fairway he's gonna be pretty well short as well this hole is not treating these guys very nicely yeah this whole had to plate over par oh yeah absolutely by quite a bit in BO with kind of a weird upshot there yeah what was going on there too much highs are not enough power and yeah he's me love about 25 525 feet I'm gonna give me a pretty good run but just not quite getting it there you just Nick the save par yeah just a little bit low it'll be tapping in bogey really good putt there by Sam unfortunately it was for the bogey but that that that kind of puck and keep your confidence going though oh just a little bit left yeah super uncharacteristic missed by him oh my god what's going on this time like a so basket cuz it like people are not hitting it in the center no supper slamm him and Lauren with the bogey looks like we'll have kotas happen in a bogey and then is beau taking a double here yeah I think Bobo's taking it I was gonna move the 16 down kotas starting to close in on him a little bit double bogey man this whole eight these guys alive and none of them really had like that bad of drives like no one was like totally in the woods no hmm okay hole 13 this is a par 3 220 feet as you can see there is a tight initial gap that you have to hit but once you get out from here there is you really just want it to carry straight and once you hit that initial gap and kind of have a soft Heiser at the end you really want to avoid going right or left because as you can see there's just towering trees on the left and right side so yeah super technical hole really just guy hit this first gap I believe first round we saw two or two or three guys not make it out of there and you know a little bit trouble getting up and down and you actually aced this hole out you know what we did a playthrough well I wasn't in safe but since you brought it up I absolutely aced it yeah I do a well I only had a couple dista to play with and I had a defender I just threw it really soft on a flex line and it took a massive skip yeah right go straight into basket yeah definitely not the preferred line but it's all it really all I had was me on the left side kinda behind those trees might have said just Heiser around that tree there and pitch up for three Sam Sam barely getting past those trees and they a pretty good slide yeah he's gonna be about circles edge from there but was one of those players I was talking about that didn't make the gap and he did not make it this time this is gonna be a really tough shot yeah there's too much too much ante on that he's gonna be behind that tree and he's gonna have to probably throw an overhand over the top of that tree yeah and also salvage the par and okay the tricky part about this hole is like from the tee box you don't feel any wind at all and I notice Bo actually took his time before he drove and walked all the way down like the middle of fairway just to get a read on the wind so that's like how much these guys are thinking about every shot yeah I know personally I wouldn't do that just because probably saddle laziness right and Bo ended up right next to the basket so don't be able to salvage the bogey from there it's gonna be Kota for to getting two strokes on bow yeah on this whole it's getting interesting yeah making it real English interesting here yeah but with the pokey moving them to 15-under par and kotas now only four back from him with we've got seven or nine holes to play yeah yeah you wouldn't have thought that this was really gonna be a possibility after watching bail just shred insane second round but how does a guy that doesn't give up and he'll put pressure on you whole time oh yeah absolutely hope 14 this is a par 3 477 feet it is definitely not a part three I'm just gonna go ahead and say that it's a it's a par 4 because the 2 is completely out of question here most of these guys are going to be throwing a flex out over the initial line of trees to get to this open landing area here and then from here you have a big spike hyzer or a low skip shot underneath this low ceiling here it's I'd say it places one of the harder holes on this this side of the course yeah so looks like we got kota trying to flex one out there and it looks like he he's gonna be in a decent spot there yeah I'm the clearing so yeah it really takes a absolute crush just to get in a spot to attack for your second shot mm-hmm Nick hanging hot he's a little bit wide but that's gonna be an OK spot there it's got some pretty good distance himself kind of stalling out there it looks like yeah that's the thing with this whole a lot of a lot of discs seem to just kind of drift right on this hole it's hard to get the hard Heiser at the end of the flight and he's gonna be on that right side most of the guys that are on that right side are just forced to throw a big big highway or something yeah yeah just a super spike hyzer totally blind of the bat I mean you can't always see the best from over there either mm-hmm and Sam makes the clearing kind of turned over the disc not sure if he was trying like a sky roller or something but he's gonna be in the decent spot they're both going with that high a nice tall shot and he'll be on this left side it looks like yeah that's gonna be a kind of a weird angle to the basket yeah he might have a little skip shot but love to see Lauren that was really impressive a nasty iPod that'll leave him with about 25 30 feet from where he's at and Sam just didn't quite put enough to get past that low ceiling their entry was trying to take the back door taking that lower out ooh got it up high enough just almost skipping into hell just needed it a tad bit more left yeah I was completely pinched off here he's got to go over the top but luckily wasn't very far to the bass yeah it wasn't very far in general so Oh Lauren was way further back than I thought yes I'm died and he helped to do the upside down little slide shot like Bo did earlier and Nick Noble Nick such hope I mean he says really good for him he's just really good for him in general all this drives is Upshaw st. spots yeah he does great par from Nick there Oh back-to-back nice buzz Sam Hayes Winkle with thee really necessary or with the bar should be a birdie but yeah yeah should be affirmed definitely Hoenn headband is back on well I thought I made it go in exactly he's got Captain America powers going and Lauren missing low alot this round yeah just kink I'll get the height no no is good for par yeah they're happy with that cut as well not quite the disastrous hole that we've seen lately Lauren with a double bogey hole 15 this is a par 3 280 feet this is one of the temp holes that they added on so they could squeeze some more players into this tournament this is really just a tunnel shot dead straight you could throw a mid-range or a fairway driver as long as there's carry straight the entire way and doesn't end up too far left or right you'll have a pretty easy look at the basket psychos going thumber here and yeah I like that for in place seems like there's a little bit more room on that left side mm-hmm but I turnovers perfectly fine as well yeah and kotas thumber worked out pretty nicely there he might have to straddle out from that tree but nothing he can't handle yeah I just think oh I get the Heiser in time no he's gonna be right there next to code it might be a little bit deeper into that tree Sam is just so close being really good off these drives just a tiny adjustment yeah just tiny adjustments though trying to flip over a putter here and he's gonna be in a tricky spot there you might have some stuff in the way he also might have a window we'll have to see it's a mystery it is a mystery Lauren going high right side we can over all of it and he's gonna be about 15 20 feet there and Sam just a little bit low up it's happening for par oh just a little bit left the cookie found a little skinny gap Nick coming out and woods Nick good laughs this is Cota for the lone birdie no just a little bit left or actually Lauren yeah Lauren is the best was here yeah I also say if we didn't get any birdies there I was gonna be on the only upset yeah very surprising but I get birdie from Lauren that'll move him back to 1-under par and it's good to have these little easy holes you know mixed in with these incredibly tough holes just I can get your confidence going oh yeah makes you reassure yourself that you do enjoy disc golf it's am tapping in for the par slightly sitting it in there okay hole 16 this is a par 3 220 feet it's a very very strange line it carries straight for about 50 feet and then kind of goes right for about a hundred and then kind of comes back left and does a weird s thing towards the end of the fairway here very very weirdly designed hole in my opinion yeah it's the closest you can really get is that that last set of trees just like the way it's shaped it's impossible to you know play clean line that gets all the way down there yeah and Blaine said that he can throw a forehand flex on this hole but I am not buying that I want to see that I don't see it and co that just finding that tree kicking left he's gonna be in a tough spot Nick stupid over stable I think is crazy beef he actually fought through pretty well though yeah I know man a decent spot he'll be to at least salvage a par yeah this is looking like a good line Sam that's about the landing zone that yeah these guys will be able to get to yeah see that's what I'm talking about that's that's about max down the soleus yeah that's as good as you can do yeah Kota just having to pitch straight out maybe send himself up for this the top shot hit up right yeah little bit right and he's gonna most likely just have to pitch out to save bogey run who just needs a little bit more over stability on the end of that flight there oh and Lauren with a pretty good run a really nice run from about like eighty Kota is straddling out and just pitching up he'll be taking a four and Sam just see that a tad bit too high and found that branch by with a surprising lay up there to the wind myself then really picking up and and Sam just leaving that one low yeah it's like he's not quite getting the the spiral on it so to get the little extra carry at the end yeah it's just kind of dying down on him mm-hmm he and Lauren with an unfortunate bouquet there that I'll move him back to even knit with the quality par it looks like we got Bo same and Koda yeah I cut with a double since you have the pitch out there yeah tough hole alright hole 17 this is a part three three hundred and twenty three feet this is really just a big spike hyzer like this courses either spike I feel like I've had sits by Christ a thousand times you're going on you going over a lot of trees on the course yeah really but yeah you're just on a spike hyzer hoping to land on this left side here you want to avoid shorting it because there is a pretty good downhill about 20 feet in front of the basket and it's just not fun to go back in there lots of trees yeah he's gonna finish little bit of short left and Bo I thought she did pretty good shot yeah about 30 feet short but I mean this hole is very difficult Lauren just barely sawing that one off and he trickled down there's actually some water a little pond there at the bottom of the casual and yeah I believe so ago and he is I think in in the water there look this looks a little sawed-off from Kota as well but ends up okay actually yeah I feel like on the drive you really need to try to push it straight for as long as possible and just like let it fade at the end if you have you trying to go Heiser the whole way I mean you can do it as long as you throw hard enough but it's a lot more difficult yeah and Sam with a really good bid there oh yeah just a little bit inside a little bit of am side for Lauren as well me no one can get it in there is Nick no this basket doesn't want any part of any putt anywhere that's the role of story there we go coda yeah he didn't up in a fantastic spot yeah taking a loan bird there and he's now only five strokes back from beau yeah getting one back from last hole yeah this is one of the cool tools out here with the crazy elevation change yeah unfortunately double from Lauren and I'll move him to 2 over par say I'm just tapping it in one with Nick ok hole 18 this is a par-3 271 feet there is a right side gap which we saw Tommy take last round you really just want to flip something up straight have it ride that right side and hyzer right before that tree there and then that'll give yourself an pretty open inside the circle oh yeah there is also a flex forehand line we saw Cota take the thumber line of course oh he's going again yeah why not yeah but that forehead line it's really tricky got to put a lot of flex on to get around the that rough that kind of pokes out there mm-hmm and on the back end you just you got to keep it low yeah those trees will eat it up right away see this line before throwing a little high flex line and he's gonna be pretty deep might have some branches to contend with on his putt nice to Heiser and that's gonna be on that right side there I don't think he went too deep into that tree yeah he's only probably about 20-25 Sam putting a move on this Oh hit the base of the tree barely catching that tree here we got Lauren they're below their own appendix every shot from Lauren there so we better have one at least one clean line there yeah Sam I'm just a little bit short there yeah Sam just keeps putting himself in position to where he's forced to make like a 40 to 50 footer for his birdies and just not quite getting close enough for the easy birdies there's Koda just a little bit too high kind of surprise there to see an airball from bow oh I'm more surprised to see that yeah that was just spit out Pro side and everything not happy with the bogey there if Kota can tap in this par then he's getting another one from bow yeah one with a nice birdie Nick tapping in for par there yeah Kat was getting a stroke on bow well now has only four strokes yeah that's pretty insane yeah that considering at one point he was down eight eight or nine strokes insane hole 19 this is a par three 357 feet you're really just playing a hyzer over the right side have it crash past this tree here this is a once again that cable basket today yeah you really got to be careful when you're putting on it it actually grabs not as bad as you think it would yeah no it's not that at all yeah it sounds awful whenever you do make it yeah that's irrelevant yeah but we did find out that Duncan Lake is actually really popular for equestrian activity so there's a lot of horses in the area and the law changes just spooking my thing yeah yeah they put the cables there just to keep from spooking the horses so those were two really nice drives yeah some of the better ones we've seen on this whole Nick taking that lefty forehand this looks a little sawed off you're just not quite enough power to get there yeah on all Heiser same with the headband that means it's in business I'll hold it you see how smooth that 360 was yeah and yeah uh give him about 30 foot putt yeah might be a little bit longer than that but Joe's going with the big Heiser as well and he'd be a little bit right but he's still there for the putt yeah decent spot for his two there this is Nick most likely just pitching up around this tree yeah just not quite enough room for the Heiser yeah yeah and this is Sam for the birdie just a little bit too high it's been so close on so many putts Bo oh just dead center yeah really good birdie from Bo Loren tapping it in as well move him back to even and just a reminder these players are fighting for a chance to play on the final nine after this round so far Bell and Cody are the only guarantee noses mouths yep yeah Lauren's pretty much there as well yeah with three holes to play Nick tap it in the par it'll keep him at 2-over par yes a little abnormal seeing the score differentials on unlike a leak hard yeah you know usually it's a pretty tight race for met right for everyone but this is just two people feeling it and everyone else is playing normal disc golf right they're not playing that bad hole 20 this is a part three 465 feet this is another one of those holes where the twos really out of question unless you're one of the big guns on the Pro Tour unless these guys will just be throwing a big flood shot over these initial trees here and just trying to land in this open area to have the little higher up shot yeah we've seen a lot of drives kind of finish on that right side which is I guess the preferred size since there's no trees over there but yeah it's super difficult to get way up there mm-hmm it is Lauren they want a big old flex shot and it looks like he's gonna end up in that tall grass over on the left side might have gotten a little push out there yeah easy up from over there well I say easy first round we saw some not-so-great up shots yeah including Cotto and OB so and then though it's gonna be got some good distance on that but he'll be on that right side about 100 feet further than Lauren a really tricky shot for lefty here but they play absolutely perfectly yeah and he's gonna have a super easy up shot there maybe a long jump putt for two cutters trying to bite off as much distance as he can here try and get those strokes from beau that's pretty far and am I being jump out Ryan's just to get it up there close yeah here is Sam I'm not a similar line and he's gonna be on that right side next to Bo and Lauren yeah this is also another cable basket the last one we'll see and go no deep yeah he pulled that right and he's gonna have a long maybe about a 45 footer for his par and long come up a little bit short makeable putt though but I actually had a crush drive puts it right next to the basket on his up shop I'll be tapping in for three here is Cota sit down and that's fine yeah there is I'll be back though though right okay and it got pretty far out there as well I didn't really realize that after this Drive of the bunch there's a bomb left with a super easy for hand up it'll just be dropping in a par from there there's Sam on a knee straddling out I was perfectly on line two enough juice on it really good line there's Lauren played that well played that drive on the safe right side and just pitched it on up yep and Kota holding that 10-under par got Bo tapping in for three as well looks like we have three pars and one bogey yup for four parts four part as we have fog on bail hole 21 this is a par three 335 feet there is a little left side forehand gap which is a lot skinnier than the big Heiser backdoor route which most of these guys will be takin really as long as you can get behind the trees on the right here on that hyzer line you're gonna have a nice little uphill look the forehand line is a little bit trickier because you have to hit this little probably 40 foot window into the basket and you want it to not have too much ground play because all around the basket it's just kind of drops off and there's a lot of trees and Hills where you can take some bad rollaways and be in some nasty spots yeah it takes a little bit of luck to get to actually stick on that green mm-hmm yeah that's that's pretty common for the for the wide Heiser's kind of getting left at the bottom of those trees yeah and Nick taking that left line oh my god barely topping it in front of that basket that was so close that'd be a sick ace here's Cota taking that backdoor route oh my god - Billa flashing it sores it right over the basket that's insane he's gonna be in a tough spot though here's Sam telling it to get left and yeah he's gonna find the tree I mean look at this week's facing me just a line of trees right in front just for us to throw a little Heiser upshot lefty yeah lefty Tony like it keeps slipping by us but that is that's so much more impressive they can do that yeah it's pretty rare Nick giving a good run yeah I was a really good run but the spinning cage there is Lauren for to really play that tailwind nicely yeah getting it nice and high they can drop koto just a little bit a little bit short left yeah I use in a tricky spot here's Bo for birdie and he stroke on the card yes oh there I'll move him to 16 under par he is really good at discs off just so you know he's very good at disc golf yeah whoa I didn't see that there had to have been some like when that got in his head and he was trying to judge it from that and just didn't do what he wanted I guess I'm release or something or Schanke and it happens too you have a guy that rapport that examining that that cage whole 22 this is a part three two hundred and sixty feet you have an initial gap here with trees to the left of the right but as long as you clear that you'll have a decent look but there is also this tree here - such an annoying tree you can play it in front of it or you can play it behind it and also once again the basket is where this pink flag is so I mean the common common mistake we see here is sawing it off yeah and also not throwing it hard enough because a lot of these players are scared to go OB into the water so shorting the drive is a very common thing yeah both shorted it just enough to get right in front of that tree right in front of the basket it's gonna go up about 3035 yeah and this is looking a little sawed off but he's gonna be on that left side he'll be left with a pretty long putt make forced to throw the forehand but don't a really good 14 all day yeah yeah it's the best one so far scoots out of that tree and he'll have a long putt for his two as well and Sam that thing is stable whatever you through and once again he's right the middle this tree and that's gonna be a tough spot see if coda can put one close put a little pressure on Bo haha it's tricking trickling right to the center of the brush there that's gonna be tricky Sam with a good bid you got Lauren from the left side - Lauren from deep he threw that thing into the clown and he'll be tapping in for three and there's Cota just pitching out yep he wind up that that shot for quite a while and he was just like I can't put a get right on this and Bo just laying up there I mean he's got six or seven strokes on about her Cota so not a bad play and they're coming up a little bit short and the rest are just gonna be tapping in for their pars yep Sam's pumped about it maybe just pumped out he's done a bow tap in the par along with Lauren yeah and I'm pumped for this phone I can see the a gallery form and you got some intensity going all the duncan regulars coming out coming out from their RVs and tents to observe yeah all right that is going to conclude the third round of the 2019 Duncan lake hillclimber hope in going into the final nine we have four players bo Tillman at 16-under par code a half field seven back at 9-under par we got Clayton Lawson at 14 back from bo at 200 par then we have Lauren who is just gonna be fighting for that third-place finish most like yeah payment claim and we're battling it out yeah so yeah it should be a really really fun thing to
