hello everybody welcome to the final round of the 2019 Mohawk Park open sponsored by Heiser bomb my name is Gabriel down I'm here with Bobby Cox how's it going everyone we've got an awesome card for you today it's a five man card Matt bell just killing the tournament he is sitting at 2,400 par code a Hatfield on the three strokes behind at 21 Billy's sitting at 18 under it as well as Sakurai at the Johnson and Richard why so yeah we have some really salty players yeah don't answer that one more salty is good in Oklahoma for everybody that doesn't know yeah all right getting straight into it we are hole one par-3 284 feet you saw it second or a first round you really just want to throw a straight mid-range shot or putter shot and have a little bit of late turn and you should be fine yeah there's like a like one or two trees right in the middle of fairway if you can just get high zerud highs right in front of it or slowly turn to the right in front of it you're pretty much will be money and they should all be making this initial gap obviously and that's looking perfect yeah that's starting off the final round early putting that early pressure on everybody because he's got a drop in birdie there yeah he's been putting really well all weekend too don't see that slowing down anytime soon you're just Kota Hatfield that means a little bit of a little bit of turn turn oh well tap off the tree you got a great kick that yeah that put him about seven feet out yeah the land hammer Billy lund he'll and him making the return to GK Pro yeah it's really good to film him yeah he's positive vibes at all times yeah he's got the the handlebar mustache going on yeah he said was gonna shave it but then he was like well there's a chance I'll be on video so let's keep it all here exactly exactly and I'll work I mean it's not ideal but it's circles edge he was making the whole Kogan references although was he yeah that's great here we got a saccharide johnson and he's been he's been kind of making this mistake all weekend just don't as for as a little too low some of them are they end up working out with the massive skip but that one got caught up a little bit me up and Richard why GK pros star harp player coming off a great 2018 he's definitely we've filmed him more than anybody else yeah he's up there yeah maybe between him and bow to him though yeah yeah he cut his fight third yeah that's gonna work as well oh yeah really Zacks only one that's outside range but he had a similar putt first round and he was like an inch away from caning it yeah you just Billy see if he can start the round off right yeah so this layouts gonna be a mix of Black Hawk and Red Hawk Blackhawks more wooded course right here then opens back up in the on the home stretch so yep really fun layout don't get the place right off super long yeah it's it's a part eighty nine yeah you don't see that and disco very often yeah there's a couple back-to-back par-5 yeah a lot of disc golf but fun yeah guys that tapping in for his par and I'm not sure if I mentioned this but we're actually gonna be releasing this round in three parts will have a front eight a middle eight and then a final nine yep so be looking out for those and Billy taking a par not complaining about that but not what he wanted and this round is supposed to be even windier than the first two rounds right oh yeah this round was I mean luckily it starts out in the woods so you're kind of out of the wind but once it opens up to Red Hawk that wind is going yeah all right we are on to hole to par 33 and two feet it's a super easy hole it's a hyzer you saw it first round and you can throw a low Heiser or a high Heiser and it'll it'll get there yeah I like to push that that far tree on the right gets close to there as possible to have it highs the right in front of there you know it's easy to kind of come up short but see how these guys play it yep and as you can see we'll go ahead and mention it again we the drones are prohibited out here because it's so close to the airport and we had to hold the trone and walk the holes making it work though it's not perfect but you know there's a little bit 11 and that is pretty much how you draw it up yeah that's coming off the gates hot Kota playing that skipper out you know and this is all you want I you really kinda like you'll have to play the skipper out but it's it's much preferred yeah just hanging out wide and especially in the wintertime too you get that huge skip but when the basket is kind of like on a hill - yeah though if you land on that hill it's gonna skip way for him and Richard it through a decent-looking shot just happened to catch that tree on the right side and he will be left with about a 50 footer any feelings going with the straighter approach yeah it's a little bit sawed off and he'll have a long putt 4550 from there as well yeah and then it's kind of win you want everything within like 20 this putts are not fun yeah I hate putting in the wind everybody does that's Universal yeah I'll take tailwind overhead when any day of the week though yeah Alma greens though that tournament made me not want to play disc golf ever again yeah you guys you guys might have seen the video of that of the guy that was boiling yeah he was he was like two feet away and he was like trying to lay up wasn't he yeah put him laid of it yeah it changed perfectly like how he wanted it but the wind blew it out and rolled it 50 feet away yeah this calls not fun when birds like that yeah it's just miserable a nice birdie from Zach they're you know getting on the board Billie almost can just put out a really good run that's a good sign yeah and these cook these players are having so much fun together did you notice that just so much chatter between them yeah cuddle after a lot of encouragement yes a lot a lot of this card is fully easygoing guys yeah for sure and just a drop in from coda trying to keep up with Matt Bell yeah he's only three strokes back we got a close race looks like Billy was running to his car to get something maybe a red bull or something yeah alright we are on the hole three this is a par four 455 feet once again soft par four there is a forehand line there's a turnover line it's really what you have in your arsenal yeah it's you really want to be careful about going right because it gets thick in there and then obviously you want to stay out of that left side rough as well yeah but uh as long as you stay in the fairway you'll have easy birdie yeah it plays really long because it's low ceiling bass basically the whole way say guys just throw a missile yeah to get all the way down in the basket yeah but uh I'm definitely doable for these guys yeah really easy part for it we might get to see a couple equals here and that's put a move on this one don't little Fleck shots looking really good see and like that's where great shots land and then like the perfect ones you gotta get him to turn at the very end which mm-hmm why it's so hard to eagle it yeah wasn't quite getting the flip on it either Lola as well you should still be able to salvage a birdie from there though yeah yeah and that like will line trees and anything near the green can make it hard to even save your par sometimes and sac looks like he threw the exact same shot as the first round yeah it kind of flipped up a little bit too much on them and then caught one of those trees but look at this thing move and this is looking really good for Richard great shot just a little bit short but you will have a really easy birdie and equal attempt yeah if he can get up like towards that turn you have a puff for it see if Billy can drop the hammer here he drops the jacket now he did drop the jacket wait what he had a jacket on okay I was like agreeing I was like okay and look at that he's gonna be the closest one on the group yeah that's he's about 30 2530 yeah for those I don't know the only wand is known for his distance he can absolutely crush a disc just ridiculous I mean if you look at him it shows yeah the dudes not and it looks effortless like he doesn't even like hardly pull it back all the way and it just gets so much torque on it yeah it's crazy but I think he I'd really uses his legs yeah he's really good at shifting his weight yeah he's good at syncing everything up just and Richard kind of held on to that little bit too long missed a little wide right you're Matt for Eagle just a little bit that's usually a pretty easy putt for Matt yeah right in that range and their day oh yeah Billy with a great equal there handlebar mustache showing it off and I believe you threw a sidewinder they're just a little hida folk line and yeah that's a great - especially since he missed that hole - it's good to get one here that's a great eagle brother don't ever do that again I was doing it in honor of this handlebar mustache you might hear a couple more of those stacked for birdie nice it's really awesome having sac in town for this tournament yeah it was the first time I got to watch him play in person and he and uh yeah really fun to watch yeah that's a good bird from where Kota was at after that early tree yeah you're mindsets got to be different going into a tournament that's you know got 25 whole round yeah you just have to kind of Zen out and just gotta like keep going into parts like yeah I need to shoot this wall in this little section and then you know yeah oh yeah all right we were on the hole for par four it is another soft par-4 there's an initial gap that you want to hit off the tee box and most common play you'll see is a flip up forehand and you really just want it to ride straight for a little bit and then hyzer back and it usually has a gets a nice little skip up to the basket because the ground is pretty hard there yeah as long as you don't hit one of these super early trees you got very good chance of hurting it you know and then Billy's gonna be taking the turnover line here with that same Sidewinder he's a little bit too much turn oh well it's up there head scooted up there and he's gonna have a long putt you have a 42 ish here's Matt trying to turn something over looks like it's just stapling out on him too soon and he's gonna have a long putt I might have a little bit of obstruction there too Koda tried to turn over line as well but just turned it over too much and threw it too low I mean that the turn of line you got half the angle just absolutely perfect yeah because that gap is so tight it's such an awkward angle to even think about a turn over line that was crushed right there yeah that was really good from Zach yeah oh this is this holes made for Zach it really is just a low line drive that just has a little bit of finish at the end yeah made for Richard - yeah and his ridiculous forehand yeah if your forehand shot doesn't get to fly it it's rarely gonna get all way to the basket but if it gets to fly for just like a couple seconds it's it makes a world of difference here's Kota hats not just that stuff shots can fading away from ya you should be able to make that putt though yeah here's Matt it was like you might have some overhanging branches there oh good run she's just short here just Billy for the eagle oh and I was going back to back just a little wide and every time Richardson step out range and yeah the dangerous thing I thought that was gonna go in I couldn't remember if it win or not but right there as soon as I saw the step I was like it's a good possibility yeah yeah or some guys like just it feels more possible than like a 20-footer yeah and Zach just leaving a little bit left nice birdie saved their little squeaker birdie from Kota but a maid putt is a maid putt indeed absolutely as fax a disappointing birdie from Billy's disappointing birdie from all three of these guys are about to go Richard Zack yeah two on this one is a stroke on a lot of the field I'd say yeah I've seen on social media Richards been expressing his frustration towards the spudding and I'm just like you're partying right now is like so much better than mine yeah and that you're in a slump like that's better don't pretty that'll put up three thousand rated rounds yeah it's like don't you say a word I'm over here you know chanting out of 15 footers just not not good all right we are on the hole five this is a par four three par fours and this one's not quite the soft par 4 like the other two yeah this one's pretty brutal yeah you really just want to throw a hyzer out straight and you don't want it to highs are too soon because you'll end up in these bushes here or in this bunch of trees but I mean you can throw it low and get a skip that's really the ideal play you're playing the skip shoppers right up right here is where you want to land and then you'll have a pretty easy up shot from there yeah so not the most difficult par-4 but uh still some challenges yeah for my experiences like if my drive gets flat at all and ride straight it's not gonna be a good shot yeah but as long as you're not hugging the corner too much like you said and it's just hiding it should be a good shot yeah as long as you don't get unlucky hit one of those trees which happens a lot oh yeah really a that's too much that's what happens very often hits that that bunch of trees right there still have it a decently open up shop from there though that's playing this little wide he's playing that backdoor route it looks like and that's fine looks like he's behind that tree though right yeah my being a tough spot we'll see just coat up putting one high and needs to drop oh there you go yeah that's fine yeah and he's gonna be behind those trees and that's not not a fun spot no he's gonna be forced to uh probably throw a flex forehand from that but he's great at those it's all in the first round to have an amazing yeah I can promise em what position yeah it was crazy like a turnover the whole way the perfect angle on it - right right into the basket you know this is flipping up on Billy and that's frustrating yeah he'll have a longer putt with some obstruction and you might have to take a knee yeah if you have an open look for your up shot you really need you really need to execute it man that was just a shank job from that he just pulled that one and he's gonna have an interesting lie there that particular rough on this fairway has the most vines and little branches to avoid I've been many times kotas getting rewarded here with the great upshot great Drive oh yeah really just playing the hole how you're supposed to yeah went a little long recycling that with that turnover forehand looking very similar to the first round oh my gosh even better a serious two feet from the pan that shot is so hard I just trying to get out of here and does a good job yeah I'll word Richard why this is for his birdie yeah it's the same thing is miss well right yeah a couple times yeah you know see Richard miss like that to you often oh that would have been a great save yeah he wanted that one man it couldn't just balance on the cage and fall in real quick nope nope it's kota for the bird great putt by Koda you got such a direct putt right and I've been kind of changing my putt and trying to like model myself after that style of putt yeah and yeah you were kind of like a lofty putter yeah kind of played the drop and now you're kind of just going right at it yeah you know that's helping a lot good par saved from that long as he's not taking any bogeys but Koda is creeping up behind him he's only two strokes back now what a scary person has Jason you yeah during the 25 hole way out right one that's been playing these courses for years yes he just has everything dialed in yeah he's not from Tulsa but he's he's played so much golf you know yeah exactly all right we are on to hole six this is a part three 268 feet there is two gaps here lots of trees the left side gap has more trees towards the end of the line and then the right side gap there's more trees kind of in the beginning of it so it just depends on what you're comfortable with I personally prefer the forehand but if you're a backhand thrower then there's that line for you as well yep I definitely take the forehand and every time yeah I'll just kind of play that skipper out hope you avoid that big tree on the left mm-hmm yeah the backhand once you get past these trees then you're pretty much good as you can see Khoda throwing a great shot that'll work I expect nothing different from this yep yeah uh whoo that is the scariest thing with the forehand is hitting that tree that particular drink like you can never tell if you're gonna hit it either it's either a perfect shot or it's just dead center on a tree yeah it's kind of similar a whole 17 up black yeah there's that one tree right guys I got hit it's gonna hit it if it does you're screwed if you if you don't then you're under the basket exactly Bailey you're not happy with that kiddin make that initial gap and I'm just gonna find himself short left looks like Matt's lining up the backhand line as well no and he did the exact same thing Billy did aim spot on the tree everything yeah they might be right on top of each other that looks you my turn so not um but see the ones that look money it has hatchery yep it's a great up from Matt yeah this is one of the holes that you absolutely want to birdie yeah we good up as well they both should be able to tap in their pars here's Richard always wearing the bright colors yeah him and Kyle will because I'm kind of like known for that seems like yeah and seems like Richard just has a quite dialed in his putts this round yet nice about there by Koda yep gain stroke on Matt bail from that another stroke yeah he was only one back now he started off what three back yeah yeah good night that kind of was hanging out little bit right but yeah came back stuck in there I mean the weather was so nice that that yeah short sleeves for days I mean if you're playing golf in the beginning of February and you see players wearing shorts it's a good sign it's a good sign oh yeah I'm like today hey what're we basically just you know played Shawnee trails on ice walked on ice if we had ice skates we would have played that course much easier right all right we were on the whole seven part three 248 feet very easy hole if you can hit this gap which is not easy which does not see you can really throw whatever you're comfortable with getting through this gap because as long as you get through the gap and carry straight you're gonna have a look at the basket but you'll see a flex for a flip-up forehand and in dead-straight putter mid-range shots yeah on the forehand it's really important that it goes straight most of the flight because if it starts to Heiser you're gonna be about 40 feet out yeah and there are some bushes to the lab yeah that you can catch so the backhands why I prefer mmm-hmm that it was a fantastic shot from Kota we had that a little bit higher that was a strong yeah Zecharia throwing with that forehand and I guess caught up by the tree yeah and he's gonna be that's a really common spot to be which is not fun get flat yeah that's fine belts gonna Heiser out but oh yeah must be something pretty old straddle around that tree for those that up I don't know Matt Bell was throwing an Aldi GA bag now first tournament a super cool yeah and that's a good good Drive from that richard beautiful huh great job as well looked like it kind of got a little bit of wind balance at the end of the fight there yeah was that driver a mid-range II think uh it looked like a driver I thought yeah it's kind of surprised with that but maybe there was a crazy headwind up there I mean I forget super on a forehand line on this whole yeah she just easier for me at least yeah and those branches kind of get in the way of Zach's putt yeah yeah great putt Matt putting with those steady EDS oh yeah you just Richard from about 25 yeah he needs this bad stay in it oh no just a little bit hi this is so uncharacteristic from them mmm-hmm yeah it's surprising to see Billy backed against this tree here look like a bear oh there goes oh yeah Billy almost went like straight through the chance you see that yeah Debbie cash with it careful with those Heiser putts you know birdie from Billy though if you're playing with the Sam Michaels before he was at the Tulsa aim jam whenever we played it waste market saw his putt I mean he makes like almost all of them seems like oh I've seen his putt though yeah this place super Heiser yeah and every time just like that's gonna go right through yeah kind of similar to Taylor series yeah exactly yeah okay hole 8 this is a par 3 339 feet as you can see there is a pond here playing OB most people will be throwing the big Heiser over the pond if you have the arm you will also see a forehand route through these trees on the left side but that's a little bit more of a safer place it's really hard to get close enough to the basket for a decent bird look but yeah really the only danger here is the pond yeah and that that highs are a little a so much farther than what it says I'm a hip I put I mean you got though it really is hard you can because you got throw it so high there's usually a headwind on this hole and I play it super wide exactly make it yeah there we go that's perfect yeah and as you can see that branch that sticks out over the pond just gets in your head I find myself catching that thing and dropping straight into the ponds countless times for me yeah and Hayley oh you guys done that but it's coming back none ah and he's gonna have to play from the drop zone which is the white Hawk pad the shorter course out here up here to the left about eighty feet this is looking really good from Matt and just oh that was a good tree I wasn't good tree yeah the very good tree cuz he was about to be like 40 50 left yeah this is looking really good from Zack as well see if he can spike it in there oh yeah and that's sort of the reward you get for going up really high is spiking in there and not having a skip mm-hmm here's Richard surprisingly going for the safer play and skip sit up there and that is might be one of the better four hands on this hole that I've seen yeah it was really nice because he put it about circles edge there yeah and there's tons of trees that could get into what mm-hmm and Billy was looking for a little bit more flip up on that yeah he's not too happy with that now it's happening for a five I believe yeah here's knife a birdie though yeah oh yeah that's him i thirty down dirty under par i think he thought that putt was a little too high here's kota to keep up with matt and keep this streak going oh yeah real this dude is a maniac he is eight down through eight jota is on fire right now so stupid yeah I'm a little scared for Matt right now yeah that's all saying earlier it's like you don't want that man behind you yeah he's ruthless yeah a little sneaky tap-in there by Richard yeah we should have should have made that the thumbnail now though it's a little too creepy yeah double bogey it's really unfortunate to see from Billy but uh there's a lot of strokes out here and especially for him the big holes so uh should be fun to watch but uh that's gonna conclude the front eight of the final round of the 2019 Mohawk open Matt Bell shootin 30 under par Kota is one back at twenty nine shooting eight for eight Billy is borning down 20 under par and then we have Zach Johnson at 24 and Richard white at 21 so be sure to tune in for the middle eight of this round will be coming out shortly we appreciate you guys for
