2019 Mohawk Open | RD1, B9, MPO | Tillman, Johnson, Coleman, Lackey

hello hello everybody we are back with the back nine of the front or a first round of the 2019 Mohawk Park open we've got Bo Tillman sitting that five down Zack Johnson and Andrew Lackey sitting at four and Emmett Coleman sitting at two down had some good golf on the front nine I know Bo Tillman had a couple unfortunate putts but still putting up a decent round so far yeah everyone's playing for a fairly clean and they're making some putts um we're gonna see them move here yep all right we are on to a hole 10 power 3 339 feet it's really just a big Heiser over the water if you're comfortable throwing that there is a branch right in the line it's cutting in your head sometimes yeah it definitely forces you to play it way more wide than then you should yeah but definitely definitely gettable for these guys yeah yeah one of the mistakes here is not getting a high enough you really got caught up into the clouds yeah I mean if you get it high enough it's at least gonna end up safe yeah because you really don't want to end up in that pond and if you do go in the pond there's the drop zone which is basically the white Hawk tee just a little bit up in front of this you put a good tree there yeah great tree that's going into the woods and that should be a makeable putt in these next three holes we usually like the windy holes out here so mmm-hmm also gotta be careful with that yeah when the wind wasn't too bad now there's get it really wasn't yeah I left you very shocked not at all usually you don't feel anything in this woods and you hop out on this hole and you're like what this headland come from exactly oh yeah all right making this hole great shot yeah it's all look easy does that just put his a little bit too wide and bow kind of continuing the putting struggles there yeah in this greens kind of tricky too if you air ball a lot of times they'll go about 20 feet pass yeah there's a little bit of a hill behind the green it doesn't look very prominent right now but you can definitely catch a roll oh yeah a birdie from Andrew really good birdie for a manager and he's now tied with Bo good start to this back nine those not happy at all about that yeah I mean he was right there yeah I mean what would he be in right now maybe at eight down yeah all right we were on the whole 11 par 30 396 feet so it's a little bit longer you have to pollens there is one to the right and then a little pond to the left you want to try and hug this right side or stay right and have it kind of Heiser and skip into this landing zone and it's kind of difficult to get into the green but it's doable I mean we saw Eagle throw a mid-range straight at it and put it an inch out yeah and yeah if you want to see that that's on YouTube we filmed the double-o okhla open now here and that was pretty incredible but yeah and there's some water right behind the basket too yeah yeah there's the Creek doesn't always have water in it but because of the wetness sees the last couple weeks it's it was probably the fullest I've ever seen it yes it was like a full-on river yeah and Andrew put it actually past the basket just on the right side which is a pump got some sneaky power out of him mm-hmm this is kinda in the danger zone needs to get past that pond yeah that's fine that's that's the common air landing area right right there about a 40 foot putt oh yeah it's just so hard to commit to that putt you know mm-hmm that water right behind ya I'd I usually lay up if I end up that short it sucks good yeah because I hardly ever get to pin-high but I'm always like 40 to 50 short and I'm just facing the scary spot yeah exactly and never make it though that's looking a little too low and definitely miss release yeah and he's gonna have to just lay up and take his three and it's well-known in Tulsa that bows one of the best players out here at blackhawk just like the style he plays is so safe but also aggressive mm-hmm you know yeah he's every tournament out at Mohawk that he's playing easy top three top three guaranteed an dangerous and quite commit to that putt yeah he has a lot safer of a putt than these other guys yeah that's like you sure you clean that if you in a pin high on left-to-right it is way more comfortable oh yeah but it's also harder to do so yeah exactly gotta reward yourself looks like we're gonna have a bunch of guys just tapping out for par oh oh Andrew I think you just kind of rushed that one yeah we've all been there you know just bad timing especially getting that stroke from beau last all right he's gonna have to tap in for four after a great Drive yes it's not easy getting pin high especially those trees on the left hand right side yeah there is that kind of backdoor route yeah I mean it doesn't get you close usually don't play for it but yeah I guess think through that exactly all right we are on to hole 12 this is a par four 450 feet there's really only two lines to get all the way there one of them we saw Greg bars be throwing our coverage of double-o we threw a flex forehand and hit that middle gap that you saw not recommend this I can ago not recommend it because that's that's only for the big boys yeah and then I heard a rumor that Kevin Jones got there with a big Heiser which is insane not shocking yeah but most of these guys will be throwing a safe Heiser just over the water I really want to make sure you clear the water and then having a pretty easy up shot that's what they're tapping already yeah off the tee they're just saying do not get what yeah and that's a good shot from Emmett yeah that's about the normal landing area on that left side and Zack is actually going with that forehand he's taking the risk and that needs to stable up real quick oh oh oh hot that tree avoids the water somehow that branch I think kept it from cut rolling even more yeah down and boot into the water it's gonna be in tricky spot but it's much better than being in the water obviously that was planets safe get on him he's throwing a similar line to Emmett skips a little bit further and he'll have a little bit clearer of an upshot as well you know he has on to get there as in over the water hey and that'll deal I am like super impressed with Andrew right now oh yeah he's he's doing really well yeah he's very new to this open scene and on camera a lot of things can go wrong but he's keep himself together keeping up with Bo and he's lining up both lefty lefty or hand yeah he says he breaks it out couple he doesn't show we throwing it he doesn't brag about it but he has it in the Arsenal yeah does he throw a lefty backhand as well I don't know I I really don't know he just told me he does it probably once around uh-huh well that's impressive yeah shout out John Bell tea doughnut 450 left and right handed and right what happens when you break your arm with we learn it'll effort yeah John Bell Thea's shoutout to John Bell tea I hope we filled him soon and honestly needs to stop playing masters and play with the big boys cuz I didn't keep up yeah you definitely kid this partings on he I mean he's there I was a great putt from Emmett and though Tapan in the birdie yeah this place is a pretty soft par-3 or par-4 yeah it definitely does good for the bird yeah and Zack as well got close battle all right we were on the hole 13 par 3 270 feet really a double for hand you can throw a mature Nover shot there is some trees guarding the basket so you want to avoid those try and hug that left side more so I personally prefer the forehand have it flip up flat and skip up to the basket I might say that's the most common play on this hole yeah degree with that really just like something does strike and even just only give you about 25 foot or two so as long as you don't throw it back into Heiser's any you should be up there agree that's looking really nice ooh just got shut down but he's right there about 3035 this is both specialty right here yes it is literally that shot he does it so well yeah it's a great shot to have in your bag one of the prettiest flights in disc golf I was just that Annie Annie - Annie flex shot yep she's so pretty to watch there's Andrew left it a little bit short he's gonna have a long putt for his birdie see if Emma can hit his from about 45 50 feet oh so close there's oh yeah thanks great putt from Zach yeah he is super solid from like outside circle yeah like if he's not making he's hitting something and that's kind of temporary temporarily tie him with bow whew good Popeye intro great putt by Andrew seems like he's keeping them super low but that one fortunately snuck in there yep we'll tap in you will go to 7-under Tapani MS Park all right we are onto a hole 14 this is a par 4 this water was not there the day of the tournament thank God right but yeah this one's a 589 feet it kind of s lines all the way to the basket and it's pretty tight very touchy if you want to have a chance at the eagle you really want to throw something you can throw a forehand as a safe play and have a pretty easy up shot but you also can throw a big turnover shot and have it get all the way there which I've seen so it's not easy yeah I definitely just go for that landing zone oh that's I know he likes to throw him low else a little bit too well yeah he's gonna have some work to do but yeah I just like that the getting that laning zone kind of by come on while it's t just some decimate not very far yeah that way I just have a big Heiser to the to the basket and but was trying to throw a safer shot yeah just trying to land rod where I was talking about but yeah put a little too much on it yeah I don't think he got the turnovers I didn't want it either well Andrew got it for him yep yeah and this is the hole where under the woods you your your most likely is pitching straight back out yeah it's so thick it's hard to as you can see it was just a bunch of like little vines and twigs and branches no these guys really a great spot not at all oh there's that little horn again he's breaking it out oh don't cut roll you know that's going and there's some standing water which is on that left side and it's disgusting yeah it's disgusting yeah it's not supposed to be there that looks gray from from Zach there oh yeah yeah about 20 out guys about circles edge I mean it was a little closer looking on camera than it was so it's just gonna throw a little higher up got caught up yeah heels saying if that didn't hit that it was going all the way to the basket so I'm gonna take its word for it throwing a nice forehand roller and that'll work yeah it's finished little bit left but 400 or really is trying to get within like a hundred Wow look at this shot from Andrew when was he even that he was on that left side after that kind I know that's just I don't know how he got through all that good bid from though there that was Andrew yeah that was a 1300 rated up shot there yeah Oh amazing is coming along ladies and gentlemen that is a great putt from about circles edge after just a not great Drive yeah we've had some salty pus this round yeah great for safe from Emmett hugging that right side great birdie from Zach stuck it in there this is gonna be bow to save his for not too worried about this putt yeah and his mind he bogeyed the hole yeah definitely not too heavy ain't Andrew after an incredible second shot yeah noses third shot so this is the safe for because he had that cut role I really get par save nonetheless yeah good luck all right we were on the whole 15 this is a par 3 there is a tree like right off the tee that gets into your head but as long as you get past that you can I mean common plays a forehand it carries to the right so I mean the turnover line is there but there is a lot of branches in the way so if you throw it too high it can get caught up so yeah if you have a forehand you're throwing a 4 right on this hole you really no need to go back and this is looking really good yeah that's all you got to do just throw and play the skip shot SWAT yeah I think you should do if you throw it as hard as Zach does you can just basically throw it on the Heiser Street to the ground straight right it'll skip a mile yeah my problem is if my forehand on this hole gets flat at all it just smashes into those trees and yeah not good Andrew that that just straightened up on him and yeah yeah like I said it's got to fly away but it's a long putt no emits now is a little bit of a Mitch release miss for hands not coming alive this round off there do a cover shot about circles edge yeah he had about three trees in the way yeah trying to maneuver through those and should be able to Han Emmet saving par well done so with an easy two oh this is where he was giving me crap wasn't it oh yeah it's like pseudo Bobby he thinks I said he's not good at throwing four hands but that is not true I just said he prefers the backhands because he's really good at them aboutdeath Lance beforehand when he wants to pull it out absolutely you do to save par oh man ain't just thought about that one too much yeah there it is yeah he's got all the talent in the world he's a couple of mistakes here and there that needs to clean up yeah I mean she's dialed in he's there right in there yep all right we are on the hole 16 this is a par-5 639 feet the only par-5 on here and is really soft for a par-5 especially for the open field definitely an eagle a bull hole for these guys it carries straight you really want to throw maybe a straight fairway driver or a distance driver and get past the initial line of trees but if you can do that you have a pretty easy up shot basket and the the three is definitely there yeah if you go in the woods a couple times it can I mean you can take sevens and eights but yeah as long as you're playing it fairly say if you definitely take the three yeah that's looking really good from Zach you might have a look from there yeah just a little bit short of clearing that line of trees but though just completely saw this off yeah that's that's most likely a pitch out mm-hmm that's the line yeah that's looking really good yeah this whole just kind of like I don't know I feel like it's super easy to end up left on this hole it is it's like though like a way to you got though it's so straight without a fitting left hardly at all and when you're pulling on a high speed driver s very difficult to do yeah gotta gotta have good disc selection for sure and that is not what you want on this hole he's gonna have about 600 feet left lefty forehand roller it's kind of everything whoa I don't even know he did that I didn't either until just now yeah he's getting Blackhawks right now yeah he's yep Oh going with day for hand roller it looks like I'll see that oh and he just barely nicked that tree yeah who knows what that would have ended up it then assuming a lot better than there yeah and he's gonna have to just throw it up and tap-in for four oh this is looking nice though wrap around it Wow great shot by Zach really good shot well this is enroller faster than that yeah look at this oh my gosh that to Andros this the exact same line this next section Zach seam Wow making minis that I think that's like it definitely yeah yeah it is it looking good from ortho just didn't quite get it up yeah I think you hit the ground flat and just slid instead of skipping I really needed that to skip up but try not to break his ankle on that jump putt and he will be tapping in for five I believe yeah you knew that immediately a little bit right yeah this is definitely the hole on Blackhawk where you can take the biggest numbers early as five taking the biggest numbers unfortunately missed up by Zach here zip it for Eagle boom great Eagle from Emmett who settles possible and it has been done so with a good birdie yeah and that's the thing like dope kind of had a nice throw on the second shot and still burning the hole which is why I think it's should be a power forward yeah definitely part four I agree yeah all right we are on the hole 17 par 3 234 feet this is one of the most if not the most gettable hole at blackhawk the most common play is going to be down this left gap thumb on the forehand there is a tighter backhand gap as well but as you can see Emmit throw in that standard forehand and getting right up there yeah it is also pretty easy to go to go deep on this hole to take a nasty skip you can go way past that's like I'm perfect from beau oh yeah maybe I see maybe that's the best forehand in the United States I'm just gonna Andrew that's the risk of taking that backhand gap there's a lot more trees on that side well I mean that's the thing with this course though it's like the easiest hole out here is still I mean so got missed some trees you know still no walk in the park and that was just a missed release there's gonna be a long putt to save his par Oh money the whole way and just barely missed can't believe that didn't go in yeah hate to see that sac sac gonna extra high I probably know that basket on the mound didn't want to go too far back he misses the ice and it's feeling the putt and that's gonna put him at seven down I didn't realize that he had made up this much ground on bone Zach yeah he's it's last half of the round yeah I feel like hasn't missed a putt this whole back nine yeah he's been killing it that's gonna put beau at 10-under Andrew with the really unfortunate bogey yeah I feel like Andrew could easily be up there with Zach and Beau - it's just yeah a couple of holes mistakes all right we are on the hole 18 this is a par-3 284 feet last hole of this front nine it carries right there is a lot of trees in the fairway and really at the play is a turnover shot with a mid-range or fairway driver you will also see the forehand play as well that's that's a little bit more risky because there's a lot more trees on the left side carrying all the way down so yeah and if you throw a forehand through that main gap there's a good chance it's gonna finish way right - so yeah the backhands my preferred route mm-hmm and it kind of got lucky there and got all the way through that he pulled his Drive and ended up I'll think only about 50 60 feet Wow yeah develop hitting the tree kick into the right common looks like saks pulling out a like they should cut a couple these smaller trees down in the middle of fairway yeah it's I mean I don't know it's just just a couple though I can just make that gap a tiny bit bigger no I think it's challenging enough the way it is that's Andrew putting out a really nice shot best shot of the bunch so far though but kind of worked out that yeah look at that yeah oh yeah it's like went deep yeah it is top 25 yeah should be able to make that oh and end it surprisingly tried to hit that right gap instead of taking the more open left side maybe he's not that comfortable with the Annie it's that first three save not happy taking us on this hole and putting it a little bit wide and hand rube just a little bit low once again it's been low all round really yeah bow finishing at 10 down pretty salty yep pretty salty and a bogey from Emmet until you hear what Matt Bell shot then you're like wow that really wasn't that great spoiler alert geez it's coming right after this anyways yeah true alright well that's gonna include the back nine of the first round of the 2019 Mohawk Park open Matt bell shooting a ridiculously hot 16 down the man the myth the legend Ron converse suiting 814 Richard why he you know him
