2019 Winters Last Blast | RD2, F10, MPO | Hatfield, Vallance, Engel, Menees

hello everybody welcome back to the second round of 2019 winters last blast in Vernon Texas at Hillcrest Country Club yes so far we got Kota Hatfield just killing the game yeah he is throwing it yeah he's 10-under par Dylan valance Billy Engle and Steve manie's gave me these back on the bike on the foot of the back on the footage good to have him back on the card I'm getting straight into it we are at hole 1 once again this is a par-5 898 feet really just wanted throw something out straight as far as you can and then you have a pretty dangerous upshot yeah I get that Road right behind the basket yeah that the baskets actually kind of like on a hill too so yeah you want to be careful of going too far right so here is Cota and it has thank God warmed up a little bit since the airs around warmed up a lot yeah that's just your average shot right there yeah really kind of work nothing else you can do as far as I haven't seen you rollers off the tee on this way yet yeah I think it's that hill yeah you really have to launch it to get a roller down yeah it is kind of like a funky elevation change right there you end up a little bit left down the hill if you might have a blind upshot yeah Hale depending on how far it went here we got Billy Engle making his GK pro debut yeah good to have him in on the card yeah sponsored by anybody's really really salty player oh yeah he if you're in Oklahoma you definitely know this guy yes he had the first disc golf ESPN SportsCenter top ten ace that's impressive yeah at a 2015 GB oh wow yep how about how did I miss that I don't know I'm out of the loop I got bitten haven't been keeping up with your YouTube yeah but for those who remember the video yeah the ESPN commentator was like oh he was straight like dogging this call no he wasn't he wasn't like dogged but like the way he said disc golf more so yes yeah he was like this go yeah it was funny there's stephenie's with this upshot Steve can crush a disc as well yeah really this whole card goes really far yeah he ended up a little bit short there this is Billy this is pretty head and squeak through the trees yeah it's very difficult getting up to the basket from where he's at yeah and he I mean that's great line it's just not quite enough but yeah he's gonna be about 6070 short there we got Dylan just couldn't quite convert the putts in the first round but yeah did well not to stay on the only card and yeah hoping to see some puss lay in this round kind of had a good last few holes there yeah yeah you definitely got a taste of what he could do towards the end there mm-hmm just Kota he's got that st. Pro is he lining up a roller when we grab yes he absolutely is this is looking money Wow oh my god this dude has rollers are crazy yeah he's looking at an eagle Steve good up shop in there yep be able to tap in the birdie yeah yep confusing we're not used to always par five all right when you start getting used to that by the way yeah that'll work here is Billy for Eagle oh that's really good run yeah I gave it a really nice half run it was like the perfect speed yeah like not going past too much and actually giving it like a legit chance yeah but he said Kota just a little bit too high yeah beats happening I was in a great burger yeah what you're just Dylan there we go first putt of the round good way to start Steve manie's with that well I called it a tracksuit but he kind of got offended as a nope it's a win suit yeah still swaggin nonetheless yeah that looks great I want one looks like maybe a Carhartt beanie you never know we're now a commentating fashion you know when there's a wide open par-5 you say what you gotta say yeah all right hold - this is a par-3 343 feet well it's again the tree here plays it kind of gets in your head it's very low hanging you really just want to throw a straight mid Ranger putter shot because it will carry all the way down this hill we I did also see a forehand flex shot as well okay so we might see one of those yeah this hole I think it's pretty tricky just because you don't have probably any room for any kind of Heiser you either guy go right at it or slight a knee flex or something like that here's Kota putting it out real low I see it's just like just barely awkward enough to him to make it slightly difficult yeah he's up there he's doing flipping one out there while there that this is looking a really nice beautiful shot oh yeah that'll work kind of got a lengthy roll there but hopefully you can convert that put yeah that looks like it's late early yeah that is heading towards the OB yeah he is going to be putting for three from the edge of that green yeah I'm curious how many people went on that green throughout the tournament yeah Steve's throwing his trusty Ricky Raptor destroyer crushes that thing yeah and he went a little deep there yeah we'll see that later on the wall like a Memphis if it's the front nine or back 11 but there's a hole where he just absolutely destroys that thing yeah it's a little high and right yeah could a car run though yeah it was I've been really good par save your Steve for two yeah he's got a little nose up there yeah here's Kota for two you know hell yeah I'll bring him to 12-under par gentlemen keep with Cota stay in there stayed in yeah I'll truly the x-factor for Kota last round was just his puss were going in yeah not all of them but a lot of them and yeah that's what the Olin would be right up there with Kota absolutely if he made most of those putts yeah he was just barely up a bad spit outs and it was just holding on to that left side yeah all right hole three this is a par three 298 feet there is a hyzer backdoor route that most people will be taking there's a forehand route as well or if you're crazy like Kota Hatfield is like we saw last round oh he's gonna be crazy again it looks like yes that roller is just it's not there but for him it is yeah first round he like bounced off that was he can hit it again okay he bounced off that tree was part Oh how much that time he ended up Oh be there should be able to save the three though I guess that's kind of the kind of a riff that rollers kind of a risk/reward what the he'd risk because like that was a great shot he's only like 25 out you know it was like really accurate it's just those easy it's 30 yeah Steve's going with that forehand it's looking nice yeah beautiful yeah that work show up a little bit short but should be able to make that putt here we got Billy taking that backdoor route get him okay oh yeah that the forehand routes the easiest it's just a sketchiest as well yeah so we need to skip OB you I just realized that mailbox in the trunk of that tree yeah it was oh just a little bit low from doing I think the mailbox those it said score cards on their pets yeah but it's kind of weird if they would have the score cards like on the fifth hole of the golf course yeah yeah okay I guess that's like the like the most common time to realize that you forgot to get one yeah up curlier kind of buckled me because it's like why is this here just Billy for the - yeah oh yeah and Billy is a super solid putter you just kind of solid all-around player yeah he's a fundamental player he doesn't do anything spectacular he's just really solid mm-hmm well right hold for this is a par for 723 feet you really just wanted to throw a bomb out straight depending on where you want to land or how you want to attack the basket you can end up either left or right but yeah yeah this show was gonna say the challenge is really just up shot you got some trees down by the by the basket there I mean obviously the drive is just wide open but yeah you're really just trying to put yourself in a good spot to attack the basket on your second shot you know usually you're trying to get up to that that big tree on the right side yeah this is really low take a big skit maybe that'll work oh my god I think he's running away got a lot more distance than what I thought it was gonna be yeah and he might be able to offer the forehand there I can't really tell how far he is up there but he does so for hands pretty far mm-hmm yeah Billy just turning it over too much roller alert the roller alert put him back in the middle of fairway if he if you wanted to be there I'm looking down on you really don't want to be short of that tee box there now a kid tee box yeah yeah coda with that bliss the pro actually yeah we got another throw ler yeah I think that was actually supposed to be a roller really don't you think I'm not sure honestly although I mean I he could have been trying to throw like a big turning shot and just didn't get it high enough yeah I can't tell if the wind is here but yeah we don't really see him roll that ballistic pro2 off to test true and that's gonna be in a good spot yeah Dylan right by that tree he's gonna try to replicate what happened wait did he throw her second son last yeah I can't remember yeah I can't get on one of the long holes and it was a beauty yeah see if he can do it again just like it's leaking a little bit right yeah and oh that needs to slow down that is actually OB across the fence yeah he is going to be putting four four from about 40 feet yeah this needs to Heiser mmm that'll do should be able to convert for birdie there and ya see Steve is up there far enough at the left forehand oh yeah yeah that'll work that is just fine Dylan I threw a beautiful upshot remember that last round yeah laced it he threw that backhand around the the trees over there who barely stays in bounds yeah that thing was just coming a little bit too hot here's cover for ya slow but short yeah he is going to take a bogey on this hole gentlemen needing this putt yeah oh yeah he they're laying in this round slow it down bring it back wherever you won't go there great putt from Dylan they're putting him at 8-under par he's not only four strokes back yahuda and see he's not too far back either see if he can land this putt just kind of pulled it a little bit right Billy mm-hmm and that's surprising to see that might be the biggest phone of all time in his back pocket I mean that thing is huge is that a phone without a scorecard or something I think that's probably like a iPhone plus plus plus yeah why are you looking at Billy's but it was just like very obvious Stephen Parr they're coded fall them back one stroke yeah I'm sure he wasn't expecting to go beyond the shot obvious okay all right whole five this is a par three three hundred feet once again I mean you really just want to throw over stable mid or fairway to the right and have it Heiser back to the basket pretty open hole pretty easy and must get birdie for these guys yeah use can't saw it off because that OB is right there though playing a wide is better than cutting too short perfect shot from doing yeah and but these like simple short holes you really need to get them yeah a little bit high and it's OB he is gonna be putting for three from about 45 is eating that for ah it might be a little bit closer I will see Billy a little turn I'm sure II wasn't expecting that leaked way right on him he's gonna have a long putt for his bird just coated with that Explorer again do it all first round probably hunt throw it all second round it's a nice flip up and okay yeah perfect shot from Kota Gudrun from Billy yeah he's super good at that like speed control in those putts yeah oh yeah Steve went out way allows it to the best I wasn't gonna Rose to you but I was pretty confident this is pretty close yeah pretty save this par good pretty from cut kill him just tap it in the last hole he only he got two strokes on coda the only three back yeah Wow all right hole six par three this is 320 feet you really just want to throw a high Heiser or a low Heiser skip shot once again the tree and the bushes on the left side take out that forehand play but yet again another super easy hole for these guys definitely a must get yeah just don't go in those bushes behind the basket that is not gonna be fun don't is really dialed in right now yeah he's brought it back from last round and he's just taking advantage of cutters mistakes yeah let me run out there yeah I thought he released that way too early but he's knowing to flip up the straight shot you know Steve throwing out that ricky destroyer nice and low oh yeah that's what I like to play the skip on this hole yeah aim at that tree on the right side and just let us skip right at it a perfect shot from Steve like Billy's just kind of try to spike it in there beautiful yeah you got a starboard little star frame action maybe oh I hope so we didn't get to see that first round dang why would you why would you do that i jinxed kota totally from the future yep that's Talent they're still in just a little bit short again really is only stumble this round Billy for two and that'll do Steve just flopping it in Kota left himself a little comebacker here left side snuck in there yeah good putt though Dylan is getting yet another stroke he took a par oh yeah I missed his missed by or yeah dang Wow he could've just he could have a lot of strokes oh yeah all right hole seven this is a par-4 640 feet you really just want to throw a hyzer towards this tree on the right and have it land safely because this fairway once again is an island the entire fairway and then just kind of be careful of those trees in the middle of the fairway so you ideally want to end up left or right for your up shot yeah I prefer being on that right side but then again off the drive you're really just trying to put that thing saves no it's hard to be picky off the driver yeah Steve but not a really nice shot perfect that's right what you want to be right there he has already should have a hyzer route to the basket bill is pushing that left side a little bit that's just fine a stays in he's doing keeping it nice and low hopefully that doesn't take too big of a skip and it settles down on that left side here we have Cota looks like he's got that ballista Pro again getting a little bit of flip up SD okay okay got in front of that tree oh oh okay but dude I thought I saw something rolling like towards that would be for a sec oh that was not as disc it's Steve Steven what the forehand route here and I shot needs to get a little skip it's up there it's FBI once again thanks for mastery for having us down here oh yeah such a smooth tournament like he always does always a pleasure home in tournaments from that super excite about Nick Hyde will be there yeah yeah don't be we'll get to meet the Joe mezco super excited about that yeah shout out to Joe has for just kind of leading the pack on the oh absolutely we've taken a lot of inspiration from them for sure yeah the Amana Central Coast yes a little short from Kota yeah circles edge you know Billy's got a wide open up shot here great Drive yeah he was way farther than I was but she totally shanks his upshot yeah just way short on that one I mean that's a routine throw for him yeah definitely trying to get this one oh and that's pretty uncharacteristic thing yeah that was weird looking yeah maybe I was trying to play that wind blow Annie Annie putt Steve just a little bit too high this is Cota for the lone bird just a little low from him too yeah now it seems like Cota kind of lost we had 1st round going into this one not quite hitting the puss he was earlier yeah I'm sure we'll bring it back around though oh yeah good par safe from Billy Dylan great birdie beautiful he is now only two strokes back from Koda that's crazy I didn't realize they were this close well it's like when you're filming you don't really like see them like make the puss get your walk into the next hole get you in position so yeah I I never have any idea how yeah how they how they do now Delon made a nice little run here in the front nine on Kota see if he can keep it going makes it better for the viewers that's for sure yep all right hole 8 par-3 474 feet the rock hole you really just want to throw something like I or you wanna throw distance driver straight ideally you want to have it Heiser underneath that tree and have a little skip up to the basket but you really just wanna get as close as you can to this because it's not fun putting on it yeah it's a pretty awkward shot it's fairly downhill get that tree down kind of by the sidewalk right there that you have to dodge so yeah there's really no room for the hyzer shot mm-hmm Dylan ends up quite a bit deep yeah we write we write you you'll just be laying up for a three here's that ricky destroyer he loves that thing well I mean look at it would you look at it yeah just look at this they have a nice little like flip up to him yeah maybe I should get me one of them I've been I tried to but my you know car didn't go through like I said like a really Oklahoma than there need to get me one of them give me one of them they're destroyers okay you can rise but are very scary Paz yeah I'm curious everything on wrong I mean unless you're touching the rock it's a scary putt yeah bring out that ballista Pro again it looks like it's hiding a little bit too early but that's just fine yep three is totally fine on the sole yeah you are new twos a bonus for sure because full I mean bogeys and double bogeys can happen very easily with this kind of elevated basket you know surprised to see Dylan run that that's a smart decision that yeah especially cuz you have another round coming so you got some room doesn't hurt to make some moves you don't want to do anything stupid here Steve's thinking about being stupid but he's not but he's not Dylan and he barely missed this whole first round - he was about the same range and just miss a little inside first round but a little bit low here you know and he will most likely be losing a stroke Dakota Billy going with the turbo yeah it's always such an awkward putt from that distance yeah the basket that's you know yeah like you don't need yeah yeah Kota getting a stroke back from Dylan he is now in the lead by three we're at hole nine this is a par three 335 feet very uphill you really just want to throw a straight fairway driver try and get as far up the hill as you can or there is if you got power a hyzer route around the right side of the tree yeah that hi Zara you just got felt really high and really hard it's really hard to get up to the basket that way but yeah the forehand or the flex at the middle is my preferred route Steve putting that Ricky destroyer up there just a little bit short he'll have a long putt for his bird yeah and the camera definitely does not do this elevation change justice not at all I mean it is very uphill as you can see by people struggling to get it all the way up to the basket yeah we have kota most likely throw on that just or explorer get a little bit of flip up didn't look like you did got as much flip up as you wanted yeah he'd pull a bit too much - I think yeah but he still got a putt up there it's hard to get disc to turn while you're throwing up hill - and Ellen's trying to put this one close that's close enough yeah hope you about circles edge there maybe a little bit inside the circle Steve yeah bet a headwind on that putt just give it a soft go saying that my Billy coda with a long look for too oh I am hold it tad bit right doors open for Dylan here you know gain another stroke I mean he's trying to get that stroke back from the last hole yeah oh yeah great putt from Dylan yeah it's great that's how you want to hit those chains yep the absolute sweet spot parcei from Kota looks like we got Steven and Billy tapping in for pars as well are there any permanent courses in Vernon probably not I don't believe so yeah it's pretty small town yeah all right hole ten this is a par-5 1134 feet Jesus it is the driving range hole as you can see by the yardage markers you really just want to throw three or four bombs and try to get as close to the basket as you can yep there is OB that cart path plays OB on the left side but it really doesn't come into play at all yeah and I actually saw a couple people trying to kill rollers and they kept hitting those number signs yeah the yard signs yeah the artists signs yeah there's all kind of kinds of dents on those yardage signs oh yeah and the golf balls hitting it you this is looking like a crush from Steve come on yeah it's a great shot yeah that'll work fade it out just in time to get that skipped yeah that way there's nothing more frustrating when like it barely runs out of time you got a fading and then yeah and just digs yeah you hope that maybe slides a little bit but Kota with his trusty ballista Pro between that and the Explorer does he throw anything I really hope that has a Bliss of pro because I've been calling it with the pro for like the last four hours I'm pretty sure it is though Kota if it's not just roast me in the comments and I'll just I'll just eat it up Steve but not high that looks like he just didn't quite get that low enough honestly yeah it was kind of a just a bad shot yeah there's a little tailing on this hole so maybe that little factor yeah probably stabled that disc out a little sooner than he thought Dylan just kind of trying to adjust from what he saw from Steve but can over adjust it yeah it's Billy second shot he's just gonna try and lay up in front of these trees to have an open look and that'll work yeah accuracy is not the most important factor on this ol hole though as far as you can maybe your last throws to be accurate yeah other than that you're just trying to crush Kota trying to get that roller down and he gets past the trees but I'm sure he was trying to get closer than that yeah I mean still a fantastic shot Dylan just looking good seems to skip up yeah yeah that's way closer that was great shot from Dylan left about 20 footer yep oh also don't forget yeah it was h2o you know I can I can picture that stamp on it with this blue right yeah yeah yeah yeah but I remember throwing that thing and I was just like oh my so you might throw on a Firebird like a champion metal flake max wait Firebird yeah nice birdie they're back coda oh yeah put a mess 13 under par this is Dylan to keep pace with Kota going with the straddle oh yeah you will hold two back of Kota here's Billy tie it up with Steve or no that was a part that was the part that was a part and Steve just tapping out the par well that is gonna conclude the front nine or front of ten of the second round Kota still holding the lead but Dylan has been making moves closing the gap Billy Engle and Steve needs not too far behind hopefully we can see them make some moves in this back 11
