Welcome back everyone to the 2026 Bottle Lake Open in Christ Church, New Zealand. It's part of the Tour Down Under brought to you by Gothro, sponsored by MVP Disc Sports. I'm Sarah Hok here with Chandler Ray in the booth. That's right. Chokeum is back in the booth. And we did have a couple other good suggestions. Uh, one of them was craving chowder. So, if you know, you know. On the Craves there. Um, we're back here at Bottle Lake Forest Golf Course. It is a cold one today. Uh, temperatures dropped about 20°. I don't know what that is in Celsius. You guys can figure that out. We still don't know the systems. But, um, we got a different wind today. It picked up on us a little bit. Uh leading us off here, we've got the one and only Sarah Hokum, sponsored by MVP Discs. She is out there. That's a backhand. >> What? That wasn't me. >> What? >> That's not >> Yeah, that's in That's a false advertisement. She's the forehand queen. We all know. >> And next on the card, we've got Sophia Donica sitting at four over sponsored by Inova Discs. She is an absolute ripper. From Victoria, BC. She's here down under to play some disc golf and chase down a win today. Third up, we got Allison Tweety. Also at plus four, just two off the lead. Plays for Dismania. She's a 15-year-old phenom world champion from Inver Cargill, New Zealand, the very bottom tip of New Zealand. She's only 909 rated, but she's playing much higher than that this weekend. And rounding out our group is Taylor Chosk. She's plus seven, but you can't count her out. She's been getting the most birdies on the holes that nobody else is getting. Hailing from Eugene, Oregon, she throws a country mile. All right, starting us off on hole one, we've got a par4, 607 ft, OB on the left and the right side. You want a placement shot off the tee to get yourself lined up to this gap to approach the basket with a low ceiling and some sneaky OB right behind. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. We're at the final day of the 2026 MVP Discs Bottle Lake Open. And this is the conclusion of a great season here down under for, of course, the MVP discs tour down under. You're about to kick off FPO lead card action here for the final event. And we've got a great card, a Kiwi, a Canadian, and two Americans to contest this last title here on the tour and down under. It's going to be an exciting day. Not that many shots separate our lead card and we look forward to an awesome battle here in Christ Church to end the season. You are of course watching the MVP discs two or down under here on go throw. And now we welcome our players. First she's from Cornwall, Idaho, your overnight leader. She had a stellar round yesterday 965 rated even pal and takes a two-shot lead into this final round. Please give it up for Sarah Hoken. I think I see two craves. >> That's correct. I'm I'm going to go with the stable one because this there's actually a headwind right now. >> Yeah, we had a kind of a ripping wind on the hole today. >> This is the first time we've had a headwind on this shot >> and it was a chilly one. was not stable enough. Yeah, should have clubbed up to the globe one back of our leader in a tie for second place. She's from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. A one-time tour down under champion at the 2025 Egg Monster Disc Golf Classic and the 2024 Canadian National Champion. Please give it up for Sophia Donica. Sophia lining up at Thunderbird and gets a lot of turn out of her hand, but she's still safe over there. >> I think the wind took it. >> Final round of the MVP disc open. She is your reigning FJ15 uh junior world champion and having herself a stellar event. 44 ratings points above her penny rating and on lead card each of the last two rounds. Please give it up for New Zealand's own Allison Tweedy. And Allison's going PD off the tea here. >> Yeah, a little bit of a change from yesterday. Looks like she made a good adjustment for the wind and had some good angle control on that to keep it in the fairway. Great start. >> Rounding out the action here for final round lead card of the 2026 MVP discs bottle lake open. This is the FPO lead card. She's from Eugene, Oregon here in New Zealand two years in a row and making her eighth appearance on the MVP discs. ball uh excuse me, MVP discs tour down under. She's having herself a tidy event and is just a couple of shots back from a podium finish. Please give it up for Taylor Chos. I think this is the first time I've seen her disc up off of this tee. She's usually got a zone in her hands. >> Also hits that right side >> and the ladies are on the way. >> Doesn't quite get it down the middle enough. >> Beautiful. >> Yeah, the wind is really something we haven't seen yet. So, we're going to see how we make these adjustments. >> I really wanted to throw a sidearm here, but felt like it was probably a bad choice. backhand. >> So, I went with the backhand. I was happy with the release. Uh, but the result >> Oh, >> this time it was not so friendly. >> Oh, no. >> Wasn't on the edge this time. >> I'm in jail over there. Allison kind of gets caught up there, too. Everything's coming out a little bit right for you guys, right? >> Yeah, we're not really adjusting for the wind very well. We also, Neither one of us have been in those positions before, so this gap is harder than it looks to hit. Taylor with the zone gets a good ground play. >> Yeah, that got a little skippy on her. But that'll that'll be perfect. >> That's a birdie. Look. >> Sophia's in a much more awkward position. That's something. What a play. Yeah. Right down the middle. >> Perfect positioning for a par look. So she can get up and down from there. This is her bullfrog. Yeah, >> it's all you can ask for. >> Yeah, this hole's playing pretty hard. This whole tournament yesterday and the day before, we haven't seen any birdies on it. >> Allison's kind of just forced to pitch that out there. >> Taylor will have our really our only look. I'm >> Oh, you've got a gap. A roller. Yes, this is I'm throwing a tempo just trying to get it to move left and give me some kind of look. Well, it's moving. Yeah. End up just outside the circle. Try to save a bogey. Allison's par shot ends up pretty far away, so she's just pitching up there. She'll also end up over part of starch. Taylor, not much of a look for the bird or for the birdie. So, but Lamp's a solid uh choice on that one. >> Yeah. So, no birdies on our card. No birdies in the field either. That was such a close bid. >> Almost got the save. >> A little bit more. >> Sophia with a tap in par. Good solid start there. Was playing a whole stroke over par today. Playing as the fourth hardest hole. also with the single bogey. >> And Sarah's going in for the double. And we're going to see a two-stroke swing early on. >> Yeah. You know, I figure I don't like a target on my back, so why not just kick? Everybody could just catch up right now. >> Get rid of it real quick. >> Yeah. >> Level the playing field. Give everyone else a chance. >> I'm sure that's what you were thinking. >> Yeah, of course. Sophia ties it up right there on the first hole. Now we're on hold two. It's a par4. 656 ft. Players want to get out to the left of this those trees to have access for the birdie. Then there's a mando on that right side and there's Obi on the left side as the green starts to conrict constrict all the way to the pin where there is a rollway potential. There's a bowl behind it that makes the putt a little tricky. Sophia going back to that Thunderbird. >> You can really see her focus on trying to nail these shots. Yeah. And that's it. I mean, she's been so good on this whole Taylor, too. Taylor's had access to the birdie. One of the few people that actually she got this one yesterday. Looks like she's going fairway driver. Doesn't quite sneak through those. So close. That was looking good. Probably won't have access to the birdie from there. Alison going back to that PD. She threw it really well on that first hole, but kind of fades out here. And she's under those left pines. She'll have to pitch out from there. I'm clubbing up to the eclipse crave, a glow crave. >> I wanted to believe that was an orbital, not a cr. >> Uh, the orbital would have turned a lot and would have likely not flown underneath those branches as easily. Although, I do like that dance. >> You were just craving the fairway hit, >> right? I needed one at that point. >> She's out. Yeah, caught that whole branch on the way out. So, she will have another recovery shot. It's a bit high. Not a bad result. Just got a tree in the way now. Going with a really overstable photon. Trying to get a big fade. Yeah, I thought I was around it. I liked the shot, but >> I thought it was around it, too. Fooled me. >> The wind lifted it into the tree, so I have another shot to try to throw. >> That was a beautiful shape on that. She'll have that left to try to get a bogey save. Sophia's going for a turnover. She's in a great position to do so. And it's outside the circle, but she has an open look to get up and down for an easy par. Me on the other hand, I'm going to have to throw at least two shots to get to the basket. That's a fireball. Alison's got that tactic in her hand. She throws this like a wizard. I mean, not the disc the wizard, but unfortunately that one wasn't so wi wizardry. She's leaving herself quite a long putt to try to save the par or save the bogey. a textbook approach. Wind's picking up here a little bit. I'm kind of trying to get a read on it. Make sure I'm going to throw the right line. I'm at the range. And actually, I switched to the tempo because of the wind. Get a little bit more stability on that. Left it a little short, too. Long. Long look from Sophia doesn't need to look at the chains. She's got a tap in par ahead of her which right now is gaining strokes on folks. No birdies in the field again today. This playing as the hardest third hardest hole on the course. Big putt here from Allison. Save bogey. That's insane. Wow. Let's look take a look at this perfect little hiser. >> Her putt is so smooth. >> It really is >> in the wind to just fight through it that way. >> And that's a death butt laser beam. >> There's a back there's a drop off on the back side. I will also card the bogey. That's three strokes over par in two holes. Things are not looking good for me. And a couple of pars from the besties. And with that, Sophia takes the solo lead. I'm just one back. Allison is one off of her. And Taylor is just one off of her. And they're off to hole three. 358t par three. Obie on the left and right side coming up to an elevated pin on a mound. Some rollway potential. This one's going to not be fun to putt at in the wind. Sophia's throwing her J. She got this one yesterday. Had a tailwind today. And that's up there. Taylor going noo s hangs it out pretty wide but it's got a good fade. She'll be middle of circle two edge outer edge of circle two roughly. This is a DD3. She really ripped on that. It almost looked like it was going to hit those trees, but she gets all the way up there for a putt. That tailwind stabled it out. I think I'm going Photon. Got a little bit of carry in the wind, but pretty much the same result. >> Yeah, >> I'm really just getting a >> 50-footer at this. Taylor also laying it up, >> but Sophia and Allison have putts. Wow, that's a that's a great birdie to get. >> The Tweety Birdie. >> The Tweety Birdie. >> That's uh after bogey bogey hitting a big putt even to save that bogey, she gets the birdie to erase one of those mistakes. >> Sophia, >> you're looking to increase her lead. >> What a great splashed out. >> She had a great drive there. >> So Allison the only one with the birdie on this card and actually the only one in the field to get the birdie. Taylor just cruising at pars. >> It's not a bad thing. So Sophia still maintains her lead and Allison gets one back. We're on to hole four. It's OB on the right. It comes up quick and then approach the pin to try to get this birdie. It's playing as one of the easier holes with kind of a soft par five, but it's still got tons of trouble. Allison going FD on this one. Great change. She got a lot less turn yesterday and ended up in these trees on the left and now she's got to look to get around the corner. This is even better with the J from Sophia. And Taylor's going buzz. It's a nice little turnover on it into position. >> I think she sent that. Yeah, I think she might have left it out a little bit more left than she wanted, but it's still great from back there. It sure opens up that line so you don't have to take such an extreme angle. >> I'm going photon. Trying to push it left far enough so it doesn't end up right. And I don't. It's really right. Awfully right. Almost so right that it's almost OB, but it's not. >> That's pushing it. >> Yeah, you're forced into the roller again. >> Yeah. cut roller here. I want it to stay in this angle like a two o'lock around this mando and stay turning. It kind of stands up. It doesn't stay turning, but it hits a tree before it gets too far away. Should be workable. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Taylor's got a pretty good angle on this. >> That's That's nice. Yeah, she's definitely getting up there. M making those next gaps a little bit easier. PD from Allison. And she finds a way. >> That's great. Opens up a lot of lines if you're early on these tree lines cuz then the OB doesn't come. The OB comes into play, but the trees are a lot less dense. Sophia's got a nice look at this gap, too. Yeah, this looks much easier if you push up there. >> That's a Firebird from Sophia. >> Another roller. >> Yeah, man. The the gaps are tight and I'm not risking an air shot here. >> The wind is >> the wind pushes it a little bit left. Uh, which is okay. I still have a chance to get up and down for a par. Allison's left just a short approach. That tactic. Very nice. Sophia with a similar approach around the outside >> and little trickles down. She got about 20 25 ft on the back side. I mean, Taylor was way up there. >> Yeah, it helps when you're just like >> You just parked. >> Yeah, it's when she's so far left. It opens up that line. I had a really hard decision making on this one. This isn't the most open area, but it's the best shot I could come up with. >> Try to get a look. >> Little fall. Sometimes you just got to put your body into it. >> I did give myself a look. >> Sophia for birdie. And it's in. Little left side catch. Looking real clean on the scorecard right now. Gets herself to three over. I'm happy with the par there. >> Sophia and Taylor are going to be picking up a stroke here. >> And Allison also, yeah, she's also got this birdie putt. >> You lost to the card on this hole. >> Yeah, I mean, they made it look way easier than >> And the 10year-old got it today. I got to watch her absolutely pure the shot. >> She actually got it both days. Okay. Obie on the right side with a hazard bunker right behind the basket. There's a little drop off that leads your disc right into it. If you miss a putt or go long, this one could take some big numbers. Could see some swings on this hole. Allison going with her instinct. Just pure instincts. >> Little bit early release. >> She'll have to approach from way back behind the hazard. You can see the hazard there in the corner of the screen. Sophia going with her AVR. >> Oh yeah, >> perfect angle. Nice gap hit on that. >> Little decision to make there. She's about maybe 15 20 ft. >> Taylor with her zone looking for a little ground play action. >> That's not not that kind. >> The other ground play. >> The other Yeah. Skip towards the basket. >> Yeah. Unfortunately, just skip lumpy ground. >> I'm going to go with my crave. A little bit lower release today, which was better, but I still didn't quite get there. I'll have to I'm about 50 feet. So, I'm not running that putt. Allison's just going to lay that up. >> Not one you want to run. >> Yeah, at least it a little bit short, but should be no problem. She's a She's been a fantastic putter this entire time. Like, I don't think I've seen her really miss. >> Sophia to pick up a stroke. >> Wow. >> Make up for the last miss. >> That's two birdies in a row. She >> two under on the round through five. >> Yeah, she is playing really clean. >> Good. >> Allison for her par. Yeah, that's an uncharacteristic miss. And now for the bogey. It's off the top and back to a similar spot. And she makes the connection in for the double. And that's an unfortunate one to get uh without getting any hazard strokes or OB strokes on that hole. We'll see how she recovers from that. This can sometimes kind of wreck havoc on your kind of putting mentality when you have kind of when you three putt like that. But she's just been a really strong putter. We'll see how she recovers. Hole six is a par4. 380. It's only 384 ft, but it's this tight gap where you're going to want to turn this corner landing about here and then pro approach this tight green. There's a lot of lanes and they're all small. And there is OB right behind the basket inside of the bullseye even Thunderbird for Sophia. She puts that in short of that corner nicely and gets a skip right into the middle. >> Beautiful shot. She's playing flawless. >> I'm going with a relay. Once again, we love to watch that shot. Taylor playing a little skip. Just a little straight. Sometimes you'd like to get it low and get the slide up there, but that was just a little bit bad ground play. >> Yeah, that that disc has to hit on a hiser on the ground for it to skip left. If it hits flat, is it going to just skip straight? And Taylor's got a lot of work here. >> She's got a gap, though. And she nails it. What a shot. A little kick there, but that'll be a pretty easy up and down to save the par. >> Ah, denied on the approach. >> Just gets caught up there. It'll be a tough birdie look for her. Allie's got her instinct out or tactic, excuse me. puts that right up there. Looking to erase some strokes. I'm going with a reactor here just inside the circle. I liked the initial line, but there are some trees to beat there at the end. Taylor will get a easy par from there. Sophia with a long birdie look. Looks like a layup. Oh, you psycho. Are you psychopath? >> Uh, it was a it was a soft bid. >> You had an opportunity and you took it. >> I needed a something. So Ally, great recovery there. Gets the birdie as well. And Sophia and Taylor will tap out the par. Sophia's still got two strokes and Allison's right behind me. We're on a hole 7, 856 ft par five or 261 m and you need to hit this initial gap off of the tea and make it inbounds to this large island. Obie on the right and left side and then approaching low ceiling to the basket with the mean hazard bunker and OB all around makes it a really tough one to get a birdie. >> It's a lot of placement shots on this one it feels like. >> Yeah, there's a lot of trouble to be found on this hole. I'm going to go with the glow crave the eclipse line. I learned my lesson on the first hole to throw the stable one. It was a good choice. Allison going DD3. She struggled out of the gap yesterday >> and she finds a way. Different mistake today, but she is in bounds. Sophia with a ripper. >> Yeah, that was a good hit off the cap. She really challenged that right side, but it was clean going the whole way. And she's way up there. Taylor pushing on the left. She's in that pine tree. It's pretty tough to get out of there. She's going to have really chops off the distance. PD from Allison. Nice recovery shot. Taylor forced to do the standill. leaves it out left. >> That's a tough one. And it's out of bounds >> and almost kills the spectator. >> Holy cow. At >> least we have a look at where it went out though. I'm going my stable vision photon. There's a bit of a headwind. Just placing it. Nothing to see here, folks. >> Looks a little pinched. No, >> it is pinched. Yeah. Oops. >> Oopsie. >> Sophia with her second Thunderbird into the pine. >> Pulls that a little bit off to the right again, but it's works out well. Right in the fairway. >> It's not going to really hurt. >> Not a bad result. >> Maybe it'll hurt her birdie opportunity look, but she's still got plenty of space to get the par save. Allison with a similar mistake cuts through the front side. Fairway driver here from Taylor. And this is great. Gets herself right back into position. >> Perfect placement from there. This is a relay. I don't have a lot of room here. >> That worked out beautifully. >> Yeah, the wind gave me a little more carry left so I could shape that shot. And >> good recovery from that spot. >> Still a little way to the pin though. And the hazard bunker is looming. DD3 here from Allison. >> The hazard bunker is calling your name. >> I hope not. Please, >> please no hazard bunker. Please. >> It's Yeah, it's it's there. It's It's big. It It catches frisbees. >> I haven't actually seen anybody go into it yet on any of my cards. >> Well, you're in luck. >> But it's not Sophia. >> Oh, foreshadowing. Little foreshadowing. >> I don't know. I happen to be on this card, so Oh, Taylor with a misfire. leaves her right next to Sophia. >> I'm going to take my early guess and my early guess it's going to be you. >> Okay, let's see. >> Oh no, that wasn't you. >> I've got a tempo. It's got a bad fade. You know, it's a good fade or a bad fade in this case. >> Oh, it wasn't It wasn't you. >> Uhoh, Alison. I mean, maybe. I mean, she's got her tactic in her hand. She's usually pretty good at that one. And I didn't want it to be Allison. >> Hazard. Unfortunate. She'll have a putt from inside the circle from the hazard. I can cross that off my bucket list. Sophia with a nice up. She gave that some good power from down there. >> Yeah, she's got a ton of spin. >> Yeah, that's a far putt. I think most people would be going to the forehand or backhand from that distance. >> Taylor a little bit. >> Allison for the putt from about 20 ft. Man, the wind is she had a right to left tail that kind of picked up right when she puted that. So, it didn't help it stay even though she hit a lot of chains. >> It's got to be a tough one coming putting in from the hazard bunker after especially after the mishap on hole five. >> Yeah, losing a little bit of confidence in her putt, but we'll see how she recovers throughout the rest of the round. Taylor also with that out-of- bound stroke gets the double. There's not room for error on this hole because of the distance and the difficulty. So, any mistake you make is going to cost you. Sophia also gets the par though. >> And Sophia's still clean. >> Yeah, she's just really unstoppable. And Allison, unfortunately, with a triple that'll drop her back a few. Now we're on to hole eight. It's a par4. 607 ft. The first shot's a distance shot out this gap trying to land about here. And then you've got to navigate this very, very tight keyhole to a guarded green with OB everywhere. Uh, some players may choose to lay up on that second shot and then throw the shot to the green on their third to play for par. Uh, I'm going to throw a photon here. There's a tailwind, so I decided to give it a little bit of turn to see if I can get some more distance. I don't think it went any farther. >> I don't know. It's always good to take advantage of it, though. It looked a little bit farther to me. I'm proud of you. This is a Eagle L from Sophia. Her signature disc. Go get one. >> And it goes far. >> Yeah. Even for a fairway driver. Very controllable. Taylor with her Athena, which has great turn. Look at this. Boom. Sticks all the way into >> that is up there >> of that second pine on the right. Allison gets some good control out there, too. I'm going to throw a crave here. surprise. Uh trying to hit this gap. I was laying up the first round, but it didn't seem like it was worth it. >> So, >> it's inbound. >> I know, right? Whoa. >> In the trees. >> Yeah, it's a tiny gap. And it didn't seem like the way up doesn't seem like a play for me anymore. Uh Allison with a DD3 trying to also get all the way in there. Yeah, it seems like you got a a pretty similar percentage of a bogey with the layup or going for it, so you might as well. >> Yeah, that's kind of where I'm at with it. But Tweety safe there after the tree hit. >> Oh, Sophia with the lucky little skip up. >> Skips over the inbounds log. Good enough. >> She deserved a little bit of luck after she got denied the first round. >> Taylor with a zone. Going for the larger gap on the right. Misfires and kicks back in bounds. >> Oh, back in bounds. What a kick. >> Somehow we all ended up in bounds after we all went for it. >> That Yeah, that's impressive. >> The trees were on your side today. >> Oh, that one caught a little bit of Allison's power there, but she still got a little putt here. And nice little up shot there from Taylor to save a par. No big deal. And this is a putt for birdie. We haven't seen a single birdie on this hole. >> Oh, >> I thought we were about to see one right now. >> Not yet. I've got to look at now. >> Maybe. Let's see. Nope. >> So, yeah, no birdies in the field today, yesterday, or the day before. >> The pars are still impressive, though. >> They really are. It feels like a birdie when you get one. >> It does. >> And that's a par after a roller coaster few holes. I mean, that's the first par Allison has got. >> That is insane. >> Yeah. Uh, three birdies, two singles, a double, and a triple. That's a smorgish board. We were pretty happy with pars around though on this card. I guess we kind of figured out how to play that hole. And we're on hole nine. This 266 ft par 3 has a daunting gap at the front. OB on the left and long of the basket as well. Uh, and this little twiggy tree in the fairway that you need to miss. also the one in front of the basket. So, it makes it a little bit tough, but I mean it looks easy, but you can get into some trouble. >> The twiggy tree. >> The dang twiggy tree. >> Yeah, >> it's really right in the way. >> It It really is right in the way. >> Yeah. >> Oh, you finally got some turn on it. >> Oh, the blocker tree. >> Oh, the Twiggy tree. >> Got it. >> Yeah, Mr. Twiggy got me. I was pretty happy with the shot though. >> Yeah, you had good shape on that. Sophia going with the low trying to get it to slide. >> Yeah, just a putter. >> Kind of slows down a little bit too much, but she's got to look for birdie and we all know it's makeable putt herself. >> Oh yeah, she's got a great putt from that range. Nice and floaty. The chalalley SS here from >> little chally action gets the slide. That thing is gliding up there on those pine needles. A bump and run inside the bullseye. >> It's that premium plastic getting scooting. >> Scoot >> that hits the ground like halfway up and just gets all the way there. >> Scoot, toot, and bird. >> That's 125 ft of scoot. >> That's a country. >> Scoot, boot, and boogie. >> Scoot. >> You're making me forget the names. This is what you did to me with the metric and imperial system, too. >> That sounds like a country song in itself. Boot scoot and boogie. >> Birdie. >> Scoot and birdie. >> Well, we'll see. Let's see if Allison can get this one. Long look. >> Jeez. >> Yeah. On this one. Yeah, cuz all the holes are short. >> Oh, what a run. She's really going for him all today. >> Sunday run day. >> Sunday run day. And Syrup makes up a stroke on Sophia after that miss. But it was a solid effort. >> Yeah, I wouldn't really call a 45footer much of a miss. >> No, >> I guess it is a miss technically. >> It was just an almost make. >> There it is. >> I called it a miss. But >> great comebacker from Allison. Looks like her putt is looking good again. >> It's coming back together. >> She's got the back nine to try to make up some ground. >> Now I've got that song stuck in my head to do. >> Come on, baby. Let's go. Let's go throw. >> Timing. >> That's nine, guys. And Sophia's got the lead by one. Allison and Taylor are back there with the roller coaster rounds. There's a lot still to happen.
