Video Transcript

Welcome into another tournament shot right here on Gothrow. Today we're watching the 2026 MVP discs Bottle Lake Open. We're in Christ Church, New Zealand, the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. I'm your host, Luke Humphre, joined in the booth again by the tallest of Paul's, Mr. Omen. Fresh off the tattoo board. >> Oh, we're just going to throw that in there. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Christ Church, fourth event. Sadly, some folks are headed home after this. The smart fellas are going to stick around, have a little more fun. This is our second event that has Gothro points. The first event being the Australasian Open. This one here, the Bottle Lake Open. The first person we're looking at today, Mr. Bradley Williams, who took down our last event on coverage right there in Auckland. Beautiful orchard. Just plums. I think some people I don't know. Do you guys bring plums back from there? Look like a plumfield shot. Luke Humphre second player on the card. We're going to see here. >> Yeah. Super stroking the P Model S. >> Yeah, >> the good boy now. >> That's right. >> Matt Bell joining us down here. Had a uh slow start to his his TDU season. Had to drop out of the orchard, but has had a couple weeks to recover and is looking to hit Bottle Lake hard. Then we got Levi Stout, the highest rated player in the Southern Hemisphere. Took down Tatanaki, our first event in the Tour Down Under. Yeah, second place at ball was it? >> Yeah, I think he played pretty good. Had a bit of a putting. >> I got second place. He got third. Sorry. >> Check that. >> But yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing Levi do really well here. He's taking off in April to come over to the States and play some big events. So, I want to see him coming over confident. Guy's got all the game in the world. >> Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the first here. A beautiful Bottle Lake disc golf course Course in the heart of Oahi Christ Church. This is the biggest city in the South Island and one of the biggest events for disc golf in the South Island. Uh we're joined here of course on the MVP discs two and under. And this is the MVP discs for Lake Open NO round one feature card. Three great American players and a Kiwi ledger join us here for this round one action. and we're excited to get the uh the action underway under a great day here at Christ Church. One of the best days of weather we've had all season long in front of a Kiwi crowd. You are watching the MVP discs two and under here on Gothro and now we welcome our players. First, he's from Austin, Texas, having a clip to his first MVP discs two down under win last event at the New Zealand Disc Golf Open in Oakland. Give it up for the Texas Teddy Bear, Bradley Williams. >> Yeah, staying seated till his name was called. That's pretty rare, actually. You don't see that very often. >> Brad took down the last event at 10 under par. got a really good game plan going into the orchard. Knew he didn't have to go low. Just minimized mistakes and made it happen. >> Yeah, some pretty adverse, you know, um, weather conditions over there in Auckland. I think this course in Bottle Lake definitely lends itself to kind of a more attack style. The OB is is present, but it's definitely not as tight as some of the orchard holes. Um, I could see I could see 10 under in one round. >> Next to the tea, he's from Witchita, Kansas. One of the most experienced Tour Down Under players making his 10th Tour Down Under start this week here at Bottle Lake in Christ Church. The front man of Gothro. Give it up for Luke Humphre. >> 10 of them. That is That's more than I would have thought. Yeah, I know. I've missed a couple of events, but I think I can only think of maybe Paradise Plates that first year we came down you missed, but everything else you've played. >> I missed Topah that first year as well. >> Oh, yeah. That's right. >> But I've been here now. This is my third time. So, I'm very familiar with this course. And I did go >> third on this card. He's from Sperry, Oklahoma, and made his MVP discs two in and under debut last week at the New Zealand Open. cut short, but he is back and we're excited to see him in action here in Oatahi Christ Church. Give it up for Matt Bell. >> Matty Bell, scrapper. This is a guy who I like for this course. >> Oh, 100%. Lot of gaps to hit out here. Some I don't know, maybe shorter R5s, I believe, that are definitely attackable. >> Yeah. Yeah. A whole uh whole four is a great eagle opportunity early on in the round and this was well played. A lot of hiser used that right side dead center for Matt. That's a great >> rounding out the action with round one feature card action here at the 2026 MVP discs. Bottle Lake Open. He is a Kiwi legend. A twotime tour down under champion having a clipped to win earlier this season at the opening event in Tatanaki. He's from Invagle and is the highest rated player in the Southern Hemisphere. Give it up for New Zealand's own Levi Stout. >> Sultry intro from Henry for Levi there. >> As always, man, I've enjoyed that. We only get two more of those for a whole year, so we're going to soak them in. >> This is just a natural athlete born to throw frisbes. Makes it look easy when he's doing it. Putts very intuitively. What a line. >> Yeah, he and Brad both going with like I don't know, eye t-irds, >> man. Just stretches it out. Gets it flat. At first it looked like maybe it would out of bounds to the left, but just a beautiful shot. Nice and tidy from that right side. >> Yeah, I clipped the trees going around the corner. Kept me from going into circle one. >> Still got yourself an opportunity on hole number one. And I think that's the name of the game out here at B Lake. You might not always throw the best shot, >> but you give yourself an opportunity. Like we said, Bell, you know, has got >> he's got a killer putt. Like I I think this horse you just got to attack, hit the gaps and make some make some big putts. >> Yep. >> And the routine ones, you know. >> Yep. >> Settle down, please. >> It see. >> Oh yeah. And Bradley, that little putter shot he had dropped perfectly underneath that uh low ceiling. It really defines the entry to this green. You got to make sure and put it on the ground. But you'll see this a lot this week. The ground is perfect for the slide out here. A lot of pine needles, a lot of just dirty hard pack ground. >> Playing a little right to left lift. Didn't get it. I'm okay with that. That's what I was talking about. >> Just that >> beautiful wrist motion >> right on the right in the heart of the basket. >> Brad just like a little bit off tempmpo. Felt like a little quick maybe up through the the zone. I feel like he just didn't finish his stroke almost >> and that's why it landed left of center and pushed out. >> Yep. Couple birds, couple pars on hole one. Did play over par. I think it was just the breeze plus the OB long three paces away from that the green. Any putts missed definitely are scooting out there. So yeah, I I definitely talked to a couple players, asked them how they felt about the course, and I think most everyone I talked to had not played in windy conditions, and this is our third time here. And I know you're familiar with how windy it can get on some of these open holes before you get into the woods. Yep. >> So I think maybe some people are getting their first little taste. Maybe if somebody only got one round or something on this to practice because we had that nice long off week. Like these conditions right here are what I'm used to about a lake. >> Yeah, it's what we we tend to see. makes things a bit tricky. You mentioned going 10 plus being possible. Definitely is. And we saw it the first time we came here. >> Yeah, you got to stay out of trouble. Some of this OB in the woods, if you're not on your line and you get a a poor tree kick, the OB comes up so quick. Some of the tricky mandos like, uh, yeah, got to get off the tea here. These guys really first two T- shots, they know that that OB comes up quick. This right to left wind is going to push everything towards that OB line on the left. Got to keep this thing flat and low. >> So good. >> Little down tempmpo t-ird. Is that that T-ird again? >> Yeah, same one he threw on one. He's got two of them actually that are very similar looking. >> Yeah. I really like the way you're throwing this disc here. You probably have to remind me exactly what it is before because I know what the stamp is, but I can't remember what mold it is. Yeah, it's the bastard stamp, but it's a 750 Glimmer FX3. >> It's very te t-irdy. >> Yeah, good speed for that shot. >> So, >> we had a you had a big off week. I don't know if I'm allowed to say anything, but you had a big off week. And >> yeah, you can >> you know, you you definitely you got married to the love of your life and now >> I feel like you you got a little relaxed. We played some rounds in Hawea. Beautiful course, but >> there's a bit of dust and >> still knocking some dust off from the wedding. >> First shots as a married man. >> Nice on on camera. Loving it. >> Well, cong congratulations and thank you for bringing me along, man. >> Oh, yeah. It was great to have you standing up there with me, Paul. >> Is that the takapoo or is he throwing something that's kind of tight, I think. Yeah, >> I believe it is uh a takapoo. Yeah. And and it was tight. The OB left is the the ultimate miss. >> Yeah. And and this part right here, I feel like has the it has the wind, but it's not super consistent. These flags kind of left of Bradley that we can't see, and then the ones up at the basket just seem to be doing something different. And that was a well read shot there. >> Yeah. >> From a very composed gentleman. >> Yeah. Beautiful shot. This is u this is a sketchy decision on second hole of a tournament. >> Whoa. Yeah. Okay. I thought you were almost like looking at throwing through that tree. Sketchy decision, but well executed, my man. >> That M5 is so good. One of the new discs from in the Prodigy lineup. >> So much glide on that mid-range. Definitely recommend to people looking to get a little extra distance out of a mid. >> Where is Bell here, >> dude? Around the back. He threw the big high Annheiser, fought through the first one, and got behind the second one. So, he literally had nothing. This was about as good as he could do. No string over there, nothing. He just >> No, no, the string's interesting. Comes to the tree right there in front of us and then it goes at 90s from that tree. So, Bell's in a safe spot and uncharacteristic. Bradley Williams missing two inside the circle. Two within 25 ft. I'd say >> the body told me a lot there. I don't know. He just almost stiff or something. A little jabby. I'm not, you know, not going to get too much into it, but it just didn't. >> Do you ever think that like that first miss makes you do things the rest of the round that you wouldn't have done if otherwise had missed somewhere else or had made the putt? Like that first miss sometimes defines the way that you view your putt for the rest of the >> you can't ignore it. >> I mean, it's definitely you bang a big one on one, you're ready to roll the rest of the day. That first one doesn't drop and now you're making adjustments. >> Yeah, cuz Bradley misses high left then misses low. So, we've got two different ones going on. I missed right there as well. Not the best show to start off. We have a nice gallery, too. >> A beautiful gallery. >> It was Yeah, it was amazing. Really here in Christ Church. Uh big shout out to all the fans and people that came out. It was a holiday actually. >> Wangi Day. >> Wangi Day. >> Yeah, >> pretty fun. So, yeah, the crowd is still waiting to see good shots. Hopefully, we can help them out. I think this is one where some of our players can settle in. 358 is a decent forehand shot, but all the players here have it in in the wheelhouse. >> Yeah, Levi, student of the game, keeps on getting better at the forehand. That one edges circle short. Good shot, Bradley. Go. That bird skips off of the ties. That's a little unfortunate. Going to be circle's edge as well. >> This is a tricky >> spot to land a disc. Just a bit of an elevated basket. Not too crazy. It's It's super sandy around there. So that skip that Bradley got was kind of >> unlucky. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It was low though out of the hand. It wasn't like a high, you know, >> trying to keep it out of the wind and maybe hit some of the wood chips or something. >> Yeah, that's the height you like to see, but that's definitely right of the basket. hit some sand chills. That was the syninnapse from Matt and he is parked. >> Not your favorite putt to have on hole three after the first two putts, but >> no, you know it, >> man. Look at this guy though. The free flowing wrist, the comfort that he is feeling. >> Isaac Robinsonesque. Love to see it. And it doesn't take much time, too. When you're playing with him, it's such a joy to watch somebody walk up and want to make a putt and then execute quickly. not watch somebody drag it out. >> I'm really hoping he brings this over to the States. >> It's tough to win. That's what I'm looking for. >> Yeah. Yep. Good boys are settling in. >> You know, I think Levi has definitely been he's been watched for a while here in New Zealand. >> Everyone knows him as the man and it's going to be tough to not win right away in the States. But I think if he's diligent and sticks with it and doesn't get discouraged easily, he can really really make his way over there on tour. >> No, he really could. I I could also see him popping off as well. It It reminded me of a Curtis Strange interview with Tiger Woods as you were talking right there when Curtis is like, "Well, second's not too bad sometimes." Tiger's like, "Well, I want to win. >> You got to chill out, boy." But then come to find out he was the goat, >> right? >> That could be Levi. Short par five coming up. This one can be eagled and almost assuredly is getting eagled by somebody on the NO field. Starts with a good forehand. I think ideally gets you to the best position, but a mid-range sets up the easy birdie. You're shaking your head. >> I seen I seen an eagle on this one today by my man Mr. Francis Orange. And he dropped a really nice backhand that pushes this back line and really opens up a better line. This is tricky because he's got stuck on these two trees. But >> if you don't push your shot far enough, you're kind of just playing for birdie. Unless you want to get crazy with the roller or something. Yeah, >> you really want to kind of press it towards this back wall as you're turning it because then that really opens up a nice forehand angle, I think, is what Francis took into the green. I mean, I didn't see what he did, but I watched his disc miss every tree and get up there almost into bullseye for the three. >> Yeah, it was a pathfinder from Matt. I'm going with uh my signature D3 from 25 season. >> This is what I'm talking about right here. >> Yeah. >> I don't know how you got if you got styied with anything there, but I think you have a great angle from there to make something happened for the Eagle. >> I got decisions. >> There's some tricky OB on the right side once you pass this Mando on the right that everyone has navigated very well. >> Yep. >> Yep. That's got the distance. >> Beautiful mid-range shot there. I still think like if Bradley pushes another 25, he's going to open up his possibilities a lot more. >> Bell going with that synapse again. >> Oo, that thing was going to keep going. >> Was going to get him to a putt. Luckily, it dropped right there in the middle. And from there, it's it's almost impossible to mess it up. It's a very easy hole if you play it properly, which Levi is choosing to do, too. Little patent pending putter to get 175 ft up. set him up for another really simple up and down. Bradley has that straight shot. You're looking at the basket right there. Choosing not to go over the out of bounds, though. Going around the side. Has to have gotten a little lucky through that gap. Trying to push it a little left of that, but ends up with an eagle putt. >> Yeah, definitely has an unobstructed putt for the eagle. It's nice. >> I'm deciding to go over the OB. Just straight at it. Gold A5 right to left wind. >> This is a comfortable line for you. Ah. Definitely need to keep it a bit lower, but it looks like you had >> it was sketch. >> It It was a straight shot. Definitely could have worked out, but it it was a little sketchy and I kind of bailed on it. There's a little recoil. >> Got to commit to those lines, especially when you're hitting gaps. >> I I learned the hard way today that like you you have your nice line right in front of you. And if you release that line just disappears in these pines about 10 12 feet up, I don't know, maybe a little higher. But you have to keep the height control on these shots. >> This is a Twizzler fest. >> Twizzler fest. Less Twizzlers if you control the height. Oh, Bradley Williams didn't get misses inside the circle on one, inside the circle on two, just outside on three, and decides to can a 60footer for Eagle to start his day. >> Those first two were shorter. That one was like a I got a full commit to even get this thing near the basket, so maybe that helped. >> Yeah, definitely could have. Either way, you pick up a couple on everybody when you do that. Yeah, >> nice eagle from him. >> Making these birdies. >> There was a little >> one other guy that got it. You mentioned him, Francis Orange. Nice Eagles, boys. Pick one up at prodigy.com/gthrow or via the link in the description. As always guys, we appreciate the support right here on Gothrow. We're headed into hole five. This is kind of a change of pace hole. It's a tight gap. It's a low ceiling gap. And it kind of it forces you to throw it long. And if you do, you end up in that little penalty zone. >> Yep. This hole is your full introduction to what you're about to be playing for the next 12 holes. >> Truly, they find a way to make some of these holes very difficult while still being fairly short. >> Bradley figured out how to make it super duper easy. >> Yeah. Well, I mean, circle's edge here is a kind of a hard putt. >> Yeah. What is this? Circle's edge. Okay. But the the height of the shot here using the pine needle ground play. >> Dude, look at this Kia shot. >> That's the Kia. I love how he just comes over it barely. >> Yep. >> Just a small little batch of hazard OB right behind the basket. Speed control, height control. This is a mel Matt Bell hole right here. >> Yeah. Yeah, he went with a pretty glidey disc. That's a Luna. >> Ends up going a little long. >> Tricky little limb putt over there maybe, but still an opportunity. >> Totally >> with the tailwind, it looks like. >> Yeah, we got the head right to left. So, I I'm stabling up to the MX1. Trying to put this on a little annheiser and get it a bit higher than I want. >> Almost a ace run. >> It was an ace run. >> Whoa, baby. >> That's hilarious. I asked the dude what happened. He's like, it skipped back there. Like, it didn't roll or anything. Nope. Full skip. Like, okay. So, I'm like 60 long. >> You should have been like, "You threw it too hard, bud." You walk up and you're like 60 long on a hole and your disc is over on its back. >> No. The ultimate miss. It's not uh he was looking for a good putt there. >> It happens quick, man. Berdogi. I mean, you said it. C1 putt from there was >> not your favorite. >> No. >> Um I don't know. You know, he s he just hit that big one, but the C1 putts are not >> Mhm. >> super comfortable for >> coming off a win. I wonder if he got back in the the workshop and tried to do a little something in the off week. Or maybe he like us >> played around in the lake, had a little fun climbing mountains. >> I mean, they were at Bob's Cove. That place is incredible. I'm sure. >> Yeah. They played some golf. I'm sure they were next to Queenstown Gardens. Just a beautiful course. >> Below. Yeah, he had that tricky limput over there. >> Yeah, it's one of the things that when we come down here, we get bam, bam, bam. Three tournaments in a row with big travel times in between them when we finally get this off week to explore New Zealand and have a little fun. And it's definitely what we end up doing. Golf suffers a little bit, but uh it's all worth it. we get some content out of it for you guys as well during those cold cold months over there in the states. >> Yeah, making some memories on the off weeks. You know, sometimes golf's not as crisp when you get back. Cream always rises to the top. >> Yeah, good play from Levi going low flip up hiser. I think that is the play. We saw Germ going forehand at it last year. You're just trying to do a little too much there. >> I like I'm going to use a slower disc tomorrow. I don't know how you feel about that, >> dude. Belle threw the first and only straight shot this hole's ever seen. It just flipped it up all the way straight. >> Yeah, I you have to do it quick cuz that right side, if you end up on the right side on this hole, you are in jail. Left side, there's no way you get to the OB with this. I like this moving left. It really opens up your options. >> Yeah, I mean I I whizzed by a couple trees. I like it too, >> bro. There's a lot of trees out here. Sometimes you got to whiz by one, put on one, whatever. >> This is the proper play. This is literally how you should play the hole mid-range to right there. >> Putter up to the green through this right side hallway, >> but you can't get a eagle if you do that. >> You can't We've never seen one of those on coverage on this hole, but people do get it from time to time. It is only 384 ft. >> Yeah, you're right, though. That's the golf play, and it's smart. You're not going to, like I said, that right side, like you got to you got to be a scrambling man over there. The left side definitely has more options. This looks like it's a Toro, so it's >> Yeah. >> thrown perfectly. >> Yep. >> Look like he pulled it. I mean, >> a little short. I mean, we've seen that's been kind of that questionable range from Bradley. So, I >> wait and see that one go in. >> Yeah. Touche with that OB like ultra close behind the basket. That puck could could definitely have some nerves behind it. >> There's a good chance Bale didn't know about that OB either. I said slow down as he threw it and uh he kind of made a reaction like slow down for what? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, the line is off that that bramble bush. >> It's also twine. It's It's impossible to see until you're there. >> All right. I think he got a practice round yesterday, but good puff from Bradley. >> Yeah, >> get back on track after that boge on the last hole. >> It's got to feel good. I don't know. That burn that that bogey could still be burning. >> Oh, no. It's still burning. But that still felt good. Both things could be true. >> That is burning right there. >> That's probably burning a little bit. It's an easy easyish hole. Definitely want to pick the birdie up here. Levi going four straight. Four of five or excuse me, five of six so far. Hot start from him. Getting a chance at another par five that we have seen Eagles on as well. This one definitely tougher though. Yeah, the wind is really coming up this this gap that you got to hit straight off the tea and there's some definite like tie on that left. You can't let this thing leak to the left. But um I mean most of our players have the distance to eagle this hole. You just got to put yourself in a good position off the tea. After two shots, if you're still forced to go right of that tree over the bunker, it definitely gets sketchy though. You want to be in a position on the left side for your third shot so that you can throw it straight, not have to worry about going over that crazy little bunker. >> Yeah, Levi giving that one a little little more tug to the right than he wanted, but getting away with it. See how you fare. >> I tugged it as well. I didn't hit the tree to straighten my disc out. >> Ouch. >> I'm in bounds, but I'm not in a good position. >> I mean, honestly, birdie's still in play. You got to work a little harder maybe on that third shot, but >> totally. Yeah, >> you guys both hit the gap. This gap's kind of daunting. You're just trying to hit it with a lot of power >> and it's not like the super tight that you go full control on. It's wide enough to where you are trying to add that power and trying to get up the fairway. >> So, like Levi's disc came back, yours came back. What were you guys feeling windwise? >> Felt like a right to left head. Yeah, >> we thought once we got our discs turned over, it kind of forced them to hold a little bit longer than they would have. Matt Bell just throwing it out there to the left. That is a great play. Ends up being a straighter second shot and lots of times you're not trying to bite off the full distance. >> Yeah, this is a weird >> spot. He's got plenty of distance. Way to push that right side tree wall. That was so good. That that right OB. Like if he just leaves that straight, he's going to find that right OB, but it really opens up past that last tree on the left. There is some OB over there, but it's way over there. There's a bunch of soft sand. You're not going to get a crazy skip. Don't do too much here, >> dude. I did a little too much. I kind of thought I was going to get a better skip. >> Yeah, >> I got a sand out skip that leaves me behind that tree almost assuredly keeping me from getting the bird. >> Not as many pine needles out here, bud. There's not as many trees out here, >> Bradley. That was kind of aggressive. >> It was hyper aggressive. >> Hyper aggressive. I was going to say that. >> Yeah, he was going with destroyer. That was going for the green >> and and he was trying to thread a super flexy line towards that red flag there. The basket's only about 25 ft left of it. >> Yeah. I mean, he still needed to bite something off there, but I think like you said, that was that was a bit hyperaggressive. >> Half of his disc was inbounds. >> Could have worked. almost almost went out of bounds and was nearly double penalized there. >> That thing kicked like 50 60 feet over. So, I've got not much. I have to go super wide. The ceiling creeps up on me, so I don't have a ton of options. And >> yeah, I mean, >> it's about as good as I could do, really. >> But the second shot definitely took your your >> I didn't need to throw it out. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Maybe a slower disc, too, cuz I mean, >> totally. It almost look like you were trying to get it to the basket, which isn't a bad idea. Just >> kind of put yourself over that under by that tree. Kind of under by it. >> Yeah. I had to throw that forehand from behind the tree at like one foot high. >> Yeah. >> So, it was already awkward and I juiced it. That's what happened. People, we're moving on. >> Taka poop. >> Got to clear. >> Oh, he knows it. Ah, both Bradley and Levi Stout finding that little bunker. Luckily, they kind of slid up. They're almost in Bullseye, >> just outside Bullseye. Bell now. The only person with a birdie op. It's going to be a 25-footer. >> Looking at that bunker. >> Trying to find a way to give this a little bid. >> Still not giving up. >> No, no, no, no. If you Yeah. I mean, if you're playing on the pro tour, you got to figure out a way to make things from 80 ft. >> Yeah. >> You know. >> Oh, there it is. Oh, okay. He wasn't straight at the bunker. >> That was the headwind. Now he's got the tail. >> Nose down. Cruises in there. >> Still the par. He knows the birdie was right there. That upshot just needed to be a bit more tidy. >> You don't see people in better positions after too much. Yeah, he was dead center. He was perfect. That does feel like a lost stroke there, but he's picking up a stroke right here on Bradley who's having a bit of a roller coaster, >> jumping all around here. >> Yeah, if his putt was on, man, that thing would be lit up with green on his scorecard. >> Yeah, I mean, hole one and two would be obvious, birdies. Those were short misses and >> it's not. But like, you know, >> Yeah. >> I don't feel like he's like spraying shots or anything like that. >> He's throwing it good. >> Yeah. Hole eight, man. I saw some crazy stuff on this today. I'm curious how aggressive the card is going to get here. You don't really need to bite off too much with the OB kind of long and left of the gap access point. Yeah. Into the green. >> The peninsula. >> I like I think this is the T-Ird maybe through on hole one. >> Yep. >> The peninsula. That's a little early and could find some pine. Push it out. >> It does. >> Okay. getting that kiwi love. >> Yeah, as you know from a couple catch sessions, those those things are thick. >> Yeah, we got some lost catch discs up in the trees here in New Zealand. >> Bit of a sandy slip. Pull it a bit, but going to stay out of that tree. That's a good spot to be. >> I'm down there a little left. Yeah. >> Um but there's a ton of little gaps on the sides of that entry. You have to clear the OB going with those gaps, but lots of times they're more pure. I honestly think the purest gap is on that left side. >> Matt going the distance trying to push himself up on this gap making this second shot a lot easier. >> Dude, you don't see him done much better. He's about 35 40 ft off of that OB line. >> Yeah, I couldn't tell what like what ceiling he would be looking at there, but it looks like he's good. >> And that was the I just took a bogey toaster later. One upper. Yeah, he's only about two, three paces off the OB line. >> Yeah, Cory on my card actually put it through the gap >> in the neck >> and had a long putt and and uh skipped off the right side of the top of the the cage like almost to it. >> Oh, that dirty dog. I didn't know he did it like that. That was straight through the wickets. But >> Kotuku in >> uh I believe so. And that couldn't have been the intended line. >> Could not have. There's no way. Well, did he have a like a little smirk after it happened? >> No, in real time, I looked over at him cuz I didn't have the angle and I and I just saw the side view and it went perfectly through everything and he didn't act like he got super lucky then. >> He's got that little smirk when something happens that shouldn't have. >> He does. He does. He played that one off. Bell going with that over the OB skip play which I do like from the left side. Yeah, just getting stymied by those last trees to be. Bradley finding a bit of contact on him, too. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, both still have opportunities here. Bell a great C2 putter. >> Little low a couple different times. He is dealing with a a bit of a hip injury at the moment. Wow. >> We had a tailwind I just had thrown and it was just blowing tail and somehow it doesn't drop my disc. That one. That's the best feeling miss I've had in a while. >> Work with it. >> Bradley's canned a bunch of really nice putts today and then Yeah. uncharacteristic on some other ones. He's he's kind of all over the place, but >> the roller coaster continues. It >> was a unique putt, too. Like he really wristed it to flat. >> Yeah. low spin, dropped it in. >> Totally. >> Feel like he's been like maybe more hiser puttering like or recently. I don't know. I digress. >> No, I mean he he's definitely one of the guys that can switch up his style a little bit being, you know, so fluent in the in the wind conditions as well. So, here we go. Last hole on the front nine. It's one we need to get. >> Yeah, it is. And it's one that you have to be very specific with your line because anything that's veering off that OB on the left I've seen I mean it's just so tight over there. You want to keep this one low kind of slide it up there. Yeah. Again just a nice little change of pace hole. Just were throwing very hard off of the key box. Now you get to this one where you got to use the touch and slide it up on that pine straw. Takapoo there from Mr. Stoutley. >> Bradley talking smack to himself off of the box as he parks the hole. >> Going to get away with it. >> Straddling the bullseye. >> Got to settle in. >> This is Hogan's first time on coverage. First time being thrown in a tournament. First run good boy with Hogan's ashes in it. >> He's been thrown a lot. So I I got to think it's like perfect. Like he's perfect for this course right now. He's like >> not just like broken in, but like he's been seasoned a bit by the new New Zealand landscape. We've been tossing him around a bit and >> yeah, >> it look like a nice flight for Hogy there. >> He's enjoying his time. First run. Good boys. The They're coming out February 19th is when you guys will be able to grab them. Dealers are starting to get them already. So you can check out prodigydisk.com or wherever you get your frisbees. Good boys putt better. >> Those are the opportunities I'm talking about out here at Vada Lake. Like you may not throw the best shot, but if your putt is on, you can just rack up the birdies from anywhere. Yep. Little more pace than I would have liked to seen. No. >> Yeah. Perdogi. >> H. >> Odd. >> Yeah. Uncharacteristic. >> Yeah. He hit 40footer on one, 45 footer on three. Putts looking good. >> Don't know what he was thinking about there, but um he did say that he's done a couple different things to clean up his mechanics. He had a little hitch that he took out over the offseason, so he's he's working on some stuff, and sometimes that happens when you're working on stuff. Yeah, I've been following him on Instagram, watching all of his tutorials, learning better disc golf and stuff from >> Yeah, I mean, if he drains that one there, he's six through the front nine. Bogey free. Unfortunate blemish on the green. Takes him back to five. He's still leading the card by two as we see Bell just going on a straight up par streak there to finish. >> Yeah, that would have put Lee at seven. >> Excuse me. >> If he would have hit that birdie. So, I mean, rolling. >> Yeah, that was bad math. >> No, it's all good. Jacob finding a little something in the front 12. >> I think he got third place last week. Second. Second or third place. >> Yeah, he played some solid golf at the >> there in Auckland. Yeah. And then we got Sergey Sennon. I'm not sure exactly how to say that last name, but a tennis player apparently 958 rated. Got a lot of game. And this is kind of a course that you could see somebody in the 960s, 970s, 80s playing pretty good. They're not holes that are unreachable. Every single one of them is birdieable by a bunch of this field. >> Yeah. And he's a local, so I mean he gets reps on the course. >> There you go. All right. Front nine is done and in the books. The 2026 MVP discs bottle lake open. The second event that is going to be offering points for the Gothro tour. And that is the front nine guys. What a great crowd we had out there. A beautiful day as well. A bunch of birdies on the back nine. A bunch of gaps to hit as well. So don't go anywhere. Come join us for Tall Paul Omen. I'm Luke Humphre. We'll catch you there.
