what is up everybody we are back at you with some more disc-off coverage we are out here in Clarendon Texas for the West Texas experience my name is Gabriel down I'm here with Bobby Cox how's it going everyone this tournament is sponsored by legit disc golf they had some pretty sweet bands out and the other name was sick yeah this round got Kota Hatfield back with us we got Addison Collins who is a legit star boy yes sir we got Brandon Carter from storm disc off and we got Emerson Keith back on the card as well he is sponsored by latitude 64 so getting straight into it hole 1 this is a par 3 it is 315 feet it carries pretty far uphill the baskets tucked behind these two trees here most of these guys are going to be either throwing a dead straight fairway driver to mid-range and try and hit that male gap between the trees or you can take a big spike forehand around the left side of the tree depending on the wind there is also a spike hyzer line as well okay looks like ko is going with the middle and he didn't quite get the flip that he wanted on that one and he's gonna be underneath that tree there that's gonna be a difficult lie here we got Addison left you love it's always nice having a lefty on the card oh yeah you see some new lines and that's gonna be pin high on that left side about circles edge and Brandon just pulling that one right into that tree just be laying up and taking a par yeah that's a pretty tight gap for starting hold around or really the whole tournament yeah we got Emerson Keith the Texas armadillo putting it right up there and that birdie yeah definitely Brandon pretty nice shop he's still got about 20 or 25 feet left up hill so yeah maybe even longer than that yeah no no and Cotto leaving his upshot a little bit short as well I had a sin just a little bit left side first part of the day and Brandon's gonna be taking a bogey on this first hole ya know what you want yeah that's really unfortunate what was the weather like this heart is well it was really nice actually it was it wasn't super windy in the morning and it was the temperature was nice so it was a solid like 75 degrees well that sounds part but it gets pretty hot here later in the day I thought you guys were telling me I had to miss this a bachelor party so this is a brand new course to me yeah and Brandon with the unfortunate bogey yeah Emerson with the rare miss as well yeah he'd be tapping in for a poor two pars and 2 bogeys on this hole that is so surprising Gus is birdie all day yeah absolutely whole - this is a par 3 it is 255 feet and as you can see you have this road here there is no OB here you're really just throwing a hyzer with an overstable midrange or fairway driver whatever you're comfortable with as long as something finishes left because the basket is tucked around the hill to the left as you can see this is a musket birdie for these guys how does sin thrown out a nice looking shot and he ended up pretty pretty oh wow yeah I like 70 yeah and this first round I forgot to mention we are playing from the short Pat's there are red and blue pads we are playing from the Reds this round and then second and third round will be from the blue pads okay so amber sent down that trustee justice getting it about 25 by like 10 15 feet actually yeah and Kota puts it right there as well looks like his Explorer he throws that a lot just about every shot yeah he loves that thing and he does it so well yeah that in his blister pros are definitely his go-to drivers yeah how does sand trying to make the long birdie and just a little bit too low but it was really good run Brandon had the height just a little bit right yep there he is and we're sent a bird though that will move him to 1-under par hand code it's happening the birdie as well that will move him back to even so this is kinda like a birdie or die kind of course the reds are are sure the lungs are a little more difficult yeah oka yeah that's funny last tournament we filmed we were filming these party baskets the exact same yeah abnormal foam literally the exact same baskets yeah this this course is very much like Duncan in regards to elevation because there's a lot of hills a lot of the shots are you know downhill or uphill so it's pretty cool yeah just not quite quite the amount of trees and ya know near hole 3 this is a part 3 it is 307 feet it is downhill so it plays more like 250 honestly you can really just pop a forehand out there on the left side you want the angle pretty sharp to hit the ground and not take that much skip but Emerson has sought that off just a little bit there is also a little hyzer line as well which we see Khoda taking here yes and he's feel a bit sneaky but not quite getting to low enough yeah he's gonna be a little short there but that is a putt we got addison this is a great lefty line but it looks like he solved that one off a little bit and he's gonna happen outside the circle putt for his to here we got Brandon this was looking real nice kind of took a weird game on her skip it's about 20 25 feet up though yeah Addison just laying up there we've got Emerson for two just a little bit on the left side coat is a little bit more obstructed than I thought having the highs around this tree which can kind of get in your head even if you like you have the rent for it it's still getting ahead and you have to you'll have to but you see it seems like you play it more to the right than you share you're really just trust in that dish exactly like you gotta have something stable but there is like nothing worse than like hitting a tree on your putt within like like in the circle yeah or right in front of your face all right and we're sitting with a par side we got code it's happen in the par as well Addison doing the same thing yeah and Coda's one I think was it two or three tournaments in a row going use a star he's won the last two tournaments he's played so plus like a couple more this year yeah yeah you're playing good this year yep hold forward this is a par three it is 278 feet the bass like the fairway itself is not that difficult but once you get up to the basket you have a lot of guardian trees in front of the basket and then behind the basket you have a extremely downhill slope so you're trying to play this early and just kind of hope you hit one of those bunches of trees just kind of shove it in there yes I think you lie Brandon's going with the hyzer line yeah that's yeah that's that's the difficult thing about the hyzer line is there's those bushes on entries on the right side that stand pretty tall so you have to avoid those I don't know I prefer the forehand play on this one just because the lines washer get up to the green yeah you can at least throw it up there and hope to hit one of those trees near the basket and Coda's going for that hydra line as well he actually ends up deep he's gonna have a pretty long uphill putt for his - nice hole for a lefty and ice that might be a little a little bit obstructed I can't quite tell how a line that is with the trees but it's it's pretty pretty short and he is gonna have a line of trees in his way he's gonna have a tricky putt this is Cota for the - yeah I just held onto that a little bit too long yeah it'll be toughening for three I got had a sin yeah and you can't really tell from that angle but that tree on the right side really came into play there Emerson found a gap but couldn't quite execute yeah it's kind of rare for seeing air ball from Emerson like that yeah that this little but absent makes good for the par yeah Kota for the tar as well they will stay at even man it's so weird how it's not like 2 & 3 unders right now yeah I mean I mean these holes aren't that difficult especially from the Reds you know I always just kind of blame it on us you know whenever you got some cameras shoved in your face sometimes people kind of giggle bit nervous yeah I never got to kind of calm down those camera nerves hey don't look at it just play golf yeah hole 5 this is a par 3 it is 470 feet the tee there is a line of trees that you have to there's a little gap that you have to hit you're really just playing this one for three you're thrown a big Heiser out you want to end up on this left side it leaves you with a little bit of a better look because that right side as you can see there is a bunch of trees and it's just hard to get around those so looks like left side is ideal Brandon throws out a nice shot and that's easy gonna have her yeah easy par and that's all you need on this hole Emerson opting for the forehand yeah he's trying to get super aggressive looks like yeah it's got a little bit too high yeah those big like flex forehand shots are really hard to like get the angle perfectly right yeah you know the exit the angle and the disc you have to get the perfect disc got the perfect angle and it's very win sensitive as well yeah it is Kota this is gonna be on that right side as well but he got far enough up there to where his upshot shouldn't be too difficult Addison throwing out a big flex shot if that can pan out that is money man I wanted to see that flex back yeah that got a little bit more flex he would have had a putt for - yeah absolutely this is no easy upshot of this is why I was saying you want to be on that left side which makes it a little easier but no problem for Emerson Keith should be able to make that putt I've sinned with a perfect up shot there yeah coder looks close that's where he can just got punched at the room yeah that's an easy layup for him and he will make par from there this is Emerson's a little bit further than I thought he was oh hey what is going on with him just a little bit too high I thought that was gonna be too high but yeah a wind drop their help and Emerson's gonna be taken of four is it just me or is like up shots from like within like 200 whenever it's like a wide open field they're way harder to me then if there's trees like I need any points right now I I definitely agree with that I mean I prefer tight wooded courses myself just because of that fact forced out of line and you know exactly what you either hitting it or you're not oh yeah it's simple hole six this is a par three it's 462 feet so it's pretty long off the tee the fairway is pretty open but as you can see about a hundred feet in front of the basket it just gets nasty here so most of these guys are really just gonna even be playing a big hyzer around the right side maybe take a skip off the road or throwing a just a dead straight shot to end up in that ditch before the basket and the crash is a paid up that this we've got no skip yeah the grass was a little tall and code is gonna go for that Heiser around the right side and he ends up right there on the right side didn't quite get any skip up to the basket but he'll be pitching up for three you might have a look for two from there is that Roe Toby it is not Oh golly yeah or actually I think the roads OB but if you go right up the road it's not OB so it's just on the road because I remember seeing players play from the top of the hill but I do want to say the road is OB okay this is like a pretty touchy touchy shot with the drop off on the basket yeah there's baskets on the mound and there is drop-offs all around it Addison laying up for the three Emerson didn't quite put enough juice on that one oh that cage ha code huh almost threw it in with a little forehand flick it looked almost identical to the Emerson's putt I almost thought it was if we like messed up on the editing and we put a double in right I did too and here is out of sin for his three that's crazy everyone sitting I even right now yeah and the holes have not been difficult hmm at all should go start getting to go in later on this round yeah Emerson clean up his par you'll stay at even got Kota doing the same thing this one's a bonus party for sure no yeah offers better even even from the red pad that's a bonus how much farther is the long pad hey it's a long okay I want to say the long pads like 700 oh my god it's yeah it's you're shooting from up the hill it's it's pretty cool though hole 7 this is a par 3 this does play as an island it is marked off you can go deeper the basket it's just in front of it into the right of it that you have to avoid so this is the play right here you're just throwing a big spike hyzer you can also throw a forehand but it does kind of challenge that road on the right side so you have to put it a little bit more wide than you'd like but yeah the Heiser plays definitely the preferred route here Nakota make the island there he did he's just pretty short of the basket though it'll be a long look for two this is looking nice about ten short yeah never sent hopping for that forehand one of the more effortless looking for hands on on tour and now to work that will birdie right there in a little Side Story Kota actually got bit by a rattlesnake during his practice round on his shoe what yeah he said he was walking bilateral snow rattlesnake he was walking by her finishing up Hilton was walking to the next hole and it came out of the grass and straight just sniped him in a shoe okay I couldn't even imagine my reaction if the hi might you might see like the fastest forty time of all time if you if that happened to me I'd be gone yes I might be back in Tulsa yes take the truck and drive away all right Kota cleaned up the par there everyone else birding all right one the ball one all right hole eight this is a par 3 it is 375 feet it plays straight and then the basket or the yeah the baskets tucked like one left yeah it's it's a huge dogleg left so you're really just throwing a massive spike hyzer you want to get a good amount of distance on it and a good amount of height to give it enough room to get left but you do also have to be careful of going too far left because the water is right behind the basket so this is a pretty touchy hyzer shot yeah if you go for that at the right angle if you go for the high one or the Heiser I feel like a little bit of gust of wind and you might be sowing into the water yeah and Brandon put out a nice shot there he will have outside the circle putt but that's a good look well I think this beef yeah it's very stable and that's a common thing you see on this hole it's just going a little bit too deep and not carrying enough left Emerson looks like he's corrected on Edison's throw as a look yeah that's a little he's still gonna be outside the circle there this one's so hard to get inside the circle just because you have to throw only 375 is no slouch in general and then you gotta get it that far laughs yeah I can see it doing a little bit difficult oh yeah encoder with the best shot of the bunch he's gonna be about circles edge Madison just laying up and Emerson I mean usually ever since hitting some kind of metal at least from the distance Brandon not enough juice on that one this is Kota for the lone birdie and to keep pace with the card the SATA that did stay in okay thank God Emerson stayed in as well Emerson stayed in as well so good come backer yep he will stay at 1-under and this is kotas comeback her for par yeah one thing I've noticed with Koda this year is his putting has improved so much yeah he's just so consistent yeah he's been killing it yeah where was he last weekend my goodness yeah I can't help y'all y'all do I know he won yeah cuz I saw on Facebook yeah oh is Henrietta oh yeah yeah brand-new quarter there's like three two recourse thing over there now yeah the whole nine this is a par three it is three hundred and ninety five feet it's pretty open almost these guys are gonna be throwing a big flex shot or you can take a big Heiser on the right side if you have some good distance with the forehand you can go on the left side as well yeah this looks pretty uphill yeah it is very uphill so you want to get the right height on it and Brendan didn't quite do that he's gonna be pretty well short but will be able to lay up for three and this is a great lefty hole yeah he just couldn't quite get it to ride flat long enough yeah started to Heiser out Emerson taking the back door yeah that's turning a little bit too much and he's gonna be up on that hill it's gonna have an interesting look for his - yeah Kota this is roller central you know I think before it's tournaments whenever were filming them I think he just says himself like I have to pull out random roller in some point this round right he's so good at it what a holdout that no one expects right yeah I was I was not expecting to throw a roller just cuz the grass was so tall right I'm I'm shocked that it even went that far without all the grass was yeah that would have curled up right a little baby money yeah I mean the grass wasn't like ridiculously tall obviously it looks very thick so yes it's tall enough and thick enough to where you'd think it stopped a roller but a coda ended up about 8090 feet deep geez he went way deep this is Emerson from down there and he'll be just happen in the three this is out of soon here we go for the par just barely sneaks in there yeah Emerson cleaning up the par as well I always loved disc golf courses that I could ride on legs it makes the vibe just so much better yeah you see a bunch of campers out there oh yeah there were there's campers these are like there's a trailer park out there there's a lot of people living on the lake cool yeah but that's going to conclude the front nine of our coverage of the West Texas experience so far a pretty slow start from these guys Emerson Brandon and Addison leading the pack at 1-under par we got Cota behind them at even hopefully we can see these guys turn it around and ignite those fires and get it going yeah absolutely yeah after you guys enjoyed mushy that like and subscribe it helps out a lot you can check us out on Instagram Twitter and Facebook and we'll see you guys for the back nine
