Hello and welcome to the back nine of round two of the 2026 Grippy Q44th Kansas City Wide Open presented by Nexus Disc Golf. We're in Liberty, Missouri at Bad Rock Creek Disc Golf Course. I'm Erikica Stingcom. >> I'm Madison Walker. We're your two hot keys. Honk watching some clean golf from Henna who is five down with one bogey through the front nine. The best round we saw yesterday was six. So she's on a heater uh five strokes ahead of the rest of the field. On Skoggins, Eveina Solinin are that five strokes back. Silva Sarinin um having a little bit more trouble than we're used to seeing is sliding down to about ninth. A few ladies on chase card are moving. Missy Ganon, Jen Allen having some really nice shots out there. Yeah, this is a weird course because it in theoretic well theoretically it's an easy course. The shots are all out there. We all know we have them, but it can be really really punishing. And this is a good example of that. Uh whole 10, there's out- of-bounds everywhere. And if you go out of bounds, sometimes your second shot can be blocked and then on top of that we have an elevated basket and on top of that we have whatever wind it decides to be that day. So yes, it's one that everyone in the field can reach. It's at 336. It's pretty flat. Uh, but it's also one that you can stack OB strokes quickly. Eveina playing some really solid golf. Just struggling on the putting green today. Maybe just having an off day. Um, it's crazy how the wind can really get into your head. Um, >> but she's throwing the discs so well. >> So, well, uh, this one played as like what the second easiest yesterday, which is a bit surprising. Yes. >> Um, cuz it's it's not a gimme as Mad said. You see Owen who's, you know, a great throw over that is still finding herself outside the circle. Um Henna going to have a longer look as Oh, it's OB. >> Wow, that just trickles. Obi, >> dang. Circle's edge. She's going to have a tester for her par. >> Yeah, yesterday maybe less people decided to go for it. It was a lot more harsh of a wind. It was a headwind. Today, left to right and it was kind of off and on. So, we'll see more players trying to go for it and successfully making it today. Eveina going to be inside the circle thankfully with a bit of a tailwind for her birdie putt. Silva with lots of birdies, but a couple of bigger numbers. This is a nice looking shot. Swing it. Yeah, she'll be inside the circle looking at a birdie. Henna for her par save at Circle's Edge. She's on one. >> Yes. >> And it looks like she's just continue. It's like no time has passed since last week. She's just still in it. So cool. >> Own. Not always the most comfortable on elevated pins. I finally remember after Matt has told me probably 16 different times. No, no, wait. No, >> that is a dramatic reveal. Really strong camera work and editing. Oh boy. Nightmare. >> I wasn't wanting an example of how OB strokes can stack up on this whole. I >> don't Eveina just like fully in the throws of putting woes but a nice comebacker. >> All the relief and keeping it clean, which is important. Staying in it, putting herself in position. It's all you can do, >> man. And Silva just stacking up doubles. Relatable. Came to America, got a double double. Oh god. It's what we're known for. She will feel the effects of that later. Greasy. Hole 11's a par three. This is the one we saw Missy Birdie by taking the hiser route. This used to be the only route through these trees before they cleared the right side, but it is very very skinny and punishing with that left side OB. So, you're going to see a lot of the hiser play. Um, this green is uh pretty tough. That hill is bigger than it looks. You see a lot of rollaways on this one. It's often quite a windy green as well. >> Today, a very inconsistently windy green. Yeah, calm sometimes, gusting wind other times, switching directions. It was wild out there. >> Going to take the gap. Love this play. I'm too scared to do it, but I love it. Nice shot, Henna. Lining up the hiser. >> I feel like most often today it was a headwind with a left to right. So, um, pretty impressive play from Henna. She'll be inside the circle. Feel like that was a scary line today. Eveina going to do it as well. You got to give it height and you got to really hug that inside tree. >> Yeah, it's easy to swing it too wide. Eveina going deep on her spike. >> 286 is crazy. this I mean it feels like well when you throw that hiser it feels like 325 to 330. >> Yeah inside you can even disc down a little bit but it's just such a tight gap and man Silva just not quite getting the angles down today and this is a scary putt for par looking straight down the hill. That's a good flag hit. Own for another birdie. >> You sit down. >> Yep. Happens in a hurry. Oh, we're going to watch her roll down the hill slowly. Okay. Yeah, that was a lot of chains. Even caught some pole. What a comebacker. Ow. Ice in her veins. Avelina with the scary putt hill here. It drops off. Subliminal hill. >> Yeah. And a good comebacker from Silva looking to get off that bogey train. And not a the first not uncomfortable looking putt from Henna of the day. Evevelina cleaning up her par. And Lee car not really able to uh do too much here on the 11th. >> 11 birdies on the 11th. >> Nice. >> Mhm. Here's Holland Hanley ahead on the 13th. She's last year's winner of this event and that is pulled very far to the left, but it is safe >> this one was mostly a headwind on the approach. Look at that huge putt >> in a headwind. Come on. Hole 12. Love this hole. It's only 543, but not necessarily one that you can just break up into small bits. That can be highly risky. Most players just trying to bite off a lot on the tee. Even if you land um a little bit only a little bit left or only a little bit right, it can get out of control really quickly trying to scramble your way back onto the fairway with some forward progression. Um, no out- of- bounds that's really super in play that you're thinking about. Just trying to make sure you stay as close to center fairway as possible. You can see anything from a putter to a driver off the tee. And kicking right is the worst effect you can have on your drive. >> It's so bad in there. I didn't I didn't know. I didn't know. It's so bad. It took two pitch outs. >> A lot of times it's so dense that you your disc doesn't really get in there. You know what I mean? >> I do. >> It's blocked. Yeah, but my disc was in there and I had to get in there. And let me tell you, >> once you actually go in there, it's uh >> Yeah. >> Look, you can see how dark and shadowy is in there. >> Yeah. I'm going to find the left a little bit more than she wants. This is a nice looking shot from Eveina. Just gets caught up on the last tree, but in the center. Silva early, but honestly Whoa. It could be worse. Yeah, it gets through a lot of stuff. Yep. Horrible. Horrible. Is she out? I think so. I didn't realize Owen was quite that deep on the left. That's crazy. Oh, what a shot from Eveina. Yes. And it gets through that last corner tree. That can be so brutal. She's on the green. Beauty. >> Wow. The wind really picking up as the round moves on. >> Silva left with a not the best gap. She's trying to work a forehand and that'll be fine. own's third needs mostly a turning shot here. >> Yeah, another shaped up forehand and she doesn't quite have the height to get the full pan that she needs. She's going to bounce into the rough on the right side which can be really brutal. Oh man, Henna not left with much here after a really good T- shot. >> Bummer. A nice recovery though on the third. Bit of a tester for her par. This one played as the fifth most difficult hole of the day. You can see how strokes can stack up really quickly trying to recover. Nice little third shot from Silva. She is guaranteed a par here. Finally off the bohookie train. Own not too deep in the woods, which is great. She's able to throw a little patent pending around the corner. >> That's honestly a good scramble. I think I've mis uh spoke where was several times on this whole from short from short right. It was a very good scramble. >> And henna not able to save that par. Just a bit low. Eveina with a strong birdie bid. Gonna have to settle for another par. String of long string of gray. Yeah, man. Eveina has so many opportunities today. That's got to be so frustrating. Hole 13, we saw Holland Birdie. This one a very different hole. Used to be a par three uh with tall grass. Now some hazard um inbounds areas like two little bubbles of uh inbounds. The rest is hazard. They built up this crazy looking green where the rocks are basically the bullseye um on three sides. So, you just kind of need to um approach very carefully, stay low, count on some ground play. We're going to see Eveina probably drive the green. There's a few ladies trying to do this. Um most of us going to lay up in the first zone and then uh just kind of pitch up a second shot and try to park it on the green. Eveina going huge, but finding the hazard pin high. >> Yeah, she went for it yesterday and made it hard not to go for it today when the wind was a little bit friendlier. Silva swinging out wide. There's lots of room to work on this one. Is she going okay? I think she's on the edge. Yeah, that's like as far as you could push it, I think. Really nice shot. Oh, and working the right side. There's plenty of room over there. Super smart play. >> Yeah, way more room on the right than the left. But the teapad's kind of pointing the left. >> Hannah just chilling going rock x3 and a very tough little approach shot here. Thankfully it is a par4 so you just got to get it somewhere up there. >> So good. >> Wow. >> What a shot. And just landing at the perfect angle. Perfect speed. What wind? >> Yeah, this whole strip is like maybe 15 feet across. >> It's so easy to land up there and skip off. Yep. See that so often. Silva just going to air it out. She'll be left side, but I believe inside the circle still working the backhand, landing short and skip skibling up. >> Yeah, I kind of like the little skip play. >> Mhm. Here's Eveina from her T-shot. >> Two thumbs up. >> Two thumbs up. She's on the green to save par. >> So easy to blow by it from there. >> Nice putt. >> Yeah, tough putt into a headwind. Silva is in for birdie. >> Here we go. And yeah, very tweener hole. Um, I don't don't hate the change, but it is a little bit of an odd odd one. Yeah, this one played as the easiest hole of the day. Yeah, a little bit of a soft par4 here. >> Mhm. Check in with Cynthia Klesberga, >> a newer player to tour. She's one of my favorites to play with these days. >> And she's going for it. She is safe. >> Yeah, she definitely pulled it a bit right. >> Yeah, maybe not. >> Wow, she's so deep. >> And death putt. >> Oh my out of here. >> Okay, >> how far was this? Hold on. >> Huge. Hold on a second. >> What a birdie. >> Wow. 68 ft for that putt. Incredible. >> 1 2 3. >> Oh my god. >> That's an eagle from tears. hole 14. A new teapad for us. Uh, love the change here. You can throw anything up from a backhand putter to an aggressive forehand around the corner on the T-OT. Your second shot is whatever you feel comfortable with coming at this green with a drop off right behind the basket and an OB pond. Um it's very downhill on the second shot. It's a very fun shot to throw, but it's one that can be punishing. It really highlights your angles and if you're on the wrong one out of the hand, you can go out of bounds very quickly either left or right. We had a pretty nice win today. You can see a little bit left to right cross, but it was pretty calm. Missy getting really aggressive with the backhand down the right side. And that is so good. Yeah, there's so much ground play on the green. Missy accounting for that perfectly. Great birdie. Silva after that nice birdie shows kind of the conservative backhand play. Okay. Conservative. Conser. So conservative. >> I just mean she's not trying to get around the corner. Yeah. >> Um here's the forehand, which I really like. >> Uh-oh. >> No, it's good. No, it's not. >> I thought it was good, >> dude. I Okay. If she missed it, it was good. Dang it. >> That is what I'm like just playing over and over again when I line up a forehand on this hole. >> Oh, man. And that's She's not around the corner. That's going to be a nightmare. Okay, I didn't need to see this. I didn't need to see this. >> My head it just plays that on a loop. I'm like, there's no way I can get around this corner. Eveina going to go aggressive. >> Okay, this one looks great. It is centered up and way down the fairway. Owen gonna take it back in line with the basket uh to open up her angle. >> She's getting really aggressive here. She's trying to get all the way down and give herself a putt. >> Wow. >> Yeah, >> nice recovery. >> She's in the own zone. Inside circle, too. >> Silva quite a ways back here, but it does play downhill, so it's mostly about angle control. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay, misses it. >> If that misses the basket, that is 20 ft into the pond. That was so good. I mean, this looks like a slow speed disc. Wow. Boing. >> Yeah. Yeah, those rocks really aren't sticking up enough to stop it. >> What a shot. Let's see if Hannah can throw it in. >> Oh, pretty. >> Looks pretty dang good. Now, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, >> settle, >> chill. >> Yeah. >> Speed control on point, >> man. So good. This is Eve's drive. >> Crazy little chip sidearm. >> So cool. And I like the hanging it out play with something stable. Getting a little skip. So good. >> Good rocks today. >> Great rocks. >> Good effort to save the par. >> Yeah, super nice attempt. >> Another birdie for Henna. Missy coming up like a freight train though from Jay's card. What's the saying? I I like like a freight train. That's That is the same. >> Chew. >> And wow, three birdies on the card from our lead card today. There was only 11 total on hole 14. Hole 15, a par three at 288 ft. Uh you can do all sorts of things. There's a right side route if you're trying to play quote unquote safe. There is this route that we saw Cintia throw uh with the backhand. You want a turning backhand or um a very technical hiser flip sidearm or you can do a little sidearm pitchup um and go little chip chip. Uh if you any uh OB is going to go to the drop zone which is 40 ft behind it, death putt towards the water. I like this one mostly because there's just such a variety of shots. It's like a very difficult gap to hit to get the birdie, but I still like it. >> Oh my gosh. Silva gets a really quick bounce right out of her hand. It almost >> got like a foot drop. That was so weird. She does throw with a nose down angle, but that was that was weird. She's going to come up just barely short. Go to that drop zone in uh so good. So good. >> Okay. >> So good. >> Yeah. Nice. >> Yay. Follow flight. Great turn out of the hand. I was a little nervous right here, but that is so perfect. >> Ceruan turquoise parked. >> Yep. I think we're seeing way more ladies go for it this year than last year. >> Eveina gonna >> Oh, get really bad tree directed into the middle of the pond. >> Might not get that one back. >> Owen with the hand on the hip trying to decide. She's going for it. Yes, >> going for it. Back hand. Looking good. Come on, be nice. And with her flex game, that's a tough line. You kind of do have to throw a backhand that just turns the whole way. >> Mhm. Or just like a tiny heiser forehand. No flexing. Uhoh. >> Man, Silva really stacking up OB strokes today. You see Eveina just lay that up. It is super risky to run. It is just normal OB rules after the drop zone. Boy, three from the drop zone is pretty brutal. She didn't even take her time. She literally before Eveina was even off the drop zone, she was putting. >> That's so crazy. >> Wow. >> I love the framing here. >> Yeah. >> We're just a spectator right now. >> We're all just spectators. >> Yeah. >> It's that movie where you're like inside the guy's head. >> Uh being Don Malkovich. >> Uh no. Inside Lou and Davis. No. Is it being John M? No. Okay. >> I mean, you're inside John McVich's head. >> Yeah, you're right. You're right. That's the That's the one. >> I just never get movie quote movie. >> Yeah, you did. I >> That's incredible. >> This is the first one I think I ever >> Congratulations. >> Thank you so much. >> A turkey from Hannah. Congratulations to her, too. What a drive. >> Only two birdies on hole 15 today. We watch Centia with that 68footer and then Henna hole 16. Another par five. Really uphill T-shot. Also really uphill T- pad. Take note because you can easily early release and go out of bounds left. That out of bounds on the left side is in play most of the hole. Your second shot if you don't get all the way up to the top of the hill. It's such a scary backhand where you're just hoping it doesn't hiser left. They really pinch the out- of- bounds in as well as you get closer to the basket. We used to have a lot more room to work over there, but I would say it's close to 80 ft in. You can see the old tall grass over there. The third shot ideally if you're playing the whole well is getting somewhere down here on the green. Raven going to be way left of the green. She's around circle 2's edge. >> Oh, huge putt. >> Yes. >> What a parade. >> Big downhill putt as well. If you have a distance forehand, that's a nice one to pull out on the second shot. Kind of counteracting and moving away from that OB line left. >> It's so cool that they're getting to the top of the hill. >> And really smart from HA playing that left side on purpose, opening up the second shot big time. Owen kind of rode the woods line yesterday as well. This is her game plan. Yeah. Gets way up there. Eveina opening up with a destroyer. I think maybe fading a bit too much here. >> Yep. >> Oh no. Looks like it was close. >> Oo. >> Mhm. Such a straight shot from Silva even with the hill. >> Pretty own going backhand from this right side. Wild woman. She did this yesterday, too, and kind of rode the woods line all the way down. Today, it's going to get tangled up. It's going to When you get uh that much distance taken off your second shot, this hole turns into kind of hoping for a par really fast, Silva. >> Cool shot. >> Oh my god. >> Wow. >> That is a >> Wow, >> that's the farthest second shot I've ever seen. Yeah, dude. Little hiser flip to full flight. That was by the trees. >> I wonder how much of that is a rage throw at this point in the round when you're stacking up double bogeies like that. It's It's crazy how you start making different decisions and uh >> be nice. What a nice little bounce there at the end. We talked about this yesterday, but they brought in this left side significantly. We also talked about it in the fly over, which we were both paying attention to. What's happening? Is Eveina going through all these trees? Wow, everyone dropping bombs on this final shot. I guess why not? >> I guess why not? It's a great reason to do stuff. >> I'm being serious. >> Yeah. Oh. >> Oh, man. >> And that is why not. That right side can be so brutal. We'll see what Owen has to work with over there. >> Oh, Eveina finding this tiny little path. >> Cool. It's a good shot from there. Perfect little setup shot for Ha. She's going to leave it just a tiny bit short. It's easy to do on this one. It's a really well blocked green. >> Silva's third. >> This is crazy. >> It's like almost in putting range. Like she's only 40 ft from where we saw Raven putt it. >> Oh, and she comes in hot. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Most third shots are landing 50 feet in front of this. Wow. Owen gonna find this little bike path, too. >> Hey, this bike path looks fun. >> Yeah, I'm definitely thinking about biking that on Sunday. >> Oh, yeah. >> Nice out from and Silva not able to capitalize from where she lands. Looks like she has some branches in the way. Eveina gives it a good strong bid. Love the jump putt there. Comes up just a little bit low. Oh, and Henna's nerves kind of revealing themselves in the last couple holes. But super solid comeback putt. >> Just going to have to settle for a turkey and a par. >> A >> dang. >> There was only five birdies on 16 today. >> Yeah. I wonder if people were just trying to get more aggressive. Man, it's crazy that Henna's got seven strokes over the next three competitors. Hole 17. Whoa. It's a par4. 461 ft. Uh, very narrow, very small landing zone. I like just kind of a hiser with something flippy, maybe slow speed to get to the corner. If you line yourself up right, though, it's still not really a super open fairway. Um, it calls for it. It's just tricky. It's tricky all the way around. You can catch a tree, end up in a lot of weird spots. It's really difficult to play this hole just how you draw it up in your head. You're likely going to be playing it very different almost every time. >> Yeah, the landing zone's so small. I think this is I like this hole because I think it's a scramblers's hole. >> It's not one that you can really pick exactly where you want to land, but there's so many options after that. None of them are great, >> but they're there. >> But they're there. So, it really forces you to test your uh toolkit. >> Yeah, I like this one a lot, too. >> One kicking early, but getting a really nice flight. >> What the really nice? >> It's great, I think. >> Man, that bike path looks awesome. And a nice little hiser flip from Silva. She's going to be inside though and then get the kick inside as well. And that left side has not much to work with. Ooh, come on. Come on. I liked it for a second. It was close. >> Wow. Oh, this hole plate is the third easiest hole. What? What the? The stats on this course are just mindboggling. >> Yeah, >> every day they're so different. >> You can mess up any hole. >> Mhm. >> You can birdie any hole just about. >> That's a good little out from Eveina. Not trying to get too crazy. >> Hannah really trying to get aggressively up this corner up the hill. That's nice. >> That is very well done. And I think if you have that shot, it's a really big advantage on this hole. >> Mhm. >> Oh, she faked me out so hard. Me, too. That had to hurt her wrist or something a little. >> I thought she was going to throw it straight in the ground for a second. Wow. Full commitment through that little gap. >> And the camera guy was sharp there. Silva from the left side. O, this gap is not great. >> Oh. Oh, she's going up and over. Really trying to get aggressive through that corner and gets the left kick. The worst kick. >> I'm really surprised by that decision. There is not much over there. >> I think she's maybe got some decision fatigue. >> Yeah, >> it's like it's real out there. It >> you're having a rough day and you're like, I don't care. That way's fine. It's crazy how this course can feel so easy. >> Or it could feel like this. >> Yep. >> And still not a clean look at it for Silva. >> That is so good. >> Great recovery. >> What a little tiny gap she had to hit. And going uphill owns third. She's about 80 feet uphill. There was 11 birdies on this hole today. >> Cool. >> What? That's really cool. Half the field got at least a circle two in regulation. I can tell you my card mates didn't. And uh got a tree right in the way on that one. Our feature card struggling on this one as well. Yeah, par's great here. This is definitely a bonus birdie. >> It averaged under par today. That's blowing my mind. This always plays as one of the harder holes. It makes for a very exciting finish on this course because 17 and 18 are both very difficult. >> You'll see. Let's finish it off today. Hole 18, a par five. More and more players taking this left side route that the drone is flying. Trying to just blast one way over here. It makes the second shot to the landing area maybe a little bit easier. There's a right side route as well that forces you to hit a tunnel to get down there. Regardless of how you get there and how many shots it takes, your last shot most of the time is going to be carrying this bubble of OB straight uphill. Normally right at a headwind basket's elevated. It's only about 60 ft wide up there. It's very tough final shot to the green. >> Hannah taking the left side, but definitely a lot lower than she would like. Going to burn early on the hill. Thankfully, it was pretty calm wind on this T-OT. You didn't start to feel it until you were throwing your second shot >> on with the right side play trying to line herself up to the tunnel just maybe just a hair left of where you'd like but uh not right. >> Oh, you think so? >> Yeah, we'll see. I like to be like way on the left side though. Not Not everyone likes that. >> Yeah, I think I like to be more like um uh just slightly left of that. Just like pretty dead center. Um, Silva definitely I think a little too far right to feel comfortable, >> but like good distance. >> Yeah, even with her left to right finishing backand. We'll see what she has. Eveina getting robbed by that one branch. >> I can't believe she didn't just chop that thing down. >> She's going up the tunnel. What a shot. Go, baby. >> Huge forehand. Still great. Yeah, >> she could go for it from there if she wants. >> Absolutely. >> And that had so much life left. That's crazy. What a shot. >> Henna lining up the tunnel as well. Tricky backhand. Yeah, the kind of a layup uh was the attempt there, I believe. And she's going to come up short even of that. >> Lined up pretty dang well for her flex game. It's such a scary shot. >> I know. >> She's about She's about 15 feet right of that OB line and she's got a what? 340. >> Yeah. >> Uphill now. 320. Yeah. Big shot uphill. >> Hard to say if she'll go for it. >> Probably will. Silva lined up. >> Nice. >> Yeah, pretty well. And also just has that left to right shot on lock. So good. >> I thought she was way more pinched than that. >> Henna's third. Just looking to put this towards the edge of the bubble and that looks good. Oh no, it's not good. I think that one branch caught her early and tipped her towards the right side. >> Oh no, she's going to have to lay up again. >> Pay a double pitch out. >> Yeah. And that's hole 18. >> Mhm. >> Eveina going to go for it on her third. >> Yeah. After three single bogeies in a row, looking to put it close. Good distance. It looks like too good. Oh man, she'll be inside the circle looking at a par save. Silva's third. Yeah. >> Yeah. What a shot. Wow. A tailwind. Interesting. Own in really nice position. makes good on it. Oh, wow. Another basket hit. If that was normal height, man, she's in. >> That could have been it. >> Yeah, >> she just struggles with those elevated pins, huh? >> And uh important to keep this to a single bogey here. She does have some strokes to play with, but you can tell every hole can be a disaster here. And she's going to minimize the errors. Yeah, that'll be nice to give her a little bit of room going into Championship Sunday. And a nice finishing putt from Eveina. Put herself in position all day. Kept battling. And Hannah keeping it to that single bogey. Going to finish 12 down. Matching her round of glee from yesterday at six. Tough day for Silva, but finishes on a strong note. And Owen finishing with a birdie. Does that leave her? Does that secure her lead card? We'll see. >> I think so. Yeah, she was in a tie for fourth. >> Mhm. >> Yep. Hannah and Holland with the six down. Hot round. The back playing tough today. Sophia Duna with a five down, moving up six spots. find herself in that tie for second. Yeah. And Owen dropping back to Holland. >> Solo four. >> Holland coming up from what? Third card >> with that six sound. Coming up eight spots. Wow. >> Um five strokes back. >> That's Yeah. Where'd she come from? Where'd she come from? >> Hello. >> And we get to watch the Canadian tomorrow as well. Sophia Dunka always on Chase cards for the last few events. Nice to see her on a lead card. Yeah, she's our roommate for the week and we have a deal that if she uh wins, we get, you know, we split the earnings three ways. So, just reminding her of that deal in front of everybody. >> Wow. I'm glad to find out about this here. >> No, no, we talked about it first. We all, the three of us, we shook, you know. >> I remember it well. >> Yeah, but yeah, we have one more day tomorrow and there's rain in the forecast. >> However, >> hopefully it holds off. >> Yeah, it's looking like it may Ooh, the radar looks bad.
