Hello and welcome back to round two back n coverage of the MO League Card at the 2026 Grip Equipment 44th Kansas City Wide Open. We are halfway through the event here on moving day and we've got some wonderful action. Cover playing some great disc golf on the front nine. >> Smooth operator. He's got another smooth operator kind of chilling right behind him and Ganon Burr and Ricky >> kind of a little off, but he's getting some birds. He keeps keeps covering up those mistakes with some nice birdies. And Calvin >> at two under in the front nine. Nothing to sneeze at, >> but it's not what he wanted. Let's just put it that way. He's definitely looking to go four under is kind of the mark, I feel like, for these guys to keep up with those rounds to stay in contention. >> So maybe he's going to, you know, fire back a little bit. He'll need to if he wants to stay in contention. The way Genanon is playing, the way Cole is playing, good disc golf heading into the 10th hole. This is a 487 ft par three. Once again, the wind's pretty good. Honestly, it's a a very attacking wind situation. If the wind is a headwind, this becomes a pretty tricky hole. But for these guys, pretty simple hiser left to right crosswind today. This isn't going to drag back to the target, but it will be safe. >> Psych. >> Well, hold on. Pretty good movement on the ground. >> Really nice. Yeah, sometimes I like to keep the viewer on their edge of their seat. >> I was about to fall off and I was watching with you. >> Oh no. Oh no, guys. >> Yeah. Yeah. Here's the thing. With this height, there's just no way. >> I don't know. What is No, pretty good. >> Yeah. Just controlled completely with the height. >> Helping. >> I can't. That's too good. >> Can't help me. Huh? Calvin not much of the high staly thrower. >> Well, at least the audience gets to see a little something. How much action does it get? Yeah, well in the circle. That'll do good. >> That 487 is getting there quick, but it is downhill. probably plays closer to 430, 440. >> Really like this one from Rick. >> A little short. >> Oh, >> very similar. Yeah. One catches, one doesn't. Rick maybe a tad more hiser. Maybe snagged it. Snag the last little bit. Cole >> seven down through 10. >> Nice. I I'm going to be honest. I really didn't expect it to get that close with the init initial width and and >> I was with you. I was with you. There was more ground play than you normally see in this grass. It's pretty thick grass. And we were just a good catch away from a Starframe. We got Gavin Babcock here on the 13th. That's a big forehand. 410 ft up the hill. Oh, sit down. Man, that got there quick. How do you get on that? What? That's what we like to see. Gav, nice putt. Right in the heart. Hole 11, par three, 383 ft. Couple options here. This is the forehand route. The backhand route on the other side of that tree. Both shots you need to flex one. You can go flex forehand. Move up to the left side and hiser down or the other way with the backhand. There's also a right to left crosswind and the over the top hiser is definitely there. Anthony bro just trying to throw a throw it in one. Oh goodness. Little stepper coming our way. Or is he just going to Oh, he's stepping it. Hold that. Cole already at 18. >> Doesn't love it, but I think if he skips, he's going to like it a lot. That's right at the edge of the circle. Big right to left cross one here. Tough to get the angle right. I like the commitment on this one though. >> Driven. >> Yeah. >> Well done, man. That's clean. That is really well done. I like that one. I like the way that looked. >> Mhm. Yeah. Just no question out of the hand. Perfect line, right speed. Calvin a little higher, but fighting back nicely as well. That was a clinical work from Calvin, Ganon, and Rick. And Cole, not so bad either. What is happening? >> Nice curl. >> That's brutal. It's kind of brutal. You can't miss that on the that low. The reaction obviously you don't want to see that. But that was a really bad putt going up the hill. >> First mistake of the round for Cole and he's just going to open up the door. Yeah, that's what's tough is the situation he was in. It was the worst time for that to happen. But it seems like that's when it happens when you don't commit. >> Yep. >> The thing about Gan is not only is he good, but he's skinny. You don't even have to open the door that wide for him to walk through. >> Rick wrapped her legs right through it. Doesn't even care. >> You don't have to open the door. He's like, "I'm coming through, baby." >> That was nice about it. He'll Yeah. I'd be like, "Hey, >> hey, do you mind? >> Yeah, I got a pizza. >> Pizza delivery for you. >> I didn't order a pizza. I love pizza. >> I have pizza. I'm coming in." >> Slides it under the door. Gets you, but you got to pay me. And then you open the door and you're done. >> Hunt the 12th. Par four. Brutal. Any mistake is just amplified with the trees that give you no breaks whatsoever. Got to land in the middle and then got to figure something else from there. Hardest hole in the course for good reason. >> Who in that group do you trust the most to hit this gap? as we watch Casey. Who I would trust. I'm trusting this. >> Yeah, we'll trust. >> Oh, is it gonna >> See, like that's the thing. He's actually still off the fairway. It just You want it to curl just a little bit more. >> Now, this now this is hisering. So, this might stay in the middle. >> Yeah, it's still hard to do. Casey. So, such great distance. still has to kind of finagle and my goodness does he finagle well. Not many people are hitting the bucket in two. And a quick correction actually. This is the second hardest hole today. Hole 14 was actually playing just a bit tougher. >> Makes sense. Tough headwind. Yes. >> Cross win on 14 today. >> Tough to get to the pin in two. Two great birdies from our chase card. So, >> all right. Who Who do I trust? I finish the statement >> in this group to hit this gap. This guy. >> Uh, can I insert after? >> Don't trust that guy. >> Well, Ricky hit the another round sign yesterday. I'm not trusting him for anything right now. >> I think I trust Calvin to throw a straight low lowiner. I trust Ricky to get a par above all else. >> Oh, that's just a Ricky Weissaki par is what that is. Hardest hole in the course off the fairway. Yeah, it's easy. I mean, just blitzed right down the middle. And that's how you can tell it's down the middle because it's off the fairway. Hit the initial line perfectly though. >> I mean, but I'm serious. Like, you hit this, you go perfectly dead straight. If it doesn't a little bit, >> you're off. This is Annie. That's what you're trying to do. It's more comfortable to bend it from left to right down that fairway. It's so hard to sneak a little bit of hiser on it. Mhm. Ricky, I mean, honestly though, if he if he's able to save the par today from this lie, he's got a great chance. That's a well positioned throw. He's going to be far back though. >> Yeah, Canon's on a monster birdie streak of six in a row. And it's ending. Ew. Is it ending with a slam door? That can turn into a bogey quick. >> I didn't know he was He almost made that work. >> Yeah, that's a bummer for Cole. Such a good thraw. It's just not good enough. It's got to be perfect on this one. There's really no room for any error whatsoever. A little skip and he's going to be home free. Well done. Couldn't really get the full swing because of that tree in front of him, but that'll give him a look. >> That is such a good shot from that that position, that angle he had to throw. Good stuff. Just don't care where he is off the tea. Going to find a bar. How did he get through that clean? Whoa. He's good for at least He's good for at least one of those around. What a pretty putt. What a great birdie. Grabbing one on everybody. It's tough to do out here. He deserved it. Great T- shot. Really good second shot. And the putt was just as good as the other two. Good scramble for Ganon. The par streak or the birdie streak comes to an end, but almost feels like a birdie out of position on 12. >> Used to be a par five. >> Ricky has officially thrown not a single second down the fairway on 12 and has walked away par. Tough one coming up though, especially today. Okay, right to left cross one 410 in distance uphill a little bit. So really playing like 430 hazard just everywhere except for here. I like what they did here. I like what you Hey, I like what you're doing with the place. It's in good hands. They're doing I mean we gave it great review yesterday. If you didn't watch round one, we both kind of agreed this is one of the best courses on tour >> for sure. which puts it up there as one of the best courses in the world. >> Calvin trying to get on highs. He gets on highs, he's going to love life. He loves life cuz he's on highs. >> Hits the rock, rolls away, but he's still riding the highway waves. Feeling good. >> Did he get over on it? No, but that's going to roll and that's not going to not going to love it. Didn't commit too much height. I was asking so much. I mean, I was I was kind of shocked to see Gavin get all the way with that forehand. He's just got so much power. Yeah. Ton of power. Big guy. I'm frightened of him. >> Right. Right. but then knocks down the butt. You know, >> that's what he does. >> Ricky with a nice shot in the circle. Cole twostep run up. Heiser didn't like the tree hit. Oh, and it holds him just on the short side. H a leaf away from being on the bricks or rocks or whatever you're calling them. >> Oh, the bad rocks. And Cole just says, "I'll take the bogey." >> Ricky says, "I'll take the birdie. That's taking advantage of a little open door there from the leader. >> And a couple good putts in a row now for Calvin. >> So, first and second place going backwards a little bit and Ricky climbing up. We're going to have a tie at second place now. and Calvin make busting a little move there. >> 1 2 3. >> Oh my god. >> That's an eagle in tears. tonight. This is the hardest hole in the course, Paul. Why is it that way? The wind switched. So, once you get around this corner, as we're flying, straight headwind, head left to right, and it it's pretty brutal. So, if you throw it to where you're typically trying to get to to get around the corner with any sort of pace. Mid-range isn't going to get there. You're going to have to beef up to like a fairway driver. And maybe not these guys, but it's playing tough. Sidearms lifting and pushing towards the out of bounds on the inside once you get around the corner. The T-shot really isn't playing that tough except for these guys. >> It could go deep because of the right to left crosswind. >> I love that shot for Calvin. He's got he's got the drive deep into the gap or into the fairway. Opens up the angle better. It doesn't even matter if you go left. You just want to get the depth. >> And there you go, man. Pushing that backside OB line. >> Ricky goes just a bit too far. >> That's what I was worried about. See if these guys can go to school. Gives it some more height. But I don't like this one either. >> Hit somebody. >> Did that come out of that? Come back inbounds. >> Oh, that's tough. Great break. for the rest of the card though. >> Yeah, that that that stinks. >> That shouldn't happen. I mean, not even in the least bit is it the crowd's fault. It just it just it does happen. >> Yeah, it happens all the time things >> to be honest. This is the best crowd we've seen. New Orleans was close, but I think there's more people in Kansas City. They just come out. They love disc golf and they're out here having a great time. But yeah, again definitely the benefactor of a very good break. >> Hard to get to the pin from there. >> Gives himself a little look though. I >> miss those trees. But that's fine. >> Just a bit more height for Cole. >> Yeah, but I think it goes more height. It's all pushing right. >> Scary. >> Yeah, it is scary. >> I'm scared. >> This is looking really nice. Yes. Yes. Yes, let's go. Bullseye. I like the green a lot. Those rocks are at the perfect height to keep a shot from rolling down and away. But if someone's coming in with speed, they're still going to skip over. We I like that a lot. >> Ricky low beamer wanting to skip. >> Well done. Giving himself a chance. Wow, Cole getting aggressive. >> Got a good putt for it. Yeah, he does. Once you get down here, there's really not a lot of wind. Wow. lands in a mud a little mud plop. >> It's a foot left or right that slides OP. No one's ever been better than him at this. Just cannot give the man a bogey on a par four. A par three and he kicks OB. You're toast. Still have not gotten to Calvin's approach shot yet. Bullseye with the forehand approach. Bingo. So that will get him into a tie for third place with Ricky. Talk about a trickster. Little dink right here. Little little short dink dink will play games with you. >> Peter Dinklage 288. Water. Tons of it. >> Grody water too. >> Grody water. Not swimming water. >> Bye-bye disc water. Don't want to drink it. >> Don't want to touch it. You want to go flying right over it. That green right there. 288. Not far. Downhill. Shorter. Good stuff. Uh-oh. He doesn't even want to be near the water. See? See? As far away as possible. Ricky after the near counter skip ace yesterday hits the guardians on that right side falls OB >> little inside lot inside you're you're playing >> you're playingo >> canon okay that's safe >> playing I mean sometimes you're playing sometimes you go >> his was not 50 he went through the inside >> yeah way inside Yeah, that's true. >> There's one. Goodness, that is smooth. The box. That is so smooth. >> Oh man, that is so nice. >> As good as they make them. Calvin's got work to do. This is such a scary putt. Rick's like, "Remember when you said if I go beat on a par three, I'm toast?" Yeah, you're toast, buddy. You're toast. Oh, he saves par even from the commentary. Like I don't like he he can't bogey this guy. Getting frustrated though. Just outside the circle looks like. Doesn't catch. Good par save. Never even close to the water the whole time for Calvin >> Cole with a beautiful birdie there. >> Gains a stroke on the card. Needed that. Hasn't really had anything going his way lately. Onto the 16th. The long uphill par five and then downhill. This is one we've seen eagled in the past. Yesterday, Calvin did with a 4-foot tap in the only eagle of the day. Just got to get out the gap clean and then do it again. >> Uh that's out the gap clean. >> Uh yeah. top of the hill. Lot more options when you get all the way up there. He can send it home with his distance. There's an eagle alert in Liberty, Missouri. And Gowen just has no problem with this gap or this teapad whatsoever. Good shot. Not exactly what Rick wants as far as the height up the hill, but still really good. needs to sit. He's been living on that string today. >> He has been, but he's been living on the right side of it for the most part. >> Aggressive high line. Ricky getting a lot of distance. Should be a pretty easy pitch up for the birdie, you'd think. I don't think that's correct. >> Yeah, maybe not. >> I think he's left behind the >> There's There's There's a lot of stuff, but there's some there. Yeah. Yeah. >> I almost said I was like behind the >> stuff. >> Yeah, >> Cole. Oh, yeah. There was an eagle sighting in Missouri. Calvin puts a good move on this one, but it's a little early. Gets caught up, but the roll actually brings it closer to the gap. He's going to That's fine. >> Yeah, just keep getting better. That's nice. Nice little roll there. >> Mhm. >> Maybe a little sidearm turnover from there. >> Canon, he's got the downhill throw. This is the width you want. Does it stay clean? >> It stays clean. >> Nice. There was an eagle sighting in Liberty, Missouri. >> I like Eagle par fives and that's what this one is. It takes two remarkable shots and even a good putt. boys. That was not Calvin's best, but he is still putting for birdie >> now. Ricky living on the OB line. That is a Okay, definitely not an easy shot. Whatever he's going to do is going to be weird. >> No one else. He's like, "Yeah, well, >> Cole for Eagle rips it. >> Needs a sit." >> It's usually one of Cole's strength strengths is his putting pace. Now Ganon for Eagle. Oh, just a smidge short. Calvin Calvin's kind of charging right now. >> Yes, he is. Seven under in the last nine. >> Ricky in for the birdie. Nothing's come easy for Ricky today. Good putt. Well done. There were three Eagles. Luke Taylor, Dylan Spelman, Jaden Ry, and I just keep forgetting to mention the ace yesterday from Joel Freeman back on seven. I know that we were a long way away from that. That was yesterday, several holes ago, >> but it was a 420 hole. We got to mention that. Incredible. >> Nice shot, bud. >> And a star frame here on the 16th. Moving on to 17. Little double dog leg. >> Seven aces is crazy. >> Yeah, it's really crazy. Yeah. AB going aggressive forehand roller inside line with fast disc down the creek. Oh boy. That is a completely get wrecked moment. That was heading to the promised land. Casey doesn't care about that. >> Wow, what a shot, Casey. Perfect width, perfect angle, great power. >> That was awesome, man. Meanwhile, Bella in some trouble here of a big number. Right. >> Pretty sure we're showing this for a reason. Oh my word. Sheesh. Nothing normal about that par for Anthony. Very touchy with the distance here. >> Too short and you're in danger. Too long, you're in that ditch that Anthony just dealt with. Those are all fine. Yeah, this looks a little bit more promising, but unfortunately just a little too much pace. That one's going to be really tricky to get up and down. What is Gan? He's just going to try try to do what he was doing off the tea. Just get back into position. Work from there. >> Didn't really stuff from there though. Cole going wide flex shot. >> Whoa. >> Does it get us? >> Oh my goodness. >> That is finding something out of nothing. Calvin going for the same line. What? I'm doing better. What is up? I didn't know there was anything even up there. >> Ricky trying to overstable flex shot or something. >> Roller like he did yesterday. >> It was okay. You think he was gonna Okay. Couldn't quite tell what he was thinking. Cannon also liking the flick roller. >> Good curl up. It's got a chance for the P. >> Really nice. >> Ricky in some danger. >> Actually, that kicked out to a nice spot. >> Yeah, he's catches the middle tree though. >> Can Can we say it now? >> What? Ricky in a little bit of a danger. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Oh, nice putt. >> That's a fantastic birdie. Three birdies in a row now to write the ship on the back nine. And Ricky in some serious danger now. Double bogey coming up for Rickyaki. >> Sometimes when you're constantly scrambling, constantly in an uncomfortable situation, it just it'll eventually catch up to you. You got to throw good shots eventually. >> What's the expression? Play with fire, you get burned. >> Can't just keep playing with fire. I mean, like, he's the best at it, but it doesn't mean he's never going to not make a mistake. airballing that putt. >> You know what else they say? >> You You win some, you lose some. >> They say that. >> What else do they say? >> Don't take a deep breath underwater. >> Cuz you drowned. That is a a wise man's tale. On to the 18th. Par five. Eagle opportunities abound. 924 ft. Not too far for these guys to get into the landing zone to think about going for the green and two. We got Zack Nash who did eagle it yesterday. Probably with a drive similar to this one. You can't walk up and put it in a better spot. 450 home from there. and he threw it 453. Oh, and he's about to be four under in two rounds. That's awesome. Good for Zach. That's what 1800 spin on the tech disc will do for you. >> Real nice. >> Might be a little tight. Might be a little awkward and be honest with you. Or it might be just looking straight down the shoot. Yeah, there's one pretty sizable gap through the middle of those trees, but if you don't have access to it, then it might get tricky. >> You're going to get build out by Calvin here. >> That's out of the bounds. >> It is out of the bounds. >> And this isn't good either. This is This is taking a breath underwater. >> Yeah. If you take a breath under water, you'll drown. You'll drown. Isn't that what they say? That is what they say. >> This is not what Ricky wanted. But I mean, it's fine. It's just he wants to get into that Zack Nash position position to go for the Eagle >> four back off the the lead right now. Just getting back into position for Ganon. >> That's fine. I >> mean, he could go home from there if he wanted >> from where he went out of bounds. >> Yeah, >> I mean, he certainly could. >> That was like a magic trick. Yeah. Calvin back into position. Cole does have access to the gap. Do does not take advantage of it high. And now he's going to have to just pitch out. >> Yeah, par at best. And that opportunity he had to gain strokes on the chasers is squandered. And now Ricky in position to gain a stroke. >> That'll do. And he's most likely going to get it. >> And he's going to get to 16. Ganon gets up and down. He'll stay at 16. So'll be 19, 17, and two 16s. And it looks like he will do that. Uh yeah, I think he's good from a foot. Does Cole take care of business on the approach? >> Looks leaky, but >> yeah, a lot of stability in that disc, so it's fine. >> One final round remaining. Coalan will be your leader by a couple of strokes and we are expecting some inclement weather. There's actually going to be a cut for the top 70% of the field which we don't normally do to bring the tea times a little bit earlier in the day to try to avoid the bad the bad stuff. >> Okay. So, we'll see what that does tomorrow. But as of right now, Culver Dalan in the lead trying to win his third disc golf pro Tour event. >> Yeah. And and most likely hoping that the weather comes in early, >> honestly. >> Sure. >> It's a good place to live. Have the lead with the bad weather coming in. We've seen a lot of champions come of that. >> We sure have, Paul. Well, we have a tight race. Honestly, the win could come from the chase car. It could happen. >> It It could. Yes. >> And this is one of those days. We don't have a runaway victory yet, and it's going to be an exciting race to the finish line at this beautiful course here in Liberty, Missouri, just outside of KC. Thanks for watching, guys. One round to go. See you tomorrow. Yeah. Well, well, well. My mom.
