With thunderstorms looming on the horizon, we get ready for Championship Sunday at the 44th Kansas City Wide Open presented by Grip EQ. We're at Bad Rock Creek in Liberty, Missouri, where Cole Redalan has a twoshot lead over Calvin Heimberg. Ganon Burr and Ricky Weissaki are sitting three shots back. It's 1:45 local time. We're expecting storms in about 2 hours. If they don't get through nine holes, then the tournament administration will determine whether it's possible to get all groups through nine later today or potentially tomorrow given the new PDGA policy for elite series of majors. If it's determined that that's not feasible, then they will just call it done through two rounds. That would make Cole Redalan the champion. They've moved tea times up by about 90 minutes. So, everything a little weird and wild as we begin lead card action on the final round. >> Goal up two. Eagle does not need to happen for this guy, but it needs to sit down. That is OB out of the gate. >> Risky to run this >> sit down. It does sit down barely and he will putt for bogey. I wonder if the stake helped out a little bit. Calvin takes the box. >> Oh, he burned it. I think that's going to be safe. Oh, red flag not on the line. He's also got a stable up here. He's got to make sure he compensates for the wind. >> Just like that. Off the rocks. >> Shot looks good for Malan. He's off the rocks as well. That's a fantastic reset. >> Very low miss from Ganon. He's been a lot about that headwind. >> Well, if you're a nose down putter like Ricky or Ganon, it's tough to get that right. Putting uphill into a headwind. >> Goalan back in the solo lead. Two for two start for Isaac Robinson. Here's his upshot at the third. And Isaac's been doing this all season. And a perfect shot there. Flat footing. And there's Zack Nash's scorecard. He's only missed two holes. >> Good for him. And anybody that's watched Zach throw a disc or play disc golf knows that his ceiling is limitless. It's great to see him putting up a good score today on Sunday. >> Ricky's got to put a move on this very left. Power poles are in a terrible spot. He's got to pick a side. >> And he's going with a little flip up here. >> So good. So good. Still not where Ricky's mid-range went yesterday. This is the beauty of being where Ganon is off the tea. You get to fight that wind forehand. So much easier when the wind blowing that direction. >> Chance to grab a stroke on Reddalan. >> He's in for Birdie. >> That's a gorgeous putt. And Calvin has to do a lot more to his putting stroke to putt in these winds. >> Ricky got that same buzz in his hand. What >> for Dalan second? >> Oh, that is ridiculous. >> What a shot from Malan. >> Knocks it down. That gets him to 19. Cole and Ganon were tied going into that final round. 26 under par. They had four strokes on Ricky and Rodalan shot an eight under. Besting by Ricky. Wow. >> So, Ganon's birdie putt comes straight back down the hill to stay within one of the lead. >> Oh, not again. A double bogey >> after making the green in regulation. Four putt for Ganon. >> I don't think I've ever seen one before, honestly. >> Ricky has gained two strokes on Cole through five holes. Back in the sixth for White's second. >> Solid shot. >> Second birdie of the day for Casey White. >> And he is way back there. And that is not pretty. >> So, this is a good camera angle to show how technical this forehand's going to be. >> Oh, he did it. Spectacular shot. That left for Birdie. >> Well, now that puts a lot of pressure on these other guys trying to get up and down for Birdie. Calvin has a much more straight route and he takes advantage and puts it inside C1 >> to the seventh. Robinson's got to sit down. >> A helpful tree kick leaves him just outside the bullseye. >> He's got to curl up. edge of the circle putting downhill. >> Can save the par. >> Ricky's got to have this to stay within one. >> Yes, one day I'll be an old man. My grandson is going to say, "Grandpa, how good was Ganon Burret scrambling in 2026? I'm going to show this hole to him." Chance for Cole to extend the lead. And >> this is that practice. >> That shot not possible. He said it used to stall out when he tried to get the overstable drivers to do that. >> Roll back. The Zuka replay. Fantastic. >> Man, it feels like Danny to throw this one with a blindfold on. Purity yesterday just a little left inside circle one today. two for two in his career. >> Should be throwing that disc on every shot. Hurricane X >> and he is dialed in with that right now. Just saw official communications from CEO Jeff Spring that it will be nine holes and that's going to be it. So, just like last year, we will play a half round in the final round. And that means that Cole Rodalan all of a sudden is in a dominant position. He's got two shots and we're on the eighth. I know that they can bring the players into Monday if there's a necessity, but there's storms in the morning on Monday as well. I'm not sure. We'll get some clarification on that. And again, they are going to be stopping this round before we actually have lightning over the top of the course because they've got to have time to clear everybody out. Dixon, I think you heard something about the weather as well. Yeah, I have uh my family obviously down in Emporia, which is about an hour and a half south of here, and I got texts from several different people saying it is pouring absolute buckets down there right now. Uh and it is a a long north to south uh storm cell right now. So, uh it is that stuff is headed our way imminently. Well, a perfect upshot from Cole and you can see it on his face. He knows he's in dominant position right now to win this tournament. He gets the birdie here. It's pretty much locked up and you have to get people to safety well before this comes. And aside from lightning, there's potential tornado warnings, hail, and a beautiful shot from Ganon just doing what he can to get in position. And barring a disaster at the ninth for Cole Rodalan, he is going to be the winner. Such such a slow start to 2026 as he works through mechanical changes to his swing. Heinberg knocks down the birdie putt. >> You got to give it to him. The way he played the final stretch of holes, the way he threw the T-shot on five, the unbelievable birdie on six, the clutch shot on seven, and then right here, parked in the bullseye on eight. Three really challenging birdies to get. Ganon in for birdie to get to 19. Par for Weissaki >> and a threeshot lead for Coalan with one to play. >> Yeah, I thought I was asking questions every game. >> Take frustration from pretty much everybody besides Coalan right now. And again, you you get it, of course, but they told the players this was a possibility. >> He steps up, gets the reverse skip inside circle one. What a clutch finish for Cole. The day did not have to go like this for him, but it did. and head in his hands as he knows that he's finished the job and he is going to win his third Elite Series event. Ganon to get to 20. >> These are big putts. >> Adam will finish in second. to join him in a tie for second. Weissaki. >> Well, three times Colbert Dalan has had the lead heading into the final round of an Elite Series disc golf proour event and three times he has emerged as the champion. He can leave this tournament so proud of how he stepped up and finished >> especially after a start on one. Threw a heroic T-shot on five, heroic approach on six, great drive on seven, and parked it for birdie on eight. Ladies and gentlemen, your grip EQ 44th Kansas City Wide Open presented by Nexus Disc Golf N Champion Cole Red. YES. COME ON. >> I just I feel blessed. I I played the best disc golf I've played in a long time. I made a lot of changes to my game. Um throwing nose down, uh adding speed to the putt, adding range. I've just added so many things from the offseason to the start of this season. It's caused a rough part of the start of the season, but uh I'm not afraid not afraid to bring consistency if if it caused. So, uh just proud of myself. Um proud of the way I managed my emotions. I mean, just I I can't say more about these guys behind me right here. I feel so bad for him about how the day ended and just what we hopefully expected coming into the day playing 18 holes hopefully or even as many as we could. >> Um I mean, I know the goal never changed for for either of us. Um, my goal is just to keep throwing good shots and you know, it went down the way it did. Uh, and at the at the end of the day, I'm grateful for that. But, you know, I know these guys too, they're they're a bit salty about it and, uh, for for good reason. So, um, I'm very, again, I'm very grateful, but it's bittersweet and I love these guys behind me. Sorry you guys couldn't have the full day you all were looking forward to. I know a lot all of us players were looking forward to it as well. Uh, I'm very grateful at the end of the day, but uh, yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed what you did get to see. And um yeah, thank you Ganon, Calvin, and Rick for a fun, you know, last 18 holes. So, or sorry, 27 holes. So, thank you guys. >> Hi, I'm Coal.
