The 44th Kansas City Wide Open is here. Presented by Grip EQ. We are in Liberty, Missouri, just outside of downtown Kansas City at Bad Rock Creek, the crown jewel of the Kansas City disc golf scene. Reddalan. A slow start this year, but out to a strong round here early in Kansas City. Oh, that's a beautiful forehand around the corner on 14. And that's where it ended up. So this left for birdie and he gets to seven. So now seven birdies in the last eight holes for Cole Rodalan. And there is your leaderboard. Raven Newsome continuing his strong play here early in 2026. He's two back. Eagle McMahon at the first 575 ft par4. >> Oh, watch it. That is incredible. Look how he fights the crosswind. >> Eagle putt coming up for Eagle. I am filled with joy seeing an Eagle McMahon highlight on the Disc Golf Network. This is gorgeous. Look how steep he threw this thing. >> What a way to get your round started. Go out to the 15th. Your leader, Cole Redalan. That touchy shot over the water. >> Oh, Cole does that so well. That is his specialty. Perfect shot. And they marked him out of bounds. >> Ah, it's a better play from Rick. Softer landing with the flex. That's beautiful. >> So Ricky looking to go three for three. >> Excellent shot from McMahon. He's got that for birdie. >> Ganon mentioned this hole is really wind dependent and because the wind is usually in a bad direction, you see a lot less runs. >> Simon nearly puts it in. That's a bullseye tap in for Birdie. >> This is your Barbasol close shave replay. the compound, you could say. And this reminds me of one of those holes. Really tight, technical, >> that's a yachts for Cole Rodall on his second of the round. 10 down through the last 11 holes. >> In a decent spot. >> Oh, sit down. Be a blast. Third shot for Ralin >> and it does settle down and he's just outside the bullseye. >> Ricky second at the sixth. >> Yeah. So this is a Ricky shot. He's got a zone in his hand from all the way back here. This is 300 plus. >> Okay. Okay. They can't keep doing that. The basket's going to get pushed back another 100 ft. >> Redalan in for the birdie at the 18. What a close to this round. >> Saw Isaac throw the backhand turnover through it. >> That is so good from Adam Hams. And >> look at everything he had to miss to get up there. Wow. Oh my gosh. What? >> It was almost like the moment he let go of it, I I knew it was going to be great. We didn't even need to show the catch cam angle. >> That is ridiculous. >> That's a huge shot. People are not pulling that off from back there. That is so good. >> LAZ for the second time today. >> Almost puts it in from distance. >> Casey White four under at the 10th. 487. Sometimes players depending on the win are going to lay this one up. >> Not Casey. >> Casey White to get to five and do a tie for second. He taps it in. Casey's had a sneaky good year so far. Simon and Ganon threw very similar shots. The inside line that hit middle of the fairway, Simon got almost no bounce and he has nothing. Ganon jumped right through from the same spot and is sitting exactly on the hallway. >> Calvin Heimberg is four down through the front. One card ahead. >> Ah, so beautiful, man. Th this hole number seven. I love that we just have a straight 400t wood shot. When you come out to spectate disc golf, this is the hole where you truly get to see how high the spin rates are of these guys. How they can make the drivers look like putters and mids flying through the air. Just easy power as he goes 20 feet deep. >> Oh, he's in the pocket right now with that backhand. It is coming out with a bang >> and he buries it. >> What a bounce back for Ganon. >> Round one coverage of the 44th Kansas City Wide Open continues here on the Disc Golf Network. Eagle McMahon perfect forehand at the 11th. Vintage Eagle right now. >> Parked. nearly puts it in. >> Spikes it down just outside the bullseye. 19% of players taking double bogey or worse. That's a higher percentage than of people getting the birdie. There's a chance for Calvin to get back on the horse after a rough 12. >> Great birdie at the 13th for Calvin. Luke Taylor putting for birdie at the 12th >> and drilling it. Four straight for Luke Taylor. And just like that, he's got a good round going. Ricky, what a save. >> Second shot on the 18th for Zack Nash. Sitting at five under. >> How about that >> from back there? Huh? He's got that left for a eagle. Bradley Williams got the eagle today. He had a 15footer. Banter is worth it. Price of admission alone. >> That's what I've heard from the people that have gone out there. Weissaki the 15th buzzing the chains. Almost skips it in. What an improbable skip that would have been to go in the basket. Here's your one shot replay. And it looked like it might find water and instead it hits the ramp. >> Wow. >> And doesn't miss by much. Birdie putt for McMahon to get back to six down. >> And he knocks it down from Circle's edge. First birdie since the 11th. >> Second shot for Heimberg at the 16th. Oh, baby. >> Oh, that's the right height. Laser beam. >> Like a DX ARX3. >> Yeah. >> And that's where it ended up. >> An Eagle for Heimberg at the 16th. >> Mhm. >> It's n Wait, what? It's 959 and the opening T-shot is so uphill. >> Wow, >> that is an incredible second shot from Calvin. >> Okay, Calvin a little bit deep here on 17. This is going to be a pretty steep turn. >> Nicely done. >> He for Brie. and he gets to eight under par. Four down through the last three holes. >> Yeah, Rick not even with a good line. Just having to blast a forehand up there. >> So good. Bogey free now 10 under one back of the lead. Roll back the Zuka replay. We saki has been fantastic in 2026. 13 out of the 17 greens. He's just been sitting in circle two or better. Calvin Heimberg putting for a birdie at the 18th after going out of bounds deep. Had a chance for the eagle. gets the consolation prize of a birdie putt. >> That didn't stay in. >> That was almost as much chain as you could ask for. >> How did this not find its way into the bottom of the cage? >> Straight through out the back. >> Ganon for birdie. got hot eggs. >> Third circle two make of the day. He's three for five, improving on his no leading circle two putting percentage. Ricky just playing for birdie. Here's his third. >> And a dramafree birdie for Weissaki coming at the 18th. And he is gonna match Cole Redalan at 11 under. >> Genanon on the box. >> Ridiculous. >> And did he go long and out of bounds? >> Oh, that's heartbreaking. >> Oh, that is near perfect. He is not going to be happy when he walks up and sees that. Dixon also mentioned there was a fan that said he would have had no problem getting hit by the fa hit in the face by this drive. It was so good. >> It's a strange comment. Great shot though. >> Can imagine we'll see some drama here on Sunday. >> Great shot from Dan. He's got that left for Birdie. It's going to take him to eight down after a day that I to his standards I bet was frustrating. >> And this is exactly what he was talking about. He's going to will his way to a score that's going to put him right in position. Three shots off the lead. >> Not hard to imagine him shooting double digits under par tomorrow. >> Same is true for Ganon Burr, who is now tied for third. Three shots off the lead. Now Ganon three shots back of Weissaki. We've seen that already this season. It still feels like Ganon might be the favorite with two rounds to play. >> Well, I think Ganon takes it personal that he's won these uh this event three times. He does not want to lose this tournament. Obviously, everybody the lead card, everybody in the tournament wants to win. But I think today you kind of saw Ganon flip a switch after that second time extension. You saw how frustrated he was on whole six. He turned the jets on and you could tell he was locked in and loaded. And I I I wonder what tomorrow's going to bring. feel like we're going to feel some intensity not just from Ganon but from the rest of the guys that want to beat Ganon this tournament. I'm Calvin Heimberg. Thank you for watching the Disc Golf Pro Tour on YouTube. Like and subscribe for more videos.
